Abstract: The aviation sector is always evolving due to the entry of numerous vendors. Airports, like the Kenya Airports Authority, must therefore devise a plan that will allow them to select from a wide range of vendor services and obtain the best ones. Kenya Airports Authority must use vendor benchmarking in order to design a trustworthy supply chain. Even with all the steps Kenya Airports Authority has taken to implement global sourcing, including the adoption of e-auctioning and e-tendering systems, there still appear to be some factors that are impeding the procurement process. It's possible that procurement irregularities affected a portion of the government's flagship project at the Kenya Airports Authority. A descriptive research design was used for this investigation. The KAA supply and procurement department was the focus of the study. The population under study comprised 89 employees who were employed by the organization in that particular department. There was an 89-respondent census conducted. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire as the instrument. During the evaluation at Kenya Airlines, eight surveys were examined. The questionnaires' content validity was employed in this study to ensure their validity. The Cronbach alpha test was utilized to evaluate the reliability of the questionnaires. The quantitative data from the study was analyzed using descriptive statistical analysis, which involved calculating the mean and standard deviation. To further ascertain the degree to which variables influence one another, the study employed inferential statistics. The study found that vendor benchmarking performance at KAA was positively and significantly impacted by international industry standards. The study concludes that the international industry standards play a crucial role in helping organizations ensure that their suppliers meet quality requirements, minimize the risk of defects and delays, and enhance trust and confidence in their supply chain. The study recommends that in order to fully leverage the benefits of international industry standards as a global sourcing norm and address any obstacles, it is crucial for the organization to follow certain recommended procedures.

Abstract: The science fiction film After Yang delves into the emotional transformation experienced by a family following the demise of a highly empathetic and memory-endowed "cultural robot." In the movie, robots with human-like emotions and recollections transcend their status as disposable and replaceable commodities, instead becoming genuine companion species intricately involved in human lives. Through the enduring nature of memory and ancient mourning rituals, the film challenges anthropocentrism, human enhancement technologies, and biopolitics, while affirming and respecting post-human intelligent life. It also prompts reflection on life and redemption for those rigidly adhering to technological optimism yet grappling with loneliness and alienation. The film calls for a more open-minded approach to post-human life, where “companion species” that once aided humans in labor and companionship are no longer disposable or interchangeable products, but vibrant beings with emotions and memories akin to our own. Acknowledging, respecting, and mourning these lives is a redemption for those in post-industrial society who experience loneliness and alienation.

Abstract: Artificial intelligence is a branch of science that is growing at a fast rate to make computers behave like humans. Training and AI is one of the tech advancements that cover a wide range of areas like neural networks, natural language processing, gaming, robotics, and automation. Today, neural networks, computing, and automation are some of the hottest areas in AI that are successfully implemented in areas like natural language processing and voice recognition. This research paper explores the intersection of training and artificial intelligence (AI) and its implications for various industries. It examines different machine learning techniques like supervised, semi-supervised, and unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning and their impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of AI algorithms. Abstract: The Kenya Urban Roads Authority acknowledges the critical role of risk management in ensuring the successful completion of road construction projects. This is achieved through proactive risk identification, contingency planning, and continuous monitoring. The authority is committed to minimizing the impact of risks and uncertainties, thereby delivering high-quality road infrastructure that fulfills the community's needs. Research indicates that approximately half of construction projects experience delays, while around 63% of information systems projects encounter significant budget overruns, with the range extending from 40% to 200%. Despite these challenges, it is noted that most road projects eventually meet the specified requirements. However, they frequently fall short of adhering to their deadlines and budgetary limitations, with around 80% of ongoing road construction projects remaining incomplete. Therefore, this study sought to influence of risk transfer on performance of road construction projects by Kenya Urban Roads Authority in Nairobi City County, Kenya. The study was conducted using a cross-sectional research design. The research sample included project managers, engineers, supervisors, surveyors, environmentalists, risk managers, construction company employees, and government/KURA officials from eight road construction projects in Nairobi County accomplished between 2015 and 2021. A sum of 200 individuals made up this population. Out of this population, 134 participants were chosen at random for the sample. Surveys were employed to gather pertinent data for the research, and a reliability assessment of the research tools was conducted with a coefficient value exceeding 0.7. In order to confirm the questionnaires' validity and reliability, a pilot study was carried out with 10% of the participants. Descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation) and inferential analysis (multiple regression) were utilized to analyze the collected data, along with diagnostic tests like correlation, normality, and multicollinearity assessments to verify data integrity. The findings were visually displayed using a mix of tables, graphs, and pie charts. The research discovered that the performance of road construction projects in Nairobi County, Kenya was significantly improved by risk transfer. The research findings suggest that risk transfer enables project managers to shield projects from severe losses, maintain project cash flow, and concentrate on the organization's key strengths. The research suggests that project managers should perform a comprehensive risk assessment and analysis in order to guarantee effective risk transfer.

