Abstract: Training is critical to the achievement of competitive advantage. Since training has many positive outcomes which are beneficial to the success of the organization, it is important that training be effective. Training is considered to be effective when it achieves the objectives it intended to achieve and when the consequences of training are in alignment to the achievement of the organisational goals. In this context, it is important that the effectiveness of training is measured. This paper intends to discuss the importance of the measurement of training effectiveness and the different approaches employed in measuring it. This is done with the help of a systematic review of literature. A number of important articles on the topic were identified and the relevant theory is analyzed here.

Abstract: The Centre is working on adopting the land-pooling methodology as an alternative mechanism for development and expansion of airports. Most of the airports are in congested parts of the city now that there is no scope for growth. data shows that many of the airports will reach saturation even after being expanded for lack of land availability[1]This thesis is focus on various land development model for expansion and uniform development, through land acquisition and land pooling to suggest land development policy for Airport development.

Abstract: This study empirically investigated the impact of IFRS adoption and financial performance indicators of quoted conglomerates in Nigeria with specific focus on pre-IFRS (2007 to 2011) and Post –IFRS adoption (2012 to 2018). The key performance indicators considered include price earnings ratio, liquidity, leverage and growth in revenue .The study adopted the T-statistics to test the research hypothesis. Findings presented in the above section clearly revealed that price earnings ratio (PER), liquidity (LIQ) and leverage (LEV) showed an increase indicating that IFRS adoption has had a positive impact of the performance of firms among the conglomerate sector of the economy. However, the Paired t-test showed that that the difference in mean values for all variables were statistically insignificant. Hence, we conclude that, even with the adoption of IFRS, the consumer sector performance still did not change. Hence, there is need for regulators to ensure that local policies are introduce to encourage or stimulates the economy further to enable better performance on the part of the firms. Again, management need to consider growth strategy that will result in the improvement in return on invested capital overtime. Lastly, management should consider adopting policy to improve liquidity position especially in the face of rising debt ratio as observed in the leverage variable.

Abstract: Universally, maternal healthcare system is an important segment of medical system in any society; this is as a result of the importance of mothers in the overall sustenance of human society. Despite the significance of maternal health care, however, there is an increasing gap between the developed countries and the developing countries in terms of levels of morbidity and mortality and mothers’ survival at prenatal, delivery and postnatal periods. Across the globe, millions of women suffer from poor reproductive health and serious pregnancy related illnesses and disability and yearly the rate at which women die from complications of pregnancy and childbirth is alarming.  Most of the deaths occur in Asia, but the risk of dying is highest in African countries. Patriarchal practices can be viewed as one of the leading reasons for the poor maternal health situation in Nigeria. Many have observed that traditional African culture has not been fair to women. Gender as entrenched in Cultural dictates, shapes behaviours; one’s environment affects her reproductive attitudes, perceptions and motivations. The use and non-use of health services are determined by one’s socio-cultural environment, which, in most cases, is shaped by its patriarchal structure. This paper attempts a theoretical analysis to explain  maternal health-seeking behaviour in typical African rural community with the aim of closing the gap in knowledge and understanding of maternal health. As a means of methodology, related existing literatures were sourced to facilitate this review. The review shows that gender and patriarchy like the two sides of a coin, though different but inseparable to a large extent, determines the actions and inactions of women of child bearing age as regards their health seeking.  Conclusively, the paper suggests that policy makers and maternal health advocates should embark on policies and advocacies that will enhance the new normal of discouraging the harmful traditional gender and patriarchal practices that could hinder healthy maternal health seeking.

Title: Theoretical Analysis of Maternal Health Seeking Behaviour in a Typical African Rural Community

Abstract: Teaching patients is part of the nursing profession and the objective of the European nursing degree education reforms in the early 2000s. Still, during their internship, student nurses are exposed to a diversity of curricula, different teachers, learning goals and teaching methods. The aim of the paper is to explore, how the Estonian student nurses have adopted the (patient)teaching paradigm. A qualitative study applied a hermeneutic approach. Thematic written interviews accompanied by a drawing task were collected from student nurses returning to school from their final internship. Data was analyzed using a content analysis. Analysis of the written answers and drawings show that the curriculum has been the main factor in the learning process in internalizing the new teaching paradigm. The internship, which challenged the students’ conceptions about teaching and the meanings that arose, was viewed in relation to motivator-hygiene theory. The success of the learning process seems to have required a ‘learning by doing’ teaching experience based on the new curriculum, to which each learner added the holistic context of individual intellectual contributions. In the context of Estonian curriculum reform, the student nurses can initiate changes related to clinical teaching and motivate nurse practitioners towards their professional development.

