Abstract: The main aim of this study is to evaluate the performance of concrete paving block where steel slag was used as a partial replacement of fine aggregate with addition of waste PET fibres in different proportions. The performance was evaluated in term of effect on compressive strength, flexural strength of Steel slag and PET fibre reinforced concrete. The standard zigzag type 60mm thick paver blocks were casted and tested. Laboratory experimentation was carried out to analyze the performance of M35 grade of concrete.

Abstract: Currently, Jakarta residents who choose private vehicles to conduct there activities, resulting in congestion every day and is the main problem in the capital city of Jakarta. The government of Jakarta is currently trying to move the use of private vehicles to public transport to reduce the volume traffic. This research discusses the evaluation of passenger satisfaction on KAI Commuter Line service of Tanah Abang - Serpong route, by using "importance performance analysis" method, then to analyzed Bivariate Correlation and Simple Linear Regression using SPSS program, with the sample number of 100 respondents. Based on the Linear Regression analysis done by the performance of officers has a significant relationship with the value of Pearson Correlation is 77.5%. Based on Cartesian diagram located in quadrant A, B, C and D obtained that service factors influence to increase passenger satisfaction received Ho.

Abstract: The increase of traffic volume on the Jakarta - Tangerang toll road from the beginning of operations to the present (1984 to 2015) has started to cause quite long queues, especially at the Gates of Karang Tengah Toll Gate, which indicates the start of the toll gate transaction capacity compared to Volume of transactions to be served. This is coupled with the operation of JORR segment W1 West and North W2, Ramp Alam Sutera and Ramp / Simpang Susun Km. 11 + 000. Survey data then processed and used in analyzing the capacity of toll gates is a queue component, including queue length and queue time. With the number of toll booths operated amounted to 32 (thirty two), each has different levels of service because there are substations that have been using the electronic system is toll no. 05, 06, 07, and 08 (line A) as well as toll booth no. 22, 23, 24 and 25 (line B). In addition, there are 4 (four) tandem-installed substations, (this is enabled if the arrival rate of vehicles in one lane is too dense).By taking a queue parameter, by inputting the service level data, the number of vehicles that can be serviced for each substation that operates is 302 vehicles / hour does not meet Minimum Service Standard of toll road <270 vehicle / hour per substation. And also can concluded effort to improve service of gate is by minimizing service time, adding toll booth and applying of electronic system.

Abstract: Concrete pile is installed under still water (pond, lake or river) by removing water from inside hollow pile thereby creating vacuum inside it with the help of suction machine by the principle of pressure difference or pressure head. First of all underwater surveying is to be done with the help of sonar technique and then the typography of land below water is find out for making it in a single plane by cutting or filling depending upon the requirements. Install the suction pile by lift crane and then remove the water from inside of the pile by suction machine, so vacuum will going to be create inside hollow pile and hence outside of the pile is water and inside of the pile is vacuum therefore the pressure difference will be created due to which large water pressure is applied from outside of the pile will help for pile to go deep inside the soil till hard strata .similarly install all pile which is required for making the structure in the still water.

Abstract: The time pressing of construction is one of the obstacles often faced by professionals in the construction field. As a result, many companies are making efforts to speed up the cycle time of the project so that the distribution process can be shortened. Therefore, the selection of appropriate construction methods used with the aim of meeting the needs of the achievement of an effective and efficient time. The research methodology is done by identifying the methods of work through observation of the implementation work installation then determine the work task, duration, and resource requirements at their respective jobs. After getting the required data simulated with the operating system WebCyclone through coding results that have been made. In this study used a simulation by the WebCyclone to know the value of productivity, duration and cost of construction operations. From both methods, the result of analysis by the conventional method of installation productivity of 0,276 units/hour or 2,208 units/day with total time required for 100 units is 46 days at a cost IDR 1.957.361.309,- while the Hollow Core Floor Panel (HCFP) method is 0,354 units / hour or 2,832 units / day with the total time required for 100 units is 36 days at a cost of IDR 2.103.968.736,-. Of the two alternatives compared to the most efficient methods of the time is a method of Hollow Core Floor Panel (HCFP). In terms of cost, Hollow Core Floor Panel (HCFP) method is more expensive than the conventional method, but when compared to the overall duration of the completion of the project, the time taken by conventional methods costs that tend to be more expensive.

