Abstract: This study assessed the effects of the developed multimedia-based materials in Mother Tongue towards comprehension of Grade one learners in identified Medium Schools at Carcar City Division, Carcar City, Cebu during the School Year 2019-2020. This study made use of the quasi-experimental method with the pre-post test results using the Early Grade Reading Assessment adapted from Carcar City Division before and after exposure to graphic-based materials. The frequency and simple percentage, z-test and T-test Mean Difference were used for the treatment of data. The finding reveals that there is a significant improvement of the reading comprehension after employing the intervention of the enhanced graphic-based reading materials. The use of the enhanced graphic-based materials enabled pupils to achieve better reading performance and the use of graphic based was very motivating and beneficial since graphic based did not only enhance the pupils reading level but also improve and develop their reading comprehension as well.

The pandemic will also create the new customer opportunity for the sports equipment in Bangalore from a stay at home many people start indoor sport at home rather than in an open field.

The complexity of the pandemic is simplified by having a redefined marketing strategy for specific products for sport Activity. Knowing the current market nature and prepare the current solution can make all marketers competent.

The variation and gap that occur by COVID-19 in business sports Equipment can be solved by knowing the key customer with an appropriate marketing channel. Money research has been conducted on the impact and market strategy to overcome new situation occur due to COVID-19.

Redefining marketing is not only helps to have a new customer but also builds a competitive business environment in our city. Having a redefined market strategy also updates customer loyalty with a harsh COVID-19 environment.

The COVID-19 has a significant impact on 4P (Production, Price, Promotion, and Place) of sports equipment by shifting the economic scenario before. The crisis became more adverse if not ready by updating change economic environment. This research important to bring new and updated strategies for new marketing scenarios.

Abstract: COVID 19 has been already acquired the position in our history as a pandemic that shook the world entirely with its various effects on humanity. This pandemic has led to the shut-down of all sectors of life and have caused the dead of millions all over the world. The shut-down of industries had a huge impact on the developing countries like India where poverty is the major challenge to accomplish. Lock down has effected the daily wagers as their only source of income was in halt, agriculture sector have also suffered loss due the economic instability. This research would combine the daily wagers and agriculture by looking into the food eating pattern of daily wagers during the lock down period. The research attempted to look into the food habits of daily wagers to identify the rate of consumption of tapioca instead of rice. This paper will be conducting a semi structure interview which will be analysed to obtain the results.

Abstract: It is frequently argued that exchange rate movements can impact productivity. Balassa (1964) and Samuelson (1964) have shown that real exchange rate will appreciate in countries where productivity growth is faster compared to the rest of the world. However, for developing countries one cannot generalize the hypothesis that a real appreciation of one currency will positively impact productivity. The present study estimates productivity growth in Indian organized manufacturing industries with more up to date and comprehensive data for the manufacturing sector of the economy. Tornqvist Productivity Index technique is used to compute total factor productivity and thereafter find total factor productivity growth. Multi-variate regression model is tested between individual industry productivity growth and independent variables.

Abstract: The current nursing shortage and high job turnover among nurses worldwide are still of great concern for nations because of their impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of the healthcare delivery system and their impact on global health goals. This systematic review was based on 33 scientific articles published between 2016 and 2020 in the core Web of Science database. Among the 33 papers selected, 12 were conducted in China, and 21 were carried out outside China. The purpose was to identify the similarities between the determinant of turnover intention among Chinese nurses and nurses working in healthcare institutions in other countries in the world. For each included study, the country, purpose, methods, and key findings were the relevant aspects considered for the analysis. The results revealed that the factors affecting turnover intention are common in China and other parts of the world. These factors include job satisfaction, organizational commitment, job stress, workload, burnout, management style, demographic characteristics, work environment, and other organizational factors. This research confirms that turnover intention is a global issue that needs to be addressed efficiently to limit the continuous effects on people’s health.

Title: Turnover Intention Among Hospitals’ Nurses in China and Abroad: A Synoptic Review

Abstract: The study investigated the effect of project management capabilities on project outcomes at Kenya airport authority. The explicit objectives were to examine the influence of planning, management commitment, resource allocation and monitoring and evaluation on project results at Kenya Airports Authority. The resource-based theory, contingency theory and stakeholder theory were selected to found the basis of the research. The study was based on the primary data majorly from the closed-ended questions. The study made sure that the reliability and validity of research instruments were ascertained. Data analysis involved inferential (regression) and descriptive analysis. The study concluded that management commitment, resource allocation, monitoring and evaluation and project planning had significant effect on performance of expansion projects at Kenya Airport Authority. The study recommends that KAA should ensure the effective an efficient mobilization and distribution of resources which cut across financial resources, human resources, technological resources and physical resources. The study further recommends that planning policies should be adhered to and also efficient contingency plan be put in place as these ensured greater performance of expansion projects at Kenya Airport Authority.

