Abstract: Electrochemical devices have attracted attention due to their low cost and simplicity, but significant improvements in their sensitivities are still needed for use with clinical samples. Wide band-gap group III nitride compound semiconductors (GaN/AlGaN materials system) are alternative options to supplement silicon in these applications because of their chemical inertness, high temperature/high power capability, high electron saturation velocity and simple integration with existing GaN based UV light emitting diode, UV detectors and wireless communication chips. The conducting 2DEG channel of AlGaN/GaN HEMTs is very close to the surface and extremely sensitive to adsorption of analytes. HEMTs sensors can therefore be used for detecting gases, ions, pH values, proteins, and DNA. This paper gives an overview on the use of GaN /AlGaN heterostructures for DNA biosensor applications.

Abstract: GDP and per-capita income are considered as the major indices for country’s economic growth and development which in turn affect the saving and investment patterns. Saving rate in India was extremely low and was about 9% during 1950-1951 but improved to 23.6% in the ninth plan and was still 36.9% in 2007-08 and fell down a little and was 33.7% in 2009-10 and this felt the need to have some security even after retirement in order to maintain the same standard of living. It has been observed that ageing population globally has become a worry and India too is witnessing an increase in old-age dependency. India does not have a universal social security system as large number of elderly Indians were not covered under any pension scheme. Thus, a reform in pension system will not only ensure a sense of social security to the citizens but also help the State Government and Central Government to cut their liabilities. NPS is a contributory system under which both the employer and employee will have to contribute certain amount from their salary and employee will be provided regular income from their contribution after retirement. The amount of contribution invested in pension funds will depend upon the guidelines prescribed by PFRDA. In order to promote, develop and regulate the pension market in India, PFRDA was established in 2003 and this development authority provides the right to beneficiaries/subscribers to choose any sort of pension funds and investment patterns and it is quite clear that the expected risk and returns depends upon the type of portfolio taken by the subscriber. It is a fact that larger the contribution, higher the returns earned and longer the period of investments, higher will be the retirement benefits available to the employees. This paper examines the performance of seven Pension Fund Managers operating Equity Scheme of NPS. The study is based on secondary data collected from NPS trust.org and various references mentioned below which is further analyzed  with the help of statistical tools such as mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation.

Abstract: This paper elaborates the synthesis of manganese ferrite nanoparticles and transition metals (Cobalt, Nickel, Cadmium) doped manganese ferrite nanoparticles via co-precipitation technique. The structural and magnetic properties of the obtained nanoferrites are investigated. X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) results substantiated the cubic spinel structure of prepared nanoferrites. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) is employed for functional group identification. The characteristic frequency of ferrites is found to be 550cm-1 - 450cm-1. The results of Energy Dispersive X –ray Spectroscopy (EDX) confirmed the presence of used materials without any impurities. Magnetic parameters are measured by Vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). All the measured magnetic parameters showed an increasing trend with the content of doping.

Abstract: Dress is the basic material cultural component of our daily lives. Through clothing, individuals establish their sense of self as well as their place in society. The connections between dress and both individual and collective identities continue to be of interest to scholars and practitioners in the domain of its interdisciplinary appeal in anthropology of dress and fashion. The present study has been undertaken among the girls of the academic institutions in rural areas of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. The objectives of the present study are to consider the patterns of dress and allied fashion as found among the girls of academic institutions in rural areas of North 24 Parganas under the study; to throw light on the formation of identities, norms and values around the dress and fashion followed in the present day and finally, to find the impact of urbanization and globalization on the existing pattern of clothing. During investigation it has been observed that besides their traditional dresses, the college going students under study occasionally choose various fashionable dresses through on line shopping, urban markets as well as shopping malls in the present days. There are social, cultural, socio-economic factors in the selection of dresses and fashions. Individuals try to wear dresses with social norms and cultural value. Finally, it is worth mentioning that the impacts of urbanization, modernization as well as globalization along with the influence of mass media play a vital role in this regard.

