Abstract: The purpose of this research is for the students of engineering, especially electrical, mechanical and electronics to have a laboratory equipment that can prepare the newly graduates of the said courses. The trainer will enhance their practical skills specially using relays as substitute to PLC, which is a common skill needed in the industry. Mixed method was used in the study since the research is both qualitative and quantitative: the researchers needed to use one method (based on electromechanical relays) to inform another method (based on PLC). This study wants to elaborate, clarify, or build on findings from other methods. The results show that the research prototype got high scores of approvals in terms of functionality and reliability in both testing conducted by the researchers and evaluated by the professional and student respondents. It has a grand mean of 4.92 for functionality, and scoring 4.88 for reliability. Hence, it can be concluded that the prototype can function properly and is reliable for the students to acquire the said important skills needed in the industry. It is recommended to improve the components of the prototype such as its motors and the quantity of timer.

Abstract: The purpose of this research is for engineering students and faculty members, especially electronics, electrical, and mechanical engineering to have an instrumentation and control laboratory trainer that can measure flow rate, water level, temperature, and pressure, and control the latter three parameters. Mixed method was used in this study since this research is both qualitative and quantitative. The results show that the trainer prototype is properly functional as evaluated by engineering students and faculty members. The validation data shows that it has an overall grand mean of 4.72 for its functionality. Hence, it can be concluded that the prototype can properly function as intended and is a reliable trainer for engineering students to learn applications of instrumentation and control. It is recommended that future researchers need to improve the design and add more functions for the prototype such as devices that can provide a more accurate and faster control and materials that can withstand more extreme conditions.

Abstract: This paper presents the efficiency of the D-size dry cell brands commonly used in Uganda. Six dry cell brands, Tiger Head Red (THR), Tiger head extra (THE), Panasuper (PS), Panasonic (PN), Energizer (EG) and Durasonic (DU) were evaluated on ideal household conditions in accordance to the International Electrochemical Commission (IEC) and European Union (EU) final report on portable battery standards. Each brand’s average capacity was found when being used in a household radio and torch.

The study revealed that Energizer (EG) performed best and Tiger Head Red (THR) least in a radio while as in a torch, Tiger Head Extra (THE) performed best and Panasuper (PS) least. This showed that different battery cell brands perform differently in different household devices.

Abstract: Automatic awning system will recover difficulties of opening and closing the awning manually and provide an option to be controlled automatically and remotely by using the phone. An awning is improving the conditioners efficiency and minimizing the heat gain entering from windows and doors. As well it gives extra protection against rain and wind entering houses and reducing the load on the air conditioners. Many types of research and literatures reviewed have been conducted that show similar principle, but it is used for different projects and anyhow help a lot to simplify the design and working methodology of the project. The project consists of LDR sensor to measure light intensity, Arduino Nano which is the main controller to control the system by reading the inputs and turn it into an output to activate the motor, send commands to LCD and communicate with SIM800L. Also, to drive a stepper motor forward and reverse function with controlling the speed is used motor drive module L298N. Also, GSM module SIM800L is used to send SMS to the user through controlling of Arduino to know the awning position. Solar panel with 15W supplies the rechargeable battery to feed the system by 12V. There are switches used to operate the motor manually in case automatic get to fail. The system is monitored continuously, and any change in awning position observed that the user in charge would receive SMS to know the position status and if system gets intervened by another user. The project is identified and designed as required with circuits schematic, hardware and software implementation. The results demonstrate that automatic awning system was functioning as required and there was a response from the system for any commands given either automatically or manually and as well as remotely through SMS. The test and result analyze conducted after checking the functionality of all the project which will see them in separate chapters. This project can be used for car parking, windows, front of doors or setting areas. It is useful anywhere at home, government buildings, industrial areas, restaurants, swimming pools, car shed and shops.

Abstract: Due to fast development of technology, future communication and transmission are totally depends upon wireless network. Wireless networking has become an important area of research in academic and industry. This thesis is provides the analysis of the two emerging broadband wireless technology Wi-Fi and WIMAX, both of this IEEE MAC standard. With emerging technologies and higher data rate requirements new ways of communications are being developed. In Main challenges of Wi-Fi is security, limited Area, lower rate of data speed etc... We have solved these challenges using WiMAX. In this thesis we have implemented WiMAX MAC/802.16 standard and compare with Wi-Fi MAC/802.11 using AODV routing scheme. and we have found  from simulation experimental Analysis the behavior of the network And finally have evaluated their performances in terms of delay and load. And It has been observed that the performance of the WiMAX is better than the Wi-Fi.

Abstract: This paper proposes an appropriated active compensation method for eliminating the harmonic pollution in a distribution network. The proposed distributive active compensation scheme covers a number of multi active component filter units that were started at the same area or various areas within the power systems. Optimum positioning of Active compensation stays on dragging in momentous observation, in view of the strong effect on power efficiency and advancement of semiconductor power devices by users. Active filter channel innovation is the most productive approach to repay and counteract the voltage distortions hailing from nonlinear loads and this Numerous Distributive Active Compensation (NDAC) worked as a shunt compensation scheme from the congregation of nonlinear loads, so the ensuring collective voltage drawn from the ac source is sinusoidal. Droop housing in between the harmonized conductance and the volt-ampere (VA) of the AFU is modified into the controller of each one unit, so diverse AFUs can communicate the workload of harmonic minimization without any correspondences. The compensation process is focused around idea of PQ theory. This proposed numerous distributive active compensation schemes is tested on 9-bus radial as well as non-radial distribution systems is verified and simulated through MATLAB-SIMULINK environment.

Abstract: Quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) are promising models in nanotechnology based on the single electron effects of quantum dots and molecules. The present study designs and simulates the basic elements or Combinational circuit. A 2-to-4 decoder has been designed and implemented before with the help of numbers of three-input majority voters and successfully implemented in QCA. The design and simulation of a new decoder circuit on QCA with minimum delay, area and complexity we will try to design, simulate and compare with previous designs. The design is optimized by considerably reducing the number of cell counts and QCA wire crossings. The decoder is more robust and enjoys single layer wire crossing, via clock phasing, which requires only one type of cell .we try to implement that the proposed decoder circuit performs equally well compared to existing decoder designs and performs better in case of previous coplanar decoder designs with enable input functionality in all aspects.

We are study and try to design our own circuitry to overcome issue on complex relation for designing a decoder circuit remove or less wire crossing or multi layer option here we understand the last function with help of Boolean function of decoder circuit and realize in single design For This purpose we allow to choose different methodology and design techniques.  We have tried to study some of decoder circuit designs on the basis of simulation results to move forward with our own designs for the purpose. QCADesigner software is used to create a detailed layout and for circuit simulation. The circuits simulated using QCADesigner.

Abstract: The Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has been working on developing specifications on Wireless Communications Technology (WCT) and on emerging Internet of Things(IOT) bringing the light into associated service and network requirements. This paper presents the special form of WCT and IOT communication, where one communication device automatically communicates with other device through IOT. The initial efforts towards the so called combination of wireless communication and internet of things and the specifications are based on group communications and on proximity service features, both originally developed for mission critical communications. Such standardization efforts are enhanced and also integrated in the new service model enabled by the gated community, with the ordinary vendors being one of the major players. This paper provides the comprehensive study elaborating the current standards for enabling livelihood of vendors considering the co-existence if 3GPP, WCT and IOT, while analyzing potential open challenges
