Abstract: Global conflict has resulted in a serious dislocation of citizens from many countries and Malaysia is facing major influx of refugees. Among the number of asylum seekers ther are individuals with ambition to pursue higher education. The aim of this study is to survey the current challenges faced by refugee students in the educational environment in Malaysian Higher Institutions of Learning. This exploratory study leads to the flaws in the educational policy for refugees. The sequential mixed method has been implemented to gather and analyze the data. This exploratory study is framed by global policy of human rights and suggests the importance of educational opportunities for refugees to avoid major crisis in Malaysia.
