Abstract: The present investigation aims to findout the influences of isolated gut probiotic bacterial strain Bacillus oleronius on Physico Chemical parameters of Koi carp rearing water. 100 Koi carp  was introduced into control tank and Experimental tank. Fish in the control tank were fed only with supplementary fish feed without probiotics and the fish in the experimental tank were fed with isolated probiotic bacterial strain Bacillus oleronius  mixed with supplementary fish feed. The experiment was carried out for 75 days and the water was analyzed for its physico chemical parameters. Results of the present study reveal that the probiotics bacteria improved the water quality in fish rearing tank.

Abstract: Enzymatic acidolysis process was researched for the modification of sunflower oil by incorporation of CLnA (conjuge linolenic acid) isomers. Immobilized sn-1,3 specific lipase from Mucor miechei  was used to modify sunflower oil to produce a new fatty acid chain with improved physico-chemical and functional properties. The acidolysis reaction of sunflower oil with pomegranate and mahlab seed oil, which is rich in CLnA, was actualized in the conditions with 10% enzyme, at 55^oC, and in 1:1 substrate molar ratios. The incorporation ratio of CLnA into sunflower oil was established between 1.2% and 23.8% and so structured lipids were produced. Also, the antibacterial action of samples taken every 40 minutes from E. coli were researched. As a result, a strong antibacterial activity of CLnA extracted from structured sunflower oil was detected.

Abstract: The fatty acid profile of Onychocamptus mohammed (Blanchard and Richard 1891) from laboratory culture and the wild species from the habitat was ascertained using gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and compared. The fatty acids detected in this experiment have the carbon number ranging between C_14-25. The wild sample showed the presence of 24 fatty acids in which the  highest percentage was shown by nonadecanoic acid, methyl ester (2.25 ± 0.27%) and the lowest was shown by 15-tetracosenoic acid, methyl ester, (Z)- (0.04 ± 0.01 %); tetracosanoic acid, methyl ester (0.04 ± 0.02 %) and 5,8,11,14,17-eicosapentaenoic acid, methyl ester, (all-Z)- (0.04 ± 0.05 %). In cultured sample, 26 fatty acids were present and the highest percentage was shown by methyl hexadec-9-enoate (2.21 ± 0.03 %) and the least percentage was shown by heptadecanoic acid, methyl ester (0.05 ± 0.02 %) and heptadecanoic acid,16-methyl-, methyl ester (0.05 ± 0.01 %). The essential fatty acids such as docosahexaenoic acid (1.34 ± 0.19 %) and eicosapentaenoic acid (1.85 ± 0.01 %) were present in desired quantities in cultured sample and this ensures that the harpacticoid copepod, O. mohammed can serve as a live feed for developing shell fish and fin fish larvae.

Abstract: In last few decades ever increasing population and unplanned urbanization have posed serious problems of sewage disposal and contamination of surface waters like lakes, reservoirs, dams, rivers etc. Most of these water resources also get contaminated due to weathering of rocks, leaching of soils etc as natural phenomena, ultimately causing nutrient enrichment in these surface water resources. Land use changes and the increase use of fertilizers in modern agricultural practices with subsequent leaching to watercourses, rivers and lakes, has further increased the risk of eutrophication and loss of biodiversity, finally deterioration in water quality (Pani, 2017).Therefore there has been a growing need for regular water quality assessment to understand the existing status of the water body so as to adopt necessary mitigative and conservation measures for abatement of pollution. Water quality can be assessed by various parameters such as BOD, temperature, electrical conductivity, nitrate, phosphorus, potassium, dissolved oxygen, etc. along with heavy metals such as Pb, Cr, Fe, Hg, etc. which are of special concern because they produce water or chronic poisoning in aquatic animals. Harmful algal blooms are becoming increasingly common in freshwater ecosystems globally. Pollution by plastic debris is an increasing environmental concern in water bodies, where it affects open-water, shoreline and benthic environments (Bhateria and Jain, 2016). Hence keeping this in mind the water quality of Kaliasote Dam which is one of the important Dams of Bhopal was analyzed during the period 2015-2017 to understand the present status of water quality with reference to nutrient enrichment from both the autochthonous and allochthonous sources. The results of various parameters indicate that the water of the dam is moderately polluted and can be used only for domestic and irrigation purposes after treatment as per standard prescribed by CPCB.

Abstract: Trees outside forests (TOF) in India, mainly growing on private land are the main source of wood in the country for industry and domestic wood fuel. These tree help in carbon sequestration and decrease adverse impact of green house gas emission and the consequent climate change. History has been witness that civilizations are born and develop only close to natural resources, particularly rivers and forests.  The balance in nature is maintained by protecting these very resources. 

