Abstract: The study was undertaken to identify Women Empowerment.  It is found that the socio-economic factor has been changed.  But the saving is increasing at earlier stage of life.  There are emerging issues that heed to be addressed to make that role of women in the long run.  It is the clear that by involving voluntary organizations in social mobilization and creating an enabling policy environment, micro fiancé can achieve a vast scale and can become a rational movement. Education is the basic requirement and the Fundamental Right’ of the citizens of a nation.  While Higher Education is important, the Elementary Education system serves as the base, over which the super-structure of the whole education system is built up.  Empowering women by providing access to good health, education, social, economical and political rights in various aspects had been boon, elevates the growth of status in the society among the men and also has improved their difference.  Perhaps the most significant development for women in the last few decades has been the introduction of 33% reservation for women in local, village-elections. In Vellore district, Empowerment women that breaks all the barriers both in the family as well as in the society.

Abstract: Absorption of development funds allocated to the County Governments in Kenya has raised concerns in the recent past due to associated poor performance. The objective of the study was to examine the influence of funds disbursement on the absorption of development funds by the County Government of Laikipia. The study adopted an explanatory survey research design and was grounded on the agency and resource-based theories. The target population was 51 officers working in the relevant committees and offices in Laikipia County and since the population is low, the study used census. The main research instrument was structured questionnaire that was collected both quantitative and qualitative data while the main data analysis approaches was both descriptive and inferential. This was done supported by computer software, the statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). Data was presented in tabular form. The results of the study revealed that the funds disbursement were very critical with regard to utilization of development funds by the County Government of Laikipia. A substantive proportion of variance in utilization of development funds could be explained by funds disbursement. The null hypothesis was effectively rejected. The study concluded that funds disbursement were crucial in the utilization of the said funds for development purposes. It has been recommended that funds disbursement should be pegged on the accountable utilization of the previously disbursed funds.

Abstract: Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies despite their crucial role of providing financial services to the unbanked, and their geographical spread, have been challenged by the competitive forces as a result of concentration of financial service providers in the market. The study examined the influence of product differentiation strategies and market innovation strategies on customer satisfaction in SACCOs in Nakuru County, Kenya. The Porter’s generic competitive strategies and technology acceptance model guided the study. The researcher used descriptive survey design. The accessible population encompassed the 20 deposit-taking Saccos operating in Nakuru County. A simple random sampling technique was employed to select a sample of 384 customers. Questionnaires were used to assist in data collection. The questionnaire was pilot tested to assess its validity and reliability before its use in the main study. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were used in the analysis of the collected data. The results of the study established that product differentiation strategy and technology innovation strategy had a positive relationship with customer satisfaction. It was concluded that high technological improvements, the aforementioned firms should engage in new, improved ways and innovations to ensure they firmly stay competitive as well as maintain high-end service quality. Furthermore, the study recommended that the Saccos ought to engage their clients on ways of improving their services, for example through customer satisfaction surveys and implement the findings.

Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of financial planning on financial sustainability of housing cooperatives in Nakuru County, Kenya. The institutional theory and agency cost theory guided the study. The study adopted a cross-sectional survey design and quantitative approach. A total of 240 finance officers, credit officers, operational managers, and chief executive officers working with the aforementioned firms constituted the study population. A sample of 91 respondents was obtained using simple random sampling technique. A structured questionnaire was used to aid in collecting data. The questionnaire was pilot tested and subsequently its validity and reliability determined. Data analysis was electronically carried out with the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences tool. The analysis encapsulated descriptive and inferential statistics. The pertinent results were presented in tables. The study found that financial planning explained 32.6% variance in financial sustainability of housing cooperatives. The influence of financial planning on financial sustainability was established to be statistically significant (p < 0.05). The null hypothesis was thus rejected. The study concluded that financial planning was a critical internal factor that influenced financial sustainability of the studied cooperatives. It was recommended that housing cooperatives should have clear and reliable financial plans to enable them to effectively source requisite funds and appropriately allocate the same to ventures with high return on investment.

