Abstract: This study was conducted as part of the pull-outs program to determine the level of student reading ability in English, which include letter recognition, vocabulary, phonics, sentences and reading passages among primary students of Royal International School, during the first semester school year 2015-2016. The experimental method was utilized using the One Group Pre-Test and Post-Test Design. The struggling readers in class were the focus of the study. The study involved a total of seventy-four (74) students purposively selected from the primary class. These students were recommended by the class teachers to undergo reading intervention and support during their Art period. T-Test for Correlated Samples showed that Reading Intervention and Support has a significant effect on student reading ability.

Abstract: This study investigates the impact of motivation on the performance of workers in an organization like University of Abuja-Nigeria. The study is based on three objectives mainly: to determine if staff training and development improve workers’ performance; to ascertain the impact of financial incentives on performance of the workers; and to investigate the impact of promotion workers on their performance. The study used employed descriptive statistics with the use of simple random sampling to apply the questionnaires. The questionnaires were applied to 250 respondents. The study used multiple regressions and found out that staff training and development, financial incentive and promotion of workers are positively and significantly related with performance of staff of the University. The study revealed that the level of incentives workers enjoy definitely will affect their performance on the job. The study therefore recommendations the following; the university management should improve and increase the numbers of staff trainings in other to improve their performance. Financial incentives for the staff of the university should be improved upon in other to increase their performance. Lastly, promotion of staff should be as at when due so as to encourage them to perform better.

Abstract: This study sought to investigate the nexus of philosophy in educational praxes in selected countries, namely: France, England, USA, Finland, China, and Zimbabwe. Three interconnected objectives were tackled, that is: To investigate philosophical foundations of education in France, England and the united states of America, to examine philosophical ramifications of education in China and to analyze philosophical premises of education in Zimbabwe. The study uses analytic method of philosophical investigation to locate philosophical basis of education in the foretasted countries.  It is inferred that French and English Education are inclined towards libertarian philosophies whose foundations are pegged on existentialism, critical pedagogy and critical thinking while American Education leans more on pragmatism. Analytic philosophy and progressivism are observed to be the blue print of Finnish Education system while Confucianism informs theory and praxis of education in China. The African representative in this study, post independence Zimbabwe, can be surmised to be inclined towards African socialism and Hunhu philosophy (Zimbabwean version of Ubuntu philosophy).

Abstract: The Virtue Teams are geographically dispersed groups that work without necessarily being in one place or having to meet face to face. They use Information Technology tools (e.g. Video and sound call tools, Emails and websites, Databases and service platforms assisted by Servers etc)to coordinate and exchange information and hence Effective Research and Development for Project success. Virtual teams offer rapid solutions to Complex organizational Problems. Virtual teams enable organizations to gather Talents and expertise of internal members and different Stakeholders of a Project being undertaken while eliminating Time and distance barriers. The purpose of the research was to assess the effect of virtual team work on the proje Execution in Rwanda. Specific objectives was to evaluate to determine the effectiveness of virtual team working on project execution in Global fund Rwanda, to find out the benefits of virtual team on project execution in Global fund Rwanda, to identify factors hampering effective virtual team working on project execution in Global fund Rwanda and to analyze the contribution of virtual team behavior and attitude on project execution in Global fund Rwanda.  The research used descriptive research design. The population of the study was 53 from Global Fund project and since the population was small a census was used. Primary data was collected using a structured questionnaire. Data was collected, analyzed and tested using descriptive statistics and Pearson Coefficient Correlation method. The data reveled that there is a significance relationship between effectiveness of virtual team working on project execution with a significant of 0.7. The study also revealed that benefits of virtual team on project execution with a significant of 0.6. Hence the researcher recommended that the government and its partners that virtual Teams is therefore appropriate particularly for the Global fund project since it relies on people who work and live in different parts of the world.

Abstract: This investigation is conduct to know the relationship between parental socio- economic condition and students learning achievement at higher secondary school certificate examination. To find out the nature of the reality, survey research design was used for this study. The study was conducted at five (05) college of Jamalpur district. The respondent of the study consisted of One hundred twenty (120) student who were purposively selected from the study area. Data were collected through interview schedule & shown statistical table and analyzed. The study reveals that parental education, occupation, income and social status effect the learning achievement.