Abstract: This study investigated the effects of full/partial replacement of crushed granite with palm kernel shells (PKS) on the compressive strength, density and workability of super plasticized concrete. Concrete samples were prepared using a nominal volume mix ratio of 1:1.5:3 at a water/cement ratio of 0.6. Coarse aggregate was partially replaced with clean Palm Kernel shells from 0% to 100% at intervals of 25% while Conplast SP 430, a high range water reducer was added to each mix at 0%, 1% and 2% of cementitious material. 100mm×100mm×100mm concrete cubes were produced and compressive strength determined in accordance with ASTM guidelines at 7days, 14days, and 28days. Also the slump and density values were also determined. The results showed that an increase in PKS yields a corresponding decrease in compressive strength, density and workability of concrete. For each mix, addition of super plasticizer resulted in considerable improvements in measured parameters except for compressive strength where improvement was marginal for the dosage administered. Optimum super plasticizer content was observed to be at 1%. Contents above this resulted in marginal improvements only.  At 75% replacement, compressive strength and other parameters were observed to be adequate for lightweight concrete production with an average value of over 17kN/m2 at 28 days and good slump and density values. There is need to standardize the use of PKS as constituent material for light weight concrete production.

Abstract: This study Developed Kirchorff Quadrilateral Elements using an object oriented approach and the Java programming language. A review of the work of Kansara (2004) and Nikishkov (2010) was conducted to develop a finite element program using Java programming language which addresses most of deficiencies inherent in the work of Kansara (2004). Input to the program is done through a text file and the loads that can be applied to the structure include concentrated loads, and uniformly distributed surface loads. Various load combinations can also be used. The program computes displacements and stresses at each node of the finite element model. Several test examples were analyzed using the program and results were compared with those obtained from Kansara(2004), the commercial finite element analysis program SAP 2000 and LISA respectively. Results were compared at the points of maximum displacements and stresses. The average stress was taken in to consideration to calculate stresses at specific point. The results obtained from the analysis of the example problems  were found to be very accurate when compared to those obtained from the Kansara (2004), SAP 2000 and LISA. The difference in displacements computed by the two programs was less than 1, which is very negligible. The difference in stresses was also quite close. However, stresses in a few cases differed by 5 to 9 %. The difference in displacements was found to be less than 5 % for the eight node quadrilateral plate bending (DKQ8) element.

Abstract: The presented paper gives a comparison in the design of reinforced concrete beams between the Chinese code GB 50010, the European code Eurocode 2 and the American code ACI 318. From a concrete structure composed of a slab and several beams, the design of rebars of reinforced concrete beams is made according to the three design codes. The comparison is based on the calculations of the ratios between the different values of areas of reinforcement. In this research, we determine which code is the most conservative by using the same value for the steel yield strength. In flexure design, the results of rebar areas are approximately similar. It appears Eurocode 2 is the most conservative code. The codes are mainly equivalent and the differences between the codes are about 10% or 20%. In shear design, we observe more discrepancies than in flexure design but the stirrups ratios of two compared codes stay in a range globally between 1 and 2. ACI 318 is, in most cases, the most conservative code. Then with all the calculated ratios, a relation is given between the codes by the utilization of trend-lines which describe the distribution of all the calculated data. This paper is presented as follows. First, we deal with the presentation of the project and the calculation method. Then, we show the results of the comparison. Finally, a proposal on a common, international design code is given.

Abstract: Dynamic analysis can be performed by two methods one is response spectrum method and another is time history method. In response spectrum method, the values are taken as per code IS 1893 (part 1) 2002 but in time history method the previous Earthquake data is used. The loads which are used they are as per IS standards.  In present study, the time history analysis is to be used because time history analysis is more economical then response spectrum method. Multi-story regular buildings with (G+25) stories have been modelled using software STAAD PRO for seismic zone V in India. And by using time history method for multi-storey building the story displacement and story drift calculated. Time history analysis is also known as non-linear dynamic analysis. A time history is the advanced method of dynamic analysis. The time history analysis method is also capability to incorporate harmonic forcing function which can described by sinusoidal curves with a specified arrival time, frequency, amplitude, and duration.

