Abstract: Dementia is one among the most feared disorders of the present time. As dementia produces a decline in the intellectual functioning of an individual it usually interferes with the personal activities of daily living. They become dependent on their family members who often play the role of caregivers. The care giving experiences often leads to multidimensional stressors like physical, psychological, emotional, social and financial depending on the status of the demented recipient. The present study investigated the possible gender differences and the relationship between caregiver burden and depression among dementia caregivers. The participants were 34 dementia caregivers aged between 30-70 years selected from Trichur district of Kerala using purposive sampling. They were administered The Zarit Burden Interview and the Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression. The data obtained were analysed using‘t’ test and coefficient of correlation. The results revealed significant gender differences with respect to caregiver burden and depression among the dementia caregivers. Significant positive correlation was obtained between caregiver burden and depression.

Abstract: As human beings individuals are entitled to human rights. Human rights are universal, indivisible and precious for them. But, today human rights are being violated in each sphere. Especially, women are badly victims of these violations and their lives have been affected even in domestic relationship. Innumerable women are victimized throughout world by domestic violence. In this paper, the problems at both global as well as local level have been highlighted. This is a part of Doctoral work carried on in four sample areas in the district of Balasore in the state of Odisha highlighting acute condition of domestic violence. For this study multistage purposive sample design has been undertaken. The work has been done on the basis of primary source. From the study, it is found that highest percentage of Muslim and tribal women are unaware of their human rights for which they face more cases of violation whether it is inside house or outside. It has been suggested that community based education and awareness should be made involving SHGs, NGOs and Civil society for checking this problem).

Abstract: Any person who buys goods and services for personal consumption and not for commercial purpose or resale is called a consumer. Consumers form the largest economic group in any country. They are the pivots of all economic activities. Consumer is the real deciding factor for all economic activities. It is now universally accepted that the extent of consumer protection is a true indicator of the level of progress in a nation. The growing size and complexity of production and distribution systems, the high level of sophistication in marketing and selling practices and forms of promotion like advertising, etc. have contributed to the increased need for consumer protection. The contemporary era is marked as the era of consumers. No country can knowingly or unknowingly disregard the interest of the consumers. The Consumer Protection Act, 1986 is the most important legislation enacted to provide for effective safeguards to consumers against various types of exploitations and unfair dealings. In India, the government has taken many steps to protect consumers and in 2005 the Govt. of India started a national campaign “Jago Grahak Jago (Wake up Consumer)” to create awareness among consumers. An enlightened consumer is an empowered consumer.  An aware consumer not only protects himself from exploitation but induces efficiency, transparency and accountability in the entire manufacturing and services sector.   Realizing the importance of consumer awareness, Government has accorded top priority to ‘Consumer Education, Consumer Protection and Consumer Awareness.   The success of consumer movement mainly depends upon the level of consumer awareness generated in the country by educating the consumers about their rights and responsibilities. Within India itself, the level of consumer awareness varies from State to State depending upon the level of literacy and the social awareness of the people. Jago Grahak Jago is a consumer awareness programme from Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India. The government has used multiple channels to create consumer awareness. Print media advertisements, Audio Campaigns, Video Campaigns are being used for consumer information and education about initiatives like Insurance Ombudsman channel. The main objective of the Consumer Protection Act is to ensure the better protection of consumers. Hence, this paper attempts to study the features and importance of consumer awareness programme jago grahak jago in Indian society.

Abstract: Emotional intelligence is a collection of non-cognitive abilities, skills and competencies which influence one’s ability to succeed in life. People need emotional intelligence to make use of the full potential of their talents.  Journalese is a misused language that appears in newspapers but not in real life. The purpose of the study was to estimate the relationship between emotional intelligence and the proficiency in journalistic English of the students of journalism and mass communication degree course. To a stratified sample of 60 students of journalism, a standardized scale in emotional intelligence was given to measure their level of emotional intelligence. They were also tested for their proficiency in journalistic English. The results proved that there was no significant positive relationship between emotional intelligence and journalistic English. Most of the boys and girls of the journalism course in Srm University, Chennai have high level of emotional intelligence and their proficiency in journalese is also high.

