Abstract: Alternating current bridge methods are of outstanding importance for measurement of electrical quantities. Measurement of inductance, capacitance, storage factor, loss factor may be made conveniently and accurately by employing a.c. bridge network. The purpose of this paper is to measure unknown inductance and capacitance by using single a.c. bridge with the help of switching network. The bridge is a combination of Maxwell’s inductance capacitance bridge use to measure inductance of inductor and Schering bridge use for measurement of capacitance of capacitor.The methodology use for the measurement is to observe no sound from the detector i.e. making the bridge in balance condition and then applying the balance condition.

Abstract: The Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO)-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is considered a key technology in modern wireless-access communication systems. The IEEE 802.16e standard, also denoted as mobile WiMAX, utilizes the MIMO-OFDM technology and it was one of the first initiatives towards the roadmap of fourth generation systems. This paper presents the PHY-layer design, implementation and validation of a high-performance real-time 2x2 MIMO mobile WiMAX transmitter that accounts for low-level deployment issues and signal impairments. The focus is mainly laid on the impact of the selected high bandwidth, which scales the implementation complexity of the baseband signal processing algorithms. The latter also requires an advanced pipelined memory architecture to timely address the datapath operations that involve high memory utilization.

Abstract: Coal Analyzer has been developed, capable of measuring the major and minor chemical elements contained in coal. The system utilizes nuclear reactions produced from fast and thermal neutrons, as well as from neutron activation of isotopes with half-lives of seconds or minutes. Characteristic gamma rays detected with BGO detectors are used for the identification of the various chemical elements. We have designed the electrical system and research position of some equipment and the way of their connections. For some redundant components, the electronic system is optimized to improve the accuracy and stability of the system. According to the preliminary performance test, the system has achieved the expected design target.

Abstract: The real numbers represented in binary format are known as floating point numbers. Based on IEEE-754 standard, floating point formats are classified into single precision and double precision. The advantage of floating-point representation over fixed point representation is that it can support a much wider range of values  Floating point multipliers are key components of many high performance systems such as FIR filters, Microprocessors, Digital Signal Processors etc. Hence, this project aims to design a 64-bit double precision floating point multiplier by using vedic multiplication. Vedic multiplier is a special kind of multiplier which is capable to multiply more number of bits at a time, at faster rate than conventional multiplier.  The proposed multiplier can be designed using Verilog HDL and it is implemented on a Xilinx ISE 14.3 tool targeting the Spartan device.

Abstract: This paper presents the load flow calculation of the power system for IEEE-5 and IEEE-30 bus system. The Load flow calculation is the backbone of power system analysis and design. They are essential for planning, operation, economic scheduling and exchange of power among utilities. The primary information of load flow calculation is to determine the voltage magnitude and phase angle at each bus in the system in addition with real power and reactive power flow in each transmission lines. In this analysis, iterative schemes are used due to there no known analytical scheme to solve the problem. To finish this analysis there are methods of Mathematical calculations which consist plenty of step depend on the size of system. This process is difficult and takes a lot of times to perform by hand. The objective of this project is to develop a programming in MATLAB SOFTWARE for load flow analysis that will help the analysis become easier.

Abstract: Power supply, which is used to energize the ion pump, has to be able to meet a fairly wide range of load variation. While operating at a high pressure, since the characteristics of the pump is such, that a glow discharge appears between anode and cathode, the pump draws rather heavy current from the supply. In this condition, the voltage across the pump is very low or near to zero. At that time the current is high which is called short circuit current. The actual value of this current is dependent on the intensity of the electric discharge and is also governed by the geometry and the capacity of the pump. As the pumping action get under way, the discharge intensity comes down, thereby reducing the current that has to be handled by the power supply. With the change in pressure there is the proportional change in the current. And from this current the pressure generated can be inferred. As the current decreases the voltage across the pump increases and when the pressure gets to order of 10-8 torr, the voltage ranges to its maximum value (negative).

Abstract: A distributed generation is a kind of a generation unit which can be installed at the end user location or even at the vicinity of large scale production plants to fulfill the needs of the consumer or the power plant of a particular location. A distributed generation when connected to the distribution network give rise to a number of disturbances in the power systems such as disturbances in the voltage profile of the network, disturbances in the active power, reactive power, voltage sag and swell, flicker etc due to these effects the network gets disturbed or unbalanced with the introduction of the DG onto the network grid. This paper suggests the various methods required to compensate these disturbances and thereby making the system under consideration more reliable and efficient. The methods discussed here are used for the compensation of disturbances in the voltage profile, active power and reactive power.

Abstract: A keyless entry system is an electronic lock that controls access to a building or vehicle without using a traditional mechanical key. The term keyless entry system originally meant a lock controlled by a keypad located at or near the driver's door that required pressing a predetermined numeric code for entry. Intra-body communication (IBC) is a novel data transmission method that uses the human body as medium to transmit the data. In this project an adaptive learning algorithm is implemented on micro-controller to control vehicle (on/off) for the data which is transmitted through human body. By using adaptive learning algorithm it is possible to find an optimal set of difficult input variables with great accuracy to control the vehicle.

