Abstract: In this paper design for bottle filling technique has been presented. In this fast developing era there is huge demand for bottled things. So there is need to develop techniques which can be used for increasing the rate of bottle filling. There are many other methods used for filling of bottles but inline bottle filling machines are widely used. These inline filling machines can be used only where abundant linear space is available. Contradictory to this if rotating machines are used there will be reduction in the space required for bottle filling.

Abstract: The paper concise experimental study on performance of kerosene based pulse detonation engine where vapor kerosene and pre-heated air is utilized in achieving detonation. The objective of this current  work is to  achieve detonation  successfully  at  higher  frequencies  and also  its  corresponding  detonation  pressure, Jet thrust  measurements. Thrust calculations are done in two ways i.e., Root Mean Square value (RMS) value of thrust and head end pressure thrust. RMS value of thrust provides the average thrust exhibited by PDE for a given period.  Meanwhile, endeavoring thrust comparison between load cell thrust and head end pressure thrust. The  pulse  width  of  the  detonation  pressure  for  1Hz  is  analyzed.  Finally  the specific  impulse  of  the  current  PDE  is  investigated  with  the  current  available  air  breathing engines.

Abstract: Analysis of honeycomb sandwich payload adapter under equivalent axial compression load with secondary bonding for the reinforced hole is carried out based on CZM approach using tested fracture properties. For the structurally qualified design ultimate load, both post test NDT and CZM results, did not show the occurrence of any debonds. The parametric study shows that when the normal debond strength of the adhesive between the primary shell skin to secondary reinforcement around the hole reduces from the design configuration value of 20 MPa to a  very low value of 3MPa, incipient of debond occurs on the tensile region of the hole retaining almost the critical buckling capability. With 2MPa normal bond strength, the failure load reduces by 12.7% and with 1MPa; the failure load reduces by 37%. Present study establishes in bringing out the minimum bond strength required for a secondary bond around holes following an equivalent solid honeycomb core model.

Abstract: The latest trend in the automotive industry is to develop light weight vehicles. Every automotive industry is looking to reduce the weight of the vehicle as it helps in the better handling of the vehicle and increases the efficiency of the vehicle. Today, the heavy vehicles are known for producing a large amount of harmful gases like CO2, SO2 etc. which act as the major source for global warming. So research is going on to find a light weight vehicle which does not pollute the environment. One of the alternatives is the use of compressed air to generate power to run an automobile. Due to the unique and environmental friendly properties of air, it is considered as one of the future fuels which will run the vehicles. So in this paper an effort is made to study the extent of research done and the potential advantages and disadvantages of the compressed air technology. We propose the Air Driven Engine which is an eco-friendly engine that operates with compressed air. An Air Driven Engine uses the expansion of compressed air to drive the pistons of an engine An Air Driven Engine is a pneumatic actuator that creates useful work by expanding compressed air. There is no mixing of fuel with air as there is no combustion. An Air Driven Engine makes use of Compressed Air Technology for its operation The Compressed Air Technology is quite simple. If we compress normal air into a cylinder the air would hold some energy within it. This energy can be utilized for useful purposes. When this compressed air expands, the energy is released to do work. So this energy in compressed air can also be utilized to displace a piston.

Abstract: There are so many parameters effect on pump performance like impeller diameters, width, inlet outlet angles, and blades numbers, many conventional studies of centrifugal pump are largely used of empirical application of empirical rules along with the use of the available information in the form of different types of charts and graphs as proposed by successful designers. Generally all parameters effect on each other to improve the pump performance should study the relationship between the main parameters, we study the effect of outlet blade angle on the pump performance  by depended on the analytical methods, we calculate the major parameters for the require design (Q=1000 m3/h, H=40 m)  like output, input diameters , width, blade radius, inlet angle, slip factor ,theoretical head throw the range of outlet angles from 22 to 40 degrees after that calculate the efficiency for each angle and change blades numbers “2 to7” increase outlet angle mean the head, discharge, power consumption , increase the blades number mean increase the head and reduce the discharge area lead to increase the discharge . Therefore from all these parameters we find the best efficiency at angle 25o with six blades. Also we design a closed type impeller model by CATIA V5-6R2013 program depended on the calculation data and analysis the model by  ANSYS Workbench 14.5 structural and fluent analysis by use stainless steel metal, in the structural analysis applied the calculation torque 837 N.m on inside and the requirement pressure  4 bar  on the blades area the maximum stress appear on greave between the shaft and impeller, in the fluent applied on the impeller inlet the fluid water speed 2 m/s and atmosphere pressure then we calculated the distribution of pressure , velocity, velocity vector, wall shear and forces on impeller area.

