Abstract: Introduction: The estimated occurrence of femur fractures in the world is 1 million - 2.9 million people. The ratio of the incidence of femoral fractures worldwide is 14% in low-income countries, 39% in low-middle-income countries, and 38% in upper-middle-income countries. Unfortunately, there were no epidemiological data yet about femoral fractures in adult patients at RSUP Sanglah, so the researchers are interested in researching the epidemiology of femur fracture in adults at RSUP Sanglah in January 2020-December 2021. Methods: This study is a type of descriptive study. The data that has been collected will be continued with simple statistical calculations and a univariate descriptive analysis will be carried out using Statistical Product and Service Solutions (SPSS) 22 software. The collected data will be processed and presented in the form of a table of the distribution of femoral fracture patients by age, gender, fracture type, and fracture location. Results: The incidence of femoral fracture patients in adults at the Sanglah Central General Hospital Denpasar for the period January 2020-December 2021 was obtained as many as 223 cases. The age prevalence of people with femoral fractures in adults at the Sanglah Central General Hospital Denpasar for the period January 2020-December 2021 the most common with an age range of 18-25 years as many as 60 cases (27%). The prevalence of the sexes of people with femoral fractures due to traffic accidents was most prevalent in men as many as 130 cases (58.3%). The prevalence of fracture types in people with femoral fractures was found in closed femoral fracture that is 186 cases (83.4%). The prevalence of fracture sites in femoral fracture sufferers was found in the middle third as many as 83 cases (37.2%). Conclusion: In this study, the characteristics of femoral fractures in adults at the Sanglah Central General Hospital Denpasar for the period January 2020-December 2021 were more common in men, with the most age group of 18-25 years, the most types of fractures were closed fractures, and the most locations were in the middle third.

Abstract: Fractures of humeral shaft in children are relatively rare injuries, accounting for less than 3% of all childhood fractures. Although these injuries are rare, it is important to know the clinical approach and definitive treatment to get a better result in pediatric humeral fracture. This paper provides an overview of diaphyseal fractures of the humerus in children, including the clinical approach and definitive treatment. Fractures of the humerus midshaft can be caused by direct trauma to the arm, a fall, a car accident, or a sports injury. Older children usually have pain, swelling, and bruising. For most pediatric humeral diaphyseal fractures, x-ray images with standard anterior-posterior (AP) and full-length lateral views are sufficient. The definitive treatment of the humeral fracture can be conservative or need a surgical treatment. Most of humeral midshaft fractures in children can be treated conservatively. But, surgical treatment is mainly used for older children, adolescents, and some indications, like showed in this case report. In this case, patient favor ORIF over IMN as the optimal treatment decision for a traumatic humeral shaft fracture. Plating has been shown to have better overall results compared to the interlocking nails in treatment of closed humeral shaft fractures. In this report, we present a case of midshaft humerus fracture in a 15-Year-Old Adolescent.

Abstract: On March 2, 2020, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia confirmed its first case of the emerging coronavirus strain that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Shortly thereafter, the number of confirmed cases nationwide began to rise. Since the looming outbreak, all healthcare professionals, including pharmacists, began to work at maximum capacity and effort. The Saudi Society of Clinical Pharmacy (SSCP) recognizes the significant impact pharmacists can have during outbreaks. Based on the scientific evidence available during this outbreak, the SSCP set up an expert working group to conceptualize and draft proposed recommendations that highlight the roles and responsibilities of pharmacists during epidemics and pandemics. The SSCP working group made 28 recommendations. In addition to national and institutional guidelines, these recommendations could serve as guidance for affected entities.

