Abstract: Animal for a long time has been categorized either as wild or domestic. The wild animals are confined to zoo most of the time in civilized countries when captured while some uncivilized countries substitute the captured wild animals for meat. To some extent the wild animals do not intrude the restricted areas. By instinct, they maintain their territories. But the domesticated animals play the reverse as they are let loose under the free-range system where they are allowed to go from one place to another without control, and these animals, sooner or later become habituated to most of the frightening devices, techniques, and methods put in place to scare them because of inadaptability of the frightening devices to the behavioral changes exhibited by the animals. This has been a great challenge to animal detection and recognition system developmental efforts. Having studied previous works on animal behavior and frightening system, it is the objective of this paper to present an overview of adaptive frightening system as reliable frightening method to the behavioral changes exhibited by animal, having motivated by the limitations of the past efforts and opportunity to improve on the existing frightening methods. It was discovered that most works are left as future work due to the fact that adaptive frightening device is species specific making it difficult for the adaptive frightening device to adapt to the behavioral changes exhibited by the unspecified species as it is not easy to design one-fit-all animal behavioral adaptive frightening system.

Title: AN OVERVIEW OF ANIMAL BEHAVIORAL ADAPTIVE FRIGHTENING SYSTEM

Abstract: The study was initiated to investigate variability and change in Global Solar Radiation (GSR) penetration from climate change. Based on the meteorological data at Ile-Ife, Nigeria which is more detailed than for other stations the relations between measured GSR and other key meteorological variables namely, temperature, relative humidity, rainfall, and wind speed were established. Cross-correlation analyses methods were employed in establishing the relationship between global solar radiation and other meteorological variables influencing GSR variability. The correlation coefficient (r) between two variables, say   and   were established from the expression:  The plots show that GSR has negative correlation with RH (r=0.4) and, a positive but low correlation (r=0.17) with rain. With the case of wind speed, the mode of correlation (r=0.12) appears complex. While there appears to be some positive pattern of correlation from January to August, this is reversed during the period September to December. The correlation of annual mean data for the period 2005 to 2010 shows the annual trends and associated correlations between GSR and RH, rain and wind speed during the period 2004 and 2011. The results in general show higher correlations than during the annual cycle.

Abstract: Petroleum production and export play a dominant role in Nigeria's economy and account for about 90% of her gross earnings. This dominant role has pushed agriculture, the traditional mainstay of the economy, from the early fifties and sixties, to the background. In this research work we fitted a univariate Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average model  (SARIMA) to the monthly crude oil production in Nigeria between 2002 and 2016. Different Box-Jenskin Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) models are fitted and diagnosed. However, ARIMA (2,1,0)(2,1,1)12 was the best model for the data. The model was further validated and it was discovered that autocorrelation between residuals at different lag times was not significant. Finally, the time plot of the in-sample forecast errors shows that the variance of the forecast errors seems to be roughly constant over time and the histogram of the time series shows that the forecast errors are roughly normally distributed and the mean seems to be close to zero, it seems plausible that the forecast errors are normally distributed with mean zero and constant variance.

Abstract: Background extraction is a crucial step in many automatic video content analysis applications. In this articled, we recommend a new tracking method that uses two image sequences and single Gaussian method to approach the tracking of an object. The two image sequence is the use of a series image subtraction. The single Gaussian method consists of single Gaussian distributions, the average, standard deviation and weight. This paper combined the single Gaussian method and two image sequence object tracking. The proposed method was compared with different methods used in the field; the comparison clearly shows that the method is reliable, quickly and precise. This method has the advantage that it is fast and successfully tracks the objects and extract’s background image, also no shadow and noise was associated with the application for the approach. Empirical work shows that our method is enhanced relatively to the other widely used techniques.

Abstract: In thermal reactors, the spatial change of thermal neutron flux (TNF) is significant. A non-uniform TNF distribution is unfavorable, since it results in non-uniform burn-up of the fuel rods. This problem may be eased by using a reflector surrounding the reactor.  Neutron Activation Analysis (NAA) have been used to measure TNF. The activation cross section of dysprosium is very large and the activity of such material is proportional to the TNF. Therefore, the induced activity values can be directly used to represent the relative thermal flux distribution. Furthermore identical experimental conditions (i.e.: identical volume of sample, identical irradiation time, etc.) are provided by using a wire sample. In this work a rare application of NAA is made by using a Dy-Al alloy wire. The wire is placed vertically in the core. Special arrangement is made in measuring the induced activity of the wire taken into account decay during measurement. Finally the so called refractor saving is approximated.

