Abstract: This paper deals with the 12 pulse convertor for rectification process. Three-phase thyristor rectifiers have been used in industries for obtaining a variable dc voltage, but the lower order harmonics are the major problem present in the input currents of these systems.12- pulse convertor configuration is very useful in high power applications, but the (12m ± 1)th (m: integer) harmonics are still presents in the system. Thus this paper proposes the further reduction in harmonics using auxiliary supply and analyses the performance of a dc motor supplied by the 12 pulse convertor with auxiliary voltage supply assisted.

Abstract: This work presents the design and characterization of 6 full adder circuits in a 50-nm technology. This Based on the logic function realized, the adders have been characterized for performance area and power consumption. The impact of sum and carry propagation delays on the performance, power of these systems have been evaluated. The study of the above work has been carried using Micro wind 3.1 CAD tool with detailed transistor level simulations in a 50-nm technology process.

Abstract: In the wireless communication technology, error propagation is one of the issues presented in the recent year. To overcome the error propagation, system BCPPM is proposed. Using BCPPM system two-bit information is transmitted to the receiver in each channel. So this scheme improves the communication efficiency. The turbo code is used for parallel communication that focused to mitigate the effect of noise. The proposed system is secure, insensitive to the channel distortion and convenient for multiple access communication. The simulation result shows that the BCPPM system has lower bit error rate (BER) compared with CPPM and chaotic pulse on-off-keying (CPOOK). In hardware, using turbo codes the bit error rate (BER) performance is evaluated and implemented on the FPGA kit.

Abstract: A smart helmet is a special idea which makes motorcycle driving safer than before. This is implemented using GSM and GPS technology. The working of this smart helmet is very simple, vibration sensors are placed in different places of helmet where the probability of hitting is more which are connected to microcontroller board. So when the rider crashes and the helmet hit the ground, these sensors sense and gives to the microcontroller board, then controller extract GPS data using the GPS module that is interfaced to it. When the data exceeds minimum stress limit then GSM module automatically sends message to ambulance or family members.

Abstract: This paper presents a simulation of the speed control of a separately excited direct current motor (SEDM) using fuzzy logic control (FLC) in Matlab/Simulink environment. A fuzzy logic controller was designed to vary the motor’s speed by varying the armature voltage of the separately excited DC motor in the constant torque region (below the rated speed). The simulation results show that the armature voltage control method is better than field control method with regards to delay time and overshoot.

Abstract: The present system of energy billing in India is error prone and also time and labour consuming. Errors get introduced at every stage of energy billing like errors with electro-mechanical meters, human errors while noting down the meter reading and error while processing the paid bills and the due bills. The remedy for this drawback is a prepaid energy billing. A GSM-based Energy Recharge Interface which contains a prepaid card equivalent to a mobile SIM card. The prepaid card communicates with the power utility using GSM communication network. Once the prepaid card is out of balance, the consumer load is disconnected from the utility supply by the latching Relay (contactor). The power utility can recharge the prepaid card remotely through SMS mode base on customer requests. GSM-Based Recharge System (GBRS) for single phase prepaid meter has been modelled and simulated in Matlab/Simulink environment. A prior billing is bound to do away with the problems of unpaid bills and human error in meter readings, thereby ensuring justified revenue for the utility. In electric meter with reliability credit and cost control we have provide only one time extra credit when consumer needed in emergency. The cost of the energy charge per unit as per government rules and regulations is controlled by the authorized person only. So that charges of energy per unit is managed.

Abstract: This paper describes a system of AES algorithm in optimized manner. The Advanced Encryption Standard can be programmed in software or built with pure hardware. However Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) offer a quicker, more optimized solution. This design includes the AES algorithm with regard to Area optimized software model by using the Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description language (VHDL). Xilinx ISE project Navigator 14.1 software is used for simulation and optimization of the synthesizable VHDL code. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has initiated a process to develop a Federal information Processing Standard (FIPS) for the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), specifying an Advanced Encryption Algorithm to replace the Data Encryption standard (DES) the Expired in 1998. All the transformations of both Encryptions and Decryption are simulated using an iterative design approach in order to minimize the hardware consumption. The project is designed by reducing the number of slices in Software AES model, the area optimized AES-128 Bit structure produced by this project which gives most optimized structure as compared with previous results.

