Abstract: It is a common practice by most firms to cut or freeze training budget whenever the economic conditions are hard or even suspend training programs altogether. The aim of this study is to find out the effect of training on the effectiveness of supply chain management in the Kenyan public sector. The study adopted a descriptive research design considering a population of 120 and randomly selected60 respondents. Data was gathered by questionnaires and analyzed by SPSS then Pearson correlation applied to establish the relationship between the research variables. The study arrived at conclusion that the effectiveness of SCM significantly depends on procurement employees training (r=0.878). The study recommends continuous training programs of procurement staff on emerging and current issues on the supply chain management.

Abstract: The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is not a new concept in India. Ever since the inception, corporates like Bharat Petroleum, Birla Group, Hindustan Unilever, Indian Oil, and Tata Group and ITC to name a few are involved in serving the community. Through donations and charity events, many other organisations have also been doing their part for the society. On the other hand, the CSR programmes of corporations like GlaxoSmithKline and a few others focus on the health aspect of the community. They set up health camps in tribal villages which offer medical check-ups and treatment and undertake health awareness programmes. Corporate social responsibility has gained tremendous momentum in today’s economic and social environment. The traditional approach of corporates that ‘the business of business is to do businesses has changed and now business goals are inseparable from the societies and environment within which business operate. Whilst short-term economic gain can be pursued through traditional approach, the failure to align the business goals with social and environmental factors will make those businesses unsustainable in the long term. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) can be understood as a management concept and a process that integrates social and environmental concerns in business operations and a company’s interactions with the full range of its stakeholders. Due to the world becoming a global village, companies are encouraged to embrace, support and enact, within their sphere of influence, a set of core values in the areas of human rights, labour standards, the environment and anti-corruption.

Abstract: This study explores the factors and determinants that induce or encumber organisations to put into practice green supply chain management initiatives especially by fertilizers companies within Pakistan. Impact of PSR (Purchasing social responsibility), customer oriented organisational culture and environmental/ legal concerns onto the green supply chain management effectiveness are examined in this paper. Literature review identifies the main categories of above mentioned variables which are considered as important indicators of supply chain management affecting business processes to a large context. Data was gathered through questionnaire distributed to key players in fertilizers sector of Pakistan. Results obtained through statistical process/analysis were interesting in a way that a legal and environmental obligation affected more and has shown positive significant impact on Green SCM rather than customer centric orientation in Pakistan business arena. However this paper unfolds many traditionally believed positive indicators holding good for other businesses, an eye opener that Pakistan fertilizers companies need to stress more on purchasing social responsibility and customer centred business activities to prosper more while being green and socially responsible to society they belong.

Abstract: The current ruble crisis causes much trouble for many of those eastern European countries like Russia and its neighbour countries: Strong ruble depreciation and high inflation for consumer goods are its most negative consequences. Because the ruble is only a national currency, but not a world currency, some people might ask if we introduce a new global currency, the World Calories Currency (WCC) or "Cal-Money", that currency would be less vulnerable and less crisis-prone. In this short paper, I firstly present the 4 main criteria of a successful and widely accepted currency:

1. Fair volubility & high inflation security, 2. High trust and acceptance among the users, 3.high distribution over the world and 4.High supportiveness of the real economy. After I compared the strength & weaknesses of the World Calorie Currency and present some concrete measures to make the Cal-Money implementation more smoothly, I then came to conclusion that all 4 main criteria of a successful, worldwide applicable currency would be fulfilled by the WCC.

Abstract: Finally, the youngest Minister of Corporate Affairs has been successful in bringing the much awaited fresh perspective in the Corporate Law to its logical conclusion. It would only be fair to acknowledge several positive indications in the Companies Act, 2013 (referred to as the new Act), including self-regulation and appropriate empowerment. Overall it is a genuine attempt and a much awaited overhaul with the changing environment and forward thinking. Implementation and transition to comply with the new law would need regulatory support and change in the mindset. Corporates would need significant preparation and groundwork to abide by the law in substance. It is also necessary that the regulatory authorities ensure adequate monitoring and enforcement mechanism, in the absence of which the objective may not be achieved.

The new Act contains only 470 clauses compared to 658 sections in the erstwhile Act. However, there appears to be more than 300 clauses that are subject to substantive rules to be prescribed. A combination of the proposed Act and the related Rules may turn out to be larger than the existing law. Timely response of the regulatory authorities to the challenges posed by multiple interpretations and related administration, would make implementation easier and is of utmost importance.

Abstract: Indian Hotel industry is witnessing colossal thrives in recent years. Even though many employees are joining the industry, it is facing an imbalance between the supply and demand of employees. Data was collected from 500 hotel employees by questionnaire designed to elicit their attitudes to employee retention strategies and perception with respect to job satisfaction. An examination of the impact of employee retention strategies and job satisfaction revealed that employee benefits and reward management, working environment, management support and employee development play key role in influencing job satisfaction.

Abstract: Understanding market structures and models is key for firms in achieving competitive advantage and this is based on the fact that market structures influence a firm’s behaviour and profit opportunity and are therefore critical to  understanding how a market function. This research paper examines “market structures and models: a situation analysis”; with the following objectives; to provide and analysis market structures and models and as well as pricing decisions available for firms, to examine the relationship between marginal revenue (MR) and marginal cost (MC)  in profit maximization and to explain how different market structures affect business decisions and the researcher recommends on the need for firms to adopt these models so as to achieve profit maximization in its business decisions.