Abstract: The purpose of this research study was to determine how application of Total Quality Management principles and practices affected performance in the Kenyan public sector with reference to the judicial system of Kenya. The specific objectives of the study were to examine the influence of customer focus, employee involvement, continuous improvement and commitment by top management on performance in the Judiciary of Kenya. The researcher used descriptive research design where target population was 880 employees from courts in Nairobi County and comprised of the top, middle, and lower levels of management that was constituted of Magistrates, Directors, head of stations and departments and paralegal staff. Stratified random sampling technique was employed to sample 88 respondents representing 10% of the target population. The data was collected through the use of structured and semi-structured questionnaires which was then analyzed and presented using mainly tables. The study results revealed that there was a significant relationship between customer focus and performance; there was a significant relationship between employee involvement implementation and performance; there was a significant relationship between continuous improvement and performance and that there was a significant relationship between top management commitment and performance. The study recommended that the judicial system of top management needs to be totally involved in quality management development and implementation strategies within their organizations by making this process their number one priority.

Abstract: The objective of this study was to investigate the influence of innovations on financial performance of deposit taking Sacco’s in Nairobi County. The study covered a period of 5 years from 2012 to 2016. The research adopted a descriptive survey design employed to all the 41 deposit taking SACCOs in Nairobi County licensed by SASRA. A census study targeted 123 members of staff from the 41 SACCOs. A Structured questionnaire was used to collect primary data from respondents. Secondary data was sourced from the Sacco’s annual financial reports and SASRA supervisory reports. Descriptive statistics like means, standard deviation, co-efficient of variation and percentages was used to summarize results that were presented in tables, charts and graphs. A multiple regression analysis was be used to show the causal relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable. The results indicated that there was a positive relationship between innovation and financial performance of deposit taking Sacco’s in Nairobi County. The study concluded that innovation is a predictor of financial performance of Saccos in Nairobi County. All the three types of innovation had a positive and statistically significant influence on the financial performance. The study recommended that the government should pass legislation that will support the Sacco’s to adopt more innovation in order to improve performance. This will help them move from the traditional products to more innovative products that are tailored to meet members‟ needs.

Abstract: The main problem in this research is the low of student learning outcomes on the subjects of PDGK4109 / Indonesian Language and Literature in SD. This study aims to determine student learning outcomes by using paired models and independent models. This study also aims to see whether there are differences in learning outcomes between paired models and independent models, as well as to find out how if both models are applied interchangeably in the implementation of the tutorial. The research method used is descriptive comparative with the research sample is the second semester student PGSD pokjar Pangkep on subjects PDGK4109 / Indonesian Language and Literature in elementary school. The results showed that there were significant differences between paired model and independent model, only 28% of the students who got the score in good category while in the paired learning 40% of the students who got the value in good category. What is interesting in this study is that if these two models of learning are applied interchangeably, the students' learning outcome is 28% in very good category and 24% in good category. These results indicate that paired models and independent models when applied interchangeably in the execution of tutorials will result in better learning outcomes.

Abstract: This study aims to determine the obstacles encountered in the manufacture and use of applications charging materials support exams based on Ms. Excel and Ms. Word is done through three stages. The first stage is preparation which includes development and pilot activities. Furthermore, it is followed by the implementation of the use of Excel and Ms. Word based application support materials. The last stage is to evaluate the utilization of Excel and Ms. Word support application materials. Application development is built on spreadsheet Ms. Excel for data processing and pages Ms. Word to display the test material supporting materials. In this study the document is facilitated by the application of the only supporting test material that involves the process of calculation or recapitulation. Based on the findings and inputs on application trials, several improvements were made before the application of this test material was used in the implementation of the Non-Pending Test of the 2015 test period. The results of the implementation of the application of the supporting material of the exam on the implementation of Non-Pendas 2015.2 program test in Sidrap Regency, obtained some positive statements related to the outcome of the application of the test supporting materials. In general, the exam committee gets significant benefits with the use of application of exam support materials. In addition to the validity of the data issued by the application is very good, on the implementation of the application activity of the exam committee runs optimally in accordance with the rules that have been set by UT Pusmintas. The implementation results also provide clues that the use of Ms. Excels and Ms. Word based exam support application. This Word will be very effective if the mobile supervisor can play an optimal role as a data collector in accordance with the time required by the administrative officer, as well as the validator of the document filling out the application documents and documents of manual filling by the inspector of space and administrative officers. In future research required applications that can support the processing of test results involving databases throughout UPBJJ-UT.