Abstract: There are many special fields in Education which have merged as a growing area of research. Interdisciplinary Approach along with disciplinary and trans- disciplinary approach is one of those demanding areas. The objective of present article is to explore the possibilities of interdisciplinary approach in the field of commerce, economics, management and allied disciplines. The disciplinary approach that we have followed till now is concentrated towards a single discipline while trans-discipline approach shows the possibilities of merging some common areas between two or more subjects together. The interdisciplinary approach tries to develop a single subject by combining two or more subject almost at hundred percent level. The importance of interdisciplinary approach can be further strengthenthed if universities start conducting researches on possibilities of integration of subjects and the researchers choose the interdisciplinary topics. In present article the researcher is finding the possibilities of merging commerce education at trans-disciplinary and interdisciplinary level.

Abstract: In this paper, two parameter Weibulldistribution model is considered for Bayesian risk analysis of survival function by assuming non-informative and informative priors such as Jeffrey’s, Extended Jeffrey’s and Lognormal-Inverted gamma using with different type of loss functions as Squared error loss function (SELF), General entropy loss function (GELF), Quadratic loss function (QLF), Weighted loss function(WLF) and Squared logarithmic loss function(SLLF). Abstract: NPAs have become a major problem for the banking sector in India. All the categories of SCBs have been encountering this problem since a long period of time. However the level of NPAs vary across different banks falling under different groups of SCBs. Moreover the efficiency with which they are dealing with this issue of NPAs also varies. So it is required to study their comparative efficiency in relation to NPA management.  In this research paper different new private sector banks have been comparatively analyzed with respect to their efficiency in NPA management. For this purpose the statistical techniques of Growth Rate Analysis and Descriptive Analysis have been used.

Abstract: Single crystals of Triglycine sulphate doped with Calcium Chloride (TGSCACL) were grown from aqueous solution by low temperature solution growth technique. Density of the sample was measured by floatation method. From EDX analysis, the presence of calcium chloride in grown crystals was identified. Crystalline quality and cell parameter values were found using powder XRD analysis. The various functional groups of the grown crystal have been identified by FTIR spectra. Mechanical strength of TGSCACL crystal was investigated by Vicker’s Microhardness test. The optical nature of the grown crystals was studied by UV - VIS  - NIR spectra. The dielectric studies have been performed by measuring dielectric parameters.

Abstract: Adhoc Sensor Networks consists of autonomous sensor nodes used for monitoring any environment. Issues that are faced in Adhoc Sensor Networks face are communication link failures, memory and computational constraints, and limited energy. To solve these constraints biological optimization techniques are used. A simple, effective, and computationally efficient optimization algorithm like Particle Swarm Optimization can be implemented to solve certain issues of Adhoc Sensor Networks. PSO can give solutions to optimal deployment, node localization, clustering, and data aggregation of the sensor nodes. We have presented a brief survey on how PSO can solve certain problems very efficiently. The multi-hop feature of an ad hoc network suggests the use of clustering to simplify routing and management. This paper presents a optimized solution to find the cluster head position for efficient communication of a True Positive alarm in monitoring applications.

Abstract: The study aims to empirically test the relationship between types of campus adaptations across social category of caste among engineering undergraduate B. Tech students pursuing a four-year study at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT’s) and National Institute of Technology (NIT’s) in India.

Method: - The Multivariate Analysis of Variance (Manova) test was run with SPSS vs. 21 to compare the student’s campus adaptations of IIT’s and NIT’s by student’s academic year level. Multistage random sampling with n = 1420 students were selected comprising of Multistage random sampling with n = 1420 students were selected comprising of general category of students (n = 924), scheduled caste students (n = 94), scheduled tribe students (n = 50) , other backward class students (n = 255) and (n =97) of students who did not associate themselves to any of the social category of caste.

Result: - In academic adaptation, general category and scheduled caste students had positive outcomes with negative outcomes in scheduled tribe and other backward classes. In Social Adaptation, scheduled caste and other backward classes had positive outcomes with general category and scheduled tribe category having negative outcomes. In physical – psychological adaptation, only general category of students had positive outcomes with negative outcomes in scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward class. Finally, at institutional adaptation, only other backward classes had positive adaptation with general category, scheduled caste and scheduled tribe category having negative outcomes.

Conclusion: - Campus adaptations do vary across social category of caste influencing student’s experiences at IIT’s and NIT’s.