Abstract: Indians have been blessed with a constitution which is the result of brain storming of the constitutional pundits for more than three years. Crystal demarcation among legislature, executive and judiciary is unique in the constitution. It enshrined a beautiful pattern of republic for people’s participation in the governance of the country. To enhance the potentiality of governance political party system has been adopted. But, this party system is seen to paralyze the democratic political system through criminalization by the goons and the outlaws. Criminalization is now emerging as serious challenge in the Indian political system. It is a challenge to the honesty, transparency in political life. People’s expectation of their legislators has changed. They prefer a power broker to an honest politician. Leaders do not come out of blue. In fact it is said that, people get the government they deserve. In this peculiar context, judiciary has been taking active role to curb criminalization in politics by preventing legislators with criminal background from assuming public office.

Abstract: Anthropology is a vast area of study touching almost all aspects of human beings, from physiological to psychological to sociological. This makes it more complex and time consuming process to do any study of any culture. This article serves as reference guide for those who are starting their journey as anthropologists.

Anthropologists learn about the culture of another society through fieldwork and first hand observation in that society.  This kind of research is called ethnography.  Since culture primarily relates to the way people interact with each other, it is not possible to adequately observe it in a laboratory setting.  Imagine how much more would be learned about the actual patterns of interaction of a typical American family by living in their home rather than asking one of the family members in a college or university office.

Cultural anthropologists also do systematic comparisons of similar cultures.  This is called ethnology.  An example of an ethnological study would be a comparison of what cultures are like in societies that have economies based on hunting and gathering rather than agriculture.  The data for this sort of ethnology would come from the existing ethnographies about these peoples.  In other words, ethnology is essentially a synthesis of the work of many ethnographers.

Abstract: Animal husbandry is one of the most growing sectors in Gujarat where participation of farmwomen often observed. Participation of farmwomen is decided on the basis of their involvement in different farm management and animal husbandry activities. These activities include maintenance of dairy animal, milking and feeding practices as well as care and management of young ones. Women empowerment and capacity building programmes with special reference to animal husbandry activities are frequently organized by different organizations. It becomes important to know the level of participation of farmwomen in decision-making processes.  The present study was undertaken in Anand district of Gujarat state in order to know the percentage level of participation of farmwomen in decision-making processes of farm management and animal husbandry activities. Three talukas of Anand district, viz., Bhanpura, Bhetasi and Khadol were selected for the study and a total of 130farmwomen were interviewed. Majority of farmwomen were jointly involved in the process of decision-making for home and farm management aspects as well as in fodder management, 53.85% of women agreed to take self-decision regarding purchase of milch animals. The least participation in decision making was noticed in giving veterinary treatment to animals. Results suggest a need of extension education programmes on large scale in order to improve level of participation of women in decision-making processes in animal husbandry sector.

Abstract: This paper examines the evolving theatrical styles of Howard Brenton by selecting representative plays respectively in the fringe period of 1960s, the transitional period in the 1970s, the climax period in 1980, and a temporal retreat to the Fringe in the era of Theater’s government. Through tracing the evolving characterization, dramatic themes, dramatic scenery and dramatic structures, this paper attempts to give a sketch view of the main characteristics of Howard Brenton’s plays in light of their indebtness and transcendence of the influences both in and outside the Red theatre, such as the naturalism of the first dramatic wave and Brecht’s epic theatre.

Abstract: This paper is a modest attempt to understand the movement in Kashmir against the oppressive Dogra rule. It tries to address a larger historiographical problem of modern South Asia that gives primacy to the freedom struggle against the British and accorded lesser attention to people’s movement in the princely states. The political mobilization in princely India did not get adequate academic attention as they are seen as backward in consciousness and intent as they are organized around communitarian, caste and regional lines. The paper underscores the manifold meanings of freedom struggle in South Asia.

