A short review for the treatment aspects of mucormycosis

Abstract: Mucormycosis or black fungus is a serious type of fungal infection caused by mucormycetes which are made up of group of molds. In this paper, we studied about what is fungus, mucormycosis, types of fungal infection and preventions, and amphotericin B is a choice of drug and other drugs like posconazole, isavuconazole are used as a salvage therapy. Surgical debridement is also one of the treatment for mucormycosis by removal of necrotic tissues. Deferasirox also used in mucormycosis treatment but further studies also required for better results. Hyperbaric oxygen also has been used in some patients of mucormycosis but research to be continue for more benefits.