Abstract: This paper presents selection of optimal location and tap setting for voltage regulators in Unbalanced Radial Distribution Systems (URDS). Power loss index (PLI) is used for the selection of optimal location of voltage regulators and Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used for selecting the tap position of voltage regulator in an unbalanced radial distribution system. This algorithm makes the initial selection and tap position setting of the voltage regulators to minimize power losses and provide a good voltage profile along the distribution network. The effectiveness of the proposed method is illustrated on a test system of IEEE 33 bus unbalanced radial distribution systems.

Abstract: This study presents different technologies and topologies of medium-voltage (MV) drives available on the market. The carriers above and below zero reference line are in same phase. If all the carriers are selected with the same phase, the method is known as Phase Disposition (PD) method. In this paper, four multilevel Pulse width-modulation methods; phase disposition (PD), switching-loss minimization (SLM), and selective harmonic elimination (SHE) up to the 17th and 29th harmonics, respectively, are considered. The characteristics of long-cable effects on common mode voltage (CMV) and differential-mode voltage (DMV), inverter losses and efficiency, induction machine voltage, and current harmonics are analyzed. MATLAB/Simulink for control systems are experimentally verified with a 1000-hp 4160-V neutral-point-clamped adjustable speed-drive system that includes a 24-pulse front-end voltage source converter.

Abstract: In This paper proposes the concepts of seven and nine levels multilevel inverter for energy saving in induction motor drives for variable torque load (VTL) application. The main objective here is to analyze the seven level and nine level diode clamped multilevel inverter for control the speed of an induction motor with respect to their variable loads. To  give high  quality   sinusoidal  input voltage with reduced harmonics to IMD( Induction motor Drive) The proposed Scheme for diode  clamped  multilevel inverter  is  multicarrier SPWM(sinusoidal pulse width modulation) control. The V/f technique is used to obtain an open loop speed control. This method can be implemented by changing the supply voltage  and  frequency  applied  to  the  three  phase  induction  motor  at constant  ratio.  The  proposed  method (7-Level MI)  are  an  effective  replacement  for the conventional method which has high switching losses, as a result a poor  drive  performance. The 9-level multilevel inverter having better performance than 7-level multilevel inverter. According to the simulation results point of view   the  effective  control  in  the  motor  speed  and  an  enhanced  drive performance   through   reduction   in   total   harmonic   distortion  (THD) with 9 level is optimum.   The   effectiveness   of   the   system   is   verified   through simulation using MATLAB SIMULINK 7.8.0.347(R2009a) package.

Abstract: The goal of accurately mapping of soil properties is to analyze various primary nutrients (NPK) in the soil. In this paper we discussed spectroscopy and conductivity measurement technique for primary nutrients determination. In the conductivity measurement, we observed that conductivity of the soil depends on the concentration of primary nutrients. The results are verified for Potassium nutrient by conductivity setup. In spectroscopy method, results are tested for potassium nutrient. Experimentally it has been found that maximum absorbance is at 260 nm and as concentration of the Potassium increases the absolute value of absorbance also increases. The results are helpful in analyzing primary nutrients in the soil.

Abstract: An analog inner hair cell and auditory nerve IC has been implemented using non invasive techniques.Differential topology is used to remove the reverberations caused. A fully-differential current-mode arechitecture is used and the ability to correct channel mismatch is evaluated with matched layouts as well as with digital current tuning. Current mode architecture is developed to avoid CMOS mismatch.Brain machine interface based on non invasive technique is implemented.The designed IC is used for ultra low power biomimetic system.Speech synthesis is used for speech recogniation in noisy environment.Neural activity is measured using Brain machine interface(EEG).

Abstract: Stroke is the leading cause of disability. This disability leads to increased inactivity and deconditioning. Rehabilitation strategies that are task oriented and intensive can drive cortical reorganization and increase activity levels in people after stroke. Footwear-based physical activities monitor (System) that can reliably differentiate between most common postures and activities. The main goal of this project is to design a wearable device for use with such rehabilitation strategies. The device is based on a combination of system and a sensor and output is visualized using Lab VIEW. Pressure sensor and triple axis accelerometer are placed in the insole of the shoe. The data collected from the sensor is sent to the system via Bluetooth and is processed with the help of a microcontroller. A feedback is sent to the patient, which is in the form of alarm and message. The usage of Lab VIEW is to view the accelerometer graph and pressure which is indicated in the form of LED.