Abstract: The study aimed at establishing the effect audit committee on financial performance of deposit taking Sacco’s in Nyandarua County, Kenya. The study was anchored on stewardship theory. The study applied descriptive survey research design. Target population for the study was composed of deposit taking SACCOs in Nyandarua County which are under SASRA regulation. There are 61 deposit taking SACCOs operating in four sub-counties of Nyandarua County. Given that the sample population is not too big; the study adopted a census of all the SACCOs. A questionnaire constructed in a five point likert scale was used as the main data collection instrument. The instrument was pilot tested to check on the suitability and the clarity of questions on the instrument. Data collected was analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Findings were presented in form of descriptive statistics and inferential statistics and presented in tables accompanied by relevant discussion. The study established that audit committee had a positive significant relationship with the financial performance of deposit taking SACCOs in Nyandarua County. Therefore the study concluded that audit committee has a significant relationship with financial performance. This means that audit committee dynamics directly influences the direction of financial performance of the deposit taking SACCOs in Nyandarua County.. The study recommended that SACCOs should ensure they install an audit committee to help in internal auditing of the financial operations of the SACCOs. Further, audit committee ensures efficient allocation of resources in SACCOs and thus a prerequisite in ensuring effectiveness in financial performance.

Abstract: The purposes of this study was to provide an overview of the current status of universal primary education and to examine the factors that hindering the implementation of universal primary education in Karongi District . The objective of this study is to analyze the factors affecting the achievement of Universal primary education in Karongi district-Rwanda, to assess the effects of home environment to the universal primary education in Karongi District and To examine the effect of school environment to the universal primary Education in Karongi district. This study employed both qualitative and quantitative research methods to carry out data collection from students and teachers, as well as out of school children, in Karongi district.

The target population was 400 who represent the whole population of Karongi District from 2013-2017. The sample size comprises by parent 178, teacher 121 and students 101.

The findings demonstrate the obstacles which slow down the achievement of universal primary education as the following: The outcomes of the study indicate that 46 percent of the children dropout of schools due to the influential of communities. 49.25 percent stand for student absenteeism due to the home chores and illegal works. The children stands by 49 percent do not attend the school due to late for school.  The remaining other are 52.7 percent who have the feeling of fear of failure has been also taken into consideration as factor the reduce the chance for achieving universal primary education.

Abstract: The general objective of the study was to investigate the influence of organizational culture on strategy implementation in Safaricom’s Smart Home Technology. The research study applied descriptive research design. The target population of this study was 120 top, middle and low level management staffs of Safaricom’s Smart Home Technology department. A sample of 92 was selected from within each group in proportions that each group bears to the study population using Israel method sampling technique. The study used questionnaires as data collection instruments for the research distributed through drop and pick later method. Data collected was purely quantitative and was analyzed by descriptive analysis. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and MS Excel helped the researcher to describe the data and determine the extent used. The study found out that number of respondents noted that organizational culture has high influence on the implementation of Smart Technologies at Safaricom PLC in Kenya. Majority also recognized that understanding the existing culture in an organization enables one identify the aspects that will aid the strategy implementation while also predicting the effects that these cultural components will have in the execution process.

Abstract: This study’s general objective was to establish the effect of innovation strategies on performance of firms listed at the Nairobi securities exchange in Kenya. This study used descriptive study design. The study’s population was 66 NSE listed firms. The study respondents were 198 from the 66 firms who included strategy directors, marketing directors and operations directors. Secondary and primary data was used. Primary data was collected using questionnaire and audited financial statements were the source of secondary data. The drop-and-pick method was applied in questionnaire administration since all the firms had headquarters in Nairobi. Pilot testing was conducted to evaluate the validity and reliability of the methodology and questionnaire. Descriptive analysis was used where statistics such as frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviations were derived. This enabled the study to establish the distribution and prevalence of innovation strategies in the firms listed in the NSE. The study used multiple regression analysis to establish the effect of organization innovation, product innovation, marketing innovation and process innovation on performance of NSE listed firms. The findings established that product innovation (β = 0.74; p < 0.05), marketing innovation (β = 0.073; p < 0.05), process innovation (β = 0.116; p < 0.05) and organization innovation (β = 0.144; p < 0.05) had significant positive effect on financial performance of the firms listed in the NSE. The study has the following implications. First, in the drive towards enhancing sales and market share, organizations should ensure that they continually update their products or develop new ones to deal with competition and excite customers. On marketing innovation, investigating customer needs and establishing an innovative way of meeting those needs is paramount. Process innovation strategy of the organization should follow a clear set of values for action. Lastly, for organization innovation firms should consider investing in their employees to ensure maximum output and skill-set growth.