Title: The Meaning of Teaching - in the Clinical Practice of Estonian Student Nurses: Hermeneutic Research

Abstract: Streams and wetlands are important sources of water for fish farming in Nnamdi  Azikiwe University, Awka (Unizik). Therefore, this study assessed the levels of some physicochemical parameters of water quality of the stream and wetland of Unizik using six different sampling stations. The water samples analyzed for physicochemical parameters: dissolved oxygen (mg/L), Conductivity (µS/cm), total dissolved solid (mg/l), pH, Temperature ^oC, Cadmium (mg/l), Copper (mg/l), Iron (mg/l), Lead (mg/l) and Zinc (mg/l) using standard methods. The results were compared with the standard values set by the World Health Organization (WHO). The results showed that the physicochemical concentrations of water samples from the streams and wetland were in the range of: dissolved oxygen, 5.23 ± 2.8 to 11.24 ± 0.23(mg/l); conductivity,  37.67 ± 0.58  to 183.67±2.08(µs/cm); pH, 8.21±0.22 to 10.07±1.7; temperature, 28.93±0.47 to 33.97±3.109^oC.; Total dissolved solid, 20±0.00-130±2.3; Cadmium, 0.11±0.06 to 0.22±0.02(mg/l); Copper, 2.50±0.71 to 16.60±0.28(mg/l); Iron, 0.00±0.00 to 1.40±0.14(mg/l); Lead, 0.00±0.00 to 1.20±0.12(mg/l), and Zinc, 6.00±0.28 to 8.60±0.85(mg/l).  This study revealed that most of the physicochemical parameter of the streams and wetland in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka were found to be within the recommended limits of WHO while the heavy metals: cadmium, copper, iron, lead and zinc have levels higher than the maximum limits. Therefore, the stream and wetland in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka may be suitable for aquaculture if properly treated for to reduce these heavy metals. Further studies and constant monitoring should be conducted on the Unizik streams and wetland and on the fish cultured with these waters.

Abstract: This paper uses the fractional Bernstein theorem to prove the fractional Weierstrass’s approximation theorem. And hence, we obtain that the set of fractional functions is dense in the set of continuous functions on a closed interval. The fractional Bernstein polynomial plays an important role in this article, which is the generalization of classical Bernstein polynomial.

Abstract: This study examined changes and challenges involved in changing organisational culture in colleges of education in Western and Central Regions of Ghana.  The target population consisted of all teacher trainees and tutors of one Faith-Based Mixed College of Education (FBMCOE), one State-Owned Mixed College of Education (SOMCOE) and one Faith-Based Single Sex College of Education (FBSSCOE). The accessible population was made up of first and second year students of the three colleges of education and their respective tutors. The main research instrument used in gathering data was the questionnaire. Open and closed ended questions were used. There was one main set of questions for both students and tutors. The conduct of the research was guided by four research questions. The statistical tools used for the analysis were frequency and percentage distributions. The study revealed three things; both students and tutors preferred some practices to be changed; both students and tutors identified some existing practices in the Colleges to be maintained; some new practices were recommended to be adopted.