Abstract: The use of Composite material in aircraft industries is booming now-a day to grab the advantage of high strength to weight ratio. These materials are used to build main components of aircraft like fuselage, panels, rudder, and skins. It is unavoidable to provide different size, shaped cu touts in such components for different purpose i.e., inspection, maintenance. The deformed behaviour on composite plate with different loading conditions has been explored by many researchers in last 2 decades. The presented project is an attempt to summarize the issue of critically examines the current status, problems and opportunities to use of composite in aircraft industries. The loading on the fiber and the behaviour of the fiber orientation due to that loading condition is studied and upon that best orientation is decided i.e.., stacking orientation [0,90]S.

Abstract: When a handgun bullet strikes body armour, it is caught in a ‘web’ of very strong fibers. These fibers absorb and disperse impact energy that is transmitted to the vest from the bullet causing the bullet to deform.  The project aims at studying various materials used in bullet proof jackets and to identify the best one based on directional deformation, total deformation, shear stresses and principal stresses when it is subjected to bullet impact. Ansys-14 is used for the analysis. Data obtained could be utilized for designing an optimized bullet proof jacket.

Abstract: Day by day there is increasing demand of refrigerating effect which increases the load on compressor. But sub cooling and superheating are the process used for getting maximum refrigerating effect, ultimately improve COP of the refrigerating system. 

Condenser plays an important role in any refrigeration system .it is use to remove heat from refrigerant vapour coming from compressor p-h and T-s diagrams clearly shows, the effect of sub cooling after condensate formation on COP. Now a day we are interested in improving COP of refrigeration system, without affecting compressor work. Sub cooling is one of the factors that can improve the COP of refrigeration system. Sub cooling is done in the condenser, thus condenser design is the key factor to improve the COP of domestic refrigerator.

Abstract: In many rural contexts of the developing world, agriculture residues and the organic fraction of waste are often burned in open-air to clear or just to dispose them. This is a common practice which generates uncontrolled emissions, while wasting a potential energy resource. In such context household energy supply is a further critical issue. Modern liquid fuel use is limited and traditional solid fuels (mainly wood) are used for daily cooking in rudimentary devices like 3-stone fires, resulting in low efficiency fuel use, huge health impacts, increasing exploitation stress for the local natural resources. Rice husk may be an alternative fuel to wood for household energy supply. In order to recover such a biomass. In an attempt to provide solution to the environmental pollution resulting from in discriminate dumping of by-product of rice mill. The machine can be employed to reduce environmental pollution by enhancing the process of burning of rice husk.

Abstract: There has been an increasing interest in composites containing low density and low cost reinforcements. So far most of the research work have been carried out by incorporating hard ceramic particles such as Al2O3, SiC, Flyash and graphite particles to soft matrix like pure aluminium A356, and many more alloys and very few worked on combination of reinforcements (hybrid composites). In the current work, an attempt has been made by combining two types of ceramic particles like flyash and silicon carbide in equal proportions for preparation of hybrid composites, which significantly improves the mechanical properties and wear properties of the Aluminum based MMCs.

