Abstract: Methodology and theory of research are considered the guiding principles for any scientific study. Choosing an appropriate research method will help us objectively, scientifically, theoretically, and practically address the research problem. This article presents research perspectives on research methodology, theory, and methods of health behavior research from studies in the United States and Europe. The application of theories at the individual or interpersonal level in human health behavior research is elucidated in the following analyses. The suitability of quantitative or qualitative research methods in the context of significant social changes such as the pandemic in recent years is discussed in the opening section for studying the health behavior of the elderly in the context of Covid-19 in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Abstract: Tuna fish has been consumed widely all around the world. Mercury poisoning threat is so high that some countries measure the mercury residues of the environment and foods continuously or intermittently. The aim of the present study was to search and review the findings from the scientific published literature studies focusing on concentration of mercury residues in commercial canned tuna. The results of the data search, remaining 12 articles  were suitable in this review. Concentration of mercury residues in canned tuna were determined in this study using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), Inductively Coupled Plasma Emission Spectrometer, or Direct Mercury Analyzer (DMA-80). A large propotion of commercial canned tuna samples from different countries were analysed and found to have mercury residues that were within the acceptable range. Measuring the concentration of  mercury residues is essential based on public health aspect. According to EU announcement, the safe level of mercury in fish is 1 mg/kg. The US Environmental Protection Agency has set 0.5 mg/kg  for mercury. Based on Provisional Tolerance Weekly Intake set by JECFA (Joint FAO/WHO), PTWI is 0.5 mg/ kg for mercury.

Abstract: Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) is the most common sexually transmitted virus found worldwide. Every individual who is sexually active has the possibility of getting HPV infection at least once in his life. This study aims to determine the characteristics of patients with condyloma acuminata at Bali Mandara Hospital from 2019 to 2022. This study used a descriptive research design with secondary data collection in the form of patient medical records. Sampling was done with total sampling technique. This study analyzed 38 patients with condyloma acuminata at Bali Mandara General Hospital from January 2019 to December 2022. The research variables used were age, gender, and education level. Data were processed using SPSS version 17 for Windows. In this study, the prevalence of condyloma acuminata patients based on the division of age 12-25 years was 14 people (37%), age 26-45 years was 21 people (55%), and age 46-60 years was 2 people (8%). Based on gender, 23 people (61%) were found for men, and 15 people (39%) for women. Based on education level, the number of patients with low education level was 1 (3%), secondary education was 22 people (58%), and higher education was 15 people (39%). The highest prevalence of condyloma acuminata patients by age is 26 - 45 years old, male gender, and secondary education.

Abstract: This paper presents a comprehensive clinical analysis of four traditional Chinese medicinal herbs: Radix Astragalus Membranaceus (Astragalus), Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae (Danshen), Radix Panax Notoginseng (Sanqi), and Lignum Dalbergia Odorifera (Jiangxiang). Each herb possesses unique phytochemical compositions and therapeutic properties that have been extensively studied for their health benefits.

Radix Astragalus Membranaceus is renowned for its immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties. Clinical trials have demonstrated its efficacy in boosting immune function, enhancing cardiovascular health, and mitigating the side effects of chemotherapy and radiation therapy. Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae exhibits potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and cardiovascular protective effects. Its active compounds, salvianolic acids and tanshinones, have shown promising results in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, cerebrovascular disorders, and various inflammatory conditions.

Radix Panax Notoginseng is recognized for its hemostatic, antiplatelet, and cardioprotective properties. Studies have revealed its potential in improving blood circulation, reducing blood clotting, and alleviating symptoms associated with coronary artery disease and stroke. Lignum Dalbergia Odorifera possesses anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and neuroprotective activities. Its bioactive components, including flavonoids and phenolic compounds, have demonstrated therapeutic effects in pain management, neurological disorders, and inflammatory conditions.

Through rigorous clinical investigations, these herbs have emerged as promising candidates for the prevention and treatment of various health ailments. However, further research is warranted to elucidate their mechanisms of action, optimize therapeutic dosages, and evaluate potential herb-drug interactions. Overall, the findings presented in this analysis underscore the significant therapeutic potential of Radix Astragalus Membranaceus, Radix Salviae Miltiorrhizae, Radix Panax Notoginseng, and Lignum Dalbergia Odorifera in modern medicine.

