Abstract: This paper describes the approach taken to create a new assisted propulsion technology for commercial shipping, giving preliminary indications of the benefits achievable. The wind power technology described is the Rotor sails which are essentially the improved version of the Flettner rotors, with full automation. Although the basic principle of Flettner-rotors has been known for a long time, this is the first time that a rotor has been retrofitted on to a ship and made commercially available. This unique type of powered sail has attracted more recent interest for its potential to reduce fuel consumption on ships. Wind is a renewable energy source that is freely available on the world’s oceans. As shipping faces the challenge of reducing its dependence on fossil fuels and cutting its carbon emissions this technology explores the potential for harnessing wind power for shipping. Consideration has been given to some of the practical limitations of retrofitting Flettner rotors to a ship, and some of the negative side effects that have been incorporated into the study. An attempt is also made to give a balanced and conservative assessment of the potential benefits.

Abstract: Single crystals of Cobalt Mercury Thiocyanate belonging to Semiorganic material with nonlinear optical properties have been grown in silica gel medium using gel growth technique. The grown Cobalt Mercury Thiocyanate were subjected to single crystal X-ray diffraction (SXRD) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) to elucidate their lattice parameters and functional group confirmation. The dielectric studies at different temperatures and frequency applied are measured and their behavior is analyzed. The crystal exhibit second harmonic generation which was confirmed by the important Kurtz powder test. The crystals are thermally stable up to 280°C, which was analyzed by thermogravimetric and differential scanning Calorimetric analysis.

Abstract: This study aimed to evaluate the anticancer activity of bioinspired silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) and gold nanoparticles (Au-NPs) againstMCF-7 cells. Both Ag-NPs and Au-NPs were biologically synthesised using pteridophytes. In this work, synthesis of nanoparticles, characterisation and potential anticancer activity has been reported. Marsilea belongs to pteridophyte division can reduce HAuCl4 solution to Au-NPs and AgNO3to Ag-NPs due to the presence of secondary biological metabolites. Phytochemical examination reveals the presence of tannins, phenols, coumarins, flavonoids, anthro-quinones, terpenoids, saponins. These phytochemicals are responsible for the transformation and act as capping, reducing and stabilising agents. Formation of-NPs and Au-NPs were ascertained from UV-vis spectrometry, FTIR and XRD. The UV-visible study revealed the surface plasmon resonance. FTIR spectra confirmed the participation of functional groups.  XRD reveals the peak positions and broadening, which indicates the size of particles. In both case sharped sharp peak was observed at 38° among 2θ values, the size distributions of Ag-NPs and Au-NPs were calculated by using Scherrer’s formula. The cytotoxic potential of both SNPs was assayed against MCF-7 cells (breast cancer cell line) and HEK293 cell (human embryonic kidney cell line) by MTT assay. Results suggested that the NPs from Marsilea inhibits explicitly the viability of cancerous cell only and are non-cytotoxic to HEK293 cells in the tested concentration range. Based on these descriptions we can speculate that synthesised NPs may be used as promising anticancer agents, as the inhibits the viability of human breast cancer (MCF-7) cells and not detrimental to standard cell line.

Abstract: This paper design and simulation of 1Kb memory using memory bank technique. To get required frequency of operation efficient peripherals has to be designed, since the memory core exchanges performance and reliability for diminished area, memory plan depends exceedingly on the peripheral hardware to recuperate both speed and electrical integrity.. In this section we discuss the row decoders, word line drivers, pre-charge circuit, column multiplexers/Decoders, Sense amplifiers and write drivers [14]. Figure1 shows the monolithic peripheral circuitry of 1Kb SRAM Based memory. Generally for Smaller memory designs monolithic architectures are preferred, but in the Design of bigger memories monolithic architecture will not give efficient performance. The frequency of operation of the circuit is reduced by a factor of two as the number of rows doubles. Similarly the frequency of memory, reduced by a factor of four as the number of columns doubles, hence in bigger memory designs memory portioning technique is used which is known as memory banking.