Experiments have been conducted under laboratory condition to assess the mechanical characteristics of the aluminium FA/and SiC composite under different size particle conditions. This has been possible by fabricating the samples through usual stir casting technique. To enhance the mechanical properties the surfaces of the samples were studied under optical microscope to get an idea about the effect of particulate reinforcement on the micro structure behavior of the composite. Dispersion of FA and SiC particles in aluminium matrix A356 improves the hardness of the matrix material and also the mechanical behavior of the composite.

Dry sliding wear tests on a pin-on-disc apparatus show the resistance to wear increase with increasing FA and SiC content. The alloy exhibited higher wear and the composite with 15% wt fraction showed lower wear. A decrease in the coefficient of friction (µ) for both the alloy and composites was observed with increase in the applied load as well as reinforcement content.

Abstract: Earlier underground mining trucks weighed about 30-40 tons. As the time passed by weight of the underground mining trucks increased due to increase in operational capacity. Therefore the increased weight (50-60 tons) of today's underground mining trucks has introduced a tow bar failure problem encountered during field recovery operations. This problem is due to insufficient strength of the tow bar system currently used in the mining field. In this work design and analysis of a tow bar for recovering the disabled underground mining truck by a recovery vehicle from the mine field to the workshop or garage is carried out using commercially available software packages such as CATIA (V5R19), HYPERMESH (13), and NASTRAN (R9). The obtained software results are compared with the analytical results to validate the design. This newly designed tow bar system is capable of towing the new heavy underground mining trucks.

Abstract: Wear is the progressive damage, involving material loss, which occurs on the surface of a component as a result of its motion relative to the adjacent working parts; it is the almost inevitable companion of friction. Most tribological pairs are supplied with a lubricant as much to avoid the excessive wear and damage which would be present if the two surfaces were allowed to rub together in dry condition. The aim of this contribution is to assess the wear mechanisms of hot forging tool steels at various test temperature and also at different load conditions. The tribological tests are performed on a high temperature pin-on-disc tribometer in the laboratory. Experiments are carried out for varying load conditions & different test temperatures ranging 50ºC to 450ºC and wear mechanisms are investigated by this method.

Abstract: A hot runner system is an assembly of heated components used in plastic injection molds that inject molten plastic into the cavities of the mold. By contrast, a cold runner is simply a channel formed between the two halves of the mold, for the purpose of carrying plastic from the injection molding machine nozzle to the cavities. Each time the mold opens to eject the newly formed plastic parts; the material in the runner is ejected as well, resulting in waste. A hot runner system usually includes a heated manifold and a number of heated nozzles. The main task of the manifold is to distribute the plastic entering the mold to the various nozzles which then meter it precisely to the injection points in the cavities. Hot runner technology is continuing to experience a phase of intensive development brought about by the increasing demands of the plastics processing industry. This industry is faced with a need to meet the following requirements. In this thesis, the effect of material, pressure, temperature on hot runner nozzle assembly is investigated by ensuring proper nozzle design. Hot runner nozzle design considerations are calculated theoretically and Modelled in 3D. The 3D Model is then tested for deformation & stresses using Finite Element Analysis. Furthermore, DFMEA is done to check for failures in design of hot runner nozzle. A complete study on pin point gate type hot runner nozzle is done to reduce the cost, leakage due to wear between parts and to determine the stress analysis due to injection pressure.

Abstract: Today's most of materials are available in market but without composite they have low mechanical properties.  For good mechanical properties composite are very necessary. We know that increasing the use of aluminum alloy in aerospace, automobile and Infrastructure industries.  But due to low properties aluminum alloy not directly use some material reinforce. The presents study results of experimental investigation on mechanical behavior of silicon carbide particle reinforced aluminum matrix. The influence of reinforced ratio of 5%, 7%, and 9% of silicon carbide particles on mechanical behavior was examined. The effect of different weight percentage of silicon carbide in composite on Tensile strength, Hardness, Microstructure was studied. It was observed that the Hardness & Tensile strength of the composites increased with increasing reinforcement element addition in it. The distribution of silicon carbide particles was uniform in aluminum.
