Abstract: This study sought to determine the role of HLIs in development of surrounding community in Rwanda. A case study of IPRC MUSANZE in Musanze District. The Questionnaires and interviews were the main instruments of data collection. There were questionnaires distributed to the IPRC Musanze staff and interviews with IPRC Musanze senior Managers, Local authorities IPRC Musanze and as well people residing around IPRC Musanze were conducted. The study yielded both quantitative data and qualitative data.  Findings from the study have established that IPRC Musanze as a higher learning institution has made an effort in the development of its surrounding community in Musanze District as the study for example discovered that 96.67 % of the respondents agree that they participate in community outreach,73.33 %  participate in research and innovation and 63.33%  confirmed that there is a provision of mentoring and coaching services to the surrounding community among others The Ministry of Education should allocate budget line for community outreach as well as research and innovation in HLIs. The Higher Education Council ( HEC) should consider effective teaching and learning/education ,research and innovation and community outreach as major criteria of any best higher learning institution thus reinforcing them to put more effort in the above three mentioned roles.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to find out how jingles used in advertisement plays a role in retention of the product. A questionnaire was developed to acknowledge people about retention and recall of jingles. This survey is carried out in Karachi and about 100 responses were received from the subsequent questionnaire. The analysis includes reliability analysis, regression analysis and anova. The results have shown that people living in Karachi were all influenced by jingles. Moreover, among the two factors, music of jingles have a significant and positive affect on product retention and recall as compared to lyrics whose effect seems to be insignificant. This suggested that inappropriate match of music in the advertisement with the brand or product being advertised might lead to misinterpretation of the advertising message and it can be distractive at times. Hence this result revealed the impact of music in advertising and how much it can affect the consumers. As the researchers did the research, it is proven that music in advertising is really important and it does effect on consumers’ buying behavior.

Abstract: This research study entitled comparative analyses of students’ academic performance in agricultural science in public and private secondary schools in Kaduna State, Nigeria. The research had two objectives, two research questions, and two null-hypotheses, which were tested at 0.05 level of significance. The ex-post factor design were employed in the study, paper and pencil were used to collect SSCE results in 2014, 2015 and 2016 academic years for all the objectives. The study covered twelve (12) educational zones in Kaduna state with population of 81,921 students that sat for Agricultural Science SSCE in 2014, 2015 and 2016, A purposive sampling techniques and stratified sampling techniques were used to select four public and private secondary schools that offers Agricultural science in the state, the t-test statistical tools was used in analyzing students’ academic performance. The results obtained showed that, female students of private secondary schools performed higher than female students of public secondary schools, and then male students of public secondary schools were higher academically. It was recommended in the study that, teachers of public and private secondary schools should adopt the use of “improvise” that is use of local materials as teaching aid, and government should provide all necessary material for teaching/learning improvement.

Abstract: The current study aims at investigating the implementation of modern technology at Jazan University, KSA to enhance EFL learners' listening and speaking skills. This study is significant because it might help in integrating technology in the university education system to promote listening and speaking skills to affluent level. The participant were 100  English Language staff members who were asked to show their perspectives on the suitable  technological tools to be used in developing students listening and speaking skills. Then 10 teachers were observed to examine the degree of using technology in teaching listening and speaking skills. Moreover, 100 students were asked to show how frequency do they use technology to learn listening and speaking skills. All the participants’ responses were taken into account, Some significant findings are drawn: Jazan university English language Staff members consider CALL as a an effective tool for e-learning, such as internet, VLC, and different learning websites. In addition to this, they believe that CALL tools such as, recorder/gramophone and mobile digital devices like laptops, iPods facilitate learning English language listening and speaking skills in many ways. Moreover, they think that CALL tools such as laps, computer software programs and language games can be used to teach and learn listening and speaking skills to a fluent level. The findings also show that students 'rarely' or ‘never’ use CALL and MALL technology in  learning listening and speaking skills,  except of a few items. From the result obtained in the above table, it seems that the students ‘never’ use technology such as Virtual Learning Class (VLC), "Social Media Online Discussion Groups", and Mobile Apps, in English listening and speaking. However, it seems that technological items such as, "surfing internet" to access language learning websites, "Media Lectures (ML)", "YouTube' videos to learn English language listening and speaking skills were sometimes used by them. Therefore, it is possible to say that the students were inclined towards the using technology they do not tend to develop their communicative competences.
