Abstract: One of the structural systems that are widely used nowadays is post tensioning concrete slabs with special shaped dead end (H-anchorage dead end). The special shaped dead end is formed by using a certain hydraulic jack that enables the shaping of an easy shaped and economic dead end. This paper presents an experimental work to assess the development length of 15 mm (0.6 in) diameter prestressing strand with special shaped dead in concrete slabs with 48 MPa concrete compressive strength. The experimental program included three specimens with 750 mm, 900 mm and 1050 mm length with constant specimen width and thickness 300 mm and 200 mm respectively. From the experimental test results and the analyzed data it was concluded that the development length of the prestressing strand in post-tensioning concrete slabs equal 1000 mm is sufficient to reach the strand ultimate strength.

Abstract: These days, the most popular method for enhancing the flexural, shear and torsional properties of concrete is steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC). This study examines the torsional behavior of steel-fiber reinforced concrete beams in pure torsion. Fiber ratio, fiber type and concrete strength were factors in this study.   

To cast the tested beams, six different concrete mixtures were chosen. The first group (1) consists of three rectangular beams split into a control beam with a compressive strength of 20 MPa and two rectangular beams with various steel fiber ratios and types. The second group (2) is made up of three beams, with one rectangular beam serving as a control beam with a compressive strength of 40 MPa and the other two rectangular beams having various steel fiber ratios and types. All beams were cast and put through a strict torsion test.   

The objective of research is to study the crack pattern, crack torque, ultimate torque, torsion rigidity. The experimental study found that adding steel fibers to RC beams improved the ultimate torsion strength and decreased the angle of twist for beams when compared to control beams at the same load.

Abstract: This paper presents a comprehensive investigation on Viscous wall dampers “VWDs” as supplemental damping devices for high-rise conventional concrete buildings. A total of seven Far-Field ground motions are used to assess the performance of VWDs in reducing the seismic response of 57- story RC building. Non-linear response time history analysis “NRHA” of a benchmark RC structure with and without the use of the VWDs were performed. The NRHA results show that the displacement response is reduced significantly in structure equipped with VWDs.

Abstract: Whereas the construction industry represents a significant proportion of national income in comparison with other industries, and project management during the construction stage has a very important role through which most of the project cost is spent out, therefore the project management team has to use the best techniques in project management to get the best results. Abstract: This paper presents the effect of different types of mixed water on stress strain behavior of reinforced concrete beams with Glass Fiber bars; three flexural reinforced concrete beams were tested. They were divided into three groups where the fresh water, sea water and mixed water are used in concrete mixing and curing. From decades ago they found that the concrete with steel is an ideal material for construction especially that they have the same values of thermal expansion coefficient and bond. But there have been some disadvantages for steel reinforcement such as corrosion which cause fall the concrete cover, which cost a lot at the maintenance. Different kinds of fibers have been discovered Glass, Carbon, Armid, and Basalt. Although the advantages of fibers reinforcement polymer has been recognized as, light weight, high tensile strength, excellent corrosion resistance. In order to improve the elastic modules to enhance the crack width and deflection through mixing different types of fiber material, Such as carbon and glass there for stress-strain characterized can be changed this method is effective but costly.

Abstract: More study is required to better understand the flexural behaviour and cracking performance of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) bars used in lightweight concrete (LWC) beams because there is a paucity of experimental research in this field. This article describes an experimental investigation that evaluated the flexural behaviour, cracking capability, and bond-dependent (Kb) properties of beams made of lightweight concrete. There are three thin concrete beams in all (one of them reinforced with steel bars as a reference beam and the other beams reinforced with GFR bars) measured 150 mm wide x 300 mm deep x 2000 mm long were constructed and tested up to failure in four-point bending over a clear span of 1800 mm. The test parameters were: (a) reinforcement type (Steel bars and GFRP bars), and (b) concrete cover (20 mm and 35 mm). The test results included information on the cracking behaviour, deflection, crack width, reinforcing strain, flexural capacity, and mechanism of failure. The experiment's findings showed that the GFRP-reinforced beams behaved linearly to cracking until concrete crushing caused them to fail. Additionally, the predicted moment capacities of the GFRP beams were computed using the strain-compatibility approach in the design standards. The outcomes showed that the experimental results and predictions had a good degree of agreement. According to the analysis of the kb factor, recommended Kb values for smooth GFRP bars are thus given as = 1.65 based on the experimental findings of the tested beams.

