Abstract: The increasing environmental concerns associated with conventional plastics have fueled a global demand for sustainable alternatives, particularly in the packaging industry. This study explores the design and development of biodegradable polymers as viable solutions for green packaging applications. By leveraging innovative polymer synthesis techniques, the research aims to create materials that meet industry requirements for mechanical strength, flexibility, and durability while maintaining eco-friendly properties. A thorough review of the current state of biodegradable polymers and their environmental impact forms the foundation of this research, highlighting both the potential and challenges in transitioning to sustainable packaging solutions. The methodology employs advanced fabrication and testing techniques to develop biodegradable polymers, focusing on materials such as polylactic acid (PLA) and polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA). Comprehensive performance evaluations, including mechanical property analysis and biodegradability testing, were conducted to compare these polymers with traditional plastics. Results reveal that the developed materials exhibit competitive performance while significantly reducing environmental footprints. However, challenges such as production costs and scalability remain barriers to widespread adoption. The findings underscore the transformative potential of biodegradable polymers in mitigating the environmental impact of packaging waste. This study recommends strategies for scaling up production, aligning with global sustainability goals, and implementing supportive policies to accelerate the adoption of green packaging solutions. Future research directions are proposed to further enhance polymer performance and explore alternative biodegradable materials. By addressing critical gaps in the field, this research contributes to the advancement of sustainable packaging technologies, offering practical and impactful solutions for a greener future.

Abstract: Urbanization has transformed societies, driving economic growth and innovation while simultaneously posing significant challenges to mental health. As cities expand and populations grow, individuals increasingly face stressors such as overcrowding, noise pollution, and limited access to natural environments, all of which exacerbate mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and social isolation. Public spaces—ranging from urban parks and gardens to community hubs—offer a unique opportunity to mitigate these challenges and promote well-being. This review explores the intricate relationship between urbanization and mental health, emphasizing the pivotal role of thoughtfully designed public spaces in fostering mental resilience and social connectivity. The paper highlights the protective potential of green spaces and nature exposure, the importance of social spaces for community engagement, and the critical need for inclusive and accessible environments. Through a comparative analysis of case studies from developed and developing nations, the study examines successful strategies for integrating mental health considerations into urban planning. Additionally, it discusses emerging innovations, such as smart city technologies, that enhance the functionality and therapeutic value of public spaces. By synthesizing insights from urban planning, psychology, and public health, this review underscores the necessity of rethinking public spaces as catalysts for mental well-being. It concludes with actionable recommendations for policymakers, urban planners, and mental health practitioners, advocating for a holistic and equitable approach to urban design. In an era of rapid urbanization, prioritizing mental health through innovative public space development is essential to building resilient and sustainable communities.

Abstract: Clinical exposure are designed to prepare young medical professionals to care for patients holistically This research is aimed at determining the attitudinal behaviour of professionals-in-training during clinical exposure. This research was done among the nursing students of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki Nigeria, to determine the attitude towards the mentally ill patients, during their clinical exposure in federal neuropsychiatric hospital Enugu. A sample size of 54 respondents were used. The instrument for data collection was questionnaire. Test retest statistics was used to establish internal consistency which gave a reliability of 0.897. Data was analyzed manually using calculator and presented in frequency, table, mean and standard deviation. The result of this research revealed that 20(37%) of the respondents agreed that they feel free and happy relating with the patients, 28 (51.9%) agreed that it wasn’t difficult for them to initiate a conversation with the patients, 27(50%) agreed that senior nurses helped them to relate well with the patients, while 26(48%) agreed that the teachings from the lecturers and senior nurses helped them to relate well with the patients. Most of the respondents, 50 (92%) of them agreed that this exposure modified their behavior positively. The Researcher therefore recommends this that this program should be a mandatory program for school of nurses both colleges and universities.

Abstract: Background: High alcohol intake is a known cause of brain damage. Tannic acid (TA) poses as a potential treatment measure. Aim: To investigate the histomorphological changes in the microstructures of the prefrontal cortex of adult Wistar rats during treatment with tannic acid following ethanol-induced neurotoxicity. Methodology: Thirty six (36) adult male Wistar rats (160g-240g) were assigned into six (6) groups (A to F) of 6 rats each. Group “A” (untreated negative control) received daily doses of distilled water at 6ml/kg/bwt while Group “B” (alcohol control group) received daily doses of 6g/kg/bwt of 40% ethanol only. Group “C, D and E” received daily doses of 6g/kg/bwt of 40% ethanol co-administrated with 200mg/kg/bwt, 100mg/kg/bwt and 50mg/kg/bwt of TA respectively. Group “F” (positive control group) received daily doses of 6g/kg/bwt of 40% ethanol co-administrated with 335mg/kg/bwt of Vitamin E. All treatments were oral and lasted 14 days. The animals were sacrificed under intraperitoneal ketamin/thiopental sodium as anaesthesia after 24 hours of fasting. Brain tissues were quickly but carefully removed and fixed in 10% formal saline. The prefrontal cortex was grossed and processed according to standard protocols, sectioned at 5μm thick for standard histological studies. Result: Histomorphological analysis demonstrates that high and medium doses of TA preserve neuronal integrity and mitigate the damaging effects of ethanol exposure. Treatment with vitamin E suggests that while antioxidant properties may aid in neuronal preservation, they do not fully address the inflammatory responses triggered by ethanol. Conclusion: Tannic acid exhibits comparatively better neuroprotective effects against ethanol-induced prefrontal cortex toxicity.