Abstract: Aim: the aim of this study was to supply an summary of the evolution of emergency medical services (EMS) in Saudi Arabia to explain its history, organizational service providers, governance, EMS statistics and also the academic development of the sphere with the inequality of educational approaches. The EMS in Saudi Arabia has seen variety of positive changes over the past decade, a number of that embody the event of many university and faculty programs dedicated to teaching EMS, the analysis of the profession from a post-employment care model into a pre-employment bachelor’s degree model, the generous governmental scholarship grants overseas and also the official enfranchisement of EMS as a profession. it's been close to 9 years since the primary EMS bachelor’s degree programs were developed in Saudi Arabia, a number of that were directly adopted from universities in developed countries admire Australia. Abstract: Introduction: Today, all parts of the world are facing a pandemic caused by SARS-CoV-2 or commonly known as the “coronavirus disease of 2019” (COVID-19). To be able to avoid morbidity and mortality due to COVID-19 it is important for all people to have a good level of knowledge and stigma against COVID-19. Methods: This research is a descriptive study using a cross-sectional design which aims to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and the stigma of medical students at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, towards COVID-19. Data collection in this study was only carried out at one particular time. The data obtained was then analyzed using SPSS. Results: The total number of respondents who filled out questionnaires to assess the level of knowledge of COVID-19 and assess the stigma of COVID-19 was 96 respondents. Description of the level of knowledge of a total of 96 respondents, almost two-thirds (64.6%) of respondents have a high level of knowledge about COVID-19. As for stigma, more than three quarters (78.1%) of respondents have low stigma against COVID-19. In addition, the results of this study show that there is a trend of increasing the level of knowledge among respondents with low stigma against COVID. Conclusion: The conclusions in this study are that the majority (64.6%) of Unud medical students' knowledge level about COVID-19 is categorized as having high knowledge, the stigma of Unud medical students towards COVID-19 is obtained by the majority (78.1%) in the low category, and there is a relationship significant difference between the level of knowledge and student stigma against COVID-19.

Abstract: Background: Oral medication for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus plays an important role in diabetes care and is associated with high levels of self-care and self-management behavior. Complications and increased mortality. Barriers to adherence can include complex treatment regimens, often associated with multiple long-term therapies, side effects from medications, and inadequate, incomprehensible, or confusing information or instructions from the healthcare provider. Multidisciplinary approaches can support successful adherence and enable more effective management of diabetes care.

The focus of diabetes care can be the involvement of a pharmacist. The aim was to analyze the effectiveness of pharmaceutical interventions to improve adherence to therapy in type 2 diabetes mellitus. Methods: A systematic review of randomized controlled trials. Study quality was assessed using the Cochrane Risk of Bias Tool. Results: Six publications were included out of 491 results.

Two studies investigating primarily educational interventions showed a significant improvement in therapy adherence. In addition, the quality of the included studies was poor. Conclusion: Although pharmaceutical interventions could potentially improve medication adherence in type 2 diabetes mellitus, high-quality studies are needed to assess their effectiveness,

Abstract: Introduction: Diabetes poses long-term risks to individuals and their families. In both inpatient and outpatient settings, insulin is a high-alert drug. When given incorrectly, insulin can have serious negative effects.

Objectives: The goal of this study was to assess the selfcare practice on insulin usage and administration techniques among diabetic patients.

Methods: Diabetic individuals from the village of Kondancherry who matched the inclusion criteria and were recruited using an appropriate Convenient sampling method. Data were gathered utilising self-structured checklist and observation (demonstration) method.

Result: Consequently, 57 (57%) of the 100 diabetics studied did not practice appropriate insulin self-care. Regarding the use of insulin, 59 (59%) of users had not taken note of the substance's physical characteristics, and 75 (75%) had not cleansed the injection site.  82 (82%) had not frequently changed the skin site for insulin injection. 75 (75%) had not disposed of the used needles or syringe in a safety box. 68% had not checked the insulin expiry date before using insulin. Only two demographic factors, education and residence had statistically significant relationships with self-care practice on administration (p<0.001 level, respectively).

Conclusion: It is crucial to administer insulin correctly since using the wrong approach might result in hyperglycaemic crisis or severe hypoglycaemia, both of which require trips to the emergency department (ED). Despite these advancements, it is still necessary to evaluate how patients use them in order to pinpoint areas where education needs to be strengthened.

Abstract: Music therapy has been something that has been explored in small measures throughout different therapy procedures especially for patients with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI). TBI often leads to issues with motor function, memory, and information processing, therefore it is often part of standard rehabilitation to try and encourage retention through different stimuli including music. There has been some research in how listening to familiar music and or learning to play a new instrument has a positive impact on rehabilitation outcomes. Treatment plans can range depending on the goals of the patient, but music related therapies are often easy to implement and attractive because it does not involve any intrusive procedures. There is already extensive study on how music can have an effect on mood, and since brain injury often leads to issues in emotion regulation and depression it is worth further venturing how it could be used in cognitive remediation. Music can also be incorporated in multisensory therapies in order to further stimulation. Although music is undoubtedly a counterpart to other more concrete treatments like pharmaceuticals or surgery there is potential in its use in cognitive behavioral therapies to further help patients improve engagement and quality of life.