Abstract: The face-to-face tutorial is one of the learning assistance services provided to the students, to improve the mastery of the material. The purpose of this study is to see the implementation of the tutorial in accordance with the quality assurance system set by the Open University, Tutor in charge will affect the learning outcomes, if the tutor has professional commitment and tutor motivation to produce maximum performance. Function tutor of faculty tutorial activities as a student facilitator in improving the mastery of student materials according to the subject matter (BMP) on the S1 PGSD program at UPBJJ-UT Makassar. Specifically aims To know the influence of professional commitment tutor to tutor performance, To know the influence of tutor's work motivation on tutor performance and To know the influence of commitment and motivation of tutor's work on tutor performance at UPBJJ-UT Makassar. The results of the research (1) the stronger the tutor's commitment will improve the tutor's performance, (2). and the higher the tutor's Motivation will improve the tutor's performance. The conclusion that the stronger the commitment, and the higher the motivation of the tutor will improve the tutor's performance. Tutor's commitment and tutor motivation together affect the tutor's performance. If UPBJJ- UT wants to improve the tutor's performance then it should be improved on tutor commitment factor and motivation of tutor work done together.

Abstract: This paper aims to explain the influence of Think Talk Write Model in Indonesian Language Learning. In the process of learning, teachers can choose and develop a model to achieve learning outcomes, because learning emphasizes more on achievement of goals related to learning. Think talk write is a learning model that emphasizes the importance of effective and meaningful learning. Effective means for purpose, while meaningful learning is not enough by just hearing and seeing but having to do activities of thinking, speaking, and writing (reading, asking, answering, commenting, doing, communicating, presentation, discussion, minutes). The think talk write model is an effective and meaningful learning model that starts from thinking through reading material, the reading result is communicated with the presentation and discussion, then the writing ability through the presentation report.

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of work motivation, work discipline and work environment on the performance of tutors This study uses case study methods supported survey research and who became respondents is a student S1 program PGSD on Pokjar Pangkep which amounted to 100 people. Respondents were pulled by simple random sampling method. Data analysis was done by using multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the motivation, work discipline and work environment have a positive and significant effect on the performance of tutors. From these results can be concluded that high work motivation, and high work discipline and a good working environment, will improve the performance of tutors in implementing tutorial face to face.

Abstract: This study investigates the effects of women’s self-help groups (WSHGs) on households’ livelihoods in Kalama Division, Machakos County. It specifically aims at establishing the effects of women’s SHGs on households’ income levels in Kalama Division, identifying the role of WSHGs on households' education level in the division, finding out the effects of WSHGs on households’ health status. The study was based on 165 respondents selected from existing registered groups in the study area. Data was collected using questionnaires and analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively using tables, graphs, pie charts and percentages.The study findings revealed that WSHGs improved household’s income and savings where most of the respondents reported increased incomes in their households.  It was also established that Women SHGs affect household education positively mainly through increased income and awareness about education. Further, the study disclosed that WSHGs positively influenced household health because most members of women SHGs had relatively good health except for a few. Ability to access medical facilities also improved as a result of WSHGs.  Finally, the study analysis revealed that training was the most preferred strategy for improving WSHGs. The study recommends for more funding and improvement of basic infrastructures such as roads.

Abstract: The objective of the study was to determine the effect of supply chain integration on operational performance at county government of Marsabit. The specific objectives were: to determine the influence of information sharing, customer service, customer orientation and sharing strategic information on the operational performance of Marsabit County. The researcher adopted stratified sampling and simple random sampling techniques in selecting the respondents. The data collection instrument was a self-administered semi-structured questionnaires that was administered through a “drop and pick later” method to the procurement and supply chain managers. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and for determining the relationship between supply integration and operational performance, a regression analysis was generated. The findings showed that county had put into place systems that link its operations to the constituents and that the adoption of information technology had led to improved participation by the county constituents on development matters. The study revealed that trust and goodwill defines the existence of good customer orientation in the integration process. Further, the study revealed that sharing operational information such as inventory levels, costs and schedules, production and transportation capacities, lead times, and shipments, within the organization has led to improved customer service. In respect to the operational performance, the study found that both information technology and customer service resulted in positive effect on the operational performance while the customer orientation and information sharing had negative relationship with the county operational performance.

Abstract: This study aims to describe the effect of serial comic media on the interest of learning Indonesian fourth graders Elementary School Inpres Antang Makassar on even semesters academic year 2017/2018. The sample of this research is 26 students. Data collection through questionnaires, interviews and observation. Data were analyzed by using descriptive analysis technique and product moment correlation technique. The result of the research shows that there is a significant influence of the use of serial comic media to the students' learning interest. The result of the correlation analysis shows that the r-count is 0.642. Therefore, it is concluded that the comic strip media has an influence on students' interest in learning. This shows that the proposed hypothesis is accepted, that is, there is influence of the use of comic serial media to the interest of learning Indonesian class IV Elementary School Inpres Kalebajeng Gowa District.
