Abstract: Cupping therapy is a form of alternative medicine. There are two types of Cupping Therapy: dry and wet cupping. It has many Physiological effects on the body and it is used to treat many disorders and problems and has some contraindications that should be taken in consideration. The use of cupping therapy is documented in the history of most great cultures and civilization of the past with earliest available record revealing extensive use by the ancient Egyptians , Chinese and middle eastern cultures. The main objective of this study was to explore the characteristics of cupping therapy and the most common condition that’s used for. The specific objectives were to describe the epidemiologic features of members undergoing cupping therapy, to identify affecting factors, conditions treated by this therapy and to Identify if there is the complications arising from cupping therapy. The study has been conducted in Jazan area, using a cross sectional study design. The study targeted (280) person attending cupping therapy sessions, during the study period. Data has been collected through face to face (direct interview) with the targeted people by the use of structured questionnaire. The data were entered and analyzed using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS ) . Ethical approval has been obtained from Faculty of Medicine Jazan University and informed consent has been obtained from all people who have treated by cupping. Confidentiality of the data has been considered and maintained in the whole process. The research results found the most group using this therapy are aged from 18-30 years at percentage of 31.4 % , male 33.3% and female 29.9% . Back pain was the main cause of seeking treatment by cupping then arthritis. Also we found that the reason for doing this therapy is thinking that cupping can treat some condition that traditional medicine cannot (36.4%) .We found that people treated by cupping were quite satisfied. The places for doing this therapy are homes (52.1%) . We found that the technique of therapy has little or no infection which equal to all most 2.9% . Also people treated by this way encourage treating the cupping. Finally the study recommends that Ministry of health should monitor and evaluate of cupping centers regarding sterilization, so as a void infections and transmission of disease. Abstract: Cervical Cancer is considered the fourth most common cancer in females worldwide, with most cases occurring in the third world countries(3). In Saudi Arabia, Cervical Cancer ranks as the eighth most frequent cancer among women (1).  Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is considered the causative agent of Cervical Cancer, mainly HPV types 16 and 18 (4). Unfortunately, there is no database for the prevalence of HPV among women in Saudi Arabia, which is a setback in the fight against Cervical Cancer.  Objective: The aim of this study is to measure the knowledge of women in Riyadh regarding Cervical Cancer and its risk factors, Pap Smear, and HPV information, and if they have taken the HPV vaccine which has recently been introduced to Saudi Arabia. Method: A cross sectional study was done in December, 2016 in Riyadh. A self-administered questionnaire based survey was distributed through an online link to the general population by social media, and by hand to patients in the waiting area at the Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic in Prince Sultan's Medical Military City hospital in Riyadh. A total of 628 women agreed to voluntarily participate in this study, ages ranging between 15 and 61 years. Result: The results of this study pointed out some important information about the reasons of why the woman visits/do not visit an Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic. Furthermore, 47.6% did not know what a Pap Smear is, 67.2% never had a Pap Smear, 23.6% haven’t heard of Cervical Cancer, more than 65% did not know what the risk factors of Cervical Cancer are, 35.4% did not know if Cervical Cancer can be prevented or not, 83% did not know what HPV is, 79.5% did not know that HPV causes Cervical Cancer, 81.17% did not know that HPV is sexually transmitted, and lastly 98.4% did not take the HPV vaccine. Conclusion: Despite this cancer as being preventable, yet it has little attention paid to it in Saudi Arabia. Abstract: Tumors including the anterior skull base and paranasal sinuses are challenging to treat because of their relative rarity, the wide variety of tumor types represented, and the irregularity in the degree of involved local structures. We aimed by this Systematic review study to evaluate the treatment approaches of Tumors of sinonasal tract and anterior skull base, though we also intended to discuss the diagnostic procedures because management can’t be approached un least the diagnosis is accurate, which is mostly imaging modalities used in the diagnosis of such tumors locations. A literature search for ASB and sinonasal & anterior skull base tumors was performed in January of 2016 through the MEDLINE/PubMed, Embase Databases. It is reported in the literature that substantial deadly sinonasal & ASB tumors can be handled successfully with an en bloc resection through an anterior transfacial-cranial technique. Abstract: Present study was conducted to determine the etiological factors which contribute in the pathogenesis of Fragile X syndrome (FXS), which is mostly genetics factors, and to evaluate the quality of life among those FXS patients. We conducted this review paper by performing a search strategy among medical databases such MIDLINE, science-direct, from the instance time to 2016, including only studies published in English language and with human subjects only. studies that demonstrate the genetics factors as a cause of FXS were included, in addition to those discussing the impact of FXS on quality of life on patients and their families. Fragile X syndrome (FXS) is the most frequent type of acquired intellectual special needs and is likewise linked to other neurologic and psychiatric conditions. Abstract: This study was aimed to focus in discussing the most important aspects of Microscopic Colitis (MC), Therefore reviewing the evidence on the causes, diagnosis and treatment of MC was performed. We conducted search of the literature of published studies discussing Microscopic Colitis (MC) by searching following database; PubMed/Midline, and Embase, using the following MeSH terms: “Microscopic colitis, collagenous colitis, lymphocytic colitis combined with causes, diagnosis, and treatment”. Additional