To guarantee that practices have the requisite know-how to manage diabetes, formal standards work as the foundation for our approach. However, we need to compare patient complete satisfaction with care and medical benefits occurring from adherence to standards. In order for a patient to get medical gain from adherence to standards, the guidelines must be clear and medically proper to the doctor, who must consent to their content and want to incorporate them into his day-to-day practice.
