Abstract: Traumatic diaphrgramatic hernias are uncommon, yet associated with high mortality. The colon very rarely herniated through the diaphragmatic defect. Acute traumatic rupture of the diaphragm may go unnoticed and there is often a delay between the injury and the diagnosis.
