Abstract: Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in all over the world. Advances in wireless technology have made possible the remote monitoring of a patient’s heart sensors as part of a body area network. Some of these networks use a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) component to transmit the signal between the bio sensors and a smart phone. In wireless sensor networks the information carried in the data sensors is very important for everyone .This study investigates the impact of stray wireless transmissions from residential microwave ovens have on the BLE component of the body area network and also the security issues by using Bluetooth which acts as a intermediate between bio-sensors and smart phone. The results of this study may lead to improvements and widespread use of body area network medical systems.

Abstract: Feature Selection is an essential step in successful data mining applications, which can effectively reduce data dimensionality by removing the irrelevant and redundant features. Feature Selection is often an essential data prior to applying a learning algorithm. Machine learning algorithms are known to degrade in performance when faced with many features that are not necessary for predicting the desired output. The removal of irrelevant and redundant information often improves the performance of the machine learning algorithms. Feature selection techniques aim at reducing the number of unnecessary features in classification rules. The proposed Feature Subset Selection using clustering for high dimensional data works in two steps. First step, features are divided into clusters by using partitioning clustering methods. Second step, the representative feature that is strongly related to target class is selected from each cluster to form a subset of features. These features are then used for training using a machine learning algorithm and the results are compared with the original set of features. This is followed by comparison of the efficiency and accuracy of other feature selection algorithms using various combinations of machine learning algorithms.

Abstract: Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are large networks made of a numerous number of sensor nodes with sensing, computation, and wireless communications capabilities. Recently various routing, power management, and data disseminating protocols have been designed for WSNs. SPIN (Sensor Protocols for Information via Negotiation) is a family of adaptive protocols for WSNs. Their design goal is to avoid the drawbacks of flooding protocols by utilizing data negotiation and resource-adaptive algorithms. In this paper, we have proposed two schemes for enhancing SPIN. The first scheme makes use of token leaky bucket for message management for avoiding congestion in SPIN protocol. Second scheme focuses on strategy for fetching information from nearest node. Simulation result shows the effect of proposed scheme on energy consumption for different number of sensor nodes involved sensor node.

Abstract: Cloud computing promises to increase the rapidness of application deployment and delivery.  Authorized Data De-duplication in cloud computing deals with elimination of excessive usage storage space due to duplicated data and providing privacy for user’s .Each authorized user will get an individual token to access their file in the cloud and can perform duplicate check based on the privileges. Authorized user is able to use his/her own private keys to generate query and hence attributes are attached along with the file. Attributes are found in the private cloud; so, control immediately passes to the private cloud, where duplicate check can be performed. Data  stored  in  the public  cloud  is  accessed  only  by  the  authorized  users with the help of different individual  encryption  privilege  keys. Convergent and Symmetric encryption techniques produce identical cipher text that results in minimum overhead. Proof of reliability assures a verifier via an acknowledgement that a user’s file is available.

Abstract: Ants first evolved around 120 million years ago, take form in over 11,400 different species and are considered one of the most successful insects due to their highly organized colonies, sometimes consisting of millions of ants. One particular notability of ants is their ability to create "ant streets". Long, bi-directional lanes of single file pathways in which they navigate landscapes in order to reach a destination in optimal time. These ever-changing networks are made possible by the use of pheromones which guide them using a shortest path mechanism. This technique allows an adaptive routing system which is updated should a more optimal path be found or an obstruction placed across an existing pathway. Computer scientists began researching the behavior of ants in the early 1990's to discover new routing algorithms. The result of these studies is Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) and in the case of well implemented ACO techniques, optimal performance is comparative to existing top-performing routing algorithms. This article details how ACO can be used to dynamically route traffic efficiently. An efficient routing algorithm will minimize the number of nodes that a call will need to connect to in order to be completed thus; minimizing network load and increasing reliability. An implementation of ANTNet based on Marco Dorigo & Thomas stutzle has been designed and through this a number of visually aided test were produced to compare the genetic algorithm to a non-generic algorithm. The report will final conclude with a summary of how the algorithm perform and how it could be further optimized.

