Abstract: The capability of a firm to carry out its objective or program well into the future is referred to as a project's sustainability. Improper enactment of projects is not necessarily a result of project management skills. Nevertheless, how a project is handled has a major impact on its realization. The problems faced throughout the use of project management competencies have included poor quality, money and schedule overruns, and inadequate project planning. The study investigated the effect of communication on sustainability of road construction projects in Embu Government, Kenya. This study used a descriptive research design. The entire number of ward representatives, county engineers, site engineers, road contractors, surveyors, and road construction technicians made the target population, which were 176. 20 ward representatives representing electoral wards where road projects were performed were thus included among the study's participants. It has 83 road construction technicians who have finished implementing road projects to bituminous standards, 25 county site engineers who are engaged on a permanent basis by the governments of Embu and Kenya, 13 road contractors and 20 surveyors. A population census was carried out because of the tiny population and the need to improve data accuracy in order to obtain accurate results. Questionnaires were used to gather the data, and both regression analysis and descriptive statistics were used to analyze it. The study found a strong and positive correlation between effective communication and the long-term viability of road construction projects. According to the study's findings, it is essential to keep lines of communication open, frequent, and accurate with all project staff members and stakeholders in order to ensure that capital expenditure projects are carried out successfully. The study recommends that throughout project implementation, project activities should be communicated to all parties involved, and county governments should set up the appropriate channels for message delivery and feedback in both top-down and bottom-up communication.

Abstract: Insecurity has become a growing concern worldwide. It has become one of the major challenges facing Nigeria. It is a problem that has significantly threatened and undermined the peaceful existence of the country. Governments and organizations globally have been exploring various measures to address this challenge. This paper, therefore appraised Ondo State Government directive on installation of closed-circuit television camera (CCTV). The study used both quantitative and qualitative techniques of research methods to analyse and interpret data collected. Two hundred and six respondents were selected from residents of Owo Local Government Area. Findings of the study revealed low level of awareness on the directive and poor compliance level. This was attributed to the fact that the directive was an executive order rather than a Law. The study therefore recommended passing the directive into a law so as to empower security agents to enforce it legally. Also, the state government should collaborate with civil organizations and non-governmental organizations to create public awareness for the directive. Finally, youth empowerment and employment should be addressed so as to reduce vulnerability of young people to criminal activities.

Abstract: This research lampoons on the inquisition of democracy and economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa. It is subjected to a single case study-Cameroon. The study uses empirical analysis to manifest inconsistency on the relationship between democracy and economic growth. The key purpose of this study therefore centers within three main interests. First, to establish whether or not Cameroon is a democratic country second, investigating if there is a correlation between democracy and economic growth in Cameroon and what the nature of such this correlation if any is. The main outcome drawn from this empirical study rests on the fact that there is a very weak relationship between democracy and economic growth in Cameroon, an outcome which leaves much to be desired as the country seems to be one of the few Sub Saharan African countries that has enjoyed an over flow of political stability and abundant natural resources.

Abstract: The critical role played by Non-Governmental Organizations in Kenya is to promote development and reduce poverty by implementing socio-economic programs and projects. This has seen huge investments being channeled towards NGOs based projects and therefore, their successful implementation and performance is equally critical. However, despite the significant investment that continues to be made towards NGOs based projects, most of them suffer a myriad of challenges hindering their completion within scheduled time, experiencing cost overruns, or fail to meet the required quality standards all of which are parameters of project performance. Therefore, this study sought to investigate the influence of monitoring and evaluation capacity for the development tool on performance of nongovernmental projects in Turkana County, Kenya. The study employed both descriptive and crossectional research designs and the target population comprised of ongoing/completed 148 NGOs based projects in Turkana County, between the year 2014 and 2022. A stratified random sampling design was applied to take care of the different sectors where the NGOs based projects are being implemented. 20% of the target population comprised the sample size of 30 projects. The target respondents comprised of M&E officers, project managers, procurement officers, finance officers and development partners’ representatives, all comprising 180 respondents as unit of observation. The primary data was collected using a semi-structured survey. Construct validity was determined by matching the operationalized variables to the theoretical construct. Cronbach’s Alpha Coefficient of internal Consistency was used to evaluate the reliability of the data. The qualitative data was examined using descriptive as well as inferential statistics. The study established that M&E capacity tools development had a positive significant influence on the performance of nongovernmental based projects in Turkana. The study concluded that M&E tools help project managers to track and measure project progress toward organizational impact goals. The study recommended that project managers should select an M&E tool depending on the type of information required, the available resources, and the unique assessment goals and objectives.