Abstract: The study examines direct, indirect, mediating, and moderating effects among stakeholder environmental pressure, environmental culture, green marketing orientation, environmental reputation, competitive advantage, and performance of manufacturing and pharmaceutical firms. We collected data from 252 top and middle managers of the firms using survey questionnaires. We used the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and Process Macro models 4 and 1 to examine the direct, indirect, and moderating hypotheses, respectively. The results indicate stakeholder environmental pressure and environmental culture influence green marketing orientation and green marketing orientation influences competitive advantage and corporate performance, respectively. Furthermore, the results suggest that competitive advantage partially mediates the influence of green marketing orientation on corporate performance. Moreover, environmental reputation moderates the relationship between green marketing orientation and competitive advantage. The findings of the study suggest critical implications for both theory and practice.

Abstract: Writing skills are at the heart of education. They are essential for composing essays, research papers, and assignments that demonstrate a student understands the subject. A well-written paper garners higher grades and also reflects a student’s depth of knowledge and critical thinking abilities. Regardless of this importance, writing is typically more complex to learners and demanding especially when writing in another language different from the native or mother tongue. In Kenya, English is taught as a second language and therefore writing poses a great challenge to the learners. Besides, 60 % of teachers find it difficult to teach writing while 75% of learners find it boring. For effective development of writing skills, appropriate approaches are key in developing this skill. This study looked into the effectiveness of using integrated approaches to develop writing skills. The different approaches under exploration which were integrated are: process, product and genre pedagogic. The study was guided by Archer’s theory of reflexivity (Archer, 2007) which provides a theoretical underpinning for engagement in writing. The study was exploratory which yielded qualitative data. The target population was 30% of the purposively selected primary schools. Both teachers and pupils were included. From Class 6-8, 30 lessons in 10 purposively selected schools were observed and 30 teachers whose lessons had been observed were interviewed. The instruments of data collection were interviews, observation schedules and document analysis. Data analysis was done through content analysis which was done at two levels: basic level or the manifest level which gives a descriptive account of the data and the higher level or the latent level of analysis which gives a more interpretive analysis. The key finding was: the use of mixed approaches enhanced the development of learners writing skills. The results are useful to educational institutions like Kenya National Examination Council in designing evaluation procedures in creative writing and Teacher Training Colleges in developing and reviewing curriculum in writing to the pre-service teachers.

Abstract: The study looks at the many aspects that lead to Turkish consumers' reluctance to embrace electric cars (EVs). Using a mixed-method approach that includes both qualitative data and quantitative surveys, the research reveals a range of hurdles, from psychological and infrastructural to technical and economic. Information was acquired from a broad group of prospective automobile purchasers in different parts of Turkey. The results show that substantial opposition still exists in spite of rising environmental consciousness and government incentives. The high initial cost of EVs, the lack of a suitable infrastructure for charging them, worries about battery life and maintenance, and a predilection for traditional internal combustion engine cars are some of the key barriers. The purpose of this study is to offer practical advice to manufacturers, politicians, and other interested parties so they may plan ahead and successfully promote the adoption of electric vehicles in Turkey.