reports were found searching the reference list of identified studies. This search was restricted to English language with human subject’s literature only. MC is a relatively typical reason for chronic diarrhea, especially in older patients. In some populations, the incidence of MC has stabilized after a period of substantial boost, while in others the occurrence continues to rise. Colon biopsies are required for medical diagnosis and needs to be thought about in any patient undergoing colonoscopy to evaluate chronic watery diarrhea. The two subtypes of MC, collagenous and lymphocytic colitis, are similar histologically and clinically and appear to react similarly to numerous medical therapies. Current study was aim to focus on pulmonary hypertension and mostly on Persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN). In addition to evaluate the diagnostic procedures, and treatment intervention, and before all that we intended to discuss the pathophysiology of PPHN. Electronic search was conducted through famous medical databases; PubMed/Midline, and Embase, searching literature on Persistent pulmonary hypertension of the newborn (PPHN), we searched studies that were published in English language only, and up to December,2016 and with only human subjects. Moreover, we searched the references lists of each identified article for more relevant studies. Abstract: Hypertension, if uncontrolled, can lead to hypertensive crisis and very life threatening condition, therefore this review aim to determine the prevalence of hypertensive crisis, emergency management of uncontrolled hypertensive crisis in Emergency department. Detailed searched was performed through MEDLINE/PUBMED, and EMBASE databases search was conducted using the following Mesh terms; “hypertensive crisis”, “hypertensive urgency”, hypertensive emergency”, “uncontrolled hypertension”, and “malignant hypertension” AND “Treatment” and “Emergency medicine” and “Emergency department”. We then retrieved the references of all the articles and searched the for additional relevant articles. Searched of published studies were included all dates up to January,2016. Restriction to English language was applied with human subjects. Abstract: Gastroparesis (GP) is a chronic neuromuscular disorder of the upper intestinal tract, likewise called delayed gastric emptying, which is a motility condition of the stomach that is identified by slowed emptying of food in the absence of mechanical obstruction. The objective of this study was to review the evidence of diagnosis and treatment of Gastroparesis (GP) in general, we intended to demonstrate the different diagnostic procedures used in this manner, and to overview the impact of this disorder in internal care unit of GI. Systematic detailed search was conducted through several databases including; PubMed/MIDLINE, Google scholar, and Embase, searching the literature for relevant studies discussing the Gastroparesis (GP) and especially those articles concerning diagnosis and treatment of GP. Then for more evidence the references of each article was manually searched for more relevant studies to be included in our review, English language restriction was applied in this current search, and with only human subject’s articles. Clinical features and underlying diseases may suggest the existence of gastroparesis. Gastric discommendation or accelerated gastric emptying might result in dyspeptic symptoms such as early satiety, nausea, and bloating, which may suggest gastroparesis, and, thus, formal measurement of gastric emptying is key before beginning therapy whenever this kind of test is offered. Abstract: This study was aimed to evaluate the screening procedures and treatment approaches of depression in primary care setting by family physicians, and to identify the impact of depression management and the antidote of FPs toward the recognition and treatment of this disorder. We conducted an electronic search using; Cochrane Collaboration librarian using the MEDLINE and PubMed databases. The search was to identify relevant studies discussing measurement and diagnosis of depression in Family practice, this search was for articles that were published in English in the mentioned databases up to December, 2016. Furthermore, additional studies were identified from searching the references listed of each included study. Depression is a typical illness especially for patients in the 3rd decade. Boosts the number of males suffering from depression which proved to be true in our research. Depression is more typical amongst jobless people, so according to evidence about 60% of depressed patients in primary care were out of work. In both sexes normally happens mild depression that could be avoided with sufficient psychotherapy access and rehabilitation, however applied on time. Abstract: In-hospital cardiac arrest is a critical and terminal event for some patients and a transient complication for many others. It is a stressful event for healthcare providers, patients, and family members. In 1960s, the effectiveness of closed chest compression was discovered (1, 2) and since then cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) has been utilized as an effective intervention and became a standard for all hospitalized patients in cases of cardiac arrest. Objectives: The objective of our study is to measure the characteristics of in-hospital cardiac arrests at King Khalid University Hospital (KKUH) and to evaluate the outcome of those patients after the code and at 6 months. Patients and methods: Included in this study were all adult patients who sustained a cardiac arrest at KKUH between January 2012 and December 2013. The code forms were reviewed according to the Utstein style. Results: We identified 445 patients who had a total 628 cardiac arrests during the study period at KKUH. Out of the 445 patients 270 (60.7%) were males. The mean age was 57.8±19.7. The most common initial rhythm was asystole/ pulseless electrical activity in 37% of the codes. Return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) occurred in 178 (40%). Survival to hospital discharge occurred in 80 (18%) patients. Six months survival was documented in 55 (12.36%) of the original cohort. Conclusions: Return of spontaneous circulation happens after successful CPR but survival to hospital discharge remains poor after in hospital cardiac arrest. Providing patients and families with this crucial information can enable informed decisions regarding resuscitation. Keywords: Cardiac arrest, Utstein Style, ROSC and CPR.