Abstract: Building internal capacity, conducting energy audits, training energy management teams, facilitation of new technology in tea factories has been some of the several interventions made to decrease the cost of production and ensure more money in the pockets of tea growers. However, a decline in tea prices, bonuses and increase in cost of production proven to be a challenge. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of inventory cost management on the financial performance of Kapkoros Tea Factory in Bomet County, Kenya. The study adopted descriptive research design. The target population was Kapkoros Tea Factory in Bomet County, Kenya. The total number of respondents was 350 respondents who were employees in the marketing, production, personnel and finance departments of the factory. Respondents in this study were divided into groups according to their industry. Respondents were selected using stratified method and simple random method respectively. The sample size was 187 respondents. The data collection tool for this study was semi-structured questionnaire. A pilot study was conducted in 18 respondents. Assessment of validity of research tools was done using content validity. Cronbach's alpha test was used to measure reliability. Data analysis using descriptive and inferential analysis methods was done. The study found that inventory cost management, had a significant positive impact on the financial performance of Kapkoros tea factory. Regarding inventory cost management, the study concluded that inventory cost management increases accuracy by ensuring that factories have optimal inventory to fulfill orders. The study recommends that factories should always ensure that they can easily track the status of raw materials and finished goods in the supply chain.

Abstract: Mining is prevalent in the Philippines even before our colonization. The concept of Mining is always an issue not only in the Philippines but also in other places around the globe which lead to massive destruction of our natural resources. But, little did we know that we utilize these extracted mineral resources in our daily lives. This research seeks to identify the provisions which are part of RA 7942 which will hinder the over exploitation of the mineral resources in the Philippines as well as present certain ideas for its amendment such as the utilization of nanotechnology, bioremediation, and the like as a means of mine rehabilitation procedure which shall be in addition to section 71 of RA 7942 . As a conclusion, mining in the Philippines cannot be stopped since we need its products in our everyday lives, but we can control it by strictly abiding on the provisions under RA 7942 which is geared towards responsible mining and sustainable development.

Abstract: Exportation ecosystems are highly complex and can collapse when subjected to local and global disruptions. Similarly, unsuitable topology structures (network structures) and performance of SME sector can affect the growth of economic resilience. These two factors are necessary for the exportation ecosystem resilience and organizations to withstand and remain operational during economic shocks. This study investigates the conditions that shape the robust structure of exportation ecosystems. The effective exportation topology structure will thus have a capacity of absorbing and withstanding disruptive economic events triggered by the exportation. Each country has a different strategic approach to combat the risks that may arise when subjected to the perturbation. This study raised the question of why are some economies in the G20 nations much better in resilience than others during a crisis. The results show that the robust topology network of exportation and the performance of small and medium sectors enhance the exportation resilience in the G20 ecosystem. This study's results-based implications will help strengthen the system's resilience against local and global disruptions.

Abstract: A rapidly emerging topic in society recently is the use of AIs, or artificial intelligence, in various fields. There are the people who say that AIs should be implemented into society because of the tremendous benefits it brings to many industries and the potential improvement it could have in the future. As discussed in this paper, AIs can benefit greatly to many industries, such as the medical field and manufacturing, to make them more efficient, especially if they are used properly. Despite this, there are those people who disagree on this matter due to the many unanswered questions with AIs, some including bias and privacy, that have yet to be addressed. There are many concerns about the AIs being discriminatory towards certain groups and impeding on the public’s privacy due to their access to the world’s data. Even as these two sides clash, the development of AIs is not slowing down so it is even more necessary for people to make a decision on whether humans implement AIs into our future society.

Abstract: The critical economic transformation of Kenya’s economy has been blueprinted at the ideal level of short-term liabilities. Financial stability has resulted from the effects of achieving equity and liability balance. Debt on the short term is essential to a company’s performance when it has a strong trade position. The company makes the most of its trading position to make money. Additionally, borrowing in the short term is essential when investing in projects with a positive net value. The study sought to evaluate the effect of commercial trade position on short term debt on companies listed on Nairobi securities exchange. The study was anchored on pecking order theory and risk and return theory. The study utilized descriptive research design. The study targeted all fifty four firms that were listed on Nairobi securities exchange from 2007 to 2011. The study collected secondary data from annual accounting report of quoted firms on Nairobi securities exchange. Data analysis was performed in order to convert obtained data into a format that can be used for interpretation and conclusion. The study was based on panel data, the analysis will be based on panel regression. Result demonstrated a negative and significant effect between commercial trade position and short term debt. The study recommended inter-firm trade should therefore be encouraged as this is a form of internal financing.

Abstract: The study specifically focused on establishing the effect of mobile banking on performance of commercial banks in Kenya. The theories that anchored the study comprised of Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), Schumpeterian Theory of Creative Destruction, Disruptive Innovation Theory, and Diffusion of Innovation Theory. A descriptive research design was employed in the study. The target population comprised of 42 licensed commercial banks operating in Kenya. The units of observation comprised of strategic planning managers, operations managers and finance managers. Three employees were targeted from each commercial bank thus making a total of 126 respondents. Structured questionnaires formulated in a five-point Likert scale were employed in collection of data. The collected data was analyzed descriptively and inferentially and the statistics generated through SPSS and MS Excel. The results of the study were displayed in form of tables and figures. Prior data collection, a pilot study was conducted to assess the reliability and validity of the questionnaires. The respondents in the pilot study were exempted from the main study. The results established that mobile banking bears a positive and significant effect on performance of commercial banks in Kenya. The study recommended to the commercial banks operating in Kenya to enhance the level of mobile banking since the practice bears a positive significant effect on performance.