Abstract: Charge transport, with charge carrier mobility as main parameter, is one of the fundamental properties of semiconductors. In disordered systems like most organic semiconductors, the effective mobility is a function of the electric field, the charge carrier density, and temperature. Transport is often investigated in a space-charge limited current (SCLC) regime in thin film single carrier devices, where an electric current is driven in the direction perpendicular to the surface. Direct evaluation of the current–voltage characteristics, however, is problematic, because parasitic contributions from injection or extraction barriers can falsify results.[1] Understanding and modeling charge transport in conjugated polymers is crucial to optimize the performance of organic semiconductor devices such as light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), field-effect transistors (OFETs) and solar cells[2]. The charge-carrier mobility is the major determining factor for the speed of electronic devices. Arguably, the most significant of them is the challenge to achieve a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of charge injection and charge transport in organics [3]. In the present work, analytical models are developed for bilayer devices in particular, which reveals the dependence of current, efficiency etc. on various device parameters.

Abstract: In this paper, the differential transform method is employed to construct the exact solution for systems of ordinary differential equations. It has been observed that the proposed method is very efficient and reliable for the solution of systems of ordinary differential equations. Numerical results represent the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed method.The differential transformation method (DTM) is used to compute an approximation to the solution of the systems of ordinary differential equations. The results are compared with the results obtained by different numerical methods. Some plots are presented to show the reliability and simplicity of the method.

Abstract: A perfect square is a number that can be expressed as the product of two equal integer, hence the square root of a perfect square gives two equal integers.

In this study, we introduce a new method for finding the square root of a 2x2 matrix using one of the property of determinant that states that if a matrix C is obtained from a matrix A by multiplying it with matrix B of the same order, the determinant of C is the product of the determinants of A and B.

That is if we have a matrix C such that A.B = C, then the above statement can be written as;

                ∆_C = ∆_A . ∆_B

But in this case ∆_A = ∆_B, so ∆_C = ∆_A².

Abstract: The stratigraphy and paelodepositional environment of the Ajaka area were analysed using a detailed study of outcrops. Results show that two major lithostratigraphic units outcrop in the area; dominantly conglomerate unit which can be subdivided into the paraconglomerate and the orthoconglomerate subunits, and the massive sandstone unit. The paraconglomerate consist of matrix-supported, sub rounded to rounded and poorly sorted conglomerate. The paraconglomerate facies is interpreted to have been deposited in a debris flow based on its poor sorting, absence of stratification and lack of fossil. The orthoconglomerate facies are clast-supported, subrounded to rounded, poorly sorted and contain quartz and feldspar. Such framework-support rock that suggests transportation by rolling and accretion of clast along bed. The matrix of very coarse sandstone is thought to have been transported in suspension simultaneously with bed-load rolling of the large clasts. The graded bedding of this facies indicates deposition from a single current as the energy and flow strength diminished.  The massive sandstone facies consists of fine-to-coarse grained massive sandstone. The sand grains are angular to subrounded and poorly to moderately sorted. This facies is interpreted to have formed as a result of transport and deposition by short-lived mass flows. Indications from pebble analysis show that the pebbles of the study area were essentially shaped by fluvial process. Sieve analysis of sand-size particles indicates that the sandstone is largely fluvial deposits. The palynological analysis, indicate the presence of Retidiporites miniporatus, Hexaporotricolpites emelianova and Buttinia andreevi, which all are indicative of the Maastrichtian age bracket in the geological time scale. This evidence thus suggests that the outcrops of Ajaka and environs are Maastrichtian in age.

Abstract: The study takes into account temperature dependent viscosity and thermal conductivity as well as induced magnetic field in describing the fluid flow .The partial differential equations governing the unsteady flow is transformed to a system of non-linear ordinary differential equations by similarity transformation. The transformed differential equations are solved by collocation method. The numerical results for the flow variables: velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are displayed graphically for several parameters and discussed in details. The effect of physical parameters such as: Skin friction, Nusselt number, Sherwood number and thermophoresis particle deposition are also tabulated. The results shows that the increasing values of positive variable viscosity parameter increases the velocity, temperature, concentration and decreases all the four stated physical parameters .For the decreasing values of negative variable viscosity parameter all the three flow variables decreases while all the physical parameters increases.