Abstract: Increasing interest has been observed to own dogs for different purposes in rural areas of Gujarat. Present survey was carried out in to evaluate knowledge level on dog-ownership in a total of 115 dog-owners from five villages near Anand, Gujarat. Majority of dog-owners kept a dog on their cattle farm. Use of dogs for protecting livestock farms by owners remains the most common purpose of dog-ownership. All dog-owners were unaware about transmissible diseases of dogs in rural area. Results suggest the basic requirement of extension education for rural dog-owners to impart knowledge on dog healthcare and management as well as on diseases of dogs.

Abstract: Inclusive growth refers both to the pace and pattern of growth, which are considered interlinked and therefore it need to be addressed together. The growth process creates a new economic opportunities that are unevenly distributed. Indian Society is characterized by multiple form of exclusion associated with social identities such as caste, class, gender etc. So, addressing such forms of exclusion requires inclusive policies to overcome deprivation faced by each of these groups. The development startles of the last several  years makes new social groups believe that the gains of social economic and Political development has not been shared equally for these excluded groups. Therefore those who have been excluded from Social, economic and political development are now seeking solution to their groups specific problems. It is in this background, this paper explains the social exclusion, inclusive growth and case of Other Backward Class in India who are excluded from the mains of the society.

Abstract: Although, the Constitution of India has nowhere used the term “federal”, it has provided for a structure of governance which is essentially federal in nature. Within the basic framework of federalism, the Constitution has given overriding powers to the Central government. The objective of the constitution makers was to have Co-operative Federalism. However, it is observed that national parties tend to lead to centralization of powers. Since independence, for four decades, India under One-party dominant system, which was seen as a unitary government? However, the emergence of regional parties has contributed to the break-down of One-party dominant system at the Centre. The regional parties has made the state as the epic-Centre of Indian Politics and also playing major roles at the national policies and further federalized the working of federalism.

Abstract: Financial Markets are absolutely vital for the proper functioning of economic activities as they serve to control funds from servers to borrowers. They play an important role by controlling the funds by those who can make productive and proper use of it. The financial market permits both business and government to raise the needed funds by selling securities. Simultaneously, the surplus units of the economy are able to invest and earn and return. Financial markets include primary markets where new securities are sold and secondary markets where existing securities are traded.  Investors invested money in share market by getting secret information, Investors are interested to purchase low price’s share all the time, Most of the investors invested money after taking loan from bank in share market, Much black money has been invested in share market, people instigate to new investors to enter the share market, the investors entered the share market to get the highest profit instead of other investing options. Investors collected money from various sources. . Bangladesh economy has grown at around 6% over the past 5 years, despite natural shocks and external volatility, and we believe that the best years for the country are ahead of us. The economy has the potential to grow by around 8% during the coming years and for that the investment must grow faster than the present rate. The investment climate in Bangladesh is quite attractive with policies for foreign investment that are among the most permissive in the region.  Bangladesh is open for foreign direct investment in all industrial sectors excepting for 4 reserve sectors (defense equipments, reserve forestry, atomic energy, currency printing and minting) mentioned in the Industrial policy. The Public Private Partnership (PPP) initiative in infrastructure investment announced by the government offer attractive long term investment opportunities for foreign investors.   Stock markets in Bangladesh are open for foreign portfolio investment by non-resident individual or institutional investors. But in the year 1996 and 2011 Share Market of Bangladesh feces a terrible crisis. The share market collapsed due to the presence of syndicates. The government could not take initiative to stable the market. Above all, the people have become very pessimistic to invest in Stock Exchange of Bangladesh.  This paper is all about share market analysis and the reason behind the crash in share market in these mentioned years.  I try to cover up all possible ways to stable this unpredictable market.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze the efficiency of foreign exchange market using Random Walk Models. For the efficient market hypothesis, daily rates of USDCHF currency pairs for 5 years period from 01/01/2009 to 31/12/2013 are taken. It is found that the foreign exchange market is not weak form efficient in respect of this currency pair, and traders of foreign exchange in respect of these current pair is able to predict their future values based on their values in the recent past.
