Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of employees' Environmentally-Friendly, work environment, employee performance, and job satisfaction. The research was carried out during the 2021 Covid-19 pandemic. The research subject was 65 employees who worked at the Bali Design and Business Institute. Inferential evaluation on this examination makes use of the SEM PLS model and is processed with Smart PLS version 3.2.8 to evaluate the research model. The results showed, based on the results of the direct and indirect effects tests, it can be concluded that by testing the direct effects, all the proposed hypotheses can be retained, that is to say that there is a positive influence between respect for the environment of employees on employee performance and job Satisfaction.

Abstract: Statistical evidence from SASRA annual supervisory reports indicate a declining number of Deposit taking SACCOs especially after the introduction of SASRA regulation of 2012 on capital. This study sought to investigate the effect of financial leverage on financial performance of Sacco’s in Kenya. The objectives of the study were to determine the effect of debt to capital ratio, debt to equity ratio, short term debt ratio and short term debt ratio on financial performance of Sacco’s in Kenya. The study employed purpose sampling technique of the 30 Sacco’s out of the 42 available Sacco’s in Nairobi City County. The study was carried out between years 2012 to 2018 where secondary data was collected and used for this study. Causal research design was employed to determine the effect of the financial leverage on financial performance. Panel regression model was employed for analysis. Document review guide was used to extract information from the financial statements of the Sacco’s in Nairobi. Diagnostic test were carried out to meet the assumptions of the panel regression model. The study found out that debt to equity ratio had a statistically significant negative effect on financial performance, debt to capital ratio had a statistically significant negative effect on financial performance, long-term to total asset ratio had a statistically significant effect on financial performance, short-term to total asset had a statistically significant positive effect on financial performance. The study concluded that debt to equity, debt to capital and short-term to total asset are associated with financial performance of Sacco’s. The study recommends that Sacco’s should consider debt restructuring when it comes to capital structure, client management with the sole objective of achieving the vision 2030.

Abstract: Nowadays, strong organizations make efforts to ensure that successful relationships are keep up through terms that encourage collaboration and support manage risk. Despite the importance of the existence of several forms of construction contracts for standardization contractual clauses in Mega industrial projects, standardization inevitably reduces the flexibility of these documents and their ability to adapt to all possible circumstances and parties' interests and needs. Contracts can function as an administrative tool for effective dispute control and project management by allocating each significant risk factor to the party who is capable to bear, manage, or mitigate it. The Conditions of Contract for Plant and Design Build {FIDIC form 2017 Yellow Book} were studied and examined to address the risky clauses. Some amendments were made to mitigate the project's significant risk factors and change the contract into a risk-balanced contract that could be used as a project management tool. These amendments focused on the specific requirements of Mega industrial projects, strive hard to address some problems such as the responsibility matrix between the Employer and the Contractor, limitation of liability, resolving procurements problems, Design errors, and contradiction in documents, the need for coordination between contractors and subcontractors, the importance of adhering to the project program, and linking delay damages with the project milestones. The outcomes of this study will be highly valuable to contract parties in terms of good managing projects, reallocating, reducing, and managing risk, and dispute avoidance.

Abstract: The study interrogated organizational culture moderating effect on the relationship between corporate entrepreneurship and organizational performance. The polyurethane manufacturing sector was the focus, while the unit of analysis was the managers. The paper used a cross-sectional research design, and a total enumeration technique was adopted for sampling. The developed questionnaire was administered after the instrument’s validity and reliability were established. Results of hierarchical regression analysis revealed a statistically significant moderating effect of organizational culture on the relationship between corporate entrepreneurship and organizational performance. This provided a perspective on pump-priming organizational performance through hybridization of organizational culture and corporate entrepreneurship to accelerate growth.