Abstract: The primary goal of this research was to evaluate the influence of market orientation on competitive advantage of mobile telecommunications companies in Kenya. A descriptive research design was used in this research. The population of this study was all 2666 employees in three telecommunication companies in Kenya (Safaricom, Airtel and Telecom Kenya) who worked in Nairobi. The sample size for this study was 347 respondents selected through stratified sampling. This study utilized questionnaire to collect data. The drop and pick method of administration was used. Descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis were used to analyse the collected data. Presentation of the findings was through descriptive statistics and multiple ordinary least squares regression. The study established that market orientation had a positive and significant influence on competitive advantage. The recommendation of the study was that telecommunication companies should continually engage in market research to track the continually changing customer needs and preferences. The companies should have a versatile system of tracking the industry changes and determining how these changes influence customer needs.

Abstract: The banking sector in Kenya has had a challenge in realizing the set profitability levels. This study sought to establish the influence consumer lending on profitability of commercial banks in Nakuru town Kenya. The theory that formed the basis for this study was traditional banking theory. A cross sectional survey research design was adopted for this study. The target population for the study comprised of the credit managers in the 26 commercial banks in Nakuru town. There are 92 credit managers across the banks in Nakuru town. Since the population of the study is not large, the study adopted a census approach. The study made use of a structured questionnaire constructed on a five point Likert scale to collect data. Data was collected through drop and pick later method. The collected data was analyzed with the help of statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). Data was analyzed in form of descriptive and inferential statistics. The analyzed data was presented in form of statistical tables accompanied by relevant discussions. The study established that consumer lending had statistically significant relationship with profitability of commercial banks in Kenya. Therefore the study concluded that consumer lending plays a significant role in determining profitability of commercial banks. The study recommended that the banks management teams review their loan lending policies to avoid concentration on corporate lending and emphasize on consumer lending which greatly impacts on banks profitability. Further, the study recommended that the banks set up better consumer evaluation mechanisms that will enable efficient cream skimming processes.

Abstract: Managers have to decide how much to finance capital investments and they usually consider various factors in making financing decisions. The study therefore investigated the influence of equity financing decisions on the financial sustainability of manufacturing firms in Nakuru, Kenya. Theory that was used in this study included pecking order theory. The study employed descriptive survey research method. The target population of the study included the general managers and financial managers in manufacturing firms in Nakuru town Kenya. The target population comprised of 33 general managers, and 33 finance managers. Data collection was done through the use of questionnaires constructed on a 5 point Likert scale. The questionnaire was tested for validity and reliability where Cronbach’s coefficient Alpha was computed for the instrument. The collected data was analyzed using statistical package for social sciences (SPSS). Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics which included frequency, percentages, mean and standard deviation and inferential statistics which included regression and correlation analysis and was presented in tables and figures accompanied by relevant discussions. The study established that equity financing had positive significant relationships with financial sustainability of manufacturing firms in Nakuru town. Hence, the study concluded that equity financing, had a significant influence on financial sustainability of manufacturing firms in Nakuru town Kenya. It was recommended that the manufacturing firms top management team should set up policy measures to guide in financing decisions of the firms. This would aid in helping the firms attain a good balance of the financing options and enhance the financial sustainability of the firms.

