Abstract: The study aimed at to find out different causes of students’ absenteeism and the solution to optimize it through various school tardy policies. The School chosen for the study is located in the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The total Enrolment is more than 2500 in which the late comers of the school is analyzed and tried to find the solution for it. The result of this study showed those students are more absent or late comer during the first three months after the summer vacation. Later the late comers gradually decreases but again increases during the last two months of the academic year. After analyzing the data some policies had been adopted and again the data was collected and analyzed to find the change which reveals a good change in the late comers due to tardy policy. At last some suggestions have given to tackle the school tardiness.

Abstract: The present paper is an attempt to examine relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement of expatriate students. Students in higher educational institutions are viewed as leaders of tomorrow and are expected to perform multi roles with efficiency and effectiveness. It is essential to develop a right attitude and be equipped with emotional intelligence to handle the complexities of life and quality education. The data were analyzed. The findings of the study reveal positive relationship between emotional intelligence and academic achievement among expatriate students. The study also reveals that students with high and low academic achievement motivation differ from one another on emotional intelligence.

Abstract: Disaster Management is the term which is recently popular in India. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has been constituted under the Disaster Management Act 2005, with the Prime Minister of India as its Chairman. The Government urges the importance of disaster management strongly and advised all the Academic Staff Colleges to conduct a Refresher Course on disaster management. In this context, it is essential to analyze the awareness about natural disasters and the management of disasters among the teachers of higher education. A questionnaire was administered among the University and College teachers and their answers were analyzed and computed. This study shows that the awareness about disaster management should be improved among the teachers of higher education. It also reveals that both the male and female teachers should be given in-service training in general awareness, activities and administration related to disaster management.

Abstract: This paper investigates the various challenges people face in their quest to access water for domestic use. Three communities were randomly selected in the Ga West Municipality in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. Questionnaires were administered to 246 households and 29 respondents were interviewed from water supply companies and other opinion leaders. Issues investigated included the main sources of domestic water, distance from the source of water to the home, mode of transporting water to the home and the cost involved in the purchasing of water. The results show that the major challenges in accessing water in the district were distance from the home to the water source, monetary cost of water which was considered expensive, and the mode of transportation which was mainly head-porterage. It is recommended that households harvest rainwater in larger quantities and invest in large storage tanks into which water could be stored for use.

Abstract: Clear associations exist between religion and the sexual double standard. In this study, the author examined a small liberal arts college with 316 respondents on their self reported answers to being religious, views on men and women’s sexual desires, and men and women viewed differently upon their sexual desires. The findings clearly present that there is a positive correlation between religion and the sexual double standard.

Abstract: This thesis has attached importance to Herzog’s suffering from the intellectual crisis. First, it has points out that the historical and cultural circumstances condition the self of Herzog in the grip of modern society. Secondly, it holds that Herzog suffers intellectual crisis. He feels void from modern society and thinks he can intellectually resolve all of the complex issues of his age or at least control his situation, solely through an intellectual awareness of it. But neither can he resolve the problem, nor can he control his situation. Moreover, the thesis illustrates the folly of Herzog’s grasping at lofty ideas to avoid coping with his own practical problems. Finally, this chapter finds that Herzog is in socially induced disintegration. While Herzog has a conviction that if he submits himself to the demands society imposes on him, he will lose his identity and will be reduced to fraction, which pits him against the external world and people he is in contact with. He stands away from the crowd. By repulsing the socially prescribed values, he is in turn rejected by the crowd. He is a self in a situation, where others provide no support to himself. Herzog has no self object support.

Abstract: The CAPART works with the objective of improving quality of life in rural areas, particularly that of the poor and socially disadvantaged sections of the society. People below the poverty line, people belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Schedule Tribes, bonded labor, women and people with disabilities are priority focus groups for the CAPART. In pursuit of these goals, the CAPART provides financial assistance and resource support to voluntary organizations in conceptualizing, developing and implementing a wide range of projects and development Interventions. The CAPART receives bulk of its funds from Government of India. The CAPART also work in partnership with International donors to facilitate routing of funds to voluntary organizations working for rural development. An attempt has been made here to analyze the role of CAPART   for the development of rural India in this paper.