Abstract: A CAPTCHA is a type of challenge-response test used in computing to determine whether the user is human. "CAPTCHA" is a contrived acronym for "Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart", trademarked by Carnegie Mellon University. A CAPTCHA involves one computer (a server) which asks a user to complete a test. While the computer is able to generate and grade the test, it is not able to solve the test on its own. Because computers are unable to solve the CAPTCHA, any user entering a correct solution is presumed to be human. A CAPTCHA is sometimes described as a reverse Turing test, because it is administered by a machine and targeted to a human, in contrast to the standard Turing test that is typically administered by a human and targeted to a machine. For example, human can generally read degraded images, but OCR machines cannot. CAPTCHAs are designed to prevent bots – programs that pose as humans on the Internet – from abusing internet services. Bots, driven not to dominate but to sell, sign up for thousands of free email accounts every minute, sending millions of spam messages from them. They infiltrate chat rooms, collecting personal information and posting links to promotional sites. They generate worms, break password systems, invade privacy, and drain resources. To defend e-commerce systems from bots, an increasing number of companies are arming themselves with CAPTCHAs. For example, users registering on Yahoo must first correctly recognize a distorted word displayed against a cluttered background and type it into a box to prove they are human. Such reading-based CAPTCHAs exploit the large gap between humans and machines in their ability to read images of text.

Abstract: Rotating electrical machine plays an important role in electrical industry. Of all the motors the role of induction motors in industry has been greatly increased due to their simple construction, reliability, robustness and easy maintenance. Various faults like stator faults, broken rotor bar faults, rotor eccentricity, winding and bearing faults can occur during normal operation of the motor. Since the motor current plays a vital role for detecting the incipient fault, the Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA) is considered to be the most popular fault detection method to detect the common machine fault. The subject of fault detection and monitoring has been the focus of many investigations and research and still, improved techniques are to be researched for reliable performance and improved efficiency. This literature presents the basics of MCSA as a tool for detecting the health of the electrical machine.

Abstract: Aim of our work is to monitor the human body temperature, blood pressure (BP), Pulse Rate ,GSR, Glucose, Body position, ECG. The human body temperature, BP, Pulse Rate and ECG are detected in the working environment. This can be sensed by using respective sensors. The sensed information is send to the   microcontroller through signal conditioning circuit in the patient unit. A desired amount of sensor value is set and if it is exceeded preliminary steps should be taken by the indicating by buzzer. The sensor information will be transmitted from the patient unit to the main controller unit with the help of Zigbee communication system which is connected with the microcontrollers in the both units. The main controller unit will send those sensed data as well as the location of that patient by the help of GPS Module to the observer/doctor. The observer/doctor can receive the SMS sent by GSM module and further decision can be taken. The message is sent to a mobile phone using Global system mobile (GSM) Modem. MAX232 was a driver between microcontroller and modem.

Abstract: Many techniques are using for the elimination of duplicate copies of repeating data, from that techniques, one of the important data compression technique is data duplication. Many advantages with this data duplication, mainly it will reduce the amount of storage space and save the bandwidth when using in cloud storage. To protect confidentiality of the sensitive data while supporting de-duplication data is encrypted by the proposed convergent encryption technique before out sourcing. Problems authorized data duplication formally addressed by the first attempt of this paper for better protection of data security. This is different from the traditional duplication systems. The differential privileges of users are further considered in duplicate check besides the data itself. In hybrid cloud architecture authorized duplicate check supported by several new duplication constructions. Based on the definitions specified in the proposed security model, our scheme is secure in terms of definition and implementation.

Abstract: The explosive growth of demands on big data processing imposes a heavy burden on computation, storage, and communication in data centers, which hence incurs considerable operational expenditure to data center providers. Therefore, cost minimization has become an emergent issue for the upcoming big data era. Different from conventional cloud services, one of the main features of big data services is the tight coupling between data and computation as computation tasks can be conducted only when the corresponding data are available. As a result, three factors, i.e., task assignment, data placement, and data movement, deeply influence the operational expenditure of data centers. In this paper, we are motivated to study the cost minimization problem via a joint optimization of these three factors for big data services in geo-distributed data centers. To describe the task completion time with the consideration of both data transmission and computation, we propose a 2-D Markov chain and derive the average task completion time in closed-form. Furthermore, we model the problem as a mixed-integer nonlinear programming and propose an efficient solution to linearize it. The high efficiency of our proposal is validated by extensive simulation-based studies.
