It is change-oriented, and a questioning phase and includes concepts like identity, role and dynamism. In this paper an attempt is made to study some Demographics Factors with Perception of Youth towards poverty aspect With Reference to Ahmedabad City.

Abstract: Telmisartan is a Cardiovascular drug used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, and diabetic kidney disease and belongs to the Angiotensin II receptor blocker. The drug absorption varies in different patients from the gut. Selected brands of Telmisartan IP 40 mg were procured from the market with the same label claim amount of drug for quality control test. Various quality control tests such as weight variation, friability, disintegration, dissolution and uniformity content were performed as per Indian Pharmacopeia. The quality control tests were done for five different brands of Telmisartan IP marketed Products. The result proved that the Telmisartan IP 40 mg, varies with disintegration, dissolution, uniformity content tests but within the limit. Further studies are needed to support the variation in the quality control test with human volunteers.

Abstract: In 1998 a laophontid harpacticoid copepod Onychocamptus bengalensis was recorded for the first time in the plankton collections of Adyar Estuary, India. This species is redescribed for the first time with the aid of scanning electron microscopy and is compared with the existing descriptions. It is distinct from other species of the same genus by having leg 5 with exopod fused to baseoendopod.

Abstract: The study was conducted to determine the effects of varying levels of Gmelina arborea bark supplementation with Afzelia Africana leaves on carcass characteristic of goats. Twenty five (25) bucks with body weight of 18.25-19.00 kg, were used for the study. The bucks were weighed and divided into five (5) groups. Each group of five (5) bucks were randomly assigned to one of the 5 treatments in a completely randomized design (CRD). Fresh Afzelia Africana leaves was fed as basal diet. The basal diet was fed ad libitum, while Gmelina bark was fed as supplement at the levels of 0, 100, 150,200 and 250 g/head/day for T1 (control), T2, T3, T4 and T5, respectively.  Clean drinking water and mineral salt lick were provided ad libitum throughout the experimental period. Data were collected on carcass characteristic, offals and organs weight. Significantly (P<0.05) different were observed among treatments groups on carcass measurement. The result of the offals and organ weights also differ significantly (P<0.05) between treatments except head, skin and omasum which did not differ significantly (P>0.05) among the treatments. Treatment 3, 4 and 5 recorded the highest fasting weight, slaughter weight, dresses weight, weight of neck and hind limb while T1, T2 T3 recorded the highest dressing percentage. T4 and T5 recorded the highest loin and fore limb weight while T1 and T2 recorded the lowest. Treatments T4 and T5 recorded the highest abdominal fat while T3, T4 and T5 recorded the highest weight of liver, heart and spleen. Treatment (3) recorded the lowest weight of abomasum.

Title: EFFECTS OF VARYING LEVELS OF GMELINA ARBOREA BARK SUPPLEMENTED WITH AFZELIA AFRICANA LEAVES ON CARCASS CHARCTERISTIC OF GOATS

Abstract: Members of the plant genus Morus are widely used traditionally in Asia to treat depression, Morus mesozygia is the only member of the genus native to Africa. The study was carried out to evaluate the antidepressant-like activity of Ethanolic Extract of Morus Mesozygia Leaves (EEMM) in mice subjected to chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS). Materials and Methods: Male Swiss mice were randomly assigned to 6 different experimental groups and treated groups were given EEMM (2.5, 5 or 10 mg/kg, i.p) 30 minutes before exposure to different mild stressors in the CUMS paradigm for 14 days. They were then subjected to Sucrose Preference Test (SPT) and Forced Swim Test (FST). At the end of the behavioral studies, the levels of Nitrite, Malondialdehyde and Gluthathione in the homogenate of the brain tissues were determined spectrophotometrically. One-way ANOVA was used to statistically determine significant differences. Result: The results showed that EEMM at all doses significantly decreased immobility periods of stressed mice in the forced swim test without increasing the locomotor activity in open field test, and as well reversed the stress-induced anhedonia in the sucrose preference test. Biochemical analysis showed that EEMM significantly (p < 0.05) reduced the concentrations of Nitrite and MDA while the GSH level was elevated in the brains of mice exposed to CUMS. Conclusion: The findings provide significant evidences that EEMM has valid antidepressant-like activity, and might be useful in the management of stress-related disorders on account of its adaptogenic and neuroprotective effects as it prevents oxidative damage in brain tissues.

Title: Behavioral and Biochemical Evidences of Antidepressant Activity of Ethanolic Extract of Morus Mesozygia Leaves in Mice Subjected to Chronic Unpredictable Mild Stress

Abstract: In the mulberry silkworm, Bombyx mori L., the first developmental marker event, the egg hatching is the most important one for the beginning of successful commercial silkworm cocoon crop. Many external factors such as photoperiod, temperature, humidity etc., directly affect hatching in silkworm. Two popular silkworm hybrids, PM x CSR2 (multivoltine x bivoltine) and CSR2 x CSR4 (bivoltine x bivoltine) were selected for hatching studies. Three photoperiodic conditions, LD 12 : 12, DD and LL were adopted. In combination, three temperature (25, 30 and 35 °C) and three relative humidity conditions (RH, 60, 70 and 80%) were considered for the study. In total, data on hatching patterns, hatching percentage and other related aspects of 2 silkworm hybrids x 3 photoperiodic x 3 temperature x 3 humidity conditions x 5 replications (= 270 individual batches) were recorded and analyzed. Hatching was very distinct, confining to a single day, with PM x CSR2 under LD 12 : 12 condition. Peak hatching occurred at or immediately after ‘lights-on’, taking it as the synchronizing signal. Eggs of CSR2 x CSR4 hatched for two consecutive days, with stray hatching on day-1 and maximum hatching on day-2, indicating circadian control over hatching. Driven under continuous conditions (DD/LL), hatching occurred for 2 days. Hatching was low on the day-1 and high on day-2 under both DD and LL conditions. Further, hatching distribution broadened with decrease in amplitude, indicating ‘damp-out’ or ‘near damp-out’ situation, especially with CSR2 x CSR4 under LL. Thus, B. mori hatching rhythm was circadian, diurnal, taking lights-on as synchronizing signal and followed the ‘gating’ phenomenon.