Abstract: Convolution is one of the fundamental operations of the signal processing system and it can be employed by types of multiplication. Here linear convolution is performed by Vedic multiplier which is based on one of the sixteen sutras in Vedic mathematics, called Urdhava Triyagbhyam Sutra. Urdhava Triyagbhyam multiplier provides better result in speed compared to other conventional multiplier. Pipelining architecture in the multiplier increases the timing performance of the multiplier hence such multiplier is used to compute linear convolution of two sequences. This is a novel approach to compute convolution using pipelining architecture. The simulation and synthesis are performed by using Model Sim and Xilinx ISE Design suite 13.4 and power analysis is performed by using Xilinx Xpower Analyzer. Simulated result for proposed pipelined convolution shows 24.24% lesser propagation delay compared to convolution without using pipelining.

Abstract: WIMAX (IEEE802.16) is an alternative solution to traditional wired broadband techniques due to its cost efficiency. Being an emerging technology, WiMAX supports multimedia applications such as voice over IP (VoIP) and video conference. It is necessary to provide Quality of Service (QoS) guaranteed with different characteristics for Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) networks. Therefore, an effective scheduling is critical for the WiMAX system. Many traffic scheduling algorithms are available for wireless networks, e.g. strict priority, Weighted Round Robin and Round Robin scheme. This paper uses an effective video transmission using H.264video codec over Wimax networks using fuzzy based scheduling algorithm. To support various services by considering the QoS constraint with respect to BER, PSNR, Throughput, delay of rtps class. H.264 video compression and decompression  is used to provide high quality video at low bit rate without increasing the complexity of the design The proposed scheme provides better  QoS support for each class efficiently for WiMAX using MATLAB simulation.

Abstract: Steganography is the art of hiding the fact that communication is taking place, by hiding information in other information. It can also be defined as the study of invisible communication that usually deals with the ways of hiding the existence of the communicated message. Generally data embedding is achieved in communication, image, text, voice or multimedia content for copyright, military communication, authentication and many other purposes. Security of confidential information has always been a major issue from the past times to the present time. It has always been the interested topic for researchers to develop secure techniques to send data without revealing it to anyone other than the receiver. Therefore from time to time researchers have developed many techniques to fulfil secure transfer of data and steganography is one of them. Many different carrier file formats can be used, but digital images are the most popular because of their frequency on the Internet. For hiding secret information in images, there exists a large variety of steganographic techniques some are more complex than others and all of them have respective strong and weak points. Different applications have different requirements of the steganography technique used. For example, some applications may require absolute invisibility of the secret information, while others require a larger secret message to be hidden. This paper intends to give an overview of image steganography, its uses and techniques. It also attempts to identify the requirements of a good steganographic algorithm and briefly reflects on which steganographic techniques are more suitable for which applications.

Abstract: this paper proposes, a simple control strategy for DSTATCOM with communication in loop is proposed. The proposed reactive compensation technique is based on the voltage sag and the power flow in the line. The power flow and the voltage at different locations of the feeders are communicated to the DSTATCOM to modulate the reactive compensation. The single-phase DSTATCOM compensates for the reactive power deficiency in the phase while the DGs supply “maximum available active power.” During reactive power limit of the DG, the “maximum available active power” is fixed to a value lower than maximum active power to increase reactive power injection capability of the DGs. A primary control loop based on local measurement in the DSTATCOM always ensures a part of reactive compensation in case of communication failure. It is shown that the proposed method can always ensure to achieve acceptable voltage regulation. The data traffic analysis of the communication scheme and closed-loop simulation of power network and communication network are presented to validate the proposed method.

Abstract: The environmental concerns, limitation of building new transmission lines, increasing transmittable power and reducing transmission losses are among the main reasons to install series capacitors on transmission lines. In this paper, the authors have proposed a new algorithm which utilizes the positive sequence network, in order to determine the fault location on series compensated parallel transmission lines. The proposed scheme is based on the superposition positive sequence current signal from local end. The proposed method does not require voltage signals as well as remote-end data. Furthermore, it eliminates effects of series compensation and mutual coupling on locating fault point. To evaluate the proposed method, different fault scenarios were simulated on 400kV, 300km series compensated parallel transmission line using EMTDC/PSCAD software. The result of simulations determines the high accuracy of the proposed method in pinpointing faults.

Abstract: A poor E-Security can result in the corruption of files and can enable criminals and others to access personal and financial information; the loss of trust, confidence and respect exact a far higher financial toll. In this paper the Iris recognition techniques is applied to access control and provide strong e-security. The iris is a portion of the inner eye of an individual and contains an abstract and randomly generated texture pattern arising from orientation of complex tissues within the region. The complexity and randomness of the iris also its genetic properties - no two eyes are the same, the characteristic that is dependent on genetics is the pigmentation of the iris, which determines its color and determines the gross anatomy. Details of development, that are unique to each case, determine the detailed morphology amongst various other factors, ensure that this biometric system is inarguably an exact and reliable method of identification. We shall focus on an efficient methodology of which wavelet transform is the algorithm responsible for image extraction.