Abstract: Background: Neonatal nurses form the cornerstone of neonatal care units, especially neonates’ receiving parenteral nutrition. However, the application of this therapy requires a high degree of nurses’ practice and knowledge. Several studies showed that nurses’ performance regarding parenteral nutrition contributes significantly to the efficacy of this treatment. Aim of the study was to assess the impact of educational program on the performance of nurses in the area of parenteral nutrition. Settings: The research was conducted at Benha University hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Units. Design: To accomplish this study's objective, a quasi-experimental design was implemented.  Methods: A purposive sample composed of all neonatal nurses. Tools: Two instruments were utilized to collect the data: a structured questionnaire sheet and an observational checklist.  Results: The age range of the nurses under study was 20–30 years on average, with the majority being female and less than one third attended training courses. After completing the educational program, the nurses' understanding of parenteral nutrition improved in a highly statistically significant way; the majority of them were able to provide accurate responses.  A statistically significant correlation was seen between the nurses' overall understanding and implementation of parenteral nutrition procedures and specific variables, including age, academic credentials, years of experience in NICU, and attendance at training courses. A statistically significant positive association was seen between the overall knowledge of the nurses under study and their total practices, both before and after the intervention. Conclusion: The majority of post-intervention nurses possessed adequate expertise. Furthermore, a substantial and statistically significant disparity in overall parenteral nutrition practice was seen between the period before and after the intervention.  A significant proportion of the nurses possessed proficient post-intervention skills.  Recommendation: Continue applying similar educational programs to ensure that the nurses have update knowledge and skills in neonatal parenteral nutrition.

Abstract: Background: The Femur bone is a vascular structure with unique features in its blood supply via numerous foramina located over its different segments, being named as nutrient foramina. Among vascular foramina, nutrient foramen is an important one which gives way to the nutrient artery.

Methods: This study was conducted using descriptive cross sectional based of the study designs & it will include 50 femur bones of different cadaveric specimen’s witch will be obtained from the osteology section of our Department of Anatomy. All bones belonged to Sudanese cadavers, the age and gender of which are not determined. All the bones will macroscopically observe for the number, location and direction of the nutrient foramina. A magnifying lens were used to observe the foramina. The nutrient foramina were identified by the well-marked, often slightly raised, edge at the commencement of the canal.

Results: The nutrient foramina of 50 dry adult human Femora, 38 Femora had single nutrient foramen, 9 had two nutrient foramina and 3had absent nutrient foramina. Location of 28 of single nutrient foramina were located at the junction of upper and middle 1/3rd of the femur, 4 of single nutrient foramina were located at the junction of middle and lower 1/3rd of the femur, 6 of single nutrient foramina were located in middle half of the length of the femur, 5 of double  nutrient foramina were located in upper and middle position and 4 of double nutrient foramina located at upper and lower position .according to surface relationship ,37 of single nutrient foramen located at posterior surface and 1 at medial surface .7 of double nutrient foramina located at posterior surface and 3at medial surface   all nutrient foramina were seen to be directed upwards.

Abstract: Uterine myomas (fibroids) are benign tumors of the uterus. Myomectomy, the surgical removal of the myomas, is an important treatment option, especially for women who desire to preserve their uteri. The major problem with myomectomy is excessive bleeding from the increased uterine blood supply, which can be life-threatening and prolong post-operative stay. Knowledge of the effectiveness of the interventions used to reduce blood loss during myomectomy is essential to enable evidence-based clinical decisions.

Abstract: Background: The Saudi Ministry of Health (MOH) recently established a COVID-19 mitigation strategy. The MOH strategy includes the use of digital health technology platforms (DHTPs).

Methodology: Data visualisation techniques have recently been used to provide critical information to citizens via electronic platforms. Users can interact with data, interpret it, and make informed decisions by using data visualisation tools.

Results: In public health and clinical practice, digital dashboards offer numerous benefits and optimisation opportunities. Total cases, total recovery, and activity have increased in Saudi Arabia since the beginning of the COVID-19 period.

Conclusion: There was a widespread infodemic in response to COVID-19, disseminating a massive amount of misinformation and statistics. Some countries, however, such as Saudi Arabia, have implemented web-based communication solutions. On the COVID-19 dashboard, users discovered up-to-date, accurate, and trustworthy information about coronavirus cases.

Abstract: Background: Cerebral sinus venous thrombosis (CSVT) is a rare case of stroke. The prevalence of CSVT in women is three times higher than in men, with the most frequent complaint being headache with a migraine-like pattern accompanied by accompanying complaints resembling stroke. Management for CSVT in the acute phase is anti-coagulants, either Unfractionated Heparin (UFH) with adjusted doses or Low Molecular Weight Heparin (LMWH), with mortality depending on the location of thrombosis and neurological status.

Case: In the case of a 25 years old man with the main complaint of headache that felt throbbing throughout the area of ​​the head since 1 day ago which got worse and worsened with activity or coughing. Patients also complain of double vision which improves when one eye is closed. Neurological examination revealed left ocular papilledema, bidirectional horizontal nystagmus, binocular diplopia. Computed Tomography Venography (CTV) revealed an empty delta sign, thrombosis in the sigmoid sinus Dextra, distal internal jugular vein Dextra, transverse sinus Dextra, superior sagittal sinus. The patient received UFH for 5 days and the patient's condition improved. Next, the patient was planned for DSA.

