Abstract: This paper presents a brief overview of a Partial discharge measurement implemented using LabVIEW. A Partial discharge is a localized electrical discharge that partially bridges the insulation between conductors and which can occur adjacent to a conductor. In high voltage devices such as transformers, a discharge is a sign of a problem due to aging, floating components and insulation breakdown. In this study, efforts have been made to investigate the partial discharge (PD) phenomenon in terms of phase, magnitude and number of PD pulses by using LabVIEW. A LabVIEW based program is developed to acquire continuous PD data.

Abstract: The development in health informatics has brought a change. In  the world of aging population, prevalance of chronic diseases and outbreaks of infectious, can be overcome by the help of health informatics. Due early prediction there can be measures taken  accordingly. Sensor can be weaved or integrated to clothes, accessories and the surrounding environmrnt, such that the health informatics can work seamlessly and pervasively on daily use. The paper aims to provide an overview of the wearable device through smart phones. It helps to keep a track of heart rate, blood preassure, ecg and temperature of ones body through the help of  sensors. It even includes: 1) smart textile, 2) flexible stretchable printable electronics, 4) sensor fusion and 5) unobtrusive sensing and then to identify some future directions of research.

Abstract: The importance of base station as a wireless access point is rapidly growing and huge data volumes are being transported through the base station, so the power consumption became an critical issue. In this paper, a new radio resource management algorithm is proposed which aims the reduction of supply power consumption at the base station for multi-user MIMO-OFDM. The proposed algorithm optimizes power-saving mechanisms for discontinuous transmission, antenna adaptation and power control. In our proposed method supply power consumption is reduced by using efficient multi-user resource allocation management technique. Our MATLAB simulation results shows that our proposed algorithm minimizes the supply power consumption at base station by large scale and it depends on the different system loads.

Abstract: In this paper, A Novel high speed Analysis of SRAM circuit that employs adiabatic charging of a word line during a read operation was found to provide a large dynamic noise margin (DNM) for reading and CAM memory by using a reordered overlapped search mechanism for high-throughput low-energy. In our circuit implementation in CAM memory cell, each word circuit is independently controlled by a locally generated timing signal rather than a global signal. In SRAM an analysis of the time-wise change in DNM revealed that the read noise margin of this circuit was 1.9 times larger than that of a conventional two-BL circuit. But in asynchronous CAM operates 5.98 times faster than a synchronous CAM with 14.2% smaller energy dissipation.

Abstract: The ratio between real or average power and apparent power known as power factor has a high impact on power system industries. Efficient usage of the real power is very indicative in developing a power system. In the nonlinear system, loads are the main source of harmonics. The current drawn by power electronic interfaces from the line is distorted resulting in a high total Harmonic Distortion and low p.f. this creates adverse effects on the power system include increased magnitudes of neutral currents in three phase systems, overheating in transformers and induction motors. This paper aims to develop a circuit for PFC by using active filtering approach by implementing two (single & dual) boost converters arranged in parallel, for improving circuit quality and switching loss. This work actually involves simulation of basic power electronic circuit We focused to improve the condition of input current waveforms for making it sinusoidal by tuning the circuits.

Abstract: This paper presents a global localization system for an indoor autonomous vehicle equipped with odometry sensors and a Near Field Communication (NFC) reader to interrogate tags located on the ceiling of the environment. The Near Field Communication (NFC) reader can measure the phase of the signals coming from responding tags. This phase has non-univocal dependence on the distance robot tag, but in the considered frequency, it is really sensitive to a change in the position of the robot. In this system is used for surveillance in security applications. For this reason, a multi hypothesis Kalman filtering approach provides a really satisfactory performance even in the case that a very small amount experimental tests, an average position estimation error of about 4 cm is achieved using only two tags for an area of about 5m2.

Abstract: In this paper, a discrete time power system stabilizer is designed for silent-pole synchronous generator connected to infinite bus. In this study, the synchronous generator is represented by simplified transient model in qd rotating reference frame. In simplified model both the damper windings and changing in flux linkages are neglected during transient period. The rise of electricity demand in a power system and the widely spread of networked control systems require the use of discrete-time devices. Digital devices are widely spread and play an essential task in the operation and control of power systems. Several kinds of digital controlled devices have been put into practical use in power systems for the last decade, such as power system stabilizers PSS, proportional-integral plus derivative PID controllers and automatic voltage regulators AVR.The power system stabilizer is represented by a three-pole three-zero, lead-lag type PSS. The effects of sampling time and PSS parameters are simulated and examined. TRUETIME simulink library is used to implement the discrete PSS through networked control system.

Abstract: One of the major problems observed in distribution system in recent days is Power Quality. Today most of the people are using the sophisticated electrical equipment based on semiconductor device, these equipment pollute the power quality. Hence there is a need to improve voltage profile. The Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) is recognized as the best solution for mitigation of voltage sag associated problems in the highly taped distribution system. This work presents the simulation modeling and analysis of advanced DVR system for solving these problems. The three phase fault is creating in the system and for analyzing the result. The role of DVR is to compensate the load current and voltage is investigated during the fault condition. Over all the DVR is improving the voltage quality as well as the reactive power demand during the uncharacteristic condition.

Abstract: This paper presents a review study for hybrid intelligent optimization for operating solar generators in electric distribution system. A number of optimization techniques have been proposed in the literature review to solve optimization for solar generators in electric distribution system to meet the operational controls such as voltage drops, transmission limits, and voltage unbalance limits. This paper introduces the extensive of solar generators which are also called micro Fits. This paper has led to the development of optimization algorithm for minimizing phase unbalances in distribution systems by controlling the states of the existing system tools and resources. A decision making process has been developed in order to determine a single optimum solution from the Pareto front generated. Operational controls such as voltage drop, transmission limits and voltage unbalance limits, are taken in to consideration in this analysis. In the context of smart grids, the proposed algorithm will facilitate the deployment of small sized solar generators. The main motive deals with the minimization of current unbalance index and energy loss associated with the system during the specified period and by reducing the voltage unbalance and voltage profile is kept within acceptable limits.

Abstract: An interleaved OFDMA framework with carrier frequency offset (CFO) correction plan is implemented. The past recommendations for OFDMA adjusting for the CFO impact at the OFDMA recipient can stay numerous access impedance In our project carrier offset correction plans have been proposed to relieve the interference impact, we found that the minimum mean square error (MMSE) execution of demodulated signs is identified with a typical corrected CFO (CCFO) esteem which was redressed using discrete time fourier transformation DTFT. Abstract: This paper discusses the design, implementation and analysis of a three phase capacitor bank controller unit. Power factor correction using capacitor banks reduces reactive power consumption which will lead to minimization of losses and at the same time increases the electrical system’s efficiency. Most of the industrial installations have large electrical loads which are inductive in nature, which results in a lagging power factor. Power factor is the value of a system that reflects how much power is being borrowed from the power company for the system. Many power companies regulate industrial power factors to make sure that they do not fall below a certain level and charge the customer more on their utility bills if the power factor falls below a certain level. This work is to make a system that will switch capacitor banks when the power factor drops below a certain point to avoid power company charges. PLC is used to control of switching on/off capacitor bank to improve power factor.