Abstract: Decision making is very crucial from an individual to organizational perspective since the decision output could lead to positive or negative impact. Few studies have been conducted in regards to the selected drivers to strategic decision making with some recommending further studies to be undertaken. The study exclusively focused to investigate the drivers to strategic decision making in KCAA. The study was guided by the following objectives namely; to assess the influence of organization structure on strategic decision making in KCAA, to assess the influence of top management characteristics on strategic decision making in KCAA, to assess the influence of organizational resources on strategic decision making in KCAA and to assess the influence of organizational culture on strategic decision making in KCAA. The study was guided three theories namely; Resource-Based Theory, Contingency Theory and Market-Based Theory. The study used descriptive Research Design with a population of 756 from which a sample of 164 was drawn. Stratified Radom Sampling Technique was employed to derive the sample. Primary data was collected using questionnaires while secondary data was gathered through literature review. The secondary data was collected through reviews of existing relevant documents. Respondents were members of staff in the Top Management, Senior Management and Middle Management. The study established that selected firm drivers influences Strategic Decision Making. The findings of the study affirmed existence of a significant positive relationship between the four key components of selected firm drivers namely; Organization Structure, Top Management Characteristics, Organizational Resources and Organizational Culture with Strategic Decision Making. The findings further indicated that of the four components, Organization Structure comparatively played a major role towards Strategic Decision Making, while the role played by Organizational Culture was the lowest. The study recommends that the management of organizations in Kenya should put in place high Organizational Structure Strategies as it leads to improved Strategic Decision Making. Organizations should ensure they have an effective Organization Structure in terms of power, hierarchies and recruitment in which all the Strategic Decision Making processes can be well accommodated. The study also recommends that future scholars and researchers aim to test the relationship between Organizational Structure and Strategic Decision Making using different sub constructs apart from hierarchies, power and recruitment. This can bring rigour and offer platforms for comparison of findings.

Abstract: There is a general perception that agriculture is the backbone of Punjab economy. No doubt, Industrial sector and service sector are growing at a remarkable rate in the present scenario but still majority of the state's population resides in rural areas and they depend on agriculture and its allied activities including livestock, forestry & logging, fishery etc. Farmers in Punjab witnessed financial disorder and committed suicide, which recorded the largest wave of suicide in agriculture sector during last 16 years. Farmer suicide is a very complex phenomenon, largely associated with economic, social and psychological agony of the victim as well as their families. In the recent years, huge number of farmers have committed suicide due to rapid increase in debt, repeated crop failure, natural calamities, lack of alternative sources of income, exploitation by moneylenders, increase in the cost of production, sinking water table and overall rapidly diminishing profitability of agriculture etc. Today, farmers in most production districts such as shri Muktsar sahib, Patiala, Fridkot, SAS Nagar and Fatehgarh sahib are ending their lives because of all problems mentioned above, Here, an attempt is made to find out the root causes which force farmers to commit suicide in Punjab and also to cite and compare data of farmer's suicide. To reintegrate the affected farmers from this chronic situation, some innovative remedies like crop insurance, contract farming, extension services, agricultural credit etc. are also suggested, which can be implemented with sincerity by the government.

Abstract: This study investigates motivation towards second language acquisition in Saudi Arabia. The questionnaire adapted from Gardner's attitudes and motivation. The study followed the analytical, descriptive method and designed a questionnaire, the questionnaire is composed seven statements, to investigate the motivation. Forty six students studying at College of Science and Arts, Blujrishi AL-Baha University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The study revealed that Saudi students have a positive  feeling and a sense  of the English society and want to understand and learn English significantly. The study recommended to the need for students to become aware of the importance of language acquisition and suggests further research on strong motivation for learning, and some personality traits.

Abstract: This study investigates attitudes towards second language acquisition in Saudi Arabia. The questionnaire adapted from Gardner's attitudes and motivation.

The study followed the analytical, descriptive method and designed a questionnaire, the questionnaire is composed seven statements, to investigate the instrumental. Forty six students studying at College of Science and Arts, Blujrishi AL-Baha University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 

The study revealed that students have positive attitudes about second language acquisition and so desire to develop English language.

The study recommended  to adopt certain strategies that can be more effective to raise the attitudes, demonstrating interest in the student and continued encouragement to learn and increasing student attitudes so that the student must be positive.

The study suggests further research in further research on attitudes and its relation to other variables.
