Abstracts: The aim of this paper is to study the effect of hot forging temperature at various stages of micro alloy Steel 30MnSiVS6,numbers of trials conducted in forging industry to understand the combine effect of Temp, Control cooling arrangements ( Fast cooling , Slow cooling ) & effect of chemistry on hardness and tensile, by end of this trials we know the Chemistry of Steel raw material play vital role to increase and decrease of hardness or tensile i.e mechanical property control cooling effect is not much important.

Abstract: Vertical Axis Wind Turbine(VAWT) is used to generating electric power. This paper studies modal analysis of savonius vertical axis wind turbine systems. The efficiency of the wind turbine depends on the material, shape and angle of the blade. So material plays important role in the design of wind turbine. In this paper, Stainless Steel material has been used to design wind blades of 1000 mm height and 500 mm chord length with 4 different arc radius.

For this purpose, CAD modeling software Solid Works is used to model wind blade and modal analysis of the Stainless Steel blade was done by using ANSYS. Modal analysis is used to determine the response of structure for dynamic loading. It is used to determine the natural frequency and mode shape of vibration of any structure.

Abstract: With the advent of numerically controlled machine tools, the demand has grown for some means to support this equipment. There has been growing need to have an apparatus that can do faster first piece inspection and many times, 100% dimensional inspection. The Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) plays a vital role in the mechanization of the inspection process. Some of the CMMs can even be used as layout machines before machining and for checking feature locations after machining. Coordinate measuring machines are relatively recent developments in measurement technology. Basically, they consist of a platform on which the work piece being measured is placed and moved linearly or rotated. A probe attached to a head capable of lateral and vertical movements records all measurements. Coordinate measuring machines are also called measuring machines. They are versatile in their capability to record measurement of complex profiles with high sensitivity (0.25 m) and speed. In this unit, we will discuss the principle and the working of a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).

Abstract: Vegetable oils are a potential alternative to partial or total substitution of diesel fuels. In this study, we used Acetone as an additive to investigate the possible use of increased percentages of biodiesel in diesel engine without any retrofitting. In this study, performance tests were carried out on diesel engine with neat diesel fuel and biodiesel mixture. Biodiesel was made by transesterification process. Karanja oil was selected for biodiesel production. Number 2 diesel fuel containing 30% biodiesel and 70% diesel fuel, is called here as B30. The effects of Acetone, blended with B30 in 4, 8, 12 % by volume were used in a single cylinder, four strokes direct injection diesel engine. The effect of test fuels on engine torque, power, brake specific fuel consumption, brake thermal efficiency, exhaust gas temperature, were ascertained by performance tests. The influence of blends on CO, CO2, HC, NO and smoke opacity were evaluated by emission tests. The experimental results showed that the exhaust emissions were fairly reduced for 12% Acetone with B30; especially the NO is reduced remarkably by 48% while comparing diesel operation.

Abstract: In this era of mass manufacturing MRR (material removal rate) is of prime concern even in manufacturing using CNC machines. The main objective of today’s modern manufacturing industries is to produce low cost and high quality product in short time. In order to improve the quality and to reduce the cost material removal rate should be optimum. In machining accurate dimensions is desired but with good product quality. The experimental study aims to investigate MRR and surface roughness as quality targets by taking feed, depth of cut & speed into consideration for turning of MONEL 400 employing Taguchi method. An optimal parameter combination of the turning operation was obtained via Taguchi method. The result of this analysis identifies the optimal values of process parameters for effective and efficient machining. The result indicates that the determined optimal combination of machining parameters improved the performance of the machining process. The predicted results are found to be closer to experimental results.
