Abstract: Diriyah in Saudi Arabia has undergone an ambitious architectural project aimed at reviving Najdi architecture as part of Vision 2030, balancing heritage preservation with modern development. This research examines Diriyah’s experience and its potential application in Kuwait, which has a rich architectural heritage reflecting its maritime and commercial history. Using a comparative analytical approach, the study assesses urban and architectural aspects, including design principles, construction materials, sustainability, and urban planning. It also explores engineering and regulatory challenges that might arise in implementing a similar project in Kuwait. The findings indicate that successful heritage projects require flexible governmental and administrative support, along with urban policies adapted to contemporary heritage development needs. Based on SWOT analysis, the research suggests strategies for enhancing Kuwaiti architectural identity by adopting approaches inspired by Diriyah’s development, ensuring a balanced integration of heritage and modernity.

ملخـص: لقد خضعت الدرعية في المملكة العربية السعودية لمشروع معماري طموح يهدف إلى إحياء العمارة النجدية كجزء من رؤية 2030، مما يوازن بين الحفاظ على التراث والتطوير الحديث. تبحث هذه الدراسة في تجربة الدرعية وإمكانية تطبيقها في الكويت، التي تتمتع بإرث معماري غني يعكس تاريخها البحري والتجاري. باستخدام منهج تحليلي مقارن، تقوم الدراسة بتقييم الجوانب الحضرية والمعمارية، بما في ذلك مبادئ التصميم ومواد البناء والاستدامة والتخطيط العمراني. كما تستكشف التحديات الهندسية والتنظيمية التي قد تنشأ عند تنفيذ مشروع مماثل في الكويت. تشير النتائج إلى أن المشاريع التراثية الناجحة تتطلب دعماً حكومياً وإدارياً مرناً، إلى جانب سياسات عمرانية تتكيف مع احتياجات التطوير التراثي المعاصر. وبناءً على تحليل SWOT، تقترح الدراسة استراتيجيات لتعزيز الهوية المعمارية الكويتية من خلال تبني نهج مستوحى من تطوير الدرعية، مما يضمن تكاملاً متوازناً بين التراث والحداثة