Abstract: Solanum americanum, known as glossy nightshade is an herbaceous plant that perform well in most soil type in most part of Africa and Asia. There is less information in Nigeria on its fertility requirements for optimum growth and yield. A field experiment was conducted to determine the effect of different levels of urea (0, 50, 100, and 150 Kg/ha) and compost (0, 5, 10 and 15 t/ha) on the growth and yield of Solanum americanum. The experiment was carried out during mid-November, 2020 to late May 2021 at Federal Polytechnic Bali, Taraba state, Nigeria research farm. Treatments plots were laid out in a completely randomized block design and replicated four times. Data collected at two week interval were number of leaves, plant height, number of branches and stem girth. Leave yield was measured after harvesting. Data collected on the growth and yields were subjected to analysis of variance (ANOVA). Significant treatment means were separated using Tukey test at P<0.05. The results showed that the applications of urea and compost significantly (p<0.05) influenced all growth parameters and yield of Solanum americanum. The highest rates of compost (15 t/ha) and urea (150 Kg/ha) significantly increased the growth parameters and yield when compared to the control and have the highest mean values for all the parameters measured. The use of urea and compost is therefore essential in increasing the yield. Therefore compost and urea is recommended.

Abstract: A few copper complexes  with N,N'-(6-methyl-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyl)bis(3-oxobutanamide) (L¹) and N,N'-(6-phenyl-1,3,5-triazine-2,4-diyl)bis(3-oxobutanamide) (L²) have been reported in this paper. The electronic, IR, ¹H NMR, Powder X ray diffraction, ESR spectral data indicate that Cu(II) complexes show coordination number six with ligands  (L¹) and (L²) with involvement of one water molecule coordinated to Cu(II) metal ion and this was confirmed by means of the analysed Cu(II) complexes which were studied spectrally and thermally. For the spectrophotometric analysis of Cu(II), a novel form of compound called copper(II) complexes containing L¹ as well as L² has been produced at different temperatures i.e, 25⁰C, 30⁰C, 35⁰C, 40⁰C, 45⁰C, and 50⁰C,. The stability constants values were found to decline with increasing temperature. Gibb's free energy change (ΔG), change in entropy (ΔS), and change in enthalpy (ΔH) are thermodynamic variables were studied. It has been found that the formations of metal complexes are random and exothermic in nature.

Abstract: Presently, lockdown and unpredictable spreading of infection has caused anxiety, distress, hysteria, fear, and other psychological responses among people. In long terms one may experience feelings of apathy, insomnia, unusual appetite, fretfulness, irritability and weight loss or gain. Studies have showed that these symptoms are often associated with feeling deeply sad and emotional unhealthiness. Recent data also indicated that with positive mindset and understandings, these losses can be minimized at different levels. In this article we have discussed about the remedy to cure our emotional health that has greatly damaged in this period. As the same has direct relation with our physical health, mental health and other areas of life. Here, recent research and analysis with simple tips to keep self calm, happy and kind and fit have been discussed. Researchers have found that taking proper diet, sleep, exercise, love-bonding, care and feelings to help each other are basic medicines to cure emotional health. Scientifically the same has also been reported to increase immunity power and power to fight against any infection. So, in conclusion, we need to give special attention to ours and others emotional health to decrease the adverse impacts of pandemic and related issues.

Abstract: Procrastination became a challenge, often detrimental to a person’s ability to pursue their goals when the required jobs are frequently delayed for various reasons. it is a common occurrence, but it can also be harmful as it is one of the main barrier, blocking an individual’s ability. The question that pertains is personality traits which is aiding procrastination. With this objective the present study aims to understand the relationship of Personality traits with Procrastination and also to explore personality profiling of High procrastinators. Revised NEO PI inventory and irrational procrastination scale were administered on 308 (M = 22.78, SD = 2.86) participants in India. The analysis shows the Mean score of 16.53(SD,2.37) among Low Procrastinators and mean of 22.98(SD,2.78) among high Procrastinators. The correlation analysis of big five personality factors with Irrational Procrastination shows Neuroticism (r =.48, p<.01), Extraversion (r = -.20, p<.01), Openness (r = -.15,), Agreeableness (r =-.12, p<.05), and Conscientiousness (r = -.36, p<.01). Neuroticism shows positively and conscientiousness shows negatively correlated with procrastination.  The present study also shows the personality profiling of the high Procrastinators. As per the NEOPI-R profile the high Procrastinators are high in Neuroticism, average in Extraversion and Openness and low level of Agreeableness and Conscientiousness. At the facets level Depression, Vulnerability and Aesthetics are high and Fantasy, Feelings, values, Straightforwardness, Modesty, Competence and Dutifulness are low among high Procrastinators.