Abstract: The environment in which the Kenyan flower firms operate has been subject to great turbulence. For the last decade has seen the collapse of many flower firms in Kenya which was attributed to poor organizational performance due to inefficiency, poor customer satisfaction, low market share, inadequate compliance to policies, low acquisition of skills and marginal profits. Production technology keeps changing and competition continues to become stiff for flower firms in Kenya to improve their organizational performance. Therefore, current study sought to investigate the effect of strategic leader’s direction on the performance of flamingo flower firm in Nakuru County, Kenya. A descriptive research design was adopted in the study. The target population was flamingo flower firm in Nakuru County, Kenya and the respondents included the 15 organization’s senior managers and 125 support staff. 94 respondents were chosen using a stratified random sampling method. For the primary data sources, the study used questionnaires with open and closed questions. The pilot study included 10 randomly selected respondents in the organization department and will not participate in the final study. A content validity test was used that ensured that what was contained in the questionnaire was in a form that the respondents could understand even without interpretation from the researcher. To assess reliability, the Cronbach alpha test was used, with the Cronbach alpha coefficient calculated from the data collected. The process of analyzing data in quantitative nature was done descriptively using means and standard deviations. Description of inferential statistics was done involving the correlation and regressions analysis that presented the way the variables related to one another. The study found that the strategic leader's direction, strategic control, strategic plans, and human capital development all have a significant impact on organizational performance. The study concluded that strategic leader's direction enables managers to provide a strategic vision for the organization or a portion of the organization, as well as motivating and persuading others to adopt that vision. The study recommended that the strategic leaders should be passionate about their roles that exceed finances and authorities together with the urge in achieving goals with strength and purpose.

Abstract: Owners tend to use (custom) contracts to suit their project needs and specifications, and they often assign excessive risks to contractors.  The current paper's goal is to look into the current risk distribution in Mega industrial projects in Egypt. Where correctly identifying, assessing, and allocating risks in contracts can improve project performance. Based on an extensive literature review, the study identified 70 risk factors that are divided into nine groups. The respondents were asked to estimate the probability, impact, and way to control these risk factors. The results indicate that there is a problem in allocating risks in these projects and the top-ranked risk factors are procurement Problems, subcontractors' failure to comply with the schedule, unclear responsibility matrix, indecisive management, compliance risks (H&SE), and delay due to permit and consent from statutory bodies. These risk factors demonstrated that the current risk allocation practice in construction projects is inefficient and led to several other problems, such as claims, disputes, and aggressive relationships. The research is divided into two papers, Paper II will discuss how to mitigate these problems by redistributing risks equitably in a balanced construction contract to eliminate conflicts and adversarial relationships. The study's findings may help practitioners in allocating risks to partners who are better able to assess, control, and manage them. The risk ranking that was produced can be used to evaluate risks for contingency planning.

Abstract: The limited ability of human resources to be competitive, independent, and innovative in Pinge Tourism Village is an obstacle to local community expectations of how a community-based tourism principle can be implemented as expected. Therefore, even though it is managed directly by the community, the development of the Pinge Tourism Village must of course always be directed and evaluated whether the concept of community-based tourism implemented by the community is ideal with the principles of community-based tourism. Based on this, it is important for researchers to conduct an analysis of the principles of community-based tourism in Pinge Tourism Village.

In this study, qualitative data analysis was used. The conclusion of this study is that in general, Pinge Tourism Village has implemented almost all the principles of developing community-based tourism in the economic, social, cultural, environmental, and political dimensions well. Suggestions that can be given by researchers are suggestions for managers or tourism-aware groups, the community, and the role of local governments in pursuing several aspects of community-based tourism principles that still need to be optimized.

Abstract: Corporate governance in organizations has evolved rapidly in the recent times, and its importance has been highlighted across the globe. Consequently, when adopting and implementing corporate governance, this decision may have a positive impact on decisions relating to existing investors on the one hand and potential investors on the other. County governments use the law to regulate and administer public affairs. The law is meant to address a specific social challenge or mischief. Therefore, this study determines the influence of corporate governance in the legislation performance of devolved system of governance in Kenya. There were specific objectives; To determine the role of public participation, legal framework, resource allocation and capacity building on the legislation performance devolved system of governance in Kenya. A descriptive survey research design was adopted in the three organs of government, the legislature, the executive, and the county government's judiciary with a target population of 117. Stratified random sampling, objective and simple random sampling was used to select the sample population, and the sample size was 91. Respondents with a major mandate of legislation determined using Yamane’s (1967) formula. Questionnaires and self-administered interviews were used for data collection. An experimental study was conducted on 10% of the target population to determine the reliability and validity of the instrument. Close-ended questions generated quantitative data and open-ended questions yielded qualitative data. SPSS version 24 was used to analyze all quantitative data. Inferential and descriptive statistics was used to analyze qualitative data. The frequency distribution\mean, standard deviation, and percentage were included in the descriptive data. Inferential data analysis was done using Pearson correlation coefficient, regression analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The data from the questionnaire made use of both qualitative and quantitative and was coded into a Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 24, which will be used to generate descriptive statistics and inferred statistics. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to establish the influence of corporate governance on the law process of devolved system of governance, Kenya. The results were presented using tables, pie charts and graphs. The study found that Corporate Governance influenced Legislation Performance significantly in devolved system of governance, Kenya.  Public Participation, Legal Framework, Resource Allocation, and Capacity Building had strong positive significant relationship with Legislation Performance in devolved system of governance, Kenya. Corporate Governance (Public Participation, Legal Framework, Resource Allocation, and Capacity Building) explained 80.3% of Legislation Performance in devolved system of governance, Kenya. The results of this study will be of particular importance to the county government's assembly, especially in terms of the results and recommendations that emerge from the study. The study attempted to delve into the potential shortcomings of corporate governance relating to the law process of devolved system of governance, Kenya. The study recommends similar study to be done in other counties to ascertain the variation in Legal Performance.

