The Power of Adult Education in Progressing Gender Equity in Saudi Arabia

Abstract: Although significantly more initiatives have been created to address gender issues in Saudi Arabia, progressive adult educators argue that there are some constraints that hinder progress in gender equality. The aim of this paper is to explore: 1) the most common obstacles in gender equality due to the lack of gender research on women's issues in Saudi Arabia, Saudi legal systems as well as Saudi social and customary norms; 2) the role of adult education in addressing gender issues along with some recommendations.