Abstract: This paper debates the means in which the idea of smart farming can be enhanced using beekeeping technologies in the sub-region of mid-north Uganda, as confidence in the budding of smart farming to bolster sustainable development provides way. Inside the familiar writings, there is abundant discussion of the pressure between realizing economic development as well as ensuring that there is sustainable growth, however, this discussion has seldom been stretched to bee-keeping in a less-developing country. More serious versions have occasionally been embraced in an all-encompassing outlook. A case study of one bee-keeping farm is selected to explore the prospect of smart farming through bee-keeping. It is apparent that this fluctuates significantly consistent with the level of technology adopted. No matter by what method smart farming is assembled, nevertheless, the degree to which its pathways offer it with some amount of reliance is determined by a comprehensive array of elements comprising availability of resources, readiness of the farmer, level of supports offered to the farmer, and ability to adopt the preferred technology. It is thus established that enhancing smart farming through bee-keeping technologies can be principally stimulating for farmers in the study area though the socioeconomic anxieties lie with obtaining initial investment capitals.

Abstract: Smart farming offers a potentially beneficial prospect for farming in Uganda and beyond. Nonetheless, there is no adequate methodical inquiries on what smart farming essentially denotes and the different openings through which it can be boosted in this perspective. This study aimed to look at one of the different opportunities by which smart farming can be enhanced in mid-north Uganda, that is, irrigation technology, through an experiential analysis of the success stories and observed patterns of those that have implemented the technology. The outcomes appear to describe fundamentally interrelated and reciprocally underpinning components that facilitate irrigation technology to enhance smart farming even where several issues of socioeconomic background remain restrictions. The issues involve initial capital investment as well as abilities and information necessary to operate as well as sustain the technology.  Also, the source of water, pipe used to direct the water to the sprinkler, the pump used and the sprinkler used to irrigate the land are key attributes for keeping irrigation technology afloat while at the same time enhancing the much sought for smart farming. We conclude that the above elements echo with the ideas of food security as well as sustainable agricultural practices. This study offers a valued abstract for agricultural extension workers serving local communities in Uganda to promote ecologically responsive farming technologies.

Abstract: Recent trends indicate that the level of environmental degradation and its impact on climate change is almost irrevocable; the global society has decided that issues of climate change become central to every strategy, policy framework, programmes and intervention. Before this, a number of academics projected that we would reach this level given that human numbers appeared to outgrow all other resources and human needs such as food, housing, public facilities and transportation. As yet, farming, which cannot be stopped due to the need to feed the growing human population, demands a far different trend so that humanity continue surviving. Smart technologies, in every aspect, including farming has thus become the buzzword and nations have no choice but to adopt available technologies. Our paper discusses one of these innovative technologies, fish farming, outside of the traditional freshwaters in lakes, rivers and oceans. We focus on fish farming technologies as a strategy to enhancing smart farming, which is recognised as a frontrunner in offering farmers and humanity a choice to contribute to sustainable development. We conclude that there are many innovative ventures in smart farming but fish farming technologies in terms of construction design of the fish pond, water quality management in the fish pond, feeding of the fish, and marketing of the harvested fish, appear to offer a wider hope. Nonetheless, low-income households will have to keep relying on fish from freshwaters.

Title: One-step at a time: Adopting fish Farming technologies as a smart farming initiative among smallholder farmers in Oyam district, Uganda

Abstract: A visit to TAF Agri-Tourism Farm, located in Anyomorem parish, Lira City East Division revealed that an incubator is used for the production of local chicken and is being commercialized. Reportedly domesticated around 5,000 BC in Southeast Asia, chicken is globally kept and as of 2018, with the introduction and use of modern solar-powered, electricity-powered or fuel powered incubators, the number of chickens increased to about 23.7 billion. In sub-Sahara Africa, and Uganda (which had about 1,274 incubators as of 2014), most farmers still hold-on to the traditional reproduction of chicks as opposed to using incubator. The ZFF Thermal Air Hova-Bator was preferred by TAF Agri-Tourism Farm due to its economical and efficient benefits. The outcome of these aspects were found to be major: that this type of incubator which has a temperature and humidity regulator needs to be placed in a dark room without open windows in order to control light; and that it is able to incubate and hatch a maximum of 200 chicks and any one round of hatchery period. In the incubator, eggs are turned frequently between 4-17 days and thereafter locked completely until they are hatched. After hatching, chicks are transferred to the brooder, and later to a growing wing. Upon maturity, excess cockerels are sold-off. The farm management uses internet to advertise or receive payments but make a physical delivery of chicken to its customers.

