Montesquieu, Hegel and Weber: From ‘L-esprit’ To ‘Der Geist’

Abstract: This essay seeks to expose how the political thought of Montesquieu, Hegel and Weber share the conception of spirit as an organic element. For this purpose, it can be found in this paper a brief review over their social and political thought, focused on their idea of spirit. As a result, it is shown the central role the idea of spirit has in their work, as it is shared in different, but also similar, ways.
