Abstract: The latest innovation in the field of nanoscience demonstrate integration of nano architectonics with the Layer-by-Layer (LBL) technique. The LBL technique is leveraged in this study to perform thin film fabrication using poly (diallyl dimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA) and copper phthalocyanine-tetrasulfonic acid (CuTsPc). The deposition of PPDA/CuTsPc films over a glass substrate through alternate adsorption is studied in this research. Both manual and automated methods are examined to evaluate the efficiency of the LBL technique. Ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy and Atomic Force Microscopy are used to monitor the film deposition. The results indicate that this method is viable in terms of affordability and reproducibility even without exercising control over parameters such as pH and temperature.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to design and fabricate a plant pot making machine that uses wood chips as raw materials. This study is beneficial to the plant shop owners, community and future researchers. It promotes green earth by using waste wood chips as a medium for the plant pot. The researchers made a prototype that can demonstrate the process of how the plant pot is being produced. The researchers used the fundamental knowledge in machine design to select and evaluate the different materials as well as the force analysis of the whole machine. Hence, this study will be beneficial to the Mechanical Engineering Students of the Lyceum of the Philippines University-Cavite Campus.

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to produce a mechanical design approach for an environment-helping machine, a plastic-tile maker. Specifically, the types of plastic used are polyethylene terephthalate and polyethylene. These are used because they are commonly used and disposed in the environment. Engineering computations for the design details of the major components of the proto-type are involved, which is mainly focused on thermodynamics. To develop statements of conclusion, the study conducted a series of testing and evaluation for the isolation system and production. The best size that is made by the prototype is 4” by 4” and 6” by 6”.  The basis of evaluation of the product is by appearance, notches, and production rate. The study shows all the physical appearance of the rejected and accepted tile. As stated above, the research focuses mainly on the evaluation of the prototype’s final product. Since the study is focused mainly on mechanical application whereas it is recommended to apply more electronic enhancement for the prototype.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to give an idea to the Mechanical Engineering Students of the Lyceum of the Philippines University- Cavite on how the fatigue strength of a leaf spring is tested before it gets through the market. The researchers believe that the study will broaden the knowledge of mechanical engineering students about the behavior of a leaf spring on an actual service work. The researchers made a prototype that can demonstrate fatigue testing in the leaf spring and conducted the three sets of testing with three trials on each set to ensure the reliability of the equipment. The actual data gathered by setting the load and measuring the deflection of the using the prototype were compared to the theoretical data from the computation using the formulas from the book of Design of Machine Elements by Faires.  After the actual data and the theoretical data were gathered, the researchers got a percentage of error of 9.09%, 9.09% and 4.04% for the three trials. The percentage error gathered after conducting three trials are acceptable for a testing apparatus that will be used for educational purposes. Hence, it can be concluded that the prototype is reliable, and it can be used as a laboratory apparatus for the Mechanical Engineering students of LPU-C.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to give an idea to the Mechanical Engineering Students of the Lyceum of the Philippines University- Cavite on how a Hydroelectric Powerplant works. The researchers believe that the study will broaden the knowledge of mechanical engineering students about theories and main components involving in a hydroelectric powerplant. The researchers made a prototype that can demonstrate the process in a hydroelectric powerplant. The actual data is gathered by turning valve that controls the flowrate of the prototype. After the actual data is gathered the researchers will see if the desired objectives of prototype are met. Hence, the prototype can be used as a demonstrating apparatus for Mechanical Engineering students of LPU-C.

Abstract: Electrical Discharge Machine Die Sink is used to do subtractive machining especially on hardened materials like molds and such. The machine has plenty of process parameters that can be adjusted and balanced to achieve desired machining result. The study focuses on how these parameters can affect the material removal rate. The process parameters namely, machining current in low and high voltages, arc, machining gap and duration. The combination of the process parameters mentioned can affect the material removal rate by increasing it or decreasing its outcome. The machine used to collect data was a CHMER CM240 50MP.  The collection of method is by removal of process parameter setting which yielded the least desired result, this is to improve data collection and cost management. The materials used in the study is an AISI 4340 for the workpiece and copper electrode for the tool. The top result of the experimentation was then cross examined to produce a more conclusive outcome. The applicability of the study to existing electrical discharge machine die sink can be seen from the statistical analysis and its ease of usage to actual working conditions.

Abstract: A heat exchanger is a device used to transfer energy from between two fluids, from a fluid and surface of solid, or from a fluid and particulates of solid, at distinctive temperatures and which are in thermal contact. Double pipe is general type of heat exchanger used in chemical Industries and especially where the heat transfer requirement is minimum. The most usual problem faced in the heat exchanger is the corrosion and fouling due the fluids flowing in the pipes. Nickel is highly resistive to corrosion and fouling in the heat exchangers which increases the thermal efficiency of the heat exchanger.

The aim is to study the heat transfer of Nickel and Titanium Double Pipe Heat exchanger by Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Using ANSYS 18.1 software by plotting temperature, Velocity contours from CFD Analysis. CFD is the very useful technique to simulate the heat transfer of the heat exchangers. It will predict the heat transfer of the heat exchangers without building the prototype, hence it reduces the cost, time etc. The results obtained from the CFD analysis is compared with the theoretical formulas of the heat transfer to validate the accuracy of the results.

 Abstract: The structure of an airframe speaks to probably the best case of a base weight design in the field of auxiliary building. Shockingly such a proficient design is accomplished by the utilization of basic "strength of-material" approach. Airplane has two significant parts, which are fuselage and wing. For a wing of an airplane the essential burden conveying capacity is required in bowing. A regular aluminum material 7075-T6 is picked for the design. A four-seater airplane wing spar design is considered in the flow study. In the present task the spar is considered as a pillar with discrete burdens at various stations. The design is done according to the outer bowing minute at each station. A limited component approach is utilized to ascertain the burdens created at each station for a given twisting minute. A few pressure analysis emphases are completed for design improvement of the spar bar. Straight static analysis is utilized for the pressure analysis.
