Abstract: Digital technologies have brought impacts to higher education, that force the universities to change their current business model. For the university to be in top ranking is a time for transformation into the new digital age and Industrial Revolution 4.0 by establishing humanizing education that creates value to the customer segments and makes the university to stay relevant in the competitive market. The aim of this paper is to seek the way on how to transform the current university into the digital capabilities, this paper uses the design thinking and system thinking approach in the transformation into the digital age and Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR 4.0). By using business modelling tools such as Business model canvas (BMC), Value proposition canvas (VPC), Environmental map (EM) and Strategy canvas (SC) those helps in the process of analyzing, evaluating and designing business model option for the purposes of creating value to the future university. The methodology used in this paper is based on the literature review, business modelling tools, and validation from the interviews to enhance the designing of future universities business models. The sample size for the interviewers was 32 students including undergraduate, postgraduate, international, local and worked students.

Abstract: The use of educational technology device in teaching and learning has emerged over the years, in the Nigerian education system. Despite their affordances and usage in some of the secondary schools, many teachers find it difficult to integrate ICT related tools especially, Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) in their classroom activities. The 21st century teachers teaching in the developing countries in Africa, particularly in Nigeria, face some challenges in the area of effective use of IWB in their classrooms. This study investigates the use of Interactive Whiteboard and examine the influences of teachers’ prior ICT experience on the use of IWB. This study employed qualitative research design with 7 teachers to ascertain the teachers’ perceptions and use of IWB in teaching through interview technique. The data collected was analyzed by using quantitative methods of data analysis. Thematic based approached was applied for the qualitative data obtained. The finding revealed that teachers with prior ICT experience have positive perception towards the use of IWB in teaching. In addition, the prior ICT experience of the teachers seem to have influenced the use of IWB.

Abstract: Organizations are often faced with challenges related to producing organization level scaled agile metrics which can help measure the progress of agile transformation initiative in an organization, and assess the impact of agile transformation on program execution and delivery. There are many team level metrics in agile which are helpful at team level only and most cannot be scaled at Organization level. Also, the metrics must need to be customer/ business focused so business /customer / end user and stakeholders can relate to it, and understand the benefit of agile execution. Objective of this paper is to share the organization level agile metrics and measures which are customer focused, can be applied at team level, and scaled to organization level. This will provide a consistent way of measurement so comparisons can be drawn across delivery organizations both at team and organization level. IT industry will benefit from these metrics and measures as with these metrics organizations can measure the success of their agile transformation initiative, compare the health of agile execution across delivery organizations, and relate the benefits of Agile execution and agile transformation so business and customer can understand and appreciate it. These metrics have been experimented both at team and organization level based on which suggested targets are also shared for these metrics. Our aim is to further evaluate and evolve these metrics and measures.

Abstract: To identify the most appropriate recommendation model for an e-commerce business, a live evaluation should be performed on the shopping website to measure the influence of personalization in real-time. The aim of this paper is to introduce and justify two new metrics — CTR-NoRepeat and Click & Buy rate — which stem from the standard metrics, Click-through(CTR) and Buy-through rate(BTR), respectively. The former variation tackles the issue of overestimation of clicks in the original CTR while the latter accounts for noting purchases of products that have been previously clicked, in order to validate that the buy included in the metric is a result of customer interactions. A significance test for independence of two means is conducted for multiple datasets, between each of the new metrics and its respective parent to determine the novelty and necessity of the variants. The Pearson-correlation coefficient is calculated to assess the strength of the linear relationships and conclude on the predictability factor amongst the aforementioned factors to investigate unknown connections between customer clicks and buys. Additionally, other metrics such as hits per customer, buyers per customer, clicks per customer etc. are introduced that help explain indicators of customer behavior on the e-commerce website in reference.

Abstract: This Research Paper investigates how Predicate Based Encryption (PBE) could be leveraged within the Cloud to protect data. PBE is a novel family of asymmetric encryption schemes in which decryption of a cipher-text is dependent upon a set of attributes satisfying a certain predicate, allowing for selective ne-grained access control to be specied over cipher-texts. It is argued that obfuscation of one's data is not enough when seeking to protect data. The control of how one's data is used and the trust a orded to service providers is equally as important. To this end, three archetypal scenarios are described that illustrate ways in which service users could specify precisely with whom they wish to share their data, for what purpose, and for how long. Furthermore, two additional scenarios are presented that would allow a service provider to facilitate keyword search over encrypted data using expressive queries supporting conjunction and disjunction of terms.