The present study was undertaken to assess actual figure of trees outside forests near tourist spots in Rajgarh district of Madhya Pradesh. Different trees outside forest i.e. Mangifera indica, Acacia nilotica, Syzygium cumini, Azadirachta indica, Aegle marmelos, Prosopis cineraria, Cascabela thevetia, Ficus religiosa and Ficus benghalensis etc. were found to be planted at various tourist spots. These trees provide fresh oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide and decrease CO₂ of the area.

Abstract: Physiological functions of animals get disturbed on exposure to pollution stress. The better understanding of this mechanism can help us to predict the harmful effects of various chemicals on environment. This study estimates the chronic effect of this compound on biochemical compositions. The sublethal concentration of Bisphenol A treated with Oreochromis mossambicus at different time interval and observed that in the liver, kidney, brain and muscle showed declined trend. The decrease in biochemical contents in toxicated fish in the present study also indicates the physiological adaptability of the fish to compensate for compound.

Abstract: The isolation of stably transfected cell lines suitable for the manufacturing of biotherapeutic protein products such as monoclonal antibodies, is a challenging process and depends on the identification of high expressing clone. This phenomenon involves transgene amplification and maintenance of the expressing clones over numerous generations. Maintenance of cell line and stable protein expression is always depending on the nature of genomic environment at the site of transgene integration. Epigenetic mechanism leads to variable expression and silencing of the transgene. One of the major limitation of introduction of foreign gene into chromosome is, their expression appears to vary with chromosomal site of integration. There are certain elements present in the genomic environment called as chromatin function modifying elements. These elements have ability to negate chromatin insertion site position effect and to express and maintain the stable monoclonal antibody expression in mammalian host. Upon stable cell line generation, chromosomal integration site of the vector DNA has major impact on transgene expression. Here in the current article, different genome integration elements such as Ubiquitous chromatin opening elements (UCOE), stabilizing anti repressor elements (STAR), Chicken hypersensitive site 4 (cHS4), CCCTC binding factor (CCTF), Scaffold \Matrix Attachment Region (S\MAR) are considered.

Abstract: Present study is undertaken to study the bilateral variations in the Anatomy of foot. The study is conducted on 400 young Haryanvi males belonging to age group 5.00 – 20.99 years, residing in Haryana region. The foot index is derived from foot length and foot width dimensions of male subjects and quantitatively analyzed to assess bilateral asymmetry. The sample size for present study is comprised of a total of 400 male subjects divided into eight age groups, i.e. i) (5.00-6.99 years), ii) (7.00- 8.99 years), iii) (9.00-10.99 years), iv) (11.00-12.99 years) v) (13.00- 14.99) vi) 15.00-16.99 vii) 17.00- 18.99 viii) 19.00-20.99. Foot length and foot breadth of the male subjects is measured using standard anthropometric techniques. Foot length is measured using measuring steel tape and sliding caliper is used for measuring the foot width. Relative index of asymmetry (RIA) i.e. Percentage distribution of asymmetry in the different parts of body is calculated of foot length, foot breadth and foot index dimensions. Applying Student’s t-test reveals statistically highly significant bilateral asymmetry in foot length of all the age groups whereas bilateral asymmetry for foot breadth is not significant for one group i.e. 7.00-8.99 years. Most statistically significant value for foot breadth is 4.11*** is found in the age group i.e. 19.00-20.99 years followed by age group 13.00-14.99 years with the value 3.35**. Most statistically significant value i.e. 11.59*** among all the age groups is found for foot length and is present in the age group 13.00-14.99 years. Least significant value for foot length is 3.66* and foot breadth is 1.99* found in age group 5.00-6.99 and 15.00-16.99 respectively.

Abstract: The study was conducted to examines some characteristics of fishermen in Dundaye flood plain, Sokoto, Nigeria. Biodiversity of fisheries of DundayeFadama, Sokoto state. Frequency tables. Forty respondents were interviewed. Result, revealed that the main age of fishermen were 40%, while thier sexes and religion were 100% male and Muslim respectively. 85% of fishermen only attended quoranic education engaged in the business full time and 20% part time, engaging in additional activities to augment their income. Major problem encountered by the fishermen is lack of Information and sufficient capital to successfully carry out their fishing activities for maximum yield.

Abstract: The present study aims to find out the Influences of Commercial Probiotics Lact Act on Physico chemical parameters of gold fish culturing water. Probiotic bacteria used as feed additives seem to offer an attractive choice including health benefits to the host organism. The gold fish in the control tub was fed with prepared supplementary diet without commercial probiotics and the fish in the experimental tub was fed with supplementary diet mixed with commercial probiotics Lact Act. The experiment was carried out for 30 days and the physico chemical parameters of gold fish culturing water was recorded on 15^th and 30^th day of the experimental period. Results shows that commercial probiotics Lact -Act improves the water quality.

