Abstract: This article focuses upon the impact of globalization on the economy of our country and whether foreign investment in every sector is going to give a positive result or not. After globalization, India has achieved a lot and gained in almost all the sectors. It has attracted a large amount of FDI. All the developed countries are interested to keep economic relationship with India as economic globalization plays a major role in shaping the country’s future. Many big companies want to invest in India. We can take the example of steel plants in India. Indian market has a huge potential in terms of steel consumption. Government of India also wants to establish steel plants all over the country seeing the potential of the Indian market. Among other big projects, POSCO steel is a big and ambitious project of the government. POSCO is mainly a South Korean company who has a lot of joint ventures in other countries. If the project is worked properly, India can be an economically progressive country. Seeing the steel production in India, POSCO proposed to build a 12 million ton steel project in Paradeep, Odisha in 2005.it slated to start production in 2010. The project would fetch revenue up to 7 to 8 billion annually for the Indian government and provide direct and indirect employment to almost 50,000 people. But due to strong opposition from the localities the project has not been able to proceed. The land acquisition process is still under controversy. Only time will tell whether this project is only become a controversy or a solution for shaping the future of the country.

Abstract: This article has laid emphasis on how digitization has changed everything in the current scenario. It is the process in which every information is converted into a digital format. Digitising information makes it easier to preserve and access the data within a lesser period of time. After 1991, as India entered into the global market, information technology progressively changed India’s image in world market. It made the software sector one of the high value added industries and created an unimaginable demand of information technology. The vision of making digital India is wide. It includes digital learning, mobile healthcare, making financial transactions electronic and cashless and many other ideas and thoughts. Though India has developed in software sector, still it is comparatively lower than many other developing countries. So it is very much necessary that our country should be digitally empowered. In this context, the steps taken by government of India to transform our country into a digitally empowered knowledge economy are highly appreciative. If the plans are executed properly, with the help of talent and technology, India will gain a lot in the coming decade.

Abstract: This primary research, “A case study of student perceptions of Task-Based and Presentation-Practice-Production Approaches to learning grammar”, offers a critical investigation of the two approaches with specific reference to a study of student perceptions through lessons based on their theoretical principles. The attention of this study was on the student attitudes towards the two approaches in a Thai context. The subjects were male students studying a secondary school level in a Thai boy boarding school, where student centered is promoted and employed through the teaching of all subjects and activities. This study suggests interesting insights of how TESOL Methods and Methodologies could be employed in the present-day English classrooms, which would give contributive applications for creating new dimensions of English Language Learning for learners of the new Thai generations and in other applicable EFL learning environments.

Abstract: Due to the paradigm shift from ‘Teaching as service’ to ‘Teaching as Profession’ educational administrators boggled their minds for finding ways and means to ensure accountability of the teachers by assessing their performances so as to enhance the quality of the educational process as well as product at all the levels of education. In the recent development into evaluation of teaching performance at the Higher education level in India, the University Grants Commission (UGC) had came with Performance based Appraisal System (PBAS) using the Academic Performance Indicators (API) in 2009. The subsequent amendments in these regulations came in 2013, 2014 and 2016 were adding more to such mechanism for making this system of appraisal more comprehensive, simple and practical. The threefold function of a Teacher at the higher Education level can be summarizing in three words, Teaching, Research and Extension. The present study focuses on the first and most important function of the teacher called teaching. How a teacher is performing in a classroom? How students see his/her performance? How the teacher’s peer, him/herself and head of institution sees to his performance? Do the feedbacks by these stakeholder assessors improve his/her performance in a classroom? etc, are some of the basic questions which researcher tried to give justifiable answers through present study.

Abstract: This study aimed to determine the flood disaster management practices of teachers and pupils in public elementary schools from selected flood-prone areas of Zambales during the School Year 2015-2016.
This research is quantitative in nature which utilized a descriptive research design with survey questionnaire as the primary method used in gathering data and information from seventeen (17) teachers and two hundred thirty two (232) pupils sourced from public elementary schools situated in flood-prone areas in Zambales, Philippines.
The pupil-respondents indicate that the most important practice during disasters is to see to it that each members of the family has a bag pack to be used for personal and individual belongings in case of emergency. The teacher-respondents indicate that the most important practice is participating in disaster risk reduction training and orientation in school as conducted by local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council/institution/barangay to avoid bad effects of calamity, participating in actual drill and encourage all family members to participate, planning and familiarizing all possible routes to “safe areas” or evacuation centers” during calamity, becoming aware and updating oneself of the first-aid procedures and search and rescue trainings, installing electrical outlet if possible at higher level of walls, securing flood materials such as raincoat, pair of boots, life-vest, life-saver or raft, ropes, first aid kits, flashlights, batteries , radio, etc., securing emergency money or cash and making plan on flood management to prevent severe effects of the disaster. This study found out that teachers always practiced keeping oneself calm while waiting for relief and rescue and assistance and eating only well cooked foods and securing leftovers from contamination during flood while pupil-respondents indicate that during floods, crossing or submerging into flood waters should be avoided and eating only well-cooked food and protect leftovers against contamination were always practiced by the students. There is a significant difference on the practices of the pupil-respondents on adaptation and mitigation before the flood when grouped according to family monthly income profile variable of which pupils who belong to families with low income are mostly affected and sex profile variable on adaptation and mitigation during the flood. However, between the general emergency preparedness, and the adaptation and mitigation management practices before, during and after the flood, the pupil-respondents practiced with moderate relationship while teacher-respondents exhibited very high relationship in terms of practice. Based on the summary of the investigations conducted and the conclusions arrived at, the researcher offers to conduct risk reduction trainings, seminars and orientations in the school that would educate and disseminate vital knowledge and awareness.

Abstract: France has a mode of national belonging that emphasizes the Universalist values of the French republicanism inscribed by the French revolution. This claim to a universal and secular French citizenship that confounds ethnic and racial particularity has enabled France to maintain a seemingly distinct national tradition and distinguish its model of citizenship from those of other European nation-states. However, political, social, economic and cultural transformations that France has witnessed since World War II expose some key limitations in the Universalist ideology of French republicanism. In this article I will argue that, contrary to the republican claim to universal “citizen” defined primarily in the realm of the legal and political, the provision of French citizenship has operated along strict lines of race and ethnicity. Integration in France is equated with socialization and assimilation while patterns of implementing the secular law favored more “normative” and “mainstream” ethno-religious expressions in the public space.
