The Objective is to study the medical facilities with particular reference to Sonitpur District. The problem associated with government hospitals & remedial measures. Also to compare the public sector and private sector Hospital in Sonitpur District.

Abstract: Since the time of Hippocrates, medical futility has been a concept that has been acknowledged, but which neither the medical community nor ethicists have been able to concretely define.  This is because while the cardinal goals of medical care: “to relieve physical and emotional pain and suffering… enhance the quality and functionality of life… to extend the length of life” (Doty, & Walker, 2000) have remained constant, our preoccupation with the prolongation of life, fortified by the extraordinary advances in medical technology that make it possible, have skewed our perception such that the line between prolongation of life and prolongation of the dying process has been blurred.  As a result, physicians and families faced with end-of-life decisions must navigate their own way.  Ideally, public health officials will initiate a national discussion about medical futility and all of the demons it brings with it so we can achieve a more consistent, ethical health care system.

Abstract: Obesity is a public health problem that has reached epidemic proportions with an increasing worldwide prevalence. Endothelial dysfunction represents an early phase of vascular changes that eventually lead to atherosclerosis with all its unfavorable complications. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the endothelial dysfunction and oxidative stress as potential biomarkers to assess whether these markers are considered non invasive early predication of CVD. Two groups of subjects were included in this study (obese and non obese).  Serum levels of soluble intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (sICAM-1), vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (sVCAM-1), E-selectin (E-selectin), oxidized LDL (oxo-LDL) and 8-iso-prostaglandinF2α (8-iso-PGF2α) were assessed by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. In comparison with control group, a significantly elevation of serum sICAM-1, sVCAM-1, E-selectin, oxo-LDL and 8-iso-PGF2α levels  (p < 0.001) in obese population as comared with none obese. In obese group, Pearson analysis showed a positive correlation between  E-selectin and with albumin (r= 0.313,p= 0.036) but negative correlation between 8-iso-PGF2α  and albumin (r= -0.430, p= 0.003), ICAM-1 concentration were negative correlated with T.BIL (r= -0.307, p= 0.040) and D.BIL (r= -0.324, p= 0.030) but positive correlated with AST (r= 0.323, p= 0.030) and LDH (r= 0.348, p= 0.019). Endothelial dysfunction and oxidative stress marker are significantly elevated in obese population with poor performance status.

Abstract: Maize is the important cereal crop which is the basic need of food and oil for human intake. It is also used as feed for livestock throughout the world but this crop is normally submissive to salt stress. Salinity is the most important abiotic stress that inhibits growth and productivity of crop. The salinity is worldwide problem that limits the growth and productivity of all vegetation’s and it is going to increasing day by day. The salt stresses affect badly to the plant morphology, functioning, and homeostasis and decrease the plant biomass. But the exogenous applications of different plant growth regulators such as IAA enhance the plant growth, development, maintaining plant cell ion constancy and raise the plant biomass. The objective of the investigation was to study the response of Maize (Zea mays L.) in term of morphological, physiological, chemical and biochemical characteristics under salt stress conditions.

Abstract: Research techniques are a form of collecting and Interpreting data depending on the nature of the research. It is a planned Procedure, not a spontaneous one. It is focused and limited to a specific Scope ⁽⁷⁾. This study explains and discusses the procedure and Technique used to check the reliability of grip strength instrument (T.K.K. 5710, Grip-D Takei, Tokyo, Japan [Takei Scientific Instruments Co. Ltd]). Experimental design of single-Group repeated measurements. For the purpose of study, a total of 27 participants took part in the grip strength test. All of them are students of a university. The test was held during class hours. To perform the hand grip strength test a digital Dynamometer (T.K.K. 5101, grip-D Takei, Tokyo, Japan [Takei Scientific Instruments Co., Ltd]) is used. The data of week 1 and 2 is analyzed using SSPS. Descriptive Statistics was used for exploring the data along with normality test. It can be concluded that validity is more important than Reliability because if an instrument does not accurately measure what it is Supposed to, there is no reason to use it even if it measures consistently.