Keeping ambiguity of presenting 54 chronograms of hatching (for 2 hybrids x 3 photoperiodic conditions x 3 temperature x 3 humidity conditions), data on hatching patterns were computed for circular variables like mean vector (mean f), length of mean vector (r) and angular standard deviation (s) using circular statistics. Mean vector indicated that hatching rhythmic patterns are not much affected by temperature and humidity conditions. However, r and s values varied significantly, indicating that height of peak hatching decreased and broadening of hatching increased under high temperature and low humidity conditions. Hatching percentage was more affected by high temperature and low humidity, decreasing hatching magnitude to below economical hatching. Similarly, high temperature and low humidity implicated in increased number of dead eggs. High temperature resulted in scorching and low humidity in desiccation of silkworm eggs. Results are discussed in terms of contemporary economic hatching in silkworm.

Abstract: The purpose of this research is mainly focused on the identification of perception on the proposed key elements or components of the wastewater technology management system that can be utilized by micro and small screen printing companies in order to manage the proper handling and disposal of wastewater generated during washing and cleaning of screens or the screen reclamation process. In order to attain the said purpose, survey was conducted to members of six (6) different screen printing organizations who served as either employees or belonged to top management of micro and small screen printing companies. Validated questionnaires were given to the respondents electronically and manually and follow-up interview was made to clarify certain aspects of the study. The key elements identified were focused on the technical and operational requirements of technology acquisition, adoption and innovation including the corresponding policies and guidelines, trainings and seminars pertaining to proper wastewater management compliance.

Abstract: Fishes are known as healthy food items; they are an excellent protein source that also delivers various minerals and vitamins necessary for good health. Scientists reported that societies with high fish intake have considerably lower rates of acute myocardial infarctions, other ischemic heart diseases and atherosclerosis. The present availability of protein is much below the minimum daily requirements and the livestock sector alone will not be able to meet the protein requirements of ever increasing human population. Fish is an excellent and relatively a cheaper protein source of high biological value. Therefore its use may help bridge the protein gap because of its multifarious economic advantages and nutritional significance. Fish proteins contain all the essential amino acids (not synthesized and need to be provided in the diet) in the required proportion and hence have a high nutritional value, which contribute to their high biological value. Cereal proteins are usually low in lysine and/or the sulphur-containing amino acids like methionine and cysteine, whereas fish protein is an excellent source of amino acids. In diet based mainly on serials a supplements based on fish therefore raise the biological value significantly. The chemical score or amino acid score of fish protein compares well with that of whole egg protein which is considered a standard protein source and slightly more than that of cow’s milk Similarly the protein efficiency ratio of fish proteins is 3.5 against that of egg protein (3.9), beef (2.3) and milk protein (2.5).Fish is also rich in the non-protein amino acid taurine, which has a unique role in neurotransmission. Evaluation of growth factors is the best way to judge the acceptability and suitability of artificial feed for fish hence the present investigation was carried out to study the influence of earthworm protein on freshwater fishes.

Title: INFLUENCE OF ANIMAL PROTEIN INGREDIENT ON GROWTH FACTORS OF TWO MAJOR CARPS, LABEO ROHITA AND CIRRHINUS MRIGALA

Abstract: The study was carried out to evaluate the effect of aqueous and oil extracts of jatropha (Jatropha curcas) seeds and argel (Solenostemma argel) leaves on egg-laying of the spiny bollworm (Erias insulana). The study was carried out under laboratory conditions (25-30°C and 60-70% Relative Humidity) at the Department of Crop Protection, University of Khartoum. One concentration of the aqueous and oil extracts of each plant was tested in this study viz. 10% (w/v). The potential effects of the aqueous and oil extracts of tested plants at various doses were investigated on egg-laying of the spiny bollworm. The insecticide emamectin benzoate (proclaim®) at a rate of 75 g/100L was used as standard. Control sets of treated (n-hexane) and untreated also were included. The results showed that no significant difference (P≥0.05) was detected in the mean number of eggs laid by the spiny bollworm (SBW) on okra pods sprayed with emamectin benzoate (proclaim®) and those sprayed with 10% aqueous and oil extracts of jatropha seeds and argel leaves. Significantly low (P≤0.05) mean number of eggs was laid on pod sprayed with 10% aqueous extracts of jatropha seeds (4.5), and argel leaves (1.8) compared to that laid on the untreated pod (11.8). The study recommends the use of aqueous extracts of jatropha seeds at a concentration of 10% and argel leaves at a concentration of 10%. The study also recommends the use of aqueous extracts of jatropha and argel for their ease of preparation. The study suggested other work to validate these results under field conditions.

Abstract: Microbial lipids are in the form of triacylglycerols (TAGs). Glucose was used as carbon source for accumulation of triacylglycerols. In this study, isolated fungi were screened for their lipid producing capacities by Sudan Black B staining method. Biochemical and molecular characterizations were done for identifications of potential lipid producers. The fungus Epicaleosporium ramularioids and Podosphaera xanthii showed its lipid productivity 24.2736% and 45.67% respectively. The extracted lipids were analyzed by Gas chromatography with mass spectroscopy for fatty acid determination.
