Abstract: Thiruva Ethirva a political satire programme which focused on the political issues in India. Thiruva Ethirva mainly interprets a political issue in a different perspective. It has the power to make the audience to in-depth political analysis and understand a particular political issue in detail. The issues are interspersed with dialogue and scenes from movies. Thiruva Ethirva helps the viewers to understand the political controversies in very simple and most effective manner. A popular trend in political satire which observed was that it deals with truth. It avoids biased situations. The method adopted for the study was textual analysis of political satire. The main objectives of the study are to identify how political satire create impact in political learning and information seeking in the audience. The analysis is conducted by means of an impact of political satire in information seeking and political learning to the audience.

Abstract: Gopal Krishna Gokhale was prominent leader of Indian Independence Movement. He was one of the political and social leaders during the Freedom Struggle of India. Gokhale’s political thought revolves around the socio-political issues. He appreciated and welcomed the British rule in India. He was essentially a liberal thinker and preferred constitutional methods for attaining the goal of self-government. He supported the idea of strengthening local self-government institutions. Gokhale gave more importance to national unity and considered it as the first pre-requisite for the growth and development of Indian nationalism. He also stood for the principle of racial equality and expressed strong resentment against the policy of racial discrimination being pursued by the English. He was favoring in establishing a state based on western ideas. Thus he laid emphasis on the principles of individual liberty and social equality. Gokhale favoured the Swadeshi movement. Now days, we see the relevance of his political ideas. I, M. Abstract: The human knowledge, behavior, values, attitudes and level of consciousness are the product of both heredity and environment. Again the environment is the composite of nature and its resources, natural events, socio-economic components, education, culture, location, topographical status, opportunities and so on.  Among all other environmental factors the localities and topographical regions of individual were assumed to mediate the effects on Environmental Knowledge. The topographical condition in terms of climate, temperature, rain rate throughout the year, humidity, resources available and natural calamities may have more and less impact in forming personality characteristics i.e. behaviour, knowledge, values, etc. The present study has been emerged out of the above considerations. The researchers assumed the localities and gender as factors of Environmental Knowledge.  For that purpose, the State, West Bengal has been divided into six topographical zones and a sample of 260 (N = 260) Secondary School Students of different parts of West Bengal has been taken. Environmental Knowledge Scale (EKS) developed by researchers has been used to measure the selected variable. Descriptive statistics along with ANOVA and t-test have been employed to analyze the data. No difference of the Environmental Knowledge was found in case of gender but the significant differences were found in case of localities.  It might be concluded that the localities might mediate in Environmental Knowledge of persons.

Abstract: This study aims to understand the works of Christopher Nolan in the light of Auteur theory and to understand if he can be referred to as an auteur. For the same, three of his works belonging to the Batman Trilogy namely, Batman Begins, Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises were chosen and a textual analysis was done. Through the analysis of recurring themes and symbols in his film, the presence of Nolan as the central consciousness was to be observed. Textual analysis was done on the three films which belonged to the superhero genre and brought with them many rules and regulations to be followed.

Abstract: The objective of this work is to perform a diachronic analysis of the immigrants’ flows, and the consequent human mobility, that rose to a considerable magnitude in the Capital during the years 2002 – 2012. In this first phase of the research, the aim is to evaluate how and how much the immigrants’ entrepreneurship in the catering area has developed, spread and integrated in the social and economic fabric of the city. To this end, through a qualitative-quantitative analysis with particular emphasis to the Esquilino district, the spatial distribution of restaurants run by immigrants has been studied.

For this purpose, it can be found in this paper a brief review over their social and political thought, focused on their idea of spirit. Abstract: Self-help groups are voluntarily formed group consist of 10 – 20 people with the combination of men and women for economically homogeneous classes, who come together for addressing their common problems and issues. These kinds of groups can be seen in rural and semi urban places more. There are generally formed with mutual agreement to make regular savings and contribute the same for common fund to facilitate the lending of small interest bearing loans to their group members. This makes group members to avoid high rate of interest lenders in their locality and easy access for loan and all. When they have their own group, as and when monetary and non-monetary assistance required for their problems, they can find solution them self without depending upon others. So it makes them easy to access fund and easy to repay with minute rate of interest. This is the main advantage for the group members.

If Self Help Groups maintain good financial track record they can get credit assistance from government and non-government bodies. That credit facility can be used not only for their personal but also for their economic development individually or in a group. It can become their source of income and it may change their style of living by improving their standard of life it will help to improvement in economic development of the country also. This article endeavor to throw light upon self-help groups operations and their status in Haveri district of Karnataka State.

Abstract:  A pessimistic disposition is taken by many students towards the subject of Mathematics, resulting in unfavorable passes in examinations.  The Government of Jamaica, having recognized this academic drawback, sought to train and employ specialist Mathematics teachers, especially in the secondary school system, as it is envisaged that this could possibly garner fruition at the Caribbean Secondary Examination Council (CSEC) level. The objectives of this study were to conduct an action research to effect positive change; build students’ capacity in critical thinking in the subject of Mathematics; and obtain favourable passes in the Mathematics CSEC examination among students in Grade 11 at the Donald Quarrie High School. A qualitative approach, with the use of a Tokenism-type community intervention was chosen in carrying out this research. This was because Tokenism allows for democratic-type of participation. Purposive sampling method was used to target a population of 28 individuals: one principal, five teachers and 22 students. In building capacity, a student-centred approach was used. This was reflective of democratic-type pedagogy, Freirian’s problem-posing techniques, motivation, Constructivism, and Experiential Learning. The findings from the study which was conducted over the period September to December, 2014, revealed that the intervention programme did not only stimulate students’ performance, but their level of mathematical reasoning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills were significantly advanced.