Abstract: This study's primary goal is to discuss the impact of the shear strengthening of Confined concrete beams and compare with control unstrengthened specimen to show the impact of side bonded beams retrofitting externally by Cfrp. Beams are designed to show also size effect impact. Two concrete beams were casted at the laboratory with concrete dimension of 180*40*2200mm while casted concrete strength of 30 MPa with 5Φ22 Bottom Reinforcement and 3Φ16 Top Reinforcement while the web reinforcement of T8 Spaced at 150mm.beams are tested under a/d radio of 2. The first beam used as a control beam without strengthening, and the other beam that are externally strengthened with CFRP strips with full height spaced at 150 mm and leaved for 28 days  to gain full strength of epoxy resin as per the manufacturer data sheet before testing the beams. Each of these beams was tested with a particular span-depth ratio under a single point of loading until it failed in shear.

Abstract: Flat plates are widely used in reinforced concrete (RC) structures due to their functional and economic advantages. Their design is usually governed by the punching shear stress surrounding the slab-column connections. In seismic zones, slab-column connections must possess adequate strength and ductility to undergo inelastic deformations without fail during and after the earthquake occurrence. Nowadays, fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcing bars have gained wide acceptance in the construction industry to use effectively as an alternative to steel bars, particularly when steel corrosion is a major concern. Concerns are questioning the applicability of using the FRP as longitudinal and transverse reinforcements in the slab-column connections under lateral loads. Due to the growing use of GFRP bars in flat slab parking structures and such field applications, there is a need for a deeper knowledge of the behavior of these elements as part of the whole system of the building. This paper presents a critical review of the state of the art of experimental and analytical research concerning the punching shear response of RC flat slab reinforced with GFRP bars subjected to gravity load and lateral loads. Besides, the newly developed techniques and innovations for enhancing the punching shear behavior of flat slabs totally reinforced with FRP are highlighted.

Light transmitting concrete (LTC) or ‘LiTraCon’ is an example of such phenomenal innovation. This review evaluates the principles involved in this, manufacturing process, pros and cons and applications of LitraCon. It has been described how the Litracon developed from 90's and further. Embedding optical fibres in the concrete reduces electricity demands. Hence, it can be used as an eco -friendly alternative to traditional concrete in the near future. Abstract: The research investigated the behavior of reinforced concrete (RC) columns which have high slenderness ratios, and this strengthens with GFRP wrapping laminate. Twelve RC columns having a circular cross-section with various slenderness ratios (H/D) 16, 18, 20, and 22 were tested experimentally under concentric axial load. The first group of columns was non-strengthened as control. Secondly, the fully strengthened with GFRP wrapping laminates in the hoop direction and thirdly, the partially strengthened with GFRP wrapping laminates in the hoop direction were tested. Then the numerical models were developed and validated with the experimental results. The numerically developed model was implemented to demonstrate the effect of changing the orientation of the GFRP laminates, in addition, the effect of applied the eccentric axial load on the capacity of the strengthened slender columns were explored. Lastly, the experimental results for unconfined and FRP-confined columns are compared with ECP and ACI codes provisions. It can be concluded that increasing the slenderness ratio of columns causes a reduction in the ultimate axial load, axial deformation arising from decreasing the column stiffness but increasing the lateral deformation. Fully wrapped enhanced the lateral deformation of slender columns by reducing them by 0.8 to 0.55 when compared to partially wrapped as the slenderness ratio increased from 16 to 22. The column capacity predicted by ECP is more conservative than ACI for unconfined and confined slender columns. GFRP hoop strengthening barely increased the resistance for slender columns, while GFRP strengthening in the longitudinal direction contributes to their capacities.

Abstract: Due to exposure to erratic riverside flows, riverine transport or littoral drift, also known as sedimentation, water salinity, and mass density stratification, riverine flows, storm surges, and astronomical tides affect coastal defenses and riverine through instability of waterway and bridge scour in the region subjected to tidal flow. However, foundation scour may be measured to offset possible negative impacts, and waterway instability can be managed using geomorphology methods and current scour equations.

Abstract: Openings in webs of steel beams or steel beam column are commonly used to reduce the material volume without affecting the structural strength or serviceability requirements. Most of previous research focused on the behavior of beam with web opening but only few concentrated on beam column with web opening.  This paper highlights the behavior of steel beam column with different shapes of web opening at different locations. A finite element software ANSYS 19 was used for modeling beam column element with web opening. The results obtained from this study have shown that, load capacity of beam column with circular web opening is bigger than that of beam columns with square or rectangular web opening. The behavior of the steel beam columns became weaker and the vertical deflection at failure stage is increased when the area of web opening has been increased. Whenever web opening is located near to location of applied load that is lead to increase deflection.