Abstract: Leadership is one of the inevitable characteristics of every normal human being. Hence, every one of us plays leadership role in one way or the other in our dealings in life. Therefore, in the exhibition of our leadership roles, we make use of one type of leadership style or the other, which navigates us, and which its ends result is either prone to success or failure. However, this study examines the implications of leadership style in school administration system. A descriptive survey type with structured questionnaire used to gather facts from 500 respondents who are the teachers at various schools in Oye-Ekit, Ekiti State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that, leadership style plays essential roles in the school administration system and the recommendations were made accordingly.

Abstract: A faunistic survey of mites was conducted in many stored food product stores during research work from March 2014 to February 2017 in Punjab. A total of 3240 samples of 12 stored foods i.e. Almond, Black gram, Cheese, Dalia, Maida, Maize flour, Moong Dal, Rice, Suji, Walnut, Wheat and White gram were collected and examined for the mite fauna exploration. Thirty samples (each of 25 grams) of each stored food were collected per season, i.e. Summer i.e. CCL1 (March-June), Rainy i.e. CCL2 (July-October) and Winter i.e. CCL3 (November- February). A total of 1220 (37.65 %) samples out of 3240 samples, were mite positive. A total of 30 mite species belonging to 3 orders, 12 families and 21 genera were reported. A total of 14812 mite specimens were obtained. The mite species Acarus siro (Linnaeus, 1758) was reported in samples of 11 stored food types. A total of 207 samples (16.97 %) out of the 1220 mite positive samples were positive for Acarus siro specimens. A total of 2969 (20.04 %) specimens of Acarus siro out of the total 14812 mite specimens were obtained.

Abstract: Mites are ubiquitous in distribution and are reported to be present almost in all the habitats. A great number of stored grains, dried fruits, various farinaceous products and stored foods are often attacked by various types of mites. A faunistic survey of mites was conducted in many stored food stores during research work from December 2014 to November 2017 in Kashmir (India). A total of 2400 samples of ten stored foods i.e. almonds (Prunus dulcis), dry coconut (Cocos nucifera), groundnuts (Arachis hypogaea), maize (Zea mays), mustard (Brassica juncea), rice (Oryza sativa), walnuts (Juglans regia), wheat (Triticum aestivum), wheat flour (Triticum aestivum) and white gram (Cicer arietinum) were collected and examined for the mite fauna exploration. Twenty samples (each of 25 grams) of each stored food were collected per season, i.e. Winter (December to February), Spring (March to April), Summer (May to August) and Autumn (September to November). A total of 439 samples (18.29%) were mite positive. A total of nineteen mite species belonging to three orders, eleven families and fourteen genera were reported. A total of 5746 mite specimens were obtained. The mite species Acarus siro (Linnaeus, 1758) was reported in samples of 5 (50%) stored food types. A total of 58 samples (13.1%) out of the 439 mite positive samples were positive for Acarus siro specimens. A total of 974 (16.95%) specimens of Acarus siro were obtained out of the total 5746 mite specimens. Acarus siro was the second most frequent and abundant species found in stored foods after the Tyrophagus putrescentiae Schrank.

Abstract: Organic farming is a method of production of crop and livestock that involves a lot more than just choosing pesticides, fertilizers, antibiotics and growth of the crops and livestock. It is a method to sustain the productivity and fitness of the eco system and people. The main goal of organic farming is to assure sustainability and to protect the environment. Organic farming has a positive effect on the environment because of its control over soil degradation and erosion, controls pollution and maintains the fertility level of the soil by bio degradable waste, it also provides healthy livestock.

The main goal of organic farming is to assure sustainability and to protect the environment. Adoption of organic farming is gradually increasing and it is practiced in nearly 100 countries, with the area under organic practices continuously growing in India. The greatest impact of organic agriculture was the change in the mindset of the people.

Introducing organic farming concept to the students will change their perspective on it. It changes the student’s relationship with food, as they tend to see in a different way. Students lack the knowledge about food such as how they grow it, care for it, nurture it, and harvest it, where it comes from, and the benefits of growing and preparing Organic food. Learning about how food is produced at an early age will improve the student’s knowledge on the environment and ecosystem. Students will learn how to become responsible towards their food.

Thus the study is conducted to implement organic Farming in the curriculum of Autonomous Colleges so as to create a vision of Higher Education which educates and develops socially responsible students.