Abstract: In image processing mechanism recognition of images, plays a key role and it is applied all over methods of processing with a techniques. Cucumber is broadly cultivated vegetable, due to its delicious taste and short vegetative cycle. Matured field grown cucumbers to be harvest in time of their quick maturity stage. It will harvest to reduce the quality of vegetable and it slows the mature to next one. But the problem is need of many workers for short farming, so the cucumber harvesting robot need to be utilized by our existing system. In existing system the robots are used to harvest field grown cucumbers to realize machine learning examples. In our proposed work we recognize field grown cucumbers using color difference mechanism, but in existing they have only used shape based methods, it only gives 80% of accuracy. Using of color difference mechanism with shape difference gives more accuracy.

Title: ENHANCED DETECTION OF FIELD GROWN CUCUMBERS USING MACHINE LEARNING TECHNIQUES

Abstract: The study utilized the descriptive research design employing trend analysis method. It aimed to examine the different components of evaluation performance indicators in the extent of implementation of the technology transfer training program for trainee-respondents of Iloilo Science and Technology University- Barotac Campus in the past 4 years, 2014-2017. The 88 trainee-respondents from the adopted barangays evaluated the programs conducted through QF-ESD-04 instruments. Results indicated that the components rated by the trainee-respondents performed better in the sixth indicator in the years 2015. However, lowest performance rating is seen in the year 2014 and 2017 but described better. Moreover, the results explicate that after the very low performance rating of the year 2015 but described as good, on the other hand, the performance of the training gradually increases until year 2017 and described better. Thus, the lowest ratings evaluated by the trainee-respondents of the different components of the (4) programs conducted of the institution serves as basis for recommendation for the improvement of the implementation of University extension programs and projects.

Abstract: As the data regarding biological genetics has grown exponentially, the ability for scientists to access this data has diminished. This made it more essential to have a consistent representation in a specific domain for Gene Ontology (GO) where it will be easier to retrieve information about genes of interest. Promising advances in data semantics and artificial logic have led to the development of ontologies that have the ability to tie together vast amounts of information from disparate locations and formats into a single, useable interface.  One such project, the Gene Ontology, is discussed below along with an evaluation if the GO’s effectiveness and weaknesses. In this research, we first review the motivation behind the development of the GO and some of its major design principles. Then we describe the possibility of extending this ontology for use in other fields. After that, we will do an evaluation based on some evaluation metrics. Finally, we highlight some of the practical uses and applications of GO.

Abstract: To stay relevant and maintain clientele growth, Kenyan banks are progressively working on introducing new and innovative products and service channels to leverage changing technology. The establishment of these new products and channels is regularly conducted through IT project teams which comprise of the bank and non-bank staff particularly when the new technology is purchased from external parties. Although it is likely that projects run by banks would be smooth and eventually deliver on the anticipated benefits for the business, many examples have been witnessed in the Kenyan banking industry whereby IT projects that were planned to take just six months have been very unsuccessful taking more time, costing more money than budgeted and delivering far less benefits that were anticipated. Based on the above-mentioned disclosures, the researcher aimed to find out the factors affecting the success of Information Technology projects in Kenyan banks a case study of Chase Bank Kenya as a case study. The dependent variable for the study was the success of Information Technology projects, and the independent variables were Project Planning, Project Management Team, Project communication, and Project Monitoring and evaluation. The study used descriptive research design approach to analyze Chase Bank Kenya from where a target population of 100 staff at head office which engages on operations of project management was identified as the target population. The sample size was 80 which was calculated at using Yamane formula. Data collection was done through structured questions in a questionnaire to collect qualitative. The scope of the study was limited to the six projects started and completed at Chase Bank Kenya from 2014 to 2018. Findings established that: project planning influences project implementation at (P=0.001); there is no significant relationship between team management and project management (P=0.206); there is a positive correlation between communication and project management (P=0.001) and project monitoring and evaluation influences project implementation at (P=0.001). The researcher concludes that that planning, communication and monitoring and evaluation influenced project implementation to a great extent while team management influence project implementation to a moderate degree. The researcher recommends that all project stakeholders should be involved from the initiation stage to completion of the project as well as allocating proper allocation of resources to avoid underutilization.

Abstract: An automatic vehicle locator (AVL) is an IoT application widely used in companies and organizations for the safety and security management of their mobile assets, such as vehicles, engines, ships, equipment, etc. AVL is generally used to track and locate assets in real-time as an essential function, using the global positioning system or GPS. The application relies on the extensive mapping that has been done to support GPS-based applications and satellite services. AVL has many benefits, such as assets utilization, optimization, and maintenance of historical data records, among others. The application creates a specific user interface to locate and track a mobile object on a map quickly. The AVL systems (AVLs) provide organizations with a tool to optimize their fleet by giving an overview of how the vehicles are used, and can be relocated within the organization based on the organization’s needs. Moreover, AVLs track the assets in real-time, which contribute significantly to the security and safety of the people during emergencies situation. AVL systems have a specific module for the maintenance with alerts for a periodical check-up to keep the assets healthy.
