Abstract: The banking sector in Kenya is one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy having registered significance growth in the past decade. However, very few studies have been done to examine the effect of financial innovation on performance of commercial banks in kenya especially equity bank of Kenya limited. The purpose of the study was to assess the effect of financial innovation on commercial bank’s financial performance as the key players in the banking sector over a period of 3 years. Kenya’s financial sector has undergone significant transformation in the last few years. Many new more efficient and real time financial systems have come into place. Despite the undeniable importance of financial innovation, its effect on financial performance is not always obvious since there are reported cases of reverse causality between innovation and performance.Study results indicated that financial innovation indeed contributes to and is positively correlated to profitability in the banking sector particularly that of commercial banks. This is further supported by high uptake of more efficient financial systems in substitution for the less efficient traditional systems. This is evidenced by the positive correlation between Real Time Gross Settlement and Automated Clearing House (Cheques & EFTs) throughput over time; as well as that of profitability and Automated Clearing House throughput.

Abstract: Field experiment was conducted at the Teaching and Research Farm of the Department of Agricultural Technology, Federal Polytechnic Bali, Taraba State in 2018 cropping season with the view to find out the influence of spacing on the growth and yield parameters of soybean. The experiment was carried out with four treatments (35 x 20 cm, 40 x 25 cm, 45 x 30 cm and 50 x 35 cm) replicated four times. Result obtained showed that spacing have influence on the growth and yield parameters of soybean. The results showed that wider spacing or low plant population densities (45 x 30 cm and 50 x 35 cm) encourages the growth and yield parameters of soybean in Bali. This was because the plant have enough space to utilize growth resources very well leading to good growth and finally the yield. All the parameters measured performed better at spacing of 50 x 35 cm followed by 45 x 30 cm. Therefore, considering the spacing that perform better (50 x 35 cm) in this research, farmers should adopt wider spacing with appropriate weed control for good growth and yield parameters of soybean in Bali, Taraba State and its environs.

The experiment was carried out using split plot design with spacing assign to main plot treatment and herbicides rates as sub plot treatment. The main plot treatments were: 35 x 20 cm, 40 x 25 cm, 45 x 30 cm and 50 x 35 cm and the sub plot treatments were: 0 kg a. i. /ha, 4 kg a. i. /ha, 6 kg a. i. /ha and 8 kg a. i. /ha replicated four times. Result obtained showed that herbicides rates of 6 and 8 kg a. i. /ha performed better in all the parameters measured during the experiment. This was because the rates control weeds better allowing plants to use growth resources without competition. When plants were well spaced and weeded free, there will be no competition between to plants and weeds. All the parameters measured performed better at higher dose indicating that the dose were optimum dose for weed control in Bali. Therefore, considering the optimum rates in this research, farmers should adopt 6-8 kg a. i. /ha of post-emergence herbicides (starforce and bentaforce) for weed control in Bali that leads to higher growth of soybean plant and subsequently leading higher yields.

Abstract: Linguistic Skills and Communicative competence are two integral aspects of Language learning. Generally it is taken for granted that the knowledge of the previous entails the later. But the research has found that it is not the case. The knowledge of linguistic skills does not necessarily result in good communicative competence. On the contrary the ability to communicate (though by means of para- linguistic features) has the potential to enhance the knowledge of Linguistic skills. The paper argues that in a classroom use of ICT the teacher must carefully choose paradigms and equipments so as to strengthen both the linguistic skills and Communicative competence.

Abstract: Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, is the largest and densely packed megacity in the world, has become an extremely vulnerable megacity to climate change in Asia and World as well. On the other hand, due to the increase of industrialization, electricity consumption and motor vehicle use, generation of greenhouse gases (GHG) and air pollution, Dhaka are now at danger level. Moreover, Dhaka is the most vulnerable flood-prone city both from the rivers and rainfall beyond the capacity of the city. On the other hand, in practice, governance of Dhaka megacity has become complex due to the multiplicity and lack of coordination among its agents. Consequently, Dhaka city dwellers have been facing multifarious problems, e.g., water-logging, poor sanitation, irregular waste disposal, massive traffic jams, inadequate supply of drinking water, scarcity of electricity and gas, unplanned housing, widespread poverty, proliferation of slums and squatter settlements, inadequate educational and health facilities, high degree of air and water pollution and a deteriorating law and order situation, etc. These problems intensified the climatic problem of the city. Failing to address the climate change impact will be a great hindrance to economic development and the existence of the city in the long-run. In this circumstance, a question rose that how Dhaka Megacity governance does adapts and implements the issue of climate change?  This paper discussed the general scenario of urban climate governance in Bangladesh and existing policies, adaptations, and mitigation programs have taken in Dhaka for climate change in specific.