Abstract: The Shear walls are commonly used as a vertical structural element. They are used for resisting the lateral loads which are induced by the loads due to wind and earthquake. Besides shear walls also carry gravity loads. An attempt is made for seismic analysis of RCC building with shear wall at different locations using STAAD pro. A 6 storey building is taken under consideration. Four different Model of RCC building are used, one with no shear wall and other four models with different position of shear wall. Results will be obtained from analysis and plotted to compare and to have knowledge of behavior of RCC framed structures with shear walls using Response spectrum Analysis which is subjected to earthquake load in zone V. The parameters like storey drift, lateral displacement, and base shear will be studied and suitable location of shear wall will be determined among these models. This study also incorporates how the shear force, bending moment for beam and axial Force for column vary with change in the position of RC shear wall. The whole analysis is done on STAAD. Pro V8i software.

Title: Seismic Analysis of RCC Building with Shear Wall at Different Locations Using STAAD Pro

Abstract: This research developed the mathematical model for deflection in rectangular thin plate. The improved finite difference model for deflection was developed using Taylor’s series expression. The model was applied in analyzing the flexural behaviour of rectangular thin plate with all edges clamped. The results obtained from this numerical method were compared with the ordinary finite difference method and the exact solution to check the accuracy of the solution. Two cases of plate were considered. The results emerging from plate with 5*5 interior nodal point showed an average percentage error of -4.82% while that of plate with 7*7 nodal point showed +13.92% from the exact solution. Hence the results suggest that the accuracy of the model lies within the plate with 5*5 nodal point. However the convergence to the exact solution was close and rapid. Thus the use of improved finite difference method proved to be more accurate than the ordinary finite difference method. Therefore the model developed is effective and is recommended for use in structural engineering.

Abstract: Mumbai is the region consisting of soft compressible marine clay deposits. There are several construction problems on such soils and thus ground improvement is need to be carried out. Vertical drains is generally preferred technique as accelerated settlement is achieved during the construction phase itself if planned accordingly. The concept of vertical drains is based on the theory of three dimensional consolidation as described by Terzaghi (1943). Based on this concept, a consolidation programme is developed and an attempt is made to determine the field to laboratory coefficient of vertical consolidation ratio by Taylor’s Square Root of Time Method and Casagrande’s Logarithm of Time Fitting Method for this region by considering the case study of MRVC at Virar Embankment. Based on this ratio, the rate of consolidation and time required for consolidation in the field can be determined knowing the consolidation parameters. Equations are developed by using output of the programme and it is explained.

Abstract: Tangerang city is a region which has a relatively flat and inclined contour-shaped basin so that in some areas when the rains come will experience flooding. The cause of the flooding is necessary to identify the field. From the results obtained that the identification of flood discharge for the region amounted to 29.91 m³ / s with 1.65 km².Dari watershed area of this discharge can only be accommodated by the existing drainage network is only 5 m³ / sec so that the excess is what makes this region flood. For excess of 24.91 m³ / s is done by creating a polder or ponds so that these advantages can be accommodated. Polder or ponds that can accommodate this excess area of 6.3 hectares with a depth of 4 meters. In addition to planning embung / Polder required also increase drainage infrastructure sehigga can flow smoothly.

Abstract: Bioswales are stormwater control structures designed stormwater runoff volume and filter stormwater solids and pollutant from surface runoff. Bioswale generally consists of sloped surface ground with native wetland plants to lead stormwater percolation and infiltration, porous media to allow for stormwater retention and stormwater contaminant filtration, and stormwater drain conduit under the porous media. In this study, we monitored the bioswale evaluation factors of stormwater total volume reduction, peak flow rate reduction, and peak time attenuation. It is concluded that, based on a total of 29 monitoring of storm events, pumice is a hydrologically best performing material for the bioswale porous media for all three evaluation factors. Recycled crushed glass was also a competitive material for all the criteria except peaktime attenuation. It shows 32% peaktime attenuation than non-bioswale parking lot, but it is less than half of the pumice materials performance (64%). To evaluate a local availability, a cost analysis of the bioswale material and construction cost is recommended. Retail prices of the bioswale materials from the local areas as well as a value of parking space, which can be obtained by reducing stormwater retention pond size caused by the bioswale system, should be included in the cost analysis.
