Abstract: Technology has become an important aspect in our lives since it is used nowadays in different ways for different purposes. The development of technology has helped a lot in the teaching process. During the last two decades, the educational systems all over the world are seeking for suitable methods to apply technology in teaching and learning English to reach the goals of effective teaching. Therefore, educators have been searching for the best way to employ technology in education. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has become a real topic of interest in the field of language teaching. It can be used by the learner and the instructor in the process of language learning and teaching. Using ICT in teaching can be a tool to help the instructor facilitate language learning.  Therefore, the purpose of this study is to focus on the benefits of using ICT in English teaching and learning and to find out the challenges that may face the learner and the instructor of English language when using ICT in teaching and learning English

Abstract: The usefulness of employing technology in the classroom has long been debated. Because of the innovation and acceptance of mobile and wireless communication technologies, learners can access digital materials in real-world scenarios without regard to location or time constraints. This indicates the potential of connecting formal and informal learning, as well as chances for supporting students' active learning. In this instance, traditional classroom teaching methods are no longer appropriate; instead, ubiquitous learning has gained popularity, and e-books are employed in the learning environment. This paper aims to check the possibility of using digital or E-books in the English language learning at high training colleges in Kuwait. The recognition of this new technique in education and the requirements of its application in education systems in the colleges and also the ability of these colleges to accommodate and offer technical requirements, financial and technical requirements to employ them in education and the ability of such colleges to use it are discussed and analyzed here.  Requirements of this technique represented by: good infrastructure including  qualified technical staff, and technology in order to gain the maximum benefits from their application and benefit to the operators of the educational process for both students and teachers and professionals and also for  parents. The principles of e-books is attend to be applied on English language teaching process at high training colleges in Kuwait

Abstract: Learning and possessing a very good knowledge of English language is extremely important, and guiding educators to contribute to effective instruction is considered as a huge necessity. This article covers the obstacles educators encounter in delivering English as a second language in the classroom to the learners, as well as alternative solutions, a theoretical viewpoint on students’ learning difficulties, and future research to investigate evidence-based tactics. This article is expected to have a significant impact on more educators’ awareness of their own limitations, sources of motivation, necessary abilities, and most significantly, ways to reorganize the process of teaching to be expert in the teaching of English as a second language. Abstract: Entrepreneurship is associated with start-up initiatives, creativity, and innovation in business, the entrepreneur is the originator and owner of the business. Successful entrepreneur combines and coordinates other factors of production, with innovative ability to achieve economic motive which creates wealth and jobs. Nigerian medicinal herbal businesses sector has not been able to utilize their ideas to bring about small-scale development in the country. Medical Herbal businesses are experiencing difficulties in creating more jobs for young graduates because of inadequate entrepreneurial supportive policies. Nigeria is experiencing persevering increment in unemployment level with graduate unemployment making up a major percentage of the unemployed population. The objective of this study involves exploring the thematic assessment of entrepreneurial practices on performance of medicinal herbal businesses in Osun State. Qualitative research approaches were used to examine the entrepreneurial practice on the performance of these enterprises. The population for this study is four respondents from the registered medicinal herbal businesses in Osun State, source (National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Osun State). Structured interview was adopted to collect data, thematic analysis was adopted to process the interview data. Findings showed that start-up initiatives have a strong significant influence with job creation and creativity and innovation on business growth. The study concluded that majority of the Nigerian herbal medicinal products have not been able to surpass their expectations to customers in terms of quality services but have always make a lot of funny stories surrounding their product. The study recommended that medicinal herbal business owners in Osun State needs to create more business opportunities that can create more small-scale jobs. Herbal medicinal entrepreneurs should utilize the available resources in Osun State to produce more reliable herbal medicinal products. There are lots of business opportunities the herbal business has not tapped into. Herbal medicinal business has to ease the comfort of people in terms of trust of the contents of the herbal medicinal products.