Abstract: The quantitative-qualitative research study was conducted to determine the level of competence (skills), competence (knowledge), competence (classroom pedagogy) and competence (students’ support) among teachers’ teaching Social Science in Schools Division of Iloilo City for school year 2018-2019. Twenty five (25) teachers were involved as respondents in the study using purposive sampling technique. Researcher-made questionnaires on competence (skills), Competence (knowledge) competence (classroom pedagogy) and competence (student support) using 5 point Likert scale to determine the parameters of the study, further, this questionnaire underwent validation process; result was .09 submitted to the  panel of experts for fielding. As to reliability, the researcher follows the protocol of the research process to avoid unequal outcomes of the result.  All the data were computer processed. Descriptive data analysis using means, frequency count and percentage and standard deviations were utilized. Respondents were grouped as to age, sex, educational attainment and length of service variables were all “very high”. The standard deviations obtained from all the variables in the study are homogeneous.  T-test results revealed no significant differences in the levels of Competence (skills), competence (knowledge), competence (classroom pedagogy) and competence (students support) in terms of sex. The Analysis of Variance results revealed no significant differences in the levels of competence (skills), competence (knowledge), competence (classroom pedagogy) and competence (students’ support). Moreover, in qualitative side using Braun and Clarks patterned in formulation of themes; results revealed there were four generated themes formulated in the study such as, time management, perplexed with students’ behavior, multiple designation teachers and challenged neophyte.

Abstract: Beyond traditional television broadcast media, people rely on multiple streaming services and social media platforms for entertainment today. Television, as we know it, will continue to experience a drastic shift, not only impacting the way audiences enjoy television programs but also the way television companies determine ratings. In an increasingly social media dependent society, audiences have become more and more fragmented, watching programs on multiple platforms. The current review of literature about social media analytics of television programs has revealed that traditional ratings are not sufficient in gauging audience engagement, and instead, large data sets offered through social media platforms include audience dialogue and interactions as well. To add, social media engagement can impact the ratings of the shows themselves and depending on the content of social media conversations, can lead to negative outcomes such as the cancellation of TV programs. This research aims to understand the specific role social media analytics and big data have played not only in advertising TV programs, but also the way in which entertainment itself has been diversified and recategorized for today’s new market.

Abstract: The study explored the conceptual factors of college administrators as determinants of employees’ leadership satisfaction of Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISATU) during School Year 2015-2016. The respondents were the 56 employees, teaching and non-teaching, representing the five different campuses. The researcher used standardized questionnaires lumped in one, the Conceptual Factors and Leadership Satisfaction Questionnaire (CFLSQ), in order to gather data. The study revealed that dedication and commitment to work, courtesy and respect, and honesty in the delivery of the duties and responsibilities form a bunch of personal characteristics of a good leader. Moreover, high level of educational attainment such as PhD or EdD coupled with the behaviour of attending and conducting seminars and workshops make a good leader. The act of seeking for continuous professional growth and improvement also makes a good leader. Campus administrators had good leadership skills, management skills, work values and work motivation. They made a positive impression in the field both in teaching and non-teaching personnel. Teaching personnel are more satisfied than non-teaching on the leadership of campus administrators. Leadership skills is the highest predictor of the leadership satisfaction, although the three other factors are also predictors. The proposed Leadership Satisfaction Model states that: The employee’s leadership satisfaction is based on the leader’s personal characteristics, which are embodied in his work motivation and work values and professional characteristics, which are exemplified in his management and leadership skills. A similar study is recommended to validate the results.

Abstract: Solid waste transportation is one of the most important parts of solid waste management system which consume approximately 70-80% of overall cost of solid waste management system. The aim of this study is to develop a GIS based methodological approach to reduce the overall travel distance for transportation of municipal solid waste from residential area to landfill which result less fuel consumption. The shortest collection roads for transportation of municipal solid waste has been created using network analyst extension. All those bins which must visit for clearing purpose divided into clusters based on the capacity of the collection vehicle, the average rate of filling of bins and their proximity distance. Here, it assumed that the filling rate of all bins are equal during the collection period and considered to be 80%. After creating new road for transportation of urban solid waste has been found that the Total annual travelled distance in proposed waste collection system is 30% lesser than the total annual travelled distance covered by waste collection vehicle in current waste collection system.

