Abstract: Construction is the world’s largest and challenging industry. Productivity of every activity is important in determining the financial outcome of any construction project. Productivity tracking helps to higher cost savings. Planning manager to monitor the critical activity for successful completion of project within duration and budget this paper shows that productivity can be measured by monthly planned/targeted quantity of activity and actual quantity of work done at site. Whereas targeted quantity of activity is the input and actual quantity of work done is the output of the productivity. This analysis considers the earned value method as the monitoring system which can be used to monitor a construction project and improves productivity at site. The on-going project data is collected from the respective construction manager of the site and the planned and actual progress of site is analyzed in spread sheet. The result of this analysis shows the deviation of planned activity in site and warning sign to project manager from cost overrun and guidelines to improve productivity in site.

Abstract: This research work is done to embrace the project work on "Strucural Analysis & Design of Multistorey Building". The principle goal of the project work is to accomplish the degree of information and practical understanding required for analysis and design of High rise structures. This project research consolidates all the phases of structural analysis through the determination of loading parameters, preliminary and detailed design of structural members. Loads on the structure have been resolved utilizing particular IS Codes and they have been dispersed in like manner. Abstract: The objective of the current study is to study the seismic response of structures on improved soil condition using stone columns as a liquefaction countermeasure. For this purpose, numerical simulations of a building modelled as single degree-of- freedom (SDOF) is performed using time history analysis considering two different cases of the beneath the model. The first case deal with the original unimproved soil, while the second one considers an improved base soil supporting the SDOF building model. An efficient discrete springs and dashpots to represent the sway and rocking movements of the soil mass. Moreover, the equivalent-linear approach is used to numerically simulate the seismic soil response. Three different records of different intensities are used to excite the SDOF model to perform the analysis. The examined cases indicate that the use of improvement technique may simultaneously have a beneficial or harmful effect on the global seismic response of the system during earthquake loads.

Abstract: In the present time where we are constantly looking for better materials to work with we are also working hard on modifying the old ones we have using different methods. Doing the same thing scientist ended up finding Spheroidal Graphite iron which has mechanical properties better than that of malleable iron. This is a type of cast iron where unlike grey cast iron graphite provides continuity of structure and plasticity. Its higher mechanical properties are making it to be the best replacement for steel in the manufacturing business. The properties of the S.G. iron can be further increased/modified by heat treatment processes. Studies and various experiments are being conducted to understand the structure and the properties of S.G. iron in various places. In this paper we are determining different material/mechanical properties of ductile cast iron which is casted using a non conventional casting method (freeze molding technique) which is also eco friendly with various other advantages including being as effective as our conventional molding method.

Abstract: Over the last two decades, major research have been made about green roofs, this article tries to raise more awareness on green roof components and its many benefits (environmental, social and economic) that are related with the green roof technology. This article also places emphasis on how green roofs works in different areas, their overall performance in reducing storm water and energy costs, and improving air and ecological performance. The benefits of green roof shows that it plays an important role in making cities more secure, sustainable and resilient to local climate change. However, huge construction costs, excessive renovation costs and roof leakages are the primary challenges associated with the application of green roofs. These challenges can be overcome with new cost effective green roof layout that can work successfully and efficiently in any area. Advanced amendments and traits of green roof application are also covered in this article.

Abstract: The fabrication of Engineering materials with properties combination of high hardness, impact resistance, ductility and light weights can only be obtained from metallic super alloy materials, which has led to the development of metal matrix composites, (MMC). Aluminium/Silicon carbide and Aluminium/Boro-silicate glass materials, were separately fabricated owing to their low density, high temperature strengths, etc.

Stir-casting process of fabrication was adopted because of it’s simplicity and flexibility, and also the use of sand mould.

The metal matrix composites (MMC’s) bars and circular plates are prepared with varying the reinforced particles by weight fraction ranging from, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25%. The average reinforced particle size of silicon carbide and also borosilicate glass was 100μm.

The mechanical tests of hardness, impact, ductility and tensile tests were carried out. Also the specific weights were also evaluated.

From the various mechanical tests and the physical property evaluation results it shows that aluminium reinforced with borosilicate glass material increases in strength and decreased specific weight with increasing reinforcement, and that 25% borosilicate glass reinforcement provides the best mechanical hardness and tensile strengths and also the best physical properties. 

Metallographic analysis of the specimens, using Optical microscopic process, shows even particle distribution of reinforcements.

Abstract: Green roofs are considered to be an effective solution to improve internal and external environment at the building and urban levels. In comparison to conventional roofs, green roofs present many benefits, such as reducing the temperature of the roof surface and surrounding air, reducing the air pollution, mitigating noise, improving the management of runoff water, increasing the urban biodiversity, and the reducing the energy consumption of buildings, especially for cooling purposes, Research has shown that green roof temperatures can be 30–40°F lower than those of conventional roofs and can reduce city-wide ambient temperatures by up to 5°F. In addition, green roofs can reduce building energy use by 0.7% compared to conventional roofs. This paper will use, a dynamic simulation of a building situated in the Campus University of Palermo, Italy, in the comparative analysis of green roof energy saving and normal conventional roof showing the importance of green roof over normal conventional roof. Two different situations were taking into consideration; in the first one, the building as it is, with a conventional covering, while in the second one the roof was equipped with a green roof. The results of the two simulations have been compared, recommending that application of green roof could contribute to the energy savings of the building.