Title: Enhancing smart farming through egg-incubation technology: A micro-study in lira city, mid-north Uganda

Abstract: This study was intended to investigate the potential of embracing drip irrigation technology as a strategy to stimulating smart farming in Dokolo district. We adopted a descriptive design on one of the farms that has employed the technology benefiting approximately 80 community members. Data were collected using in-depth interviews and observations and it was analysed using a thematic analysis based on the key aspects that emerged in the study. The outcomes suggest that the merger of key beneficiaries, the irrigation system, architecture and the solar power station have the potential of translating farming communities in Dokolo district into smart farmers even if the initial cost as well as cost of maintenance are very high thus the need for government to subsidise farmers during importation of such machinery. These outcomes may be used as contributions for the mid-north farming communities to benchmark and seek means of adopting group-based irrigation schemes for continuity and higher crop yields. This paper contributes to available knowledge by emphasising the centrality of irrigation in the era of longer periods of drought that continue to disappoint farmers country-wide.

Abstract: Smart farming in less-developing nations and or societies has been discouraged with a pretext that it is an impossible venture to undertake yet every community in the world can be empowered to embrace smart farming for sustainable development and food security.  Examining smart farming openings using bee keeping, builds upon our understanding of traditional systems and provides a lens to examine contemporary mechanisms to transformation while applying smart farming initiatives to practice.  We identify three key values of bees, namely medicinal, economic and organic, which provide a clear-cut entry into the thinking of smart farming necessary for examining such technologies. This article presents bee-keeping as implemented by Trained Apiary Farmers (TAF) Agri- Tourism Farm in an urban setting of Lira city, and examines it along the three dimensions of medicinal, economic and organic. We conclude that adoption of bee-keeping technologies offers a great hope for the city’s economy, therapeutic supplements, and organic needs in countless ways. The study is a huge boost to the academia seeing that medics are now turning to herbal curation, in which bee-keeping is a potential resource.

Abstract: Smart farming has become a world-wide sensation and Uganda is no exemption to this movement. In Uganda, the impact of climate change presents farmers with new challenges and so is the aggregate demand for food in the country. Farmers, in Uganda, represent the biggest constituency and the situation is less likely to change for many years to come. However, there have been a substantial amount of studies, reports documented as well as investigations being circulated with a consistent inference that there are tenacious dangers facing the farmer in Uganda. Thus, evolving and executing proper policies, guidelines and programmes that are aimed to alleviate dangers facing the farmer need to become a pre-eminence for the government than it presently does. Winning the farmer into water-pump technologies as one of the means to enhancing smart farming is one such optimism seeing that the dry spell is now overriding the wet season and the farmer can no longer rely solely on rain fed agri-production. In this study, we examine the budding potential enshrined in this endeavour by looking at manual water pumping in Ober parish in Lira city, mid-north Uganda. It is concluded that this technology has the prospect of transforming a smallholder farmer into a smart farmer thereby the aggregate output per unit.

Abstract: This study aimed to examine the realities of poultry farming technologies as enablers of smart farming in Lira city. A descriptive design was adopted targeting one poultry farm in the city of Lira and data were collected using observation, discussions and in-depth interviews. The outcomes were analysed using thematic analysis and findings suggest that the four major aspects were identified in this study, namely; the major characteristics of the artificial incubator selected or preferred by the farmer, the eggs incubation and hatching processes, feeding and growth process for the chickens, and marketing processes have a reliable potential in enhancing smart farming among urban farmers in Lira city and beyond. However, there are threats arising out of chicken diseases, which result into deep loses on the side of a farmer and have disappointed many a poultry farmer in the city. These outcomes may be used as empirical resources for the Lira city authorities to develop a clear strategy for poultry farming as well as safety measures aimed to mitigate poultry diseases for higher profit. The study is a positive contribution to the knowledge and dynamics involved in poultry but also as a pathway to attaining one of the global targets of smart farming.
