Abstract: Atmospheric ozone concentration and its change when earthquake with magnitude 5.2 on the Richter scale occurred in New Delhi on March 5, 2012 has been reported with the help of satellite data obtained from Total Ozone Mapping Spectrometer (TOMS), and Ozone Monitoring Instrument. Delhi being the capital of India where frequent earthquakes are observed the affect of earthquake on March 5, 2012 and its affect on atmospheric ozone concentration is reported. The ozone concentration was found to be 269 Dobson Units (DU) on the day of the earthquake, and reached a maximum value of 340 Dobson Units within 30 days after the day of earthquake. The average value of ozone was 284 Dobson Units for the whole year. The ozone value reached 269 Dobson Units after 129 days from the date of earthquake. The variation in ozone concentration was found to be dependent on the magnitude of the earth quake, depth of focus, wind direction and geographical location of the epicenter.

Abstract: Our paper discusses the importance of dynamic capabilities which is a growing area of research and fits into the rapidly changing dynamic business environment. It is drawing the attention of the researchers and is an area which is being studied further to understand its implications across industries. This paper reviews the evolution of the dynamic capabilities approach from the resource based view over the years and how it is apt for the firms to survive in the dynamically ever-changing environment. It also draws attention on how resources and capabilities in the internal environment help build-up the dynamic capabilities and its component factors and help to create competitive advantage. The swiftness with which the firm successfully addresses the challenges that it faces in the external environment by adjusting its internal resources and capabilities works to its advantage and thereby leading to the attainment of organizational performance. The science and knowledge driven Indian pharmaceutical industry is an example which is experiencing this dynamic environment and some examples have been cited.

Abstract: Present work deals with wireless control of electric motor. Electric motor works on electricity and the electric supply is given to it through electronic switch called Relay. Relay action is controlled i.e ON and OFF action is controlled by the SMS sent by mobile handset. The required hardware for implementation of above control includes: Bluetooth device, microcontroller and relay. The SMS sent by a mobile handset with the use of mobile app developed in android studio software. The present work gives basic understanding of widely used Bluetooth technology to the beginners as well as to the students of computer science.

Abstract: The trace elements level in five tailings of gold ore samples from Maga mining area, Danko-Wasagu were determined using proton induced X-ray emission (PIXE) method. Si content in the samples studied was found remarkably high. Si concentrations varied from 287099.5 to 550376.7 ppm with a mean value of 398260.04 ppm. Significantly increased amount of the elements K, Fe, S, P, Ti, Ca, Cr. Ba, Sr, Zr, Cu, Rb, Zn, Sr, Cu, and Ni was observed in the samples as well. Concentrations of Fe ranged from 124072 to 333870.6 ppm with a mean of 111296.54 ppm. The mean concentrations of S, Ti, Pb, P, Cr, Ca, Ba, V, Zr, Mn, Cu, Sr, Zn, Rb, and Ni were 3623.3, 3299.3, 1628.025, 1263.54, 1158.22, 733.1, 687.25, 346.6, 284.7, 250.9, 197.74, 177.36, 101.67, 86.65 and 13.4 ppm respectively. But the concentrations of most elements were higher than the standard concentration. The presence of the elevated amount of the hazardous heavy metals in the area was primarily due to extremely high concentration of these elements in the gold ores being excavated from mining area. The legitimacy of the method was done by analyzing Standard Reference Material NIST (Obsidian rock) standard 278 and found to be compatible. PIXE is a multi element systematic technique used for the determination of major, minor and trace elements in the range of parts per million (ppm). My study has been carried out at the Centre for Energy Research and Development (CERD), Obafemi Awulowo University (OAU) Ile-Ife, Osun state Nigeria. Using 1.7 MeV Tandem accelerators. The X-ray spectra were measured by a Si (Li) detector and analyzed off-line using GUPIX software.

Thermal analysis was studied by TGA, DSC method. Morphological studies were carried out by scanning electron microscopic method. DNA binding studies was carried out by cyclicvoltammetric method .From the spectral studies a square planar geometry was proposed for the copper complex. In conclusion, prepared complexes showed enhanced DNA binding tendency than the parent drug that might be of interest for future research.

Abstract: Emergence of computers, access to electronic media, advances in telecommunication systems, audio-visual technology, and multimedia have given us new possibilities in dealing with the problems of collection development, organization and dissemination of vast amount of information. The emergence of information technology has created greater opportunities in the Libraries in the 21st Century. The efforts of computers and telecommunication have converted the world into an electronic village. The user demands are forcing the application of new technologies, new modes of access to knowledge resources and new techniques of knowledge search etc, in the Libraries. Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Saiyid Hamid library is the heart of institutions, so it must be strength to provide information to the users. Library plays are important role in providing electronic resources to the Faculty. They are regarded as the heart of the academic institution. The primary data was collected through a questionnaire of 100 faculty members of Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU). This paper highlights the need and importance of electronic resources. The collected data regarding the use of electronic resources in MANUU was analyzed, suggesting measures to improve the use of electronic resources. Maximum users are satisfied with the electronic services and collection in Saiyid Hamid library.

Abstract: Land degradation refers to lowering of the productive capacity of land due to natural processes and/or human activities. This paper aims to assess the degree of susceptibility to land degradation in Haora drainage basin (HDB) of Tripura, 2016. Susceptibility refers to vulnerability to land degradation. Land resources often suffer from various levels of degradation. The assessing susceptibility of land degradation emerges as an important field of study essential for proper land management and planning. The degree of land degradation varies over space and time, as per the causative factors of an area. In order to predict the susceptibility to land degradation in Haora drainage basin, a susceptibility map of land degradation has been prepared to take the following indicators viz. land use land cover (LULC), vegetation cover (from NDVI), and slope aspect of Haora drainage basin. Weightage has been assigned to each category of land use land cover (LULC) of 2016. Mapping land degradation susceptibility helps in the management of land resources.