Abstract: The Covid-19 infection which was caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 continue to exit in 2024. Even with widely researches and vaccines developed, Covid-19 infection is far from being fully controlled. It is important to promote vaccination first, then early detection and treatment next. The medical providers, patients, community and public health systems must work together to prevent future Covid-19 infection. This article discusses the complexities of preventing Covid-19 infection and highlights the importance of continuous efforts.

Abstract: Patient put through is an aspect that has to be well managed for hospitals to be able to deliver quality customer care, cost efficiency and improved patient satisfaction. This research outlines factors that disrupt patient flow; internal factors which comprise of limited number of beds, poor triage system among others; external factors comprise of demographic factors; changes of season; regulatory factors among others. The approaches used to address these challenges include the use of innovative models for triaging the patients, real time management of wards, and models of patient care. The focus is made on changes enabled by technology with indicating electronic records for patients, analytics, and artificial intelligence in regard to better hospital processes and the patients themselves. Real-life examples from urban and rural hospitals prove useful, featuring site-specific approaches, which stand between technical and cheaper solutions such as telemedicine, flexible staffing. Some of the emerging strategies include: While the various findings demonstrate that the short-term strategies, including improved discharge planning as well as fast-track systems, may produce more apparent advantages, it is lean management, as well as infrastructure improvements, that contribute to sustained, long-term gains. The study specifically demonstrates that discharge planning continues to be a significant issue that requires policy support aimed at reducing barriers to discharge organization and promoting the use of technology in care delivery. Subsequent studies must therefore seek to apply these innovations at large as well as increase efforts of supporting healthcare for rural and other organizations with limited resources. When formulated and integrated correctly, lean solutions help address bottlenecks and employ technology for improving patient flow, decreasing time spent on waiting lists, and increasing organizational stability. Thus, this research calls patient flow optimization as one of the foundational pillars of fair and sustainable healthcare systems and provides guidance to practice improvement administrators and heath care policymakers to design efficient patient flow systems that are also patient-centred.

Abstract: This study explores the role of suffering within Viktor Frankl's logotherapy framework and examines its application to modern mental health care and daily life. Logotherapy, which emphasizes finding meaning through suffering, contrasts with other therapeutic approaches that focus primarily on symptom relief or cognitive restructuring. By highlighting the central tenet that individuals can choose their attitude toward suffering and find purpose in adversity, this study delves into how logotherapy aids patients in clinical settings, particularly those experiencing existential crises, chronic illness, or trauma. It also addresses criticisms of the approach, including its focus on individual responsibility and the limited empirical support for its efficacy in treating severe mental health disorders. Furthermore, the research integrates a spiritual dimension, considering how logotherapy's principles align with broader philosophical and religious concepts of suffering and redemption. Ultimately, this study contributes to understanding how meaning-making can serve as a valuable psychological tool, offering insights for both clinical practice and personal coping strategies. Abstract: A synergistic blend of four traditional Chinese medicinal herbs—Astragalus membranaceus, Salvia miltiorrhiza, Panax notoginseng, and Dalbergia odorifera—has demonstrated significant potential in modern cardiology, building on centuries of use in traditional medicine. Astragalus membranaceus is widely valued for its potent anti-inflammatory and adaptogenic effects, helping the body manage stress and inflammation. Salvia miltiorrhiza, known for its "blood-activating" properties, supports cardiovascular health while also providing antiviral, antimicrobial, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory benefits. Panax notoginseng complements these actions with its strong anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer, and anticoagulant properties, while Dalbergia odorifera has been traditionally used to treat cardio-cerebrovascular conditions, enhancing overall heart and blood vessel function.

In this review, we examine the collective therapeutic potential of these herbs through clinical evaluations conducted by Tasly (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., a leading name in herbal medicine research. The study focuses on their cardioprotective effects, analyzing key blood inflammation markers such as IL-6, IL-10, TNF-α, IFN-γ, CK-BB, CK-MM, and the IL-6/IL-10 ratio. These markers are critical indicators of inflammation and immune response, particularly in cardiovascular diseases. Furthermore, changes in gut microbiota, a crucial factor influencing systemic inflammation and overall health, were assessed before and after a one-month treatment period.

The results highlight the herbs' ability to modulate inflammatory responses, improve cardiovascular health, and restore gut microbiome balance. Such findings underline their potential not only as a complementary therapy but also as a bridge between traditional remedies and modern medicine. This comprehensive evaluation demonstrates that the combination of these herbs could offer a natural, effective solution for managing cardiovascular diseases, paving the way for their wider clinical application.

Abstract: The growing rise in cosmetic awareness, largely fueled by the pervasive influence of social media, has led to an increased demand for cosmetic surgeries and treatments, particularly among young adults. This study aims to explore the relationship between awareness levels, social influences, and self-esteem with spending behavior on cosmetic treatments among undergraduate students. Data was collected from a sample of 51 respondents through a structured questionnaire, examining variables such as media influence, personal experiences, safety, and self-esteem factors.

Multiple Correspondence Analysis (MCA) and Pearson’s Chi-squared tests were employed to identify significant relationships between the variables. Additionally, Fisher’s Exact Test was implemented to account for smaller sample sizes in some categories. The results indicated no statistically significant relationship between awareness levels and spending behavior (p > 0.05), while self-esteem and personal experiences (e.g., friends and family influence) were consistently associated with higher spending on cosmetic treatments, as revealed by MCA. Media exposure emerged as a strong contributing factor influencing spending behavior.

The findings suggest that self-esteem and media influence play a critical role in spending on cosmetic procedures among students. These insights point to potential avenues for targeted interventions, addressing the psychological and social drivers behind the rising demand for cosmetic treatments.
