Abstract: The main purpose of this study was to establish the effect of Community initiative on performance of Supermarkets in Eldoret Town, Kenya. The reason why the study was done is because most of the supermarkets have been experiencing financial problems which have led some of them collapse. This study therefore sought to find out how community initiative can affect the performance of supermarkets and provide some remedies which may help reduce the problems facing these supermarkets. The study adopted the descriptive research design. Stratified and simple random sampling was used to select respondents. The study made the following recommendation; it is vital for supermarkets to provide recreational services to the community in order for it to increase its sales volume. The study contributed to literature review, policy making and development of measurements of scale. The study recommends that further studies should be carried out to explore the relationship between community initiative and profitability and to determine whether those relationships hold consistently over time.

Abstract: This is a conceptual study that proposes examining the role microfinance plays in reducing poverty among women in Katsina metropolis. Women are generally considered being at the lowest rung of poverty ladder in Nigeria because of their low income status. Review of related literature was done to adequately understand the relationship among the variables in the study and thus a model has been proposed there from. The study would use two variables including microfinance as the independent variable and poverty as dependent variable. The population would consist of all the women in Katsina metropolis, Katsina State, Nigeria. A survey study will be employed to collect data from the respondent, and the sampling technique of 384 will be drawn using the Krejcie and Morgan’s (1970) Scientific Guideline. The study will use descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze the data collected.

Abstract: This study was conducted to find out especially how the changing times both politically and economically are affecting Myanmar's total attractiveness, what kind of assets are seen to be most important for future success, and what improvements are needed to reach the objectives. The objective is to conduct a profound study and assess a number of different factors on many different point of views to define the current conditions of Myanmar's economic environment. Also, the impact of development in Association of Southeast Asian Nations organization (ASEAN) is examined and the possible impacts the improvements are having on Myanmar.
From the findings that were made, it is possible to claim the next years in Myanmar are critical indeed to predict the future. The biggest issues are for instance how long does the transition towards transparent, peaceful democratic nation take. The legal environment needs to be updated, infrastructure built up and stability in banking and finance sector to be set up.
Practical tips for the businesses that consider investing in Myanmar consists of three main points: do a profound research on the market with assessment of demand, capacity, supporting industries and competitors; find a trustworthy local partner which shares the same interests with you and; lastly, have an excessive amount of patience if the things are going sideways in the beginning. Most of the foreign companies operating there now are huge global players with deep pockets and thus, probably difficult to challenge. Myanmar seems highly potential destination, but a lot of progress is needed to reach the same level than its competitors in Southeast Asia.

Abstract: The main aim of this paper is to propose a model for investigating the relationship between trust in advertising and consumer purchase intentions. Data for the study will be gathered through structured questionnaire to be administered by the researchers. The sample of the study will be drawn from some selected tertiary institutions in Adamawa State including Adamawa State University Mubi, Federal Polytechnic Mubi and Federal College of Education Hong. From the literature reviewed, it was revealed that trust in advertising is a muiti-dimensional construct with four distinct components: Reliability, Usefulness, Affect and Willingness to rely on, and only a few studies used these dimensions to examine their effects on consumer purchase intentions. Thus, this study proposes to test the effects of trust in adverting on consumer purchase intention in the Nigerian context where there was no literature evidence to show similar study was conducted.

Abstract: Electricity price has often been analyzed using univariate time series approach, where for example autoregressive and moving average models were used to model and forecast. But these univariate econometric models are not able to capture the evolution and the interdependencies between multiple time series; to measure the effect of each independent variable on dependent variable. This research project was aimed to measure the effects of Consumer Price Index CPI; fuel price FP and gasoil price GP on electricity price EP in Rwanda. This study used a vector autoregressive model to evaluate the effects of the oil price and consumer price index on electricity price in Rwanda. The model used observed secondary data from 2006 to 2015 on oil price, and consumer price index. Unit root test was conducted in order to know if the data are stationary. The co-integration approach was employed to investigate the long-run relationship between electricity price and variables mentioned above. Ordinary least square was adopted as estimation technique of the parameters to test their adequacy, also Granger causality tests were used to analyze the dynamic relationship between electricity price and its independent variables. The impulse response functions and variance decomposition were used to show how the fluctuations in oil prices and consumer price index affect the electricity price in Rwanda. In this study, Eviews software was used for data analysis and the results revealed that the considered variables are not co integrated, means that there is no long run relationship among the variables.

Abstract: This study investigates the relationship between economic growth, external debt stock and external debt service payments of Nigeria within the context of econometric exposition over the period 1970-2014. These variables were estimated using the vector error correction models (VECM) and Granger causality technique. The results reveals both short run and long run relationships. Findings from the results show that there exist bi-directional causality going from (i) external debt stock and economic growth (ii) external debt service payments and economic growth and (iii) unidirectional granger causality going from external debt stock and external debt service payments.