Abstract: During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh was very interested in promoting the role of the people in protecting security, order. Abstract: This study assessed the University Librarians' Attitude Towards Open Source Software in University Libraries in Adamawa State, Nigeria. The specific objectives of the study were to; find out if university librarians are familiar with open source software; identify the types of software university librarians uses; assess the criteria for selecting software by university librarians; and describe librarians’ attitude towards open source software. Primary data were collected from 80 randomly selected university library staff in the study area using a structured questionnaire. Data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics. Findings of the study revealed that over 90% of the respondents are familiar with the common library software, and that KOHA is the most preferred (76.3%) software. Similarly, cost is the major (50%) consideration for selecting the software, and that 83.7% of librarians are strongly favourable to open access software. Therefore, the study recommended that university Libraries should embrace networking and exchange programmes to enhance the capacity of their staff to use common software in the libraries.

Abstract: Employees become the most important asset to any organization in today’s business world. They represent the human capital factor in all organizations whether public or private and embrace all human abilities regardless of the intrinsic or learnt qualities. Employees play a key role in the existence and growth of any organization; therefore, their welfare is essential. Welfare is concerned with the total wellbeing of employees both at home and at the workplace. The objective of this study was to determine the influence of employee welfare practices on job satisfaction in six selected universities within the Nairobi Metropolitan region in Kenya. This study empirically reviewed the influence of three independent variables (Medical benefits, educational benefits, and Social Security schemes), on job satisfaction. The study was considered important to various stakeholders including management, human resource and administrators, employees, government as well as other scholars and academicians. The research adopted a descriptive research design, and the total population was 1954 employees that consisted of teaching and non-teaching categories of staff. A sample size of 129 employees was drawn from the population. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select the respondents. Primary data was collected by use of structured questionnaire method which indicated the statements of welfare practices and job satisfaction with 5-point Likert scale. Secondary data was obtained from the human resource departments of those universities. Data was analyzed using multiple regression analysis with the SPSS (26.0 version). The findings were presented using frequency distribution tables, percentages, means and charts and other central tendencies in a bid to determine the status of employee welfare practices at the selected universities. The researcher established that the independent variable welfare practices are positively correlated with the dependent variable job satisfaction of the selected universities in Kenya. Based on the research findings, the study concluded that there was a strong positive and significant relationship between two variables welfare benefits (medical and educational) and job satisfaction. A review of social security schemes policy in line with the current market trends as well as improving awareness programmes for welfare benefits at the selected universities were presented as recommendations.

Abstract: Cognitive learning focuses on students’ learning rather than teachers’ teaching, according to Noam Chomsky. Therefore, while teaching contents of Translation Studies like Walter Benjamin’s ‘The Task of the Translator,’ and George Steiner’s ‘The Hermeneutic Motion’ for undergraduate literature students in Bangladesh, a musical translation could be a new pedagogical approach compared to the non-musical approach, which will serve two specific purposes: learners might develop self-evaluation attitude when musical beat would be the parameter to evaluate the translation; and secondly, learners could improve instinctive mental capacity, which will help their brain function naturally while translating literature texts like poetry and fiction. While performing such translations maintaining the source language's musical beat and rhythm, students could develop the aptitude for precise and relevant figures of speech, as well as accurate syllable sense. On the other hand, if students are assigned in the classroom to translate literature texts, for instance, Bengali poetry or short story into English, it might not be pragmatic to expect to complete the syllabus within the trimester or semester curriculum because there would be infinite multiple translation outcomes from students in Bangladesh. In order to connect the translated texts with the theories of Translation Studies, the Musical Translation Approach (MTA) can be effective as well as time-saving. This research focuses on how MTA in classroom teaching has given better learning outcomes when applied in classrooms for Bangladeshi undergraduates. This paper also aims to present through a qualitative approach how musical translations can contribute to cognitive learning of the motion of translation compared to the non-musical approach.