Abstract: This study determined the educational leadership of the principal and teachers effectiveness and student performance at the North and South Districts Elementary School at Abuyog, Leyte. Findings served as the bases for a proposed instructional plan. The study examined  the following areas of concern: related information to principal and teachers; level of principals instructional leadership and human resource management of the school; level of performance of the teachers effectiveness in teaching learning process; students outcome in relation to teachers learning process; significant relationship between the level of principals leadership of the school and the job performance of the teachers; principals leadership affects job performance of teachers; challenges and barriers in the implementation of educational leadership. The researcher made use of the qualitative of research with the use of the questionnaire as the main tool in the gathering of important data. Quantitative method of research is the method of research in which data were quantified from the response of the questionnaire which were presented, analyzed and interpreted. On the basis of the findings, a conclusion is drawn principals instructional leadership and human resource management are assets of the institution, as well as the job performance of the teachers effectiveness in teaching learning process.

Abstract: The main concern of the present article is to study transient magnetohydrodynamics flow, heat and mass transfer past a permeable using 2-term perturbation scheme. The flow of liquid films are taken under the impact of thermal radiation. Effects of flow physical parameters including thermoporesis parameter(So), Schmidt number(Sc), Radiation parameter(R), Prandtl number(Pr), permeability parameter(K), slip parameter(h), chemical reaction parameter(Kc), Grashof number(Gr), modified Grashof Number(Gc) and perturbation parameter(E) on the fluid velocity, temperature and concentration distributions are scrutinized and discussed in detail. In this paper we studied two cases on velocity profiles, flow of cooled plate Gr > 0 and flow of heated plate Gr < 0.

Abstract: This research study examines the empirical relationship between structural capital and knowledge sharing behaviour in deposit money banks. Through a cross-sectional survey design, the study obtained data from a sample of 194 sample subjects using the questionnaire instrument. The data obtained were descriptively and inferentially analyzed using the Spearman Rank Order Correlation Co-efficient. From the analysed data, it was found that (1) system configuration as a dimension of structural capital relates with knowledge sharing behaviour measured by promptness and hoarding. (ii) Work strategy relates significantly with knowledge sharing behaviour in the studied banks; (iii) strategy focus relates significantly with knowledge sharing behaviour in the studied banks. It was concluded that structural capital correlates with knowledge sharing behaviour of work members in the studied deposit money banks. It was therefore recommended amongst others that organization managers should ensure organic work structure that facilitates knowledge sharing in the orgnanizations.

Abstract: The teachers’ basic tools for displaying lectures are through chalkboards, bulletin boards, transparencies with an overhead projector and power point presentation. The effect of power point in teaching physics is continuously debated. However, both supporters and opponents have insufficient empirical evidence. The present study was then conducted to find out the effect of power point in teaching undergraduate physics students in Colleges of Education in Borno State. This study adopted quasi experimental, specifically pretest, posttest non-equivalent control design. Simple randomization was used to select one College of Education out of the three existing Colleges in the state. The population for the study comprised all the NCE II physics students in the three Colleges, while the sample size consisted of 43 NCE II students offering physics in the selected College of Education. The sample size was divided into two groups and a selected-content based lecture on Mechanics and Properties of Matter II (PHY 213) was delivered. For one group (Experimental), lecture was delivered using power point presentation, and for the other group (Control), lecture was delivered using tradition lecture method. The instrument used for data collection was Single-based Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). One research question and one hypothesis guided the study. The hypothesis was tested at 0.05 level of significance. Statistical analysis was done using Mean, Standard deviation and student’s t-test. The results showed that students who were taught using tradition lecture (TL) method achieved significantly higher than their counterparts who were taught the same contents using power point presentation (PPP). Based on the results, it was therefore, recommended that lecture method should be adopted to teach physics in Colleges of Education in Nigeria.

Abstract: This research aimed to explore the lived experiences of participants and prospects on ERPAT implemented in 2017 and 2018 for program enhancement. This is a qualitative research utilizing Husserlian Phenomenology theory It also used interview, data analysis, observation as triangulation technique to add rigor in the research process. The research found out that if the fathers were given opportunity to be capacitated, they will become empowered and reaffirms their paternal roles in the family and community in general. As a solution; a training was designed for enhancement of ERPAT implementation at the Local Government Unit.