Abstract: Economic enabling environment entails the inclusive financial system. Though there is widespread of Jan dhan Yojana but penetration of microfinance in Madhya Pradesh (MP) to large population is still not taken place and huge population is below poverty line and financially excluded. This research paper emphasize on potential significance to promote microfinance in poverty eradication and aim to critically evaluate the present state of microfinance in MP. The basis of this article is the investigation of ongoing microfinance programme which are facing challenges of low growth and from various reports like Reports of Nabard, RBI, Status of Microfinance, SLBC, World Bank, journals, insights of microfinance experts, books, websites et cetera to examine to such degree that result of research could address root cause of the problem and identify the issues which retarded the growth of microfinance a developmental tool. The findings are that Government sponsored microfinance programmes are showing slowdown in comparison of private players and prime reasons are external and internal environmental issues. Call of action is that given the size and potential importance of microfinance programme in poverty eradication and promotion of micro enterprises the researcher should explore the innovative ways of its growth. For policy framers, this imperative role is to facilitate microfinance programme by integration of external & internal environmental factors state wise in policies is apparent is this research.

Abstract: Thermocouples; the key of precise measurements are considered as the integral part of temperature and emf measuring systems not only in indusial areas but also in research and technical fields. This all is due their normal approach, accurate results and the possibility of their performance in some critical conditions like the molten steel state, metal vapors and the magnetizing processes etc. This report puts an objection on the accuracy of such measurements due to the effect of operating conditions which allow the presence of electric and magnetic fields and sometimes the stress also. The main objective of this research work is to explain how there is alteration of temperature-emf relations which affect the corresponding measurements. Hence this paper informs to take into account the effect of electric field, magnetic field and stress in the operating conditions of thermocouples which alters the temperature-emf relations in the high temperature range of 300K to 600K.

Abstract: Oil spill have become a global problem particularly in industrialized and developing countries. Crude oil contamination of the environment is a world-wide threat to environment sustainability and hence a global concern. For this we need to go for the natural solution, i.e. Bioremediation. Organisms were isolated from oil contaminated places i.e. Arabian sea (gateway of India), Gorai creek, Petrol pump, Synthetic soil sample. These isolates were screened using Bushnell Hass agar medium in which diesel oil was used as sole carbon source. The percentage degradation of hydrocarbons estimated using Gravimetric analysis. Time lag and growth pattern of isolates were checked by taking optical density at 530 nm and determining pH at different intervals. 9 different isolates were obtained. The graph of bacterial degradation of oil and the growth curve of isolates was plotted. The bacterial identification was done by performing suitable biochemical test compared with Bergeys Manual. Taxonomic characteristics of these isolates identified them as Bacillus spp., Clostridium spp., Vibrio spp. , Pseudomonas spp. These isolates can be used for degradation of toxic compounds spread during oil spill, land farming, to determine benzene toxicity.

Abstract: In this paper, we have proposed a single server retrial queueing system with balking. At the arrival time, if the server is busy then the arriving job joins the orbit or balks the system. On the other hand, if the server is free then the service of arriving job gets started immediately. The primary and repeating customers follow Poisson distribution. Service times are exponentially distributed. Solving the difference - differential equations recursively, the time dependent probabilities of exact number of arrivals and exact number of departures at when the server is free or when the server is busy from the system are obtained. Some interesting system performance measures are also obtained. The effect of various parameters on our model are illustrated numerically and presented graphically.

Abstract: Forecasting areas prone to flooding will allow us to send off our information gathered to departments such as TxDOT and the United States Department of Transportation. This would then enable these departments to create appropriate evacuation routes, depicting which roads are clear and which cannot be used in the event of a storm. Simulating hurricanes that have passed through this area such as Dolly in 2008, Beulah in 1967, and Bret in 1999 will display the roads and federal highways that frequently tend to get flooded. Identifying the “danger roads” and which federal highways will ultimately be useful for various engineering purposes, such as show the information produced. Since roads act as not only a means for transportation, but a very important drainage system as well. In the Willacy County and Cameron County, there is about 14 major highways (four of them which are US highways). A research study is being proposed over the course of the year that would project the overflow of storm surge onto USDOT and TXDOT major highways. The project entailment is to simulate about 3 historical hurricanes that have passed through the Laguna Madre and focusing on about five of the nearest highways along the coast. This would give the project outcome of receiving the adequate information to identify how much of each highway would get flooded from each Hurricane, as well as the duration of the surge submerging the areas of each specific highway.

Abstract: The mother tongue is the expression of identity of an individual as well as of individual’s primary group identity. For the beginner, becoming aware of anything unknown, or to find out the meaning of everything alien, almost automatically involves connecting the concepts with the mother tongue–where control and confidence is better and get increasingly well-established, so much so that even after mastering L2 and other languages in mature years, at moments of problem and difficulty, the mind automatically takes recourse to mother tongue to resolve the problem. The non-use or non-development of the mother tongue, conversely, produce serious constrains for what can be listened, said, read or written. Alongside bilingual or multilingual education, encouraging education in the mother tongue is one of the principles set out by UNESCO. Children with a sound knowledge of their first language comfortably transfer skills from one language to another. The mother tongue opens the door, including its own grammar, to all grammars, in which it awakens the potential for universal grammar that lies within all of us. The present paper intends to make an estimate of the need and necessity of using Mother Tongue as the Medium of Instruction in the primary level.