Abstract: Our review of the literature revealed that two types of health status measures, which we classify as direct and indirect, appear to meet the criteria stated above. Whereas health status is measured in terms of the respondents' functional capacity, illness level, or perceived level of health in the direct measures, health status is inferred from the level of use of health service or expenditures for care in the indirect measures. This article is based on indirect measures, e.g. Expenditure on public health, Per capita expenditure, Public health expenditure share in G.D.P. and S.D.P. I found that the Expenditure on public health percent ratio is very low to G.D.P. India along with every States. This is strong reason for poor public health condition of India, Chhattisgarh and other major states, and poor public health condition is reason of low growth rate of economy. So each government should increase public health expenditure percent in G.D.P.

Abstract: Handlooms have been known to India right from the historic ages. Basic needs of the human being are the food, clothes and shelter. This study explores the dynamics of local-level trade in plant-based handloom product in kallidaikurichi of Tirunelveli District. The handloom weaving sector plays an important role in the economic development of the rural areas. It contributes significantly by generating more employment opportunities and providing bread to the rural poor. In the present study, we have analyzed the socio-economic profile handloom weavers in kallidaikurichi of Tirunelveli District. This study is based on both primary and secondary data sources. The study results revealed that the situation of the weavers was worrying due to illiteracy, financial constraints, health problems, and poor Government support.

Abstract: The article reports about the selection of the morality – humanity values of the students of the universities in Ho Chi Minh City – Vietnam now. Vietnam students still recognize the value of the most morality – humanity values is important but some values that many students have not been choose to live style orientation for the students, such as: the environment respect, the cooperation and friendship, respecting the human and nation culture. The selected values are flat without the prominent one. Comparing on aspects such as: gender, years of study, discipline, the selection of the morality – humanity values of the students of the universities in Ho Chi Minh City – Vietnam now doesn’t show the clear difference.

Abstract: The influence of affective variables on language learning production is acknowledged by researchers and language scholars. They filter the amount of input into the language acquisition device. As one of the most important affective variables, anxiety is a significant predictor in EFL learning attainment. This paper investigates the factors that contribute the most in provoking general FL classroom anxiety from the perspective of Arab postgraduate students in UKM. The sample study consisted of thirty four postgraduate Arab students majoring in English. The FLCAS (Foreign Language Classroom Anxiety Scale) as well as focus group interviews were employed to collect the required data. The statistical package of SPSS version 16 was used to analyse data. Results of the study suggested that test anxiety, fear of failing the course, instructor-learner interaction, vocabulary, negative evaluation, and high expectations were factors that provoked the general FL classroom anxiety the most. Investigating the factors of classroom anxiety could help the teachers and lecturers substantially in generating a worry-free educational environment, and consequently lead to fruitful learning outcomes.

Abstract: There is need in all fairness to lawfully protect local population, more so, there is need for a country or organization to operationalize diversity of thought in order to exploit human capital. A revisit of the remark ‘British workers for British jobs’ made by the former Prime Minister, Gordon Brown of the United Kingdom in 2007 impugned the capacity of diversity as a new frontier to economic growth. With the obvious reasons that foreign workers were displacing the workforce of the local population. This article argues that since then, the government has gone a long way to imbibe the principles of new diversity as a new economic frontier to greatness. The method of multidisciplinary approach in comparative perspective is adopted in order to elucidate the journalistic comments, arguments, statements made as rejoinders and published in some online national British media.

Abstract: The present paper is an attempt to study state of primary education in Punjab. This paper is based on 2001 census and 2011 census. Paper also include the analyses of number of primary schools in Punjab, number of primary school students, number of primary schools teacher in Punjab and teacher pupil ratio for the year 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 2000, 2001 and 2011. this paper conclude literacy rate in Punjab increased to 76.7% as per 2011 census out of which maximum literacy rate have been found in the district Hoshiarpur and the lowest was found in district Mansa. Male-female literacy rate shows an improvement sign. Sex ratio was also improved in all the districts but it was maximum in the district Rupnagar. The percentage share of girl’s students in total students in primary schools of Punjab is almost stable over the considered years. The number of schools of girls also showing very less which means we need to work out education policy which pay more attention for better performance of girls in Punjab.
