Abstract: The study tries to examine whether ‘interpretive communities’ can be defined or explained on the basis of age, gender, class, caste, race, and education. It also tends to find out how audiences shift between different interpretive communities as they shape their life style by understanding the texts.
The research paper tries to study the soap opera audience and the formation of ‘interpretive communities’. The study attempts to find out the relationship between the audience and soap opera texts and how audiences construct meaning out of these texts within the context of family and everyday life.
The study also tries to find out how soap operas by using the institutions like marriage, family, and religion represent women, men and the power of relationships and also their interpretation by audience.
It also looks at how audiences with similar social, political and economic structure vary in their interpretation of these medium or texts. Lastly, the study concludes with the finding that women can sometimes form an interpretive community on the basis of their socio-cultural inclination.

Abstract: One of the modern extra-linguistic theories of literature is the Psychoanalytical Criticism. The relationship of psychoanalysis to literature has undergone many changes from Freud to modern psychoanalysts like Norman Holland and Jacques Lacan. This paper looks at the application of psychoanalysis to The Asylum by Ahmed Parker Yerima, a playwright who was a former Director of the Nigerian National Troupe and one of the second generations of Nigerian playwrights. The paper starts by taking an exploration into the application of psychoanalysis from the time of Freud to the modern psychoanalysts. Next, the paper looks at the theme of detention and its effects on detainees as well as the author. The paper then concludes that the play is a study in psychoanalysis as Yerima’s condemnation of the penchant for unjust detention in many African states, especially Nigeria, is a means of externalizing his innermost feelings. This lends credence to the psychoanalytical belief that the creative work is the author’s dream while the author is the main character.

Abstract: The purpose of this this research project is to apply principal component analysis technique for qualification and quantification of the contribution of key foreign exchange earners in Rwanda (1999-2013). This research project provides details of principal component analysis method that helps researcher to restructure data sets specifically by reducing the number of variables. Such an approach is often called “Principal Component Analysis” or sometimes a “data reduction” or “dimensionality reduction” technique. This means that we start off with a set of variables, let say twenty; these appear to be too many variables to deal with, which in practice renders any economic forecasting alongside statistical analysis difficult if not accurate. Therefore, applying principal component analysis, this research aims at transforming a set of corrected variables into a set of uncorrected variables without any loss of information. By the end of the process we have measured the proportion of variance attributed to each eigenvalue produced associated with corresponding principal component and then interpret the PCs and finally predicted the scores. As Rwanda exports many products to international markets, it is important to qualify and quantify the contribution of each product to the reserves of foreign exchanges of Rwanda; which was the purpose of research project. On the basis of the research results, it was concluded that some products (cassiterite, coltan, wolframite and coffee) have significantly contributed on the reserves of foreign exchanges in Rwanda. Hence, it is for the Government, Private Sector or Stakeholders to allocate more funds to these to operate and produce more.

Abstract: Uniqueness is the most beautiful thing of the God’s creation. All the species are unique and their own ecosystem. We can’t make each one identical but we can identify the differences among them. As we all know, India is an old civilized and heritage country, has unique education system from ascent times. After independence India divided into different states and gave autonomy (to make its own curriculum) to give education in the state’s pupils. So we have state boards (GSEB, HSEB, BSEB, etc.) And central boards (ICSE and CBSE). All boards have their own text books and their own syllabuses for different subject. All the students follow their board syllabus but after completion of 10th standard, the syllabus of all the boards is almost same, which becomes difficult to cope up with for some students where as it is comparatively easy for students of other boards. The development of any nation depends on proper planning of its manpower. In present times it is necessary to measure powers of an individual and to guide him properly. The power of head, hand and heart of an individual should be measured properly. We can have a rough idea of their powers throw their educational achievements and our own observations. Thus various types of tests are necessary.

Abstract: This research has been conducted and accomplished in Thailand, based on touristic affluence faced by the country. According to the world’s top international tourism earners (2013), Thailand is eighteenth on the list of most popular international tourist destinations, and ranks fifteenth on international earning tourism with the receipts of 7.7 billion and 124 million per capita receipts. The country being in constant development, the tourism industry plays a very big role in the Thailand economy: to meet the needs of the tourists and their satisfaction, there is a growing number of tour guard ,hotels and restaurant in almost every corner of cities, and touristic sites were rebuild and developed to attract customers and entertain them. Due to the growing number of tourist, we have seen also a shift on price of products and services and research have been done by interviews and questionnaire, and based on different results and answers collected from the foreigners and local population, does the affluence of tourist have an impact on the product prices and the local’s residents?
Based on the answers collected, we came to the fact that the reason of price shifting is the result of growing demands due to the fact that the population is increasing: Thailand has 64 million of people and the affluence of other people in the country push the demand curve to shift to its higher level to meet the production. Another fact of the increasing price is that to satisfy the needs of tourist, the country is pushed to import many products to make the customer feel like home, and of course with the tax and the difference between currencies, the product will be overpriced. Last in the list we have discovered also that the power of buying of the tourist is high due to the fact that the product fit with their budget, also their standard of living in their country is higher than the one in Thailand and they demand better security and comfort for what they pay for. And as we further pursue our research, we found out also that tourism affect the local population a lot through the environment, social-cultural and economic related factors.

Abstract: The woman is a significant figure in the development of Avatime community. People of Avatime recognize and value the role of women in society and therefore mark the transition of a female from girlhood to womanhood. The problem is that educational values are rooted in the celebration of this transition called kusakͻkͻ initiation rites, yet they have not been described, discussed or documented, therefore they could be lost. Moreover, considerable amounts of vital educational information embodied in kusakͻkͻ initiation rites are not being taught in the schools of Avatime. Sadly, the rich cultural heritage of educational values which should be preserved have not been documented to put the area in the spotlight of the world. It was imperative to identify, describe and discuss effectively the educational values of kusakͻkͻ initiation rites of Avatime as a resource material for art education. The study will give exposure of a very important cultural activity and the dynamism of indigenous cultural practices that are hidden in this special initiation rites. This research adopted a qualitative approach, specifically ethnography, to collect data through observation and interviews. The main findings are that, the Avatimes mark the passage of their girls into womanhood by performing series of rituals known as kusakͻkͻ as educational values are evident in the rituals. The educational values include Morals (eboegbᾶ), Gratitude (dasedodo), Respect (kunͻbuo), Religious Values (Kusͻliͻ) Motherhood (obinee), Protection, Manners (Ligbazeze gba), Beauty (kupedi), Cleanliness, (kudradra), Punctuality or Time values (ͻnyͻaʋakugaga), Diligence, (Kubuete), Endurance, Treasures (eɣola)
Recommendations were that there should be collaboration between the pastors and the custodians of Avatime traditional area to erase the notion that there are sacrilegious beliefs and superstitions embedded in kusakͻkͻ rites. Control measures should be instituted to curb promiscuity in the area. Finally, it is highly recommended that this document should be incorporated in the Educational Curriculum to put the values of kusakͻkͻ in the spotlight of the world.