Abstract: The Growth of Technology has influenced on E-Learning through Natural Language Processing. It has completely changed the traditional way of learning with the rapid growth in the development of information retrieval, which makes an expressive and efficient way of quick and effective reach to the students over vast information through Natural Language Processing. This research represents to a Question Answering teaching tool which is limited for a particular area; number of relevant answers for the question is stored in the database by experts. Students have a facility to type the question in a given space and the system automatically generates the templates, and all the user-questions are taken as Natural Language queries as input. Here each and every template representing a question are pre stored in a database with its answer, just when the best matched template for the question is found, the corresponding answer will be returned to the end user. The Template matching technique has been used to match the most suitable answer. Major development starts with Frequently Asked Question with in-built as automated question answering process. This research analyze  as how to understand a natural language question and how to represent the semantic content of an instructional text question as well as how to measure the relevance between a question and the answer for it in content –based retrieval. The main contribution is to give more suitable answer and its improved versions of answers for the question which typed and it is understood by natural language processing techniques. This research resolves in real environment, whenever they have a doubt in the relevant area.

Abstract: The present study has been conducted to measure the Job Satisfaction level among the College Teachers of Non- Professional Institution in Punjab and then to explore the relationship between Job Satisfaction level and Absenteeism trends among them. The study was based on the primary data collected. To fulfill the objectives of the study, 258 College Teachers from Non-Professional Institution in Punjab from representative 5 districts (i.e., Amritsar, Bathinda, Jalandhar, Patiala, Ropar) out of 22 districts of Punjab were selected to constitute the sample. Information from selected College Teachers was collected through a questionnaire. The data was further analyzed by using statistical techniques. The College Teachers of Non- Professional Institutions in Punjab were found to be approaching high degree of satisfaction. Further, there exists a non significant negative correlation (-0.06409) between Job Satisfaction level of College Teachers of Non-Professional Institutions and Absenteeism trends among them. The Paper recognizes the importance of teaching fraternity in improving the educational level of the society and furthering the overall interest of society.

Abstract: Flight attendants job turnover from 1999 to 2013 was studied. Data were collected from a randomized 2013 mail survey of 800 flight attendants licensed in four countries (Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, and United Arab Emirates). The survey instrument included questions on flight attendants demographics, work schedules, salary, and work history. A total of 541 flight attendants responded, yielding an adjusted response rate of 69%. Information was provided with start dates from 1999 to 2013. Flight attendants job turnover was fairly steady across the 2009-2013 period, averaging 11% annually. The average median tenure of flight attendants who left jobs was 32 months. The percentage of flight attendants leaving jobs and ranking stress as the reason for leaving increased, and the percentage of leavers ranking salary as the reason decreased. Women had a significantly higher annual turnover rate (15%) than men (9. 7%), and they stayed in jobs for significantly less time (25.2 months) than men (56.5 months). There were no differences in turnover rates across practice settings. A larger percentage of flight attendants leaving jobs in large institutional settings ranked stress as a reason for leaving than flight attendants leaving small flight companies. A larger percentage of flight attendants leaving small flight companies ranked salary as a reason than flight attendants in the other setting. Flight attendants job turnover averaged 11% per year between 2009 and 2013. Flight attendants who left jobs typically stayed less than three years. The percentage citing stress as a reason for leaving increased, and the percentage citing salary decreased.

Abstract: “Advertisement is the life of trade” by observing this line we come to know that advertisement is advantageous to the company and the other line says- “Advertisement is a legalized lying” by observing this line we may feel that advertisement is a disadvantage to the consumer to a greater extent.  But these two lines made confusion for us to know the actual fact of whether advertisement is advantageous to the consumer or not.  So, to analyse clear picture of advertisement and also to know the problems and benefits of advertisement on both consumer and company we have taken an effort to understand the strategy of advertisement.

This research paper quest opinion of customers and companies about the advertisement. It contains table and graph related to customer’s opinion about advertisement.  We stated benefits, problems of advertisement on company and customers and also the reasons and suggestion for the problems. These suggestions are mainly helpful for the company to eradicate their problems.

Advertisement plays vital role in modern business.  No manufacture can furnish his production without advertisement.  Because a newly started company will face distinct competition in the market, to withstand in the market they has to give publicity to widen their market.

Abstract: Present study has been carried out in Tekanpur Lake to study the physico-chemical water quality and primary productivity to assess its production potential. The study area was divided into 5 sampling sites to cover the whole lake area comprehensively. The parameters taken  were pH, Conductivity (μmho/cm), Turbidity (NTU), Transparency (m), Total Hardness, TSS (mg/l), TDS (mg/l), Total Alkalinity , Free CO2(mg/l),DO (mg/l),BOD (mg/l), COD(mg/l), TN (mg/l), Nitrate-N (mg/l), Nitrite (mg/l), TKN (mg/l), TP(mg/l), Fluoride (mg/l),primary Productivity(mg C/m3(/d) & Chlorophyll-a microgram/l. Trophic Static Index of Tekanpur Lake was computed using regression equations and Carlson trophic status classification criteria  was followed to know the status of the lake and The  water quality  criteria developed by CPCB have been used  for classifying the lake water quality(class of water).The variations of each particular parameter across stations and that over seasons or years were calculated using the correlation and t-test.