Abstract: Background: The EMS in Saudi Arabia has seen a number of positive changes, including the establishment of several university and college programmes dedicated to teaching EMS.

Methodology: The EMS Department has a tiered pre-hospital emergency medical services (EMS) response. The first week of training includes airway management training. Early exposure to BLS and ALS airway techniques allows for the greatest amount of procedural experience

Results: Emergency airway management is a critical component of critically ill patient resuscitation. The factors that contribute to this variation in success can be classified into three categories: system factors, patient factors, and paramedic experience.

Conclusions: The implementation of a widespread EMS system in Saudi Arabia will not only improve patient safety and clinical outcomes, but will also have a positive impact on the health of our communities, resource utilisation, and the economy.

Abstract: Background: Automated medication dispensing systems were introduced in hospital pharmacies in the final decades of the twentieth century to reduce medication dispensing errors and save time and personnel.

Methods: We described the process of introducing automation to a large outpatient pharmacy department, Rowa Vmax®️ 160  in King Fahad Medical City hospital, Riyadh SA.

Results: This study confirms a 91% reduction in error rate before and after implementation of the Rowa Vmax® 160 system. AS per management expectation, 88% of the patients are served in 20 mins vs the expectation of 98%

Conclusions: Rowa Vmax 160 introduces a novel dataset for the accurate, efficient, flexible, and scalable standardisation of pharmacy data in King Fahad Medical City hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Abstract: Bacterial culture is a fundamental technique in clinical microbiology that involves the growth and isolation of bacteria from patient samples. This technique has evolved significantly over the years, with improvements in both the methods of isolation and identification of bacteria. In this essay, we will discuss the current and past strategies for bacterial culture in clinical microbiology. In the past, the primary method for bacterial culture involved plating patient samples onto solid growth media, such as blood agar or MacConkey agar, and incubating the plates at specific temperatures. This technique allowed for the identification and isolation of bacteria based on their colony morphology and biochemical properties. However, this method had its limitations, as it was time-consuming and required a significant amount of expertise to interpret the results accurately.

Abstract: Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne infection that affects millions of people worldwide each year. The disease is endemic in many tropical and subtropical regions, placing individuals at risk of severe illness, including dengue hemorrhagic fever and dengue shock syndrome. Effective laboratory testing plays a vital role in diagnosing and managing dengue fever, especially at the doctoral level, where advanced techniques are employed to ensure and timely diagnosis. In conclusion, laboratory testing plays a pivotal role in the diagnosis and management of dengue fever. The availability of reliable and efficient laboratory tests, such as RT-PCR and serology, allows healthcare providers to accurately identify the dengue virus, differentiate it from other similar diseases, and guide appropriate patient care. Alongside clinical evaluation and patient history, laboratory testing provides valuable information for epidemiological surveillance and public health interventions to control the spread of this significant global health threat.

Abstract: Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a hereditary blood disorder characterized by the presence of abnormal hemoglobin, resulting in the deformation of red blood cells. As the management of SCD has evolved over the years, there has been an increasing emphasis on patient-reported outcomes (PROs) to capture the holistic impact of the disease and its treatments. This comprehensive review aims to summarize the current understanding of PROs in SCD and treatment interventions. By examining a wide range of studies and literature, we explore the various PRO measures utilized in assessing SCD-related symptoms, functional status, and overall well-being. PROs in SCD typically encompass pain intensity, frequency, and interference, as well as health-related quality of life domains such as physical functioning, emotional well-being, and social interactions. Patient-reported outcomes can be obtained through validated questionnaires, interviews, or electronic platforms, providing valuable insights into the individual experiences of patients with SCD. By incorporating patient perspectives and preferences, researchers and healthcare professionals gain a deeper understanding of treatment effectiveness, adverse events, and patient satisfaction. PROs also serve as valuable tools for shared decision-making, enabling patients to actively participate in their own care.  Issues such as cultural variations, language barriers, and appropriate age-specific measures need to be addressed to ensure the accurate capture of patients' experiences. Additionally, longitudinal studies are needed to assess the long-term impact of SCD and its treatments on PROs. In conclusion, patient-reported outcomes provide a comprehensive understanding of the impact of sickle cell disease and its treatments on individuals' lives. By incorporating PRO measures into clinical practice and research, healthcare professionals can tailor treatment plans, enhance patient satisfaction, and ultimately improve the overall well-being of individuals living with SCD.