Abstract: The study aimed to evaluate the problems of solid waste management in Nigeria particularly in Jalingo Metropolis. This descriptive study used a survey questionnaire supported by interviews.  32 respondents were randomly selected. The Data collected were processed and treated using percentage, mean, Analysis of variance and frequency count. The population for this study is employees of Taraba State Ministry of Environment and Urban Development. The population figure for the study was 32 respondents, comprising of Taraba State Ministry of Environment and Urban Development staff from various departments Since the population for the study was not large, and data could be collected from all the respondents, the researcher adopted the convenient sampling technique to successfully complete the study. All 32 respondents were used for this study. From the study, several problems are experienced in solid waste management in Jalingo Metropolis that include: Inadequate service coverage (some people not given service), Lack of legislation, to enforce measures and capability, difficulty to locate and acquire landfill site data for this study was collected from the respondents through the use of questionnaires. Other information was collected from text books, journals and other secondary sources of data.Findings from the study revealed that wastes are not properly managed in some dumping Site within Jalingo Metropolis, Taraba State, poor solid waste management leads to flooding, poor solid waste management which makes the environment unhealthy, strategies have been put in place for proper solid waste management in some dumping Site within Jalingo Metropolis, Taraba State.

Abstract: Road transportation is one of the most preferred modes for passenger and freight movement. It possesses certain advantages compared to other modes of transportation such as easy availability, door to door services, possibility for motorised and non-motorised transportation etc. Due to these advantages, there is a high dependence on this particular mode for both passenger and freight transportation. This mode creates serious ill effects such as air pollution, noise pollution, congestion and road accidents. Of all these problems, road accidents have become the most threatening. This problem is not confined within the boundaries of a particular state or nation but is a problem world-wide. This decade (2011 to 2020) is marked as the Decade of Action For Road Safety by the United Nations with the objective of achieving zero accidents rate by 2020. In line with this, India has also set the objective of zero accidents rate by 2020. Will Kerala, which contributes heavily to the national road accident figures, be able to achieve the same is a serious question that needs an answer. It is in this context that this paper tries to assess the road accidents problem in Kerala.

Abstract: This study assessed the challenges affecting management of electronic waste (E- waste) in Tanzania, especially in postal industry so as to make workable recommendations for enhancing management of electronic waste. Specifically, the study focused at studying the roles management system, technological advancement, financial capacity and staff competence on management of e- waste at the Postal industry. The study generally, recommends for authorities involved to re-evaluating the approaches applied in dealing with e waste in a collaborative manner by involving key stake stakeholders.

Abstract: The study aimed to determine the work values of the teaching personnel in the Department of Education, Division of Leyte, Philippines.  The study sought to determine the personal profile of the teaching personnel of the Department of Education, Division of Leyte, Philippines, their work values as well as their level of performance.  Using the descriptive research design involving 100 respondents, the study used the survey questionnaire in gathering the data.  Majority of the teaching personnel belonged to the age group 21-30 years.  Majority of the teaching personnel were female, married, bachelor degree holders, worked in the department for five years and below, and without in-service trainings/seminars attended. The work values for teaching in terms of achievement, independence, recognition, support, working conditions, and job satisfaction got an average weighted mean categorized as “Agree”, “Agree”, “Moderately agree”, “Agree”, “Agree”, and Agree”, respectively.  On the level of performance of the teaching personnel, got an average weighted mean categorized as “Often exceeds expectations”.  Teaching personnel should be made to feel that they are the important resource in order for them to improve their teaching functions.  Likewise, the administration must inculcate desirable work values and provide proper motivation towards the teaching and non-teaching personnel to attain the organization’s goal.

Abstract: Urban areas are often described as engines of economic growth which offer its residents greater opportunity for work, commercial activities and access to key services. This has led to higher population growth rates and widespread internal migration. But urban development has not proceeded evenly and uniformly through space. Spatial inequalities within urban areas appear in almost all urban areas. The focus here is on the process that has promoted spatial inequalities in Bangalore city. The spatial growth of Bangalore began with the British establishing the Civil and Military station in 1807. The industrialization process which began aroun1870s further expanded the city. In the 1980s the Electronic Industry was established leading to the growth of information technology sector. The investments in infrastructure in Bangalore were made according to the need of the industries without consideration of social equity. One of the greatest challenges that Bangalore city faces today is spatial inequality Spatial inequalities are also caused due to lack of power which the majority of the population has in the decision making process that influence and determine the circumstances of their daily lives. An attempt is made to trace the process that has given rise to spatial inequalities in Bangalore city.