Abstract: Since the past few decades ‘culture’ has become a ‘playing ball’ for the literary and cultural critics. Everyone tries his hands on it in a different way and still it seems similar. For some it’s a way of life and for others, it’s still a way of life. But this way of life differs at the level of political boundaries; that is state wise or nation wise. Every nation has a culture of its own what Frantz Fanon called the ‘national culture.’ This paper deals with the theme of national culture as a form of resistance. Culture is a mechanism of perpetuating survival on the earth in every human society. But since the concept of power and dominion emerged into the human psyche, the ‘national culture,’ we may say a sub-category of culture, has become a form of survival and resisting the invading forces. Earlier the invaders were the western colonists and nowadays they are again the Westerns, if not literally colonists, but ideological invaders. The proposed paper will further look into the problems of how the technological advancement has expanded and extended the western domination all across the globe. And how the ‘national culture,’ can play a significant role to deconstruct this western hegemony; of the so-called ‘being civilized’ and globalization.

 Abstract: Inclusive education is a flexible and individualized support system for children with special educational needs. (Because of a disability or for other reason)It forms an integral component of the overall educational system and is provided in regular schools committed to an appropriate education for all. The hallmarks of inclusive education, is the teachers willingness to accept children with special needs. Their attitudes and knowledge about inclusive education are important as these are indicators of such willingness. The purpose of the study was to examine teachers’ attitudes and their perceived knowledge towards inclusive education in primary schools of Odisha. The respondents (n=200) were the mainstream teachers and Resource Teacher in the primary schools .They were given a set of questionnaire which sought their responses regarding their attitudes and knowledge towards inclusive education. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency and percentages. The main findings show that, in general, teachers have positive attitude towards inclusive education. They agreed that inclusive education enhances social interaction and inclusion among the students and thus, it minimizes negative stereotypes on special needs children. The findings also show that, collaboration between the mainstream and the Resource teacher is important and that there should be a clear guideline on the implementation of inclusive education. The findings of the study have significant implication to the administrators, teachers, parents and other stakeholders who directly involved in implementing inclusive education.

Abstract: The main aim of this article will be to look at what are the regional and global implications of the Iranian nuclear program especially in light of the ongoing nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States. Initially it is asked how the nuclear program has impacted Iran’s relations with neigh boring countries especially Israel and Saudi Arabia. Then the impact of sanctions on Iran which have been imposed due to the nuclear program is looked at. After this a historical background is provided to the Iranian nuclear program right from the era of the Shah to that of the Islamic Republic. Following this the position of the Iranian people and the government on the nuclear program is studied. It is found out that majority of Iranians accept the importance of the nuclear program. The Iranian government has always maintained the peaceful nature of its nuclear program. After this we look at the US perspective. The US has been consistently opposed to Iran acquiring nuclear weapons. The current negotiations between Iran and the United States offers hope that this dispute will be resolved peacefully.

Abstract: The Web 2.0 technology is a new finding tool in online education to help make it more interactive and user friendly. In this study, a blog was used as a platform for developing Web Based Learning Portfolio (WBLP). In the Web Based Learning Portfolio (WBLP), the researcher introduced an online portfolio for the research students. Here, the portfolio was used to gather learning resources for various research aspects and also to put together the work of other researchers. The main objective of this research was to develop and evaluate a Web Based Learning Portfolio (WBLP). Samples for this study have been taken from M.Phil and Ph.D students enrolled in education at the University of Mumbai. Quantitative and qualitative mixed method paradigm was used for this research study. Formative and summative evaluation was used for this system. Two types of evaluation systems were used for evaluating the WBLP system. The formative evaluation process was mainly conducted concurrently with the development of the WBLP. The Main purpose of formative evaluation is to gather the information required for system development, its revisions and improvements. In contrast to formative evaluation, summative evaluation is purely a way to measure the performance of the WBLP system in the educational research field. For the summative evaluation, for experts, an open ended criterion had been given and for the students, a structured questionnaire and an open ended reflective question were given. The data collected from the students and experts was then used as a reference for further system revision and improvement. Structured questionnaire items were analysed by mean percentage of agreement and the comments received in the open ended question and the comment box was analyzed through qualitative coding process. Both the experts and the students were satisfied with the WBLP system and they also gave some suggestions for improving.

Abstract: This small scale study investigates how a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative to extend financial support to a pre-primary school in a deprived area influences the learning experiences of the students in Mauritius. Mauritius is a developing island and like most island states is vulnerable to global forces. Consequently, there is now a call for further partnership between private and public sectors to address developmental issues such as education. Using a qualitative approach, the authors gathered data from teachers (n=6) working in a pre-primary school. The content of the interview were then analysed and emergent themes were obtained. Findings overwhelmingly revealed that this CSR initiative has positively transformed the learning experiences of students. Yet the authors called for even more interventions from CSR companies as data revealed that there remained still more to be done.