Abstract: Students in Kisumu East Sub-county, Kisumu County have been posting low KCSE mean scores over the last several years albeit having the least number of schools and fewest number of candidates among the sub-counties of Kisumu County. The purpose of the study was to investigate if a relationship exists between academic self-concept and academic achievement among learners in Kisumu East Sub-County. The study used McClelland’s Achievement Theory of Motivation. The study employed the correlational survey design. The study targeted all 1224 form there students in Kisumu East sub-County and stratified random sampling was used to obtain 302 respondents.  Data was collected using questionnaire adopted from the Academic Self-Concept Scale. Descriptive statistics was used to analyze data that is; means and frequency distribution tables, and inferential statistics such as correlation coefficient, r. Academic achievement was measured using standardized internal exams. The results showed that a positive and significant correlation between academic self-concept of students and their academic achievement, r (289) = .54, p < .05. The study recommends that teachers and student counsellors should come up with programs that focus on building academic self-concept amongst students.

Abstract: Nampicuan is a 5th class municipality in the province of Nueva Ecija. As stated in The UPLB Genetics Society, Nampicuan is politically subdivided into 21 barangays. The province of Nueva Ecija is recognized as the “Rice Granary” of the Philippines because it led the production of the nation’s food staple during the twentieth century. As Nampicuan is part of Nueva Ecija, the main attraction is the vast lands of rice fields around the town until such time that the Relic Replica of the Holy Face of Jesus of Manoppello came to Nampicuan.

Transformation occur upon the arrival of the said relic. The replica was given by the Rector of the Basilica del Volto Santo to the Parish Priest of the Immaculate Conception and is now enthroned in the Parish Church, is the only replica enthroned outside the Basilica del Volto Santo.

Generally, this research focused on one goal: to enumerate the transformations brought by the relic in terms of religiousness, culture, and economy of Nampicuan.

Abstract: This article aims to identify the shortcomings observed in carrying out the methodological work of teaching Geography in the 10th grade in the Lyceum of the municipality of Seles, which weakens the direction of the teaching-learning process to fully prepare the individual for the demands of life individual and collective, as oriented in the Basic Law of the Education and Teaching System, in Angola. Grade 10 teachers and students have little participation in the development of geographic content, as it is an adaptation class. The quality of teaching and school performance are low, and the teaching methods and means used are not very adequate, due to the insufficient teaching methodological work that must be carried out with adequate teaching methods and means, through an active and participatory pedagogy. This weakness has a negative influence on the geography teaching-learning process, especially on the quality of teaching and school performance. The results were obtained through document review, interviews, surveys, and class observation, applied in the investigation to obtain the Master's degree in Education Sciences, option Teaching Geography, in the research line of the teaching-learning process of Geography, at the Higher Institute of Educational Sciences in Sumbe, in Angola.

Abstract: Numerous factors, all connected to an organizational system, can contribute to a project's failure. These include improperly setting objectives, inadequate project plans, numerous changes, and insufficient control measures, among other things. Projects frequently fail because of a lack of skills or subpar implementation due to poor performance. Therefore, this study sought to investigate the influence of communication on implementation of roads construction projects by Kenya Urban Roads Authority in Nairobi City County, Kenya. The type of research design that was used in this study was descriptive research design. The target population in this study was 5 projects being implemented by KURA from the year 2018 to 2022. The target respondents consisted of 75 respondents including 5 Project Managers and 70 Project Team members. A sample of 75 respondents formed the sample size of the study. Primary data collection was through questionnaires which were sent to all sampled respondents. Validity of the tool was measured through content, criteria and construct validity testing. The reliability of the questionnaire was assessed using the Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficient. The quantitative data was analyzed using descriptive statistics (i.e. mean and standard deviation) and presented in tables. The study used inferential statistics, i.e. correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis, to identify the relationship between variables. According to the study, communication had a considerable positive impact on the Kenya Urban Roads Authority's road development projects in Nairobi City County, Kenya. The study concluded that efficient communication is critical to project management since it allows projects to progress smoothly and on time. The study suggests that for efficient communication during project implementation, the organization should be aware of its team's location, its members' origins, whether or not they have taken any personality tests, and the kind of resource each team member is.

Abstract: In recent times, financial inclusion has assumed a critical development policy priority in many countries, particularly in developing economies. This paper reviewed past and current research efforts in the achievement of financial inclusion in Nigeria, with the aim of estimating the implication for smallholders. The findings reveal that financial inclusion initiatives are not addressing the needs of smallholders in Nigeria due to difficulties in estimating their creditworthiness, low level of financial and digital literacy, inadequate infrastructure, amidst other factors. The observed level of smallholder exclusion from financial services necessitates the place of developing smallholder-specific financial services and products. The study recommends a systematic approach that aligns the needs of smallholders with the product and services of the financial institutions coupled with the responsiveness of financial institutions and other stakeholders in the financial inclusion process to guarantee sustainability.
