Abstract: The aim of developing a total prosthetic hand was to achieve hand function as near normal as possible. Since the very complex kinematics of the hand is not at all easy to copy, a compromise had to be found. The prosthetic hands are still a long way from matching the grasping and manipulation capability of their human counterparts in order to overcome this .I have designed this prosthetic hand which can manipulate most of the human hand actions in this paper I discuss about each and every part of this prosthetic hand in detail this prosthetic hand is designed in such a way that the spring responsible for the retractile action and the guide way which is used for actuation is housed within the finger itself this makes the design simpler and effective unlike other prosthetic hands this can achieve a maximum grasp and hold as like our human hand.

Abstract: Diesel engine plays a vital and indispensable role in human life. At the same time, they contribute to atmospheric pollution substantially. This is a very tentative situation where in both the environment comfort is inter-related. One cannot reduce the usage of diesel. If the current scenario continues, there might come a day when there would be no more diesel left. Hence, this is the correct time to produce an alternate fuel which can perform like diesel.  In this present work, Nerium oil is extracted and it is converted into bio-diesel as an alternative fuel for diesel engine. The testing is done by running a diesel engine with the biodiesel blends with base fuel in various proportions to find out the optimum blend ratio. Our present work is of 3 phases. The first phase is the manufacture of bio-diesel from Nerium oil. In the second phase, bio-diesel is tested and some important fundamental characteristics such as Calorific Value, Flash and Fire point and Viscosity of the bio-diesel were intended. The third phase is the most vital phase. Here, the performance characteristics of bio diesel are compared with base fuel. From the, it is found that the bio-diesel produced from Nerium oil can be successfully used as an alternate fuel for diesel in a diesel engine. It is also seen that the performance of the diesel engine has been increased.

Abstract: Several drying methods which are used in industrial production of the fresh paddy today cannot reduce moisture content at the same level for all gain. Then it causes to stimulate the growth of bacteria, fungi and yeast. Therefore this research aims to develop the dryer which is namely “Must Flow dryer”. This type of dryer is able to reduce the moisture content at the same level for all gain which is better than using the Fluidized Bed and the Relying Sunny Breezes method. The performance of the Must Flow dryer for drying can be accounted with a superior level because of the electrical power consumption can be save about 33 kW, and the head rice yield has met the criteria at the average of 58.3 %as well as the final moisture content can be control at the average of 15.0 % wb and the whiteness color index better than the Relying Sunny Breezes method (concrete patio) and  the Fluidized Bed dryer, which is almost equal  to amounts of rice, a fresh paddy quantity of 420tons. The developed “Must Flow dryer” also keeping the whiteness color index of dried paddy about 40.3.

Abstract: In this study, the e-glass epoxy laminates are manufactured and fabricated as per ASTM standard 300x300x4mm.  Tensile, flexural strength specimens of E-glass epoxy laminated composite are examined experimentally. Clamped-free boundary conditions are considered for all iterations. Experiments have been carried out on these laminated composite specimens to find the tensile & flexural strength. Same models are modelled in hyper mesh and run with the Abaqus software to validate the experimental results. After the validation different configuration laminates are modelled and solved numerically using Abaqus to identify the best material having the highest tensile and flexural strengths. Percentage error computed between the validated experimental and numerical results is applied on the results of all the iterations involved in the work. The buckling strength of the panel is computed for panel selected from the study.

Abstract: Netflix, Inc. is an American company was established in 1997 that provides on-demand Internet streaming media to North and South America, the Caribbean, U.K. and many other European countries. The company’s website was launched in August 1997 with only 30 employees and 925 workers available for rent. It brought the traditional online pay-per-rental model. In September 1999, the company introduced its monthly subscription concept and then dropped the single-rental model in 2000. Netflix portrays somewhat all of the seven characteristics of Good to Great Companies. Netflix is a good example of a great company that mainly focuses on the two characteristics: “the culture of discipline” and ‘First Who, Then What’ concept. Although other characteristics of the Great companies described by Collins including ‘confront the brutal facts’ and ‘level 5 leadership’ are also reflected in the company’s features. Netflix has taken this to an extreme with amazing  results.

Abstract:  In the present investigation an attempt has been made on the study of friction performance of LM6 reinforcing with varying SiC content composite for varying process parameters. The composite is prepared by stir casting process in an electric melting furnace. The tribological tests are carried out on LM6 with varying SiC for testing the friction property of the material. The experimental study is performed varying Normal pressure, speed and wt % of SIC. The design of experiment approach was employed to acquire data in controlled way using Taguchi method. An orthogonal array, signal-to-noise ratio and analysis of variance were employed to optimize the wear rate and frictional force of LM6-SiC composite. The mathematical model was obtained to determine the friction performance of Al-SiC composite. It is observed that sliding speed influence the friction behaviour, significantly.

Abstract: In the present investigation an attempt has been made to improve the tribological property of ZA-27 alloy by adding 1% Mn alloy. The wear behaviour of the modified ZA-27 alloy was studied by performing dry sliding wear test using pin-on-disc wear and friction monitor tester by varying Nr. Pressure and sliding speed.  Experiments were conducted based on the plan of experiments generated through taguchi technique. An orthogonal array, signal-to-noise ratio and analysis of variance were employed to investigate the wear behaviour of modified ZA-27 alloy. The mathematical model was obtained to determine the wear rate of the modified ZA-27 alloy. The confirmation tests were conducted to verify the experimental results.  In this study we found that the Nr. Pressure and sliding speed are more sensitive parameters.

Abstract: An embedded system is a special-purpose computer system designed to perform a dedicated function. Since the system is dedicated to specific tasks, design engineers can optimize it, reducing the size and cost of the product. Embedded system comprises of both hardware and software. Embedded technology uses PC or a controller to do the specified task and the programming is done using assembly language programming or embedded C. A robot is an apparently human automation, intelligent and obedient but impersonal machine. It is relatively, that robots have started to employ a degree of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their work and many robots required human operators, or precise guidance throughout their missions. Slowly, robots are becoming more and more autonomous. This project presents the construction of an autonomous spy robot which has a wireless CCTV on it. The robot is capable to maneuver and scout a given particular area safely by avoiding obstructions across its path and streaming the wires video data onto a TV screen.

Many organizations have implemented TPM to improve their equipment efficiency and to obtain the competitive advantage in the global market in terms of cost and quality. Abstract: The present competitive market is focusing industrial efforts on producing high-quality products with the lowest possible cost. To help accomplish this objective, various quality improvement philosophies have been put forward in recent years and of these, TAGUCHI (DOE) is most viable and efficient technique for process quality improvement. This project illustrates the analysis of the various parameters in painting process by experimental design. For the analysis the painting process in steel structure is examined. In fabrication, the painting process constitutes the greatest portion of affecting quality, reprocessing process and impact on process cost. For Every industry to have their profit margin intact with their competitive edge in the market, production should be in such way that rejection and reprocessing should be minimum.