Abstract: Information Communication Technology (ICT) has been used in education and training in most European countries during the last decade although the progress has not been the same in the various countries. The developed countries such as UK, most schools have undertaken the use of ICT in teaching and learning into their curriculum and demonstrate high level of effectiveness in the use and support in teaching and learning organization.  The countries that have integrated ICT into their education system have reaped benefits since their teachers and students are able to construct rich multi-sensory, interactive learning environments with far reaching teaching and learning potential as a result of ICT integration. On the contrary, many developing countries in Africa are deficient of technology, that is, the countries lack access to knowledge that is acquired by use of the internet. African countries have invested heavily in setting up ICT infrastructure in readiness for shifting towards embracing its use in schools.

Kenya came up with her National ICT policy that was launched in 2006 in response to the ICT issues raised in seasonal paper No.1 of 2005. The policy was meant to ensure that the nation achieves part of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).  The policy framework of the Ministry of Education pointed out a number of challenges concerning access to and use of ICT in Kenyan schools, including high level of poverty, limited rural electrification and mains electricity distribution being the major setbacks. The use of information and communication technology (ICT) in Kenyan education is lagging behind expected and desired levels. This was shown by the fact that while a good number of secondary schools have considerable number of computer equipment; only few principals and teachers have basic ICT skills necessary for teaching and learning using the available ICT tools. As a matter of fact, ICT in education is used to promote information literacy that is the ability to access, use and evaluate information from different sources so as to enhance teaching and learning, solve problems and creation of new knowledge. Based on these findings the researcher concluded that the rate of ICT policy implementation in secondary schools in Kenya is sluggish, as characterized by inadequate IT literacy, high cost of funding ICT programmes, inadequate infrastructure, lack of psychological and technical preparedness and insufficient policy guidelines for the implementation process and ICT adoption.

Abstract: The paper analyzed fiscal policy shock and Nigerian economic growth from 1983 to 2021. The investigation was longitudinal. Government expenditure, oil revenue, Government debt, and budget deficit were independent variables, while industrial sector GDP contribution was a proxy for industrial performance. Central Bank of Nigeria Statistical Bulletin, 2019 provided these variables' data. Descriptive statistics, Augmented Dickey Fuller unit root test, Johansen Cointegration test, and Error Correction Model are used to analyze data (ECM). All variables were regularly distributed, according to descriptive statistics. All study variables were stationary at first difference, according to Augmented Dickey-Fuller (ADF) test statistics. Johansen Cointegration test shows long-term link between variables. Estimations show that government spending positively affects industry performance. Oil revenue had a little positive association with Nigeria's industrial performance, whereas government debt and budget deficit had a negative relationship. The study concludes fiscal policy shock affects Nigeria's industrial performance. The research advises that the government diversify the nation's economic base and focus public expenditures on the productive sector to create more jobs for its citizens. Boost domestic income generation and execute fiscal changes to decrease public debt and deficit financing to a sustainable level, while ensuring borrowed funds are allocated to support growth through productive and self-liquidating investments in the main sectors of the economy.

Abstract: Background: Energy is very crucial component in the entire process of growth, development, and survival for any country. However, there has been a wide gap between its demand and supply. With the problem of scarcity, conservation efforts should be undertaken by every citizen of every nation.

Objective: The study is conducted with the aim of assessing the knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to energy conservation among undergraduate students at King Faisal University.

Methods: This analytical, cross-sectional study utilized data from 806 students selected through two-stage sampling procedures. Data was collected using online, self-administered questionnaire consisting of 25 items related to knowledge, attitudes, and practices on energy conservation. The proportions of students possessing high level of knowledge, exhibiting positive attitude towards energy conservation, and consistently practicing energy conservation measures were estimated using the Stata MP version 13. The crude association between the level of the knowledge and consistency of practice of energy conservation measures was determined using binary logistic regression.

Results: About 59.30% of the students (95% CI: 55.87, 62.65) had high level of knowledge related to energy conservation. Roughly 57% of the students (95% CI: 53.99, 60.80) possessed positive attitude toward energy conservation while 47.14% of them were consistently practicing energy conservation measures. Students who had   high level of knowledge related to energy conservation were 1.38 times more likely to consistently practice energy conservation measures compared with those who possessed low level of knowledge.