Abstract: The social dynamics in any society and its inner urge to rebuild itself is an ever increasing area of interest for academicians and social thinkers. Every free society is expressing itself and its social dynamics works for its actions and reasons. It is empowered with the process of reformation, revival and rebuilding. The term nonviolence indicates non-hurting or non-injuring behaviour while engaging with others; obviously, the ‘others’ include the nature and the universe at large. Mahatma Gandhi believed that the human society is gradually progressing towards a non-violent entity. Therefore, one needs to accelerate this process by consciously intervening and expanding the various facets of nonviolent actions. For Gandhi Nonviolence was a means to achieve the goal of truth. So he insisted the means should be as pure as the end and he argued “as the means; so the end.” This paper attempts to portray the historical aberration of non violence, Gandhian approaches to overcome and purifying the violent nature of humans by adopting his fundamental thoughts of satyagraha, swaraj and swadeshi.

Abstract: The Arunthathiyars are densely populated in the western districts of Tamil Nadu. They are the most discriminatednot only by the general public but even among the dalit community. In the urban area the community is mainly involved in conservancy work, and in the rural area majority of them are agricultural laborers. Considering their economic status and the kind of facilities provided in the government schools like the uniforms, books, midday meals and also free education, majority (83%) of the adolescents were enrolled in those schools. A detailed survey was conducted in the selected taluk of Coimbatore district and data was collected from 494 adolescents in the age group 11 – 19 years from six villages using a questionnaire. BMI (Body mass Index) was calculated with height and weight measurements to appraise the nutritional status of the selected sample. The statistical analysis found that 48 per cent were undernourished with BMI being significantly influenced by the type of school and not with age and gender.

Abstract: Investment in stocks is one of the most popular investment destinations and different investors follow different strategies while investing and there are lots of strategies depending upon the period of investment, risk taking capacity, amount of fund etc. Many empirical studies around the world show the evidence of abnormal change in the price and trading volume of the stocks included to or excluded from the index when the index composition changes. There are several explanations for these observed effects from the existing literature. Most of the current researches have examined possibility of abnormal profit by following the trading strategies around the announcement date and the date of effective change whiles the examination of price effect. In this paper I have examined that whether an investor will earn any abnormal profit or not in the long term by investing in included or excluded stocks by using event study methodology and found that investor can use the information of stock inclusion to earn excess return.

Managing the components of Current Assets properly will lead to a profitable business in this Modern age. With the appropriate and effective use of these four components any Retailers can develop his business properly and prosperously. It was argued  previously that Current Assets management system was useful for Large Organization and was considered as costliest management function , but the situation is changing and nowadays it becomes the Lifeline criteria for the Retailers. Brings more effectiveness in the business and Retailers may minimize their Inventories Holding Cost at very minimum level on one hand and on second hand they can satisfy their customers with varieties of goods also. Abstract: The ever increasing cost of conventional fossil fuels and their associated environmental impact have become major concerns worldwide. At global level, scientists warn that the combustion of fossil fuels is significantly changing the world’s climate system. In order to conserve the petroleum fuels for future and to eliminate the environmental problems there is need of alternative fuel. In order to overcome the draw backs of the fossil fuels it is the time to completely or partially replace this fuel. So an innovative idea to overcome these problems is the HHO gas. HHO gas is also known as brown gas produced from splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen from electrolysis and allowing the gas to stay in a premixed state for use on demand without the need of storage. In this paper, we have analysed the scope of hydrogen as a supplementary fuel, in 4-Stroke internal combustion gasoline engine. A hydrogen generation system for producing hydrogen and injecting the hydrogen as a fuel supplement into the air intake of carburetor. Hydrogen and oxygen is produced with a fuel cell at low temperature and pressure from water in a tank. The device is powered by vehicle battery. The system is modified such that power is permitted to electrolysis cell only when ignition switch is turned ON. The performance and emission characteristics of a conventional single cylinder spark ignition (SI) engine operated on gasoline and gasoline with hydrogen has been reported.

Abstract: 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2-(1H)-ones were synthesized in high yields through Biginelli condensation reactions of aldehydes, 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and urea or thiourea using Nickel (II) perchlorate as a catalyst under solvent-free conditions. Readily available reagent, inexpensive and eco-friendly catalyst. This method provides the modified synthesis of biologically active compounds such as much Nifedipine and Amlodipine, in terms of high yield, short reaction time and simple workup procedure.