Abstract: Globally, infrastructure development is critical in defining a country’s overall productivity and economic development Road infrastructure project performance is critical for every economy’s growth and development. It is vital to the economy in terms of wealth creation and job creation. However, road infrastructure projects in developing nations are more frequently underfunded, and a higher percentage of road projects built by local enterprises in these countries have encountered cost and time overruns, as well as failing to reach promised quality standards. The study investigated the influence of human management on the performance of construction projects by Kenya National Highways Authority in Nairobi City County. A descriptive research design was adopted targeting an accessible population of 10 ongoing road infrastructure projects within Nairobi City County undertaken by the Kenya National Highways Authority from 2019. The sample of the study comprised of 175 respondents made up of project managers, site engineers and project team members. A semi-structured questionnaire was used to collect primary data. Validity of the study instruments was assessed with the help of the supervisors. The reliability was determined using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient. If the coefficient is 0.7 or greater, it is considered satisfactory. Descriptive and inferential statistics were employed to analyze the data. Multiple regression analyses were used to determine the relationship between variables. The study results indicated that there was a positive relationship between human management and the performance of construction projects by Kenya National Highways Authority in Nairobi City County. The study concluded that human management improved the way road construction projects done by Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) in Nairobi County performed. The study recommended that for successful delivery of road construction projects, given the role that human management plays, it is critical that qualified, experienced and competent human resource be engaged in road construction projects done by KeNHA.

Abstract: Since time immemorial, human civilizations have used various types of projects to deliver change or benefit to societies. They include the projects such as Voyages of Discovery of Henry the Navigator, the Great Pyramids of Egypt, the ancient Roman roads, the Grand Canal of China, the Dykes of Holland and the Atomic bomb among others. Since 1950s the development agenda has been characterized by projects and programs aimed at improving the quality of life of beneficiary communities, be it in physical or qualitative terms. Projects of antiquity have left their mark on society and contributed to positive changes that benefit society in general and improved living conditions for many people. The nature of projects is that they vary in scale, purpose and duration. Projects represent the commitment of human and physical resources to produce specific outputs in a given time and budget framework. They may be initiated by a community requiring modest inputs and producing tangible outputs within a relatively short timeframe.  The study aimed at establishing Project Management life cycle and sustainability of devolved system of governance projects in Kenya. Specifically, the study looked at roles of: Project Initiation, Project Planning, Project Execution and Project Closure on the sustainability of Mount Kenya East Counties projects. The study was conducted in Mount Kenya East (Meru, Embu and Tharaka Nithi) and the targeted population was 154 members involved in County projects. A census was done where the entire population was administered with questionnaires. The study used descriptive survey design. The study found that the Project Management Life Cycle has as significant role on the sustainability of projects in counties. Project Initiation had a slightly significant positive relationship with sustainability. Project Planning has a strong positive relationship with sustainability of projects. Project Execution has weak positive relationship with sustainability and finally, Project Closure has moderately strong positive relationship with sustainability. The four independent variables explained 78.4% of sustainability.  The study recommended that the Project Management Life Cycle to be well implemented in projects to ensure sustainability of those projects. The study further recommends a similar study to de conducted to identify the other roles that help ensure 100% sustainability of projects. The study will be helpful to the county government administration, scholars, and other project stakeholders as they thrive to ensure sustainability of projects is achieved.