Conclusion: The level of knowledge of King Faisal University students was significantly associated with their practices related to energy conservation. However, a large proportion of King Faisal University students were not consistent in practicing energy conservation measures.

Abstract: Second Language learners are affected in their second language acquisition process by many factors. Two of those many factors are aptitude and age. It is a common belief that starting young to learn an L2 makes a significant difference in language learning. The competence of a language learner is said to be directly related to his age, motivation, and attitude towards learning. In many types of research and studies on second language acquisition, many researchers argue that the early the child is exposed to a second language after completing the first language acquisition, the better chance to learn the language, but that will not always be true. If given sufficient exposure to the target language and motivated to understand it, SLA learners might outperform those who started learning L2 in their early years. This draft proposal will seek to answer if there is no linguistic advantage between L2 learners who began early or late if the quantity and quality of the exposure to the target language are significant and if the learner's aptitude is crucial in SLA.

Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted agri-food systems at multiple levels, ranging from growers to processors to consumers, resulting in a scope of impacts on food consumption and purchasing habits. The researchers would like to determine the perception of students as an Effect of the COVID-19 Global Pandemic based on Appetite, Hunger, Availability, Income, Access, Education, Skill, Culture, Family, and Meal Pattern. The study is quantitative and utilizes quota sampling. The researchers distributed survey questionnaires to 100 respondents, with both the results revealing that most of the respondents who responded to online reviews are male and female between the ages of 19 to 25. According to the researcher’s findings, several respondents claimed that COVID-19 changed their eating habits based on food accessibility and availability. Most of them claimed that it was challenging for them to cook meals because there were no supplies accessible in shops or food stalls due to shortages or shortages in supplies brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak. The COVID-19 pandemic outbreak resulted in a lack of desire or a production shortfall, which led some establishments to be required to close. It nonetheless causes problems for people who want to eat out at restaurants because there aren’t many options in the area. The researchers suggested that eating nutritious foods be practiced and even more strongly advocated for, especially during this time when health risks are increasing due to the pandemic.

Abstract: This paper investigates the short-term impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak on the banking system tipping points in all affected countries across the globe. The consequences of infectious disease are considerable and have directly affected the banking system worldwide. Using the Lotka-Volterra complex system theory approach, this study develops the complex dynamical model for investigating the role of the pandemic towards the banking system tipping points. Our results indicate that the banking system in major affected economic zones fell quickly during the critical virus outbreak. The Eurozone experienced more negative abnormal returns during the crisis than other economic zones. Further results confirmed that the promotion of the banking system z-score improves the tipping point locations to large values and thus, enhances an exponential growth of the banking system.  Moreover, the study of banking systems can be applied as an optimal control approach to reduce economic risks, increase banking sector performances, and avoid financial collapse.

Abstract: This paper aims to investigate Nigeria's challenges to efficient policing. Reviewing books, journals, and online papers served as a secondary means of data collection. Utilizing content analysis, the extracted data was examined. Based on the examined literature, the report identified a number of causes for Nigeria's apparent high crime rate, including widespread unemployment, extreme poverty, and political intolerance. The police have developed techniques including surveillance, information gathering, undercover operations, stop, search, and detention, among others, to reduce crime and criminal behaviour in response to what appears to be a high prevalence of crime in Nigeria. These tactics were nevertheless found to be not very effective, and this was attributed to the numerous difficulties the Nigerian security system faces, including the general lack of cooperation on the part of the populace, inadequate crime prevention and control tools, poor pay, corruption, a lack of manpower, and inadequate funding, among others. As a result of the foregoing, it was suggested that the government focus its efforts on addressing the root causes of crime, i.e., removing the factors that encourage crime as a worthwhile option to following the law. Police officers should be trained and retrained because they also require higher pay.