Abstract: Eating disorders (ED), including anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa (BN), along with their variants are serious medical illness that often have a variety of medical complication, some of them being irreversible and life-threatening and have significant psychiatric comorbidity. Until recently these disorders have been often regarded as “Western culture-bound syndromes” arising in societies with the excessive emphasis on weight, shape and appearance. They have far common among females than males, mirroring cross-cultural differences in the importance of thinness for women. The thin-ideal of famine beauty is widely promoted by the media image have flooded western societies since the second half of the twenty centuries, during a period when icons of Americans beauty have become thinner and women’s magazines have published significantly more articles on methods for weight loss. Research suggests that the thin-ideal body is liked to body image disturbance in women and plays a central part in eating disorders. Quantitative research was conducted among 50 children. A non-purposive sampling technique was used to select the samples. Self-structured questionnaires were used to collect demographic data. The study results show that the diagnosis made and medical and psychiatric co-morbidity seen in the sample. Nine children received a diagnosis of anorexia nervosa. One child received the diagnosis of atypical anorexia nervosa. Eating disorder unspecified diagnosed in 2 children having severe depression with psychotic symptom’s as well as body image distortion and high avoidance of calorie foods. No patients in the sample received the diagnosis of bulimia nervosa and other psychological disturbances, p<0.001. Thereby, this indicates that the prevalence of eating disorders among children in selected village.

Abstract: Pain is a complex, multidimensional phenomenon. Everyone has experienced some types or degrees of pain. Pain prompts people to seek health care more often than any other problem. Pain is a leading cause of disability. As the average life span increases more people have chronic diseases in which pain is a chronic symptom. Joint pain is a chronic, progressive process in which new tissue is produced in response to joint insults and cartilage deterioration. The most common pain during the elderly people with joint knee pain and its occurs more commonly   in women than in men. It accounts for substantial disability as a result of its effect on the large weight bearing joints and the spine.

METHOD

A Pre-Experimental One group pre test post test Design was used to assess the effectiveness of hot water compress with Epsom salt among Elderly Women with knee joint pain residing at selected area. After obtaining permission various department and people, the investigator selected 100 samples by using purposive sampling technique. The samples who met the inclusion criteria were selected. The investigator introduced and explained the purposes of the study to the samples and obtained the written informed consent. The tool consists of two sections like demographic variables and Pain Rating scale was measured the level of knee joint pain. The collected data were coded and entered in Excel for further data analysis. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used for data analysis.

RESULTS

• The pre-test level of knee joint pain data revealed that 47(47%) were had Severe Pain, 51(51%) were had Moderate Pain, 2 (2%) were had Mild Pain. The Post -test level of knee joint pain data revealed that 81(81%) were had No pain, 19(19%) were had Mild pain and none of the Moderate and Severe pain.
• The Result shows that the Effectiveness of Hot Water Application with Epson Salt for a Knee Joint Pain between Pre and Post Test among Elderly Women. The finding reveals that Pre-Test mean and standard deviation score of Knee Joint Pain was9.08±2.61.Whereas in the Post Test the mean and standard deviation score of Knee Joint Pain was 18.49±2.53. The calculated paired t value is t = 0.000*. It was found to be statistically significant at p=< 0.005 level. It indicates that the Hot Water Application with Epson Salt was significantly effective to improve the level of Knee Joint Pain among Elderly Women.
• The data shows that the demographic variables of Age and Types of diet shown statistically significant association with Post-Test Level of Knee Joint Pain p=< 0.005 level. The other demographic variables had not shown any statistical association with the Post-Test Level of Knee Joint Pain among elderly women’s.

CONCLUSION

The present study concludes that Epsom Salt with Hot Water Compression Was Reducing the Knee Joint Pain for Elderly Women’s. Epsom salt it’s easily available and Less Expensive.