Abstract: Concrete is an essential building material is widely used in the construction of infrastructure such as buildings, bridges, highways, dams, and many other facilities. Cement the second most consumed product after the water in the world. Geopolymer concrete (GPC) is manufactured using industrial waste having Silica and alumina like fly ash, Red mud, RHA paper ash etc. which is consider as more economical and eco-friendly alternative to OPC based Concrete.

The feasibility of production of GPC using Rice Husk Ash (RHA) is evaluated in this study. Additionally the initial and final setting time of Geopolymer paste based on RHA is also studied. For this Study the molarity of NAOH is kept constant that is M16and the alkaline solution ratio is 1:1.85 and alkaline solution to source material is 0.7 & 0.8. Study Show that Geopolymer concrete based on RHA gives good compressive and flexural strength as compare to Ordinary Portland Cement Concrete at different mix.

Abstract: Concrete filled steel tubular members comprise of a steel hollow section of circular or rectangular shape filled with plain or reinforced concrete. They are used in multi-storey buildings as columns and beam-columns, and as beams in low-rise industrial buildings where a robust and efficient structural system is required. The objective is to analyse CFST column by finite element method software (ANSYS) results obtained by using ANSYS software are analyze for  evaluate the Compression effect of  concrete filled steel tubular columns, observe the behaviours of the confined and unconfined concrete columns subjected to axial loading, understand the behaviour of double steel tube in confined columns, compare the compression effect with conventional single skinned solid CFST with double skinned hollow CFST, & Evaluating the stress – strain & deflection for confined and unconfined specimens.

Abstract: The construction industry in the United Kingdom, though seen as having a competing advantage when compared to that in most parts of the world, was still suggested to be operating way below its full potential and capacity (HM Government, 2012). The Construction 2025 document acknowledges this and has outlined targets to increasing the operating capacity of the industry.

This paper reviews how the Building Information Modelling/Management system, can be strategically used to achieving one or more of those targets set out by the Construction 2025 documents. Additionally, the text explores works done by other researchers on this topic matter and draws conclusions based of their findings.

It is hoped that at the end of the text, the construction industry especially those in the private sector would appreciate the real importance of BIM to the increasing of its industrial capacity and revenue.

Abstract: We developed a new structural light weight concrete by completely replacing coarse aggregate in concrete by expanded polystyrene (EPS) beads. Expanded polystyrene (EPS) is a lightweight material that has been used in engineering applications since at least the 1950s. Expanded polystyrene waste in a granular form is used as light weight aggregate to produce light weight nonstructural concrete with the unit weight varying from 950 kg/m³ to 1350kg/m³. This paper reports the results of an experimental investigation into the engineering properties, such as compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, drying shrinkage and creep, of polystyrene aggregate concrete varying in density.

Abstract: Intz tank is an important overhead water storage tank, there for it is necessary that it should be constructed keeping in view its economy. The main aims of this paper are hydrostatic analysis of Intze water tank ,To obtain economical design of tank, the parametric study must needed, for this purpose we can vary the  proportion of container such as, staging container diameter ratio, height of cylindrical wall to diameter ratio and horizontal angle of dome have been varied as well as no of column for design of staging .To achieve this objective 4 different depth to diameter ratio of Intze tank consider for analysis on staad pro software and comparative results obtained in term of principal and Von mises stresses on cylindrical wall. Maximum shear force and bending moment on beams and node displacement. For the parametric study of Intze tank horizontal angle of conical dome should be 45°, ratio of height of cylindrical wall to diameter ratio should be kept 0.5, 0.8, 1 and 1.5. with constant volume and height of staging.

Abstract: The paper presents findings from a research done to find if flexible non-linear spring materials help to reduce earthquake forces on SAC (storey steel structures). Tests were run for inelastic and elastic materials on the OpenSees software to find the behaviour of the materials and the difference in simulated and calculated values. Three categories of material that had flexible non-linear spring properties were selected and the tests were run with the El Centro earthquake excitation model. Test results showed that the material Hys 6 absorbed energy of up to 50% and the moments of members did not exceed the max moment. Recommendations are made to further test and study the material for applications.

Abstract: The objective of the current research is to identify the properties of the structural material (reinforced concrete), to identify the effect of low and high temperatures on the engineering behavior of the reinforced concrete and its impact on resistance, and to make suggestions for controlling changes in concrete due to low or high temperatures. The study found that low and high temperatures affect the behavior of reinforced concrete, as high temperatures lead to heating of concrete elements, so that the level of this heating depends on the value of the temperature, the type of heating, and the type of rebar used. The increase in the temperature of the concrete elements changes the specifications of the components of these elements and affects their behavior when exposed to different loads. This reduces their resistance to carrying loads and increases the size of their elastic deformities. The elasticity coefficient decreases gradually when exposed to high temperatures. The bonding strength of the reinforcing steel to the concrete is reduced. As for the exposure of reinforced concrete to low temperatures; there is no agreement on the behavior of concrete under low temperature, but positive, even for lack of results with these characteristics, so that the concrete in cold weather can be useful for their mechanical performance over the time. Concrete can also be negatively affected when exposed to low temperatures. Low temperatures may contribute to the tendency of the concrete to slow down or even reverse, due to the low melting rate, leading to a reduction in the quality of the concrete structure. In general, there are four main factors that affect the behavior of concrete when exposed to freezing and melting. These factors are the effect of the water content of the cement (c / w), and the effect of the ratio between water and cement (Water Cement Ratio), the concrete content of the rubble, and the temperature. The research recommended that, in order to overcome the problem of low resistance to high temperature concrete and humidity, concrete additives such as fibers can be used to improve many of its engineering properties such as strengthening its durability and resistance to tensile strength and enabling it to withstand thermal shocks.
