Abstract: A review of literature suggests that research in the area of youth, especially youth tourism, is not well developed and has mostly been ignored in the past. It is only in the recent times that the interest of the world has started to shift towards this segment of tourists because of their considerable increase in number and their global significance in the tourism industry in terms of their economic contribution. However, problems arise while trying to correctly identify the segment as there has been a wide range of definitions for youth as well as youth tourists in different literature. Various governmental and non-governmental organizations in the world have defined the concept differently to serve their purposes. Thus, this paper is an attempt to shed some light on the concept of youth and youth tourism by reviewing some relevant literature in the subject area.

Abstract: Food insecurity is a major problem facing the Kenyan populace. There are acute food shortages that do not satisfy the increasing population as traditional food stocks continue to be depleted as a result of environmental changes and increasing population. Faced with problems of food insecurity, increasing food prices and over-reliance on the traditional food items, there is an urgent need for Kenyans to diversify their food sources. In western Kenya, the termites have a long history of consumption as a delicacy during the rainy seasons. A major problem is that they are varied in species and may not all contain the ingredients required by humans for nutrition. There are also very few studies that have attempted to evaluate the totality of white ants in Kenya. The aim of this study was to determine the proximate composition of the termites in Western Kenya. This was done with an overall aim of determining whether termites can be declared as an alternative food source in Kenya. Data were collected and analyzed for proximate composition of moisture, protein, lipids, crude fiber. Essential Amino Acid (EAA) profiles were evaluated to determine protein composition. Food value of the different species was analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Results indicated that termites have high levels of moisture content of 90.2% crude protein (64%), crude lipids (9.35%), crude fibre (9.53), gross energy of 4.99 kcal and the essential amino acids at 31.5g/100g. Due to the conditions of families in Kenya this can be a substitute for the sources of protein substitute for red meat and Tilapia fish meals preferred by many households. The profile of Essential Amino Acid in the current study was found to be high and therefore white ants formed a very good source of essential amino acid to the local people. This study therefore concludes that white ants are suitable alternative food source to replace major rotein food and nutritionists should start a campaign of making the white ants a delicacy. Given that white ants are neglected food in Kenya, it is recommended that the food items should be consumed as one of the food in the traditional diets in areas where the species occur.

Abstract: Folate is a water soluble vitamin & more effective when started from 1st 3 month before  the conceptional & after 3 month of conception recommendation dose will enhancing the health of pregnant mother with prevention of congenital anomaly of NTD in new born infant. Aims & Objectives: To assess the effectiveness of planned teaching programme on knowledge regarding the  importance of folic acid supplements in the prevention of neural tubal defect among early adulthood girls in selected colleges of Vadodara.” Methods: An evaluative research approach with pre-experimental one group pre-test post-test design was used. Sample was selected by using Quota sampling technique. Data was collected by using self-structured knowledge questionnaire. The data was tabulated and analyzed in term of objectives of the study, using descriptive and inferential statistics. Results: the mean post-test knowledge score (21.48) also was higher than the mean pre-test score (10.22). It was found that calculated value 30.14 was much higher than the tabulated’ value- at 0.05% level of significance. The chi-square value shows that there is a significant association between knowledge of early adulthood girls with selected demographic variables such as age and type of family and stream of education. There is no significant association between religion and living area. Conclusion: The study finding revealed that planned teaching program was highly effective in improving knowledge of early adulthood girls.

Abstract: This study analyzed the strategies of cultural intermediaries in Taiwanese crafts through strategies of micro craft entrepreneurs’ thought processes. Faced with increasing competition, artisans focus on enhancing product innovation and production capacity, most artisans have weak self-marketing abilities and limited resources. Craft artisans require professional marketing assistance to facilitate the creation and promotion of their artwork. Cultural intermediaries serve as a bridge between artisans and the market, enabling artisans to focus on their work. In-depth interviews were conducted with 9 cultural intermediaries of micro scale of Craft Arts industry to understand the strategies of craft brokerage. The results indicate that the strategies of the traits of cultural intermediaries, in partnership with artisans, price of services, and customer relationship management. Cultural intermediaries carefully select artisans who are willing to cooperate with them and evaluate the artisans’ work, also identify craft sector demands to direct artisans toward creating such crafts. Committed to different levels of creative marketing projects, cultural intermediaries play important roles in the development of the craft arts industry.