Abstract: A poorly defined project scope has been associated with project failure, with an inadequately planned project scope having a negative correlation with project performance. A well-defined scope will allow the stakeholder to have common goals and expectations throughout the life of the project. Scope management integrates clear definition, effective management, and effective communication with stakeholders, all of which safeguard project success. The goal of this study was to establish the role of scope management in the successful implementation of health infrastructural program in Nairobi County. The research was a descriptive study whose objectives are to evaluate four factors affecting the influence of project scope management on infrastructural health program in Nairobi County. The study was guided by the following objectives; scope planning, scope budgeting, project scope scheduling, scope change and successful implementation of health infrastructural program as the dependent variable. The study was based on stakeholder’s theory, the pure theory of public expenditure, theory of constraints, and theory of change which provided a theoretical framework upon which project scope management implementation can be understood. The study targeted 120 personnel involved in the construction of 40 health facilities in Nairobi County. A questionnaire was used as a research instrument to obtain data from the respondents. The questions were checked for content validity with the researcher engaging the supervisory panel to ensure that the questions were fit to measure what they are supposed to measure. The study also incorporated a reliability test and an internal consistency test. The reliability limits using Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient for this study was a threshold value of 0.7. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) program was used to analyze the data. Quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics such as mean scores and standard deviations. Multiple regression analysis was used to determine the role of scope management in the successful implementation of health infrastructural program in Nairobi County. From the multiple regression analysis, the results indicated that project scope planning, scope budgeting, scope scheduling and scope control had significant effects on the implementation of infrastructural health projects. The findings revealed that scope management has a positive and significant influence on the successful implementation of infrastructural health program. From the study findings, it was concluded that an increase in scope planning, scope scheduling and scope control would lead to an increase in the successful implementation of infrastructural health program.

Abstract: With the major concern on the effects of non-biodegradable packaging materials and individual use plastic cups used by coffee shops in the municipality of Silang and the cities of Dasmariñas, and Tagaytay, Cavite, the purpose of this study is to find and provide alternative ways on sustainable packaging that can be applied in the selected coffee shops. The researcher used Likert scale survey and was given the total of 191 respondents, 152 for the customers and 39 for the staff. The questionnaire/survey contains 2 sections: part 1-for the demographic profile, part 2-customer perception on coffee shops packages practices. Based on the results, the customers and staff strongly agreed that coffee shops in the three cities were following proper waste segregation. The researchers also found that coffee shops commonly use paper cups, paper bags, and paper straws as their packaging materials. Most of the coffee shops also show that they are not giving additional charge for customers who are using disposable cups and they do not offer discounts to customers who bring their own mug.

Abstract: The aim of this study was to establish the impact of balanced scorecard on the competitiveness of micro-finance institutions in Kenya. The study explored the competitiveness of microfinance institutions in Kenya through the lenses of the four perspectives of the balanced scorecard, that is, internal business processes, financial, growth and learning as well as Customer focus. A descriptive research design was used while the target  population comprised of the 48 registered Micro-Finance Institutions in Kenya. The sample size was drawn from the senior management in these Micro-Finance Institutions comprising of finance managers, branch managers, customer relationship managers and operations managers making a total of 192 respondents. A structured questionnaire was used to collect the primary data for the study. The collected primary data was analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics through SPSS. The findings revealed that financial perspective, organizational learning, internal business process and customer focus had a significant influence on the competitiveness of Micro-Finance Institutions in Kenya. It was concluded that through financial perspective, the MFIs would enhance their financial capability to run their operations. Internal business process would enhance the ability of the MFIs to have a smooth efficient operational framework for continued competitiveness. Organizational learning was concluded to be essential in promoting knowledge sharing and ability to solve problems in the MFIs, while customer focus is essential in bringing the customers closer to the MFIs and helping the institutions understand and meet their needs. The study recommended that there is need for the management of the MFIs in Kenya to embrace financial perspective; organizational learning, internal business process and customer focus as balanced scorecard aspects to stir competitiveness.

Abstract: The aim of this paper is to establish the influence of reverse logistics on performance of building and construction manufacturing firms in Kenya. The study also sought to establish the moderating effect of firm characteristics on the relationship between reverse logistics and performance of building and construction manufacturing firms in Kenya. To achieve this, the study was anchored on technology acceptance theory and the economic theory of firm characteristics. This study adopted a descriptive research design approach. This method is preferred because it allows an in-depth study of the subject. The study population was 54 building and construction manufacturing firms in Kenya. The sample size was 270 respondents which was determined through purposive sampling targeting key departments in the 54 companies. Primary data was collected using a structured questionnaire. Qualitative data was analyzed through content analysis whereas quantitative data was analyzed through descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. The findings were presented in tables, pie-charts and bar-graphs. The results revealed that green logistics through reverse logistics significantly influenced the performance of the building and construction manufacturing firms in Kenya. The study concluded that through embrace of reverse logistics, performance of the manufacturing firms was obtained. It is recommended that the management of the building and construction manufacturing firms embraces reverse logistics though which they can save on costs, enhance sustainability and promote performance.