Abstract: Height and weight measurements are important factors relating to growth and development and nutritional status of children and adolescents. The young age period is nutritionally significant because this is the prime time to build.

Aims and Objectives: The prime objective of the present study is to estimate and compare the height, weight, body mass index (BMI) and nutritional status among Haryanvi males and females of 5.00- 20.99 years of age.

Subjects: This study is carried out on a total of 800 subjects i.e. 400 males and 400 females of age ranging from 5.00-20.99 years. Subjects are further subdivided into eight age groups ranging from 5.00-20.99 years.

Methods: Height and weight of the subjects is measured using standard anthropometric techniques given by Lohman et al 1988. BMI is computed for each individual. Further subjects are categorized under Normal, underweight and overweight according to International Classification of underweight, overweight and obesity according to body mass index (BMI) given by WHO(2002).

Results: It is found that females are lacking far behind in weight and height as compare to males.All the females from the age group 5.00-6.99 years categories underweight and severe thin (100%) whereas overweight females are present only in 19.00-20.99 age group i.e. 34% in pre-obese category. Results indicate only 2% of males from age group 17.00-18.99 years lie under the underweight category followed by the 32% subjects of the age group 5.00-6.99 years. Among all the age groups male subjects predominantly belong to either normal or overweight category.

Conclusion: Improper dietary habits and unawareness of balanced diet in young growing males and females leads to the various related metabolic syndromes. This suggests that there is need for nutrition and health awareness among the Haryanvi parents and their children.

Abstract: Okra Leaf Curl Virus (OLV) disease is considered the most important disease of Okra in the Sudan. Two field experiments were conducted in Shambat (Northern Khartoum - Sudan) for the control of this disease by the exclusion of Whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) Vector. In one experiment the okra. Seedlings were covered with the mosquito nets for 40 days before transplanting and in the other experiment the okra seedlings were drenched with the systemic Actara insecticide (25% WG) for seven weeks after transplanting at weekly intervals. The covered technique resulted in 50% OLCV disease incidence while the drenching trial resulted in 55% disease incidence. The control (untreated) resulted in 75% disease incidence. Similarly the disease severity was higher than that obtained from the untreated control. The yield of previously covered and drenched treatments resulted in 6.53 tan/ha and 5.89 ton/ha respectively. The control treatment resulted in 3.56 tan/ha. Moreover, good quality okra pods were obtained from the treated treatments. The results of the present work are considered the first record for controlling OLCV disease in okra in the Sudan.

Abstract: Radish ((Raphunus sativa), Coriander (Coriandrum sativum), Mustard (Brassica juncea) and Spinach (Spinacea oleracea) plants were grown in earthen pots watered with aqueous solutions of 0.31(tap water), 5, and 10mgL^-1 fluoride (NaF). Inorganic F uptake and its influence on pigments like total chlorophyll (mg/g), carotenoids (µg/g) and antioxidants like catalase, peroxidase (unit/min/g) activity, free sugar, ascorbic acid and free amino acid content (mg/g) were estimated from the edible plant parts which were harvested after 60 days. The results show that the peroxidase acitivity, free amino acid content and F uptake was enhanced with increasing F exposure whereas catalase activity, total chlorophyll, carotenoids, ascorbic acid and free sugar content decreases with similar exposure. Peroxidase activity was maximum increased in mustard where overall F toxicity effect was found to be minimum. Overall observation of all the entities indicates that F induced stress influences the test plants species in order radish > coriander > spinach > mustard. The results indicate that plant species maximum tolerant to F toxicity shows maximum peroxidase activity.  Maximum increase in free amino acid content was observed in radish plant may be an adaptive reaction in plant cells to neutralize the damaging effects of reactive oxygen species (ROS) generated during F induced stress.

Abstract: Puntius sarana is a teleost fish commonly known as ‘Potis’ in Nanded region.The healthy fish specimens were purchased from the weekly market at Nanded, between April 2015 to March 2016. From market they were carried in iced box and immediately transported to the laboratory. The specimens after having brought to the laboratory were cut open to determine the sex and biochemical analysis i.e. fat and moisture content were carried out. The percentage of moisture in the muscles of Puntius sarana was found to fluctuate between 53.60% to 60.25 %. The percentage of moisture in liver was found to fluctuate between 53.10% to 57.94%. In ovaries the percentage of moisture content fluctuates between 53.00 % to 57.47%. The fat content in muscle was found to fluctuate between 1.60% to 2.39%. The fat content in liver was fluctuate between 3.07% to 4.10%. The fluctuation in the percentage of fat content in ovaries was varied from 1.70% to 3.77%. The result obtained in this study has provided detailed knowledge of moisture and fat content of the Puntius sarana fish.