Abstract: The study of hospitality and tourism education is considered important due to the fact that it is a vital industry in the business sector. The main aim of the study is to find out the curriculum policies and practices of Hospitality and Tourism Education in the Iloilo State College of Fisheries (ISCOF) System. This study employed the quantitative descriptive design involving the use of questionnaires and/or statistical surveys to gather data on curriculum policies and practices of Hospitality and Tourism Education in ISCOF System. This was supported with qualitative analysis that best describe the curriculum policies and practices of the hospitality and tourism education in ISCOF system when classified according to teacher qualification and learning environment. It also described the challenges encountered by the administrators and teachers in the implementation of the hospitality and tourism education. And based on the result of the study an intervention plan was formulated. The study found out that when it comes to teachers educational qualification, majority are Masters Degree holders, have special trainings with TESDA as a requirement for teaching skilled or laboratory subjects and have 10 years or more number of years of service. ISCOF System is accessible because it is located beside the national and provincial roads so therefore, it can be easily reached by its clientele. ISCOF schools are patronized by residents of the neighboring towns because of its reasonable students’ populace. Substantial facilities are prescribed by CHED in CMO No. 30 series of 2006. Due to tight budget, and the cost of hospitality teaching laboratories and other training facilities are relatively higher comparing with the investment of other subjects, very limited financial resources have been invested for improving teaching facilities and conditions.

Abstract: Espousal of the Internet and computing technologies by the entire globe proceeds on a faster pace and has made it an inevitable part of our day to day life and work. The implementation of information technology on a faster pace in all areas of life, including libraries, has led to the analysis on how information technology impacts the nature and service quality of work.  The application of computer-based systems in libraries and information units is now a trend. The era of manual system in library operations is becoming extinct. The current developments in information arena tend towards a system named as information communication technology (ICT). The article depicts a clear picture on the shift in Library management with the aid of computerization in Libraries, the impact the automated system on quality of working life, role of computers in the fundamental operations of libraries, resource sharing, database management and role of internet in libraries.

Abstract: Climate change is a serious issue that affects the lives and livelihood of people. This issue had to be tackled at the earliest to save the world from serious catastrophe. Media plays a major role in creating awareness and behavioral change among the public. Social media is the new medium for communication among people to sensitize the issue. Since most of the people are accessing information through mobiles and tablets the level of awareness are high among the general public. This paper analyses the literature on influence of social media on climate change among public which will be helpful for the future researchers. Abstract: Soil’s yield capacity is depends on often complex and sometimes little understood interactions between the biological, chemical and physical properties of soil. Good farm practice aims to manage the various factors that make up each of these three properties to optimize the yields of crops in environmentally friendly ways. The purpose of the study is to identify the spatial distribution of pH, Electrical Conductivity (EC) and macro nutrient of the soil of the Pudukkottai districts along with fertility index of Nitrogen, Phosphorous and Potassium using Parker’s fertility index and its spatial distribution can be derived through ArcGIS software. The results of the study shows that there has been 100 per cent of the soil samples shows the low level of nitrogen, only 32 per cent of the soil samples is high in available phosphorous and only 7.5 per cent of the soil samples is high in available potassium. Soil fertility status of the Pudukkottai district shows that 100 per cent, 30 per cent and 73.5 per cent of the soil samples has low nitrogen fertility, phosphorous fertility and potassium fertility respectively.

Abstract: Vellore District is one of the most polluted in Tamil Nadu, India. The present study deals with the physio - chemical characteristics of ground water quality in Vellore district. Samples were collected from 24 locations within study area during month of May 2015. Sampling is done at each station in polythene bottles of one - liter capacity. The samples were analyzed various water quality parameters such as PH, Electrical conductivity (EC), Total dissolved solids (TDS), Total Hardness (TH), Calcium(Ca), Mgnesium(Mg), Sodium (Na), Potassium(K), Bicarbonate (HCO3), Chloride (Cl), Sulphate(SO4), Nitrate (NO3), and Fluoride (F), were determined using standard method. The methods used for estimation of various physio-chemical parameters of water were plotted in GIS (Geographical Information Systems).

Abstract: The central theme of the paper is to shed light on the history of invention of statistics. In this paper, a comprehensive review of literature in ‘statistics invented as regression’ has been made. Covered the definition of statistics in the changed context, this paper frameworks sufficient debate and discussions about regression analysis considered to be the invention of statistics as a discipline. In the paper, regression in the context of least square theory invention is discussed. And, enclosed is, the debate among Legendre and Gauss, who to be taken for the inventor of least square theory. Comprehensively put forward is, when and who invented this powerful and most flexible discipline regression, which one day had to be the invention of the sole subject statistics. This paper interests any individual who wants to know how statistics was invented and what that was at the very first, was considered to be the subject statistics.