The present study aims to assess the effectiveness of dry papaya seeds powder on worm infestation among children

Materials and methods: Quantitative Research with Pre-Experimental Research Design using a one-group pre-test post-test design among children. Data collection was done in Kondancherry Village, for a period of 1 week with sample size of 60 by non-probability convenient sampling. Demographic variables and pretest was conducted with the symptoms of worm infestation by observational checklist. Stool examination was done to check ova/ cyst positive cases. The oval cyst positive cases was papaya seeds powder was given for seven days in the empty stomach every morning. Post-test observational rating scale and stool examination was done to evaluate the effectiveness of papaya seeds powder on worm infestation after a week. The data were collected and analyzed by using descriptive and inferential statistics

Results: The pretest mean score of worm infestation was 12.40±3.55 and the post test mean score was 5.83±3.16. The mean difference score was 6.57. before and after administration of papaya seeds powder approach are highly statistically significant at P≤0.05.

Conclusion: The present study assessed the effectiveness of dry papaya seeds powder on worm infestation among children. Based on statistical findings, it is evident that air dried papaya seeds given as elixir with honey significantly reduced intestinal parasites and reduced the magnitude of worm infestation among children

Abstract: Reports indicate that the number of cancer patients in the United States is rising, with the amount of patients doubling by 2050. As patients in hospital beds increase, the cost to treat patients increases. Treating the most prevalent cancer is associated with the highest costs of treatment. This disproportionality affects patients of low-socioeconomic backgrounds. Paying for cancer treatments  result in dire situations for thousands of individuals throughout the nation. People of low socioeconomic backgrounds also seem to be highly correlated with certain demographics. This limits the availability of certain treatments to specific demographics, representing the inequality present in healthcare. The impact of such inequality is extremely detrimental to people of these demographics, resulting in immense financial strain that changes entire lives. This paper goes into depth regarding the effects that rise from the high costs of cancer treatment and explores possible solutions that may aid those suffering from the financial strain of treating such illnesses.

Abstract: The recent outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is the worst global crisis. Still there is no specific treatment for this pandemic disease. Very recently vaccination is started so, it would be control and prevent only by knowledge and practice on prevention of COVID-19 in the community. Thus, this study aimed to assess knowledge, and practice on prevention of COVID-19 among mothers in Sinna Urani, Batticaloa in Sri Lanka. A Community Based Descriptive Cross Sectional Quantitative study was conducted from October 2020 to September 2021 among 305 mothers from Sinna Urani PHM area in Batticaloa. Participants were selected using simple random sampling method and a pre-tested, interviewer- administered questionnaire was used to collect data. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences 25 was used to enter and analyze the data. Among the 305 mothers recruited for this study, overall knowledge on prevention of COVID-19 was adequate in the majority (92.5%). Most of the mothers (87.2%) had adequate overall practice on prevention of COVID–19. There is strong evidence of significant positive association between educational level and overall knowledge on prevention of COVID–19 (Chi-square=14.922, df=6, p<0.05) and overall practice on prevention of COVID–19 (Chi-square=12.115, df=3, p<0.05) in this study. Knowledge and practice on prevention of COVID–19 among mothers in this study was adequate in many aspects.

It was stated from the latest Civil Registry and vital statistics for 2019 (Philippines Statistical Office) that births among adolescent girls aged 10-19 years old remained high in the country. 

This study aims to discuss the journey of a young woman's struggle, hope, and success as a teenage pregnant woman to womanhood through the photovoice method and sought to know how pregnant teenagers relate the picture to their situation? It specifically aims to know what challenges more likely a pregnant teenager faces, the struggle, hope, or success to womanhood? How do these challenges help with their pregnancy? 

The study utilized the Roy Adaptation Model by Sister Callista Roy which focused on the interconnected, holistic individual and her interaction with the environment. The study focused on a young woman’s journey towards struggle, hope, and success in womanhood among pregnant teenagers. The respondents of the study were four (4) pregnant teenagers. Their ages ranged from 13 to 19 years old and they were at least 20 to 35 weeks pregnant. They came all from Sta. Rosa, Laguna. The study utilized qualitative research with the method of photovoice. Photovoice is defined by its creators Wang and Burris 1997 as a "process by which people can identify, represent, enhance their community through a specific photographic technique". Wang and Burris 1997, p.369) 

The findings of this paper suggest that we should have a support system in both private and public sectors for all teenage pregnant women. This study, therefore, concludes Photovoice methods play a significant role in teenage pregnant participants sharing their experiences and were able to show the statement of the problem by the negative and positive effects of being a teenager the respondents. It serves as an aid to address the psychological impact of teenage pregnancy as they are able to share experiences and get motivated by the current status of respondents.
