Abstract: This study was entitled La Fila Converter: A file converting system using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) implementing K-Nearest Neighbours Algorithm. The purpose of this study is to implement an existing algorithm under Optical Character Recognition that uses patterns to perform converting of a file. The fact that humans have a higher demand in file converting applications is the reason why this study was conducted. Computers don’t have eyes to read just like human do, they use pattern recognition to read characters. Using K-Nearest Neighbours Algorithm will help the system to be more accurate and consistent in recognizing text characters. Incremental Software Methodology was utilized for the development of the study. Functional and Conformance Test are used as testing instruments. The evaluation criteria were based on ISO 9126-1 software quality standard. The result of the system evaluation showed that the developed system is highly acceptable with a Mean of 3.47 and 0.55 of SD.

Abstract: The scale at which events are held is ever increasing. The difficulties in managing such events increase proportionately with the size of the events. The factor which is common among all these events is the unfamiliarity with the environment and lack of relevant information at the right time. This paper describes an event management system that overcomes the above mentioned drawbacks by providing context aware location based services to the users. The system uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) based beacons, an android mobile app and a web server to provide the right information, to the right person at the right time. The proposed system aims to provide an interactive and engaging experience to the users as well as facilitate ease of event management. Abstract: Recommender frameworks and systems are presently famous both industrially and in the research group, where numerous methodologies have been proposed for giving recommendations. This paper talks about the collaborative filtering and conventional method for measuring their execution against client rating information sets. The paper will then proceed onward to talk about building dependable, precise information sets; understanding recommender frameworks in the more extensive connection of client data needs and undertaking support and the collaboration amongst clients and recommender frameworks. A cooperative separating methodology is going to channel and perceive the comparable administrations under same group and took after by those assessments proposals are made. Pre-calculation and truncation is crucial to conveying cooperative separating by and by, as it places an upper bound on the quantity of things which must be considered to create a suggestion and wipes out the inquiry time expense of similarity calculation. It accompanies the little cost of diminishing the quantity of things for which expectations can be created. This paper proposes a joined collaborative filtering technique which utilizes cosine closeness strategy to register the likenesses which results in better recommendations.

Abstract: Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases in which there are high blood sugar levels over a prolonged period. The chronic hyperglycemia of diabetes is associated with long-term damage, dysfunction, and failure of different organs, especially the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart, and blood vessels.1 Proteinuria has been recognized as one of the earliest signs of renal function deterioration in diabetes mellitus. In the present study, an attempt has been made to establish the PCI in random urine samples, as a convenient, quick and reliable method for the estimation of proteinuria in diagnosing and monitoring diabetic nephropathy. An attempt has also been made to determine the optimal cutoff value of PCI for the prediction of significant proteinuria. This study signifies the role of urinary PCI in detecting even a minor increase in the protein excretion in a random urine specimen. Total of 50 samples were collected from the IPD and OPD patients, 25 patients aged 25 to 65 years, who were diagnosed as diabetics and were confirmed by the estimation of fasting serum glucose (>126 mg/dl). 25 normal healthy subjects, age and sex matched with the diabetic patients, were selected as the Controls. The comparison of urinary protein, urinary creatinine and urinary protein:creatinine index(PCI) between control and study group was analyzed using unpaired “t”-test. . The urinary protein levels were significantly increased, urinary creatinine levels were decreased and urinary protein:creatinine index was significantly higher in diabetic patients as compared to the control group. The present study suggests that random urinary PCI can be a good predictor of significant proteinuria in long term suffering patients of diabetes mellitus during diabetic nephropathy. This test could be a reasonable alternative to the 24-hour urine sample collection for the detection of significant proteinuria in diabetes mellitus patients.

Abstract: Short Message Service (SMS) has been widely exploited in day to day communication. SMS classification is the process of classifying queries into predefined departments. In this paper, we analyse the concept of new classification model which will classify mobile SMS into predefined departments such as examination, sports, admission etc. The main purposed of our system is to extract the answer for the SMS query sent by the student on the college server to fulfil the time quotient and provide best information in lesser time. The ideas introduced by the proposed system are ANN for classification of mobile SMS into predefined classes, feature selection and SVM based text message classification using document frequency threshold, a novel semi- supervised method to detect spam SMSs using frequent item set mining algorithm apriori. The methodologies discussed above had some drawbacks. So, this paper puts forward an idea of mobile SMS classification in which registered users can send query and get appropriate reply.

Abstract: The microcontroller is the heart of this project to which the RFID reader and tags are interfaced which are similar to the Regulator of cylinder. Every cylinder is having unique RFID TAG through which the cylinder can be identified. The RFID reader is connected to microcontroller which in turn is connected to GSM hence whenever a theft occur it will send an alert to user.
Failing of distribution of cylinder to particular customer will automatically send message to server and police that means unauthorized usages / distribution by local distributor men or selling the domestic cylinders to commercial point like hotels etc. Along with this our system is made so intelligent that it can sense GAS leakage and turn of the burner which with help of relay controlled by micro controller & will give buzzer in that case.

Abstract: This paper describes the basic technological aspects of Digital Image Processing with special reference to satellite image processing. Basically, all satellite image processing operations can be grouped into three categories: Image Rectification and Restoration, Enhancement and Information Extraction. The former deals with initial processing of raw image data to correct for geometric distortion, to calibrate the data radiometrically and to eliminate noise present in the data. The enhancement procedures are applied to image data in order to effectively display the data for subsequent visual interpretation. It involves techniques for increasing the visual distinction between features in a scene. The objective of the information extraction operations is to replace visual analysis of the image data with quantitative techniques for automating the identification of features in a scene. This involves the analysis of multispectral image data and the application of statistically based decision rules for determining the land cover identity of each pixel in an image. The intent of classification process is to categorize all pixels in a digital image into one of several land cover classes or themes. This classified data may be used to produce thematic maps of the land cover present in an image.

Abstract: In computer security, authentication is such a technique by which the system identifies the genuine users. Among several authentication schemes password based authentication is still one of the widely accepted. Color password is widely famous, but it is prone to shoulder surfing attacks, in which an attacker can record the login procedure of a user for an entire session and can retrieve the user original PIN. Traditional PIN-entry methods are vulnerable to a wide class of observation attacks such as brute force attacks, side channel attacks etc. A number of alternative PIN-entry methods that are based on human cognitive skills have been proposed till date. These methods can be classified into two classes regarding information available to a passive adversary: fully observable and partially observable. In this paper, we propose an intelligent user interface, known as Color Lock to resist the password attacks so that any genuine user can enter the session PIN without disclosing the actual PIN. The Color Lock is based on a partially observable attacker model. The experimental analysis shows that the Color Lock interface is safe and easy to use.

Abstract: For authentication users mainly use PIN entry mechanism. Due to its usability and security aspects this scheme is popular. But one of the drawbacks of this scheme is that it suffers from shoulder surfing attack. An unauthorized user can fully or partially observe the login session in this attack. To get the actual PIN the attacker can record the activities of the login session and can use it later. In this paper,we propose an authentication method, known as Color Combo to resist the shoulder surfing attack so that user don’t have to disclose the actual pin all he/she has to enter is the session pin. This scheme is based on a partially observable model. This scheme is user friendly and takes only less time to complete.
General Terms: Authentication, shoulder surfing attacks, session pin.
